I contacted Cardinal, which proposed replacing the dead compressor as well as a few other small but aging parts in my otherwise excellent existing system. Upon receiving the compressor, Pablo the managing technician, came over an did the technically challenging tasks of retrofitting the heat pump to work with the new compressor, installing new parts to rejuvenate the system, and waiting patiently for the system to optimize before turning it on.
