Clutter overcharged me for their service by 180 dollars. The movers were sitting down for more than hour doing nothing. they were on their phones, texting or in the internet, calling their manger, dispatch, and a coworker to come because they need instructions on how to complete my move or were just taking a break to be on the phone. They also were getting conflicting information on how to finish the job. I was told by the mover that I would not get charged for the last hour and 15 minutes. Instead they charged me. They also took 15-20 minute breaks each and could not find the bathroom. This evident that they did this because they had to come back out the second day. The next day their had to be a pickup because the previous days movers didn't complete the job. I even sent videos of the workers sitting down, talking or being on their phones, and a screenshot of customer service telling me I would not get charged because I was complaining about them not working. They also went to the bathroom and took 15 minute breaks each and went on their phones several times instead of working. I sent this trust and safety and they thought I was disputing the labor time and denied my claim. They approved the labor dispute for 50 bucks. I am disputing the entire time you didn't work and we're sitting there not moving my stuff. I should be refunded for this entire time you were not working. This is more than one hundred dollars to hundred and 15 dollars short. Second they quoted me 90 dollars a month for storage but ended up charging 177 a month. First, I'm ONLY giving a 2-Star because my mover (MATT) was beyond excellent now that I'm through the pleasantries. I informed the screener during the initial call scope that I required a mover before the Garage demolition May 9th. The Clutter rep assigned the movers for two days before the demolition for 7-11 am. On the day of the move, it was rescheduled for 11 am-2 pm; after that, it was rescheduled 2-4 pm. Once Matt arrived, the truck was already to full to take all of my stuff; on top of that, Matt required my assistance to "MOVE MY STUFF" because he was the only mover, and I had a refrigerator. I'm going to type that again. I had to move my own stuff. After complaining that you sent one person and a full truck, I was told the two-team crew was on a bigger assignment, and May 10th is the earliest to come back. I repeated several times I have a Demo team on the 9th. The ordeal ended with me taking wanting to cancel everything, but Matt offered to help move things into my house, and what didn't fit was left outside, and of course it storm that night. TLDR: Absolutely do not store anything you care about with Clutter. They are grossly negligent and broke a $2k+ OLED TV, closed out of the appointment without filing the claim and just left the premises. I had to call to report the broken TV which Clutter declared a Total Loss and offered me $54 for it. There are pictures from before and after but they are refusing to take responsibility for anything (see attached email response). Here is a lengthy documentation of what transpired: I had stored almost my entire apartment with Clutter for 6 months. One of the items that was stored was a 65" OLED TV that has paper-thin bezels. This TV had to be stored properly on its base to avoid crushing the thin edges. As outlined below, this clearly did not happen and the TV was handled improperly for 6+ months. On 8/27/2020 I had scheduled a delivery at 7am for all of my items out of storage. When the truck arrived and started unloading items I noticed that the TV box was stood up vertically on its side. As it was unloaded it was then placed vertically on its short-edge side again. I could not personally intervene so as not to break Clutter's rules on only letting Clutter movers handle items. I asked the 2 movers to unpack the TV in order to check for damage. As they were unpacking it fully, I saw that the edge which had been bearing the weight against the ground was bent and the screen cracked. The movers attempted to file a claim through their app but had conveniently already ended their delivery progress (even though I had let them know we needed to inspect the TV). They then decided to promptly leave the premises and the onus now fell on me to take pictures and file a claim. I proceeded to file a claim online and provided all images and information. I received a response back later that the TV was evaluated to be a Total Loss and I would be compensated $54.50 because my TV weighed 54.50 lbs. While this would be outrageous in itself, Clutter is actually in violation of their own Release Agreement which I signed. The language in the agreement states "Clutter will reimburse you for: (iii) damage to your personal effects caused by Clutter's gross negligence or willful misconduct, up to a total maximum of US $1.00 per pound in aggregate per User." I explicitly agreed to the language above that I am covered for damages up to a total maximum of US $1.00 per pound in aggregate per User. Since I stored my entire 1 bedroom apartment with them there was a 13'x13' storage unit weighing 2,000+ lbs. Lastly, I never signed any agreement at the end of the delivery process to sing-off on the delivery process. It seems that Clutter used an electronic SMS signature from the day prior to sign-off on the delivery process for me. In the text I responded "Yes" to signing electronically tomorrow. There was no way for me to know the day before that Clutter would cause thousands of dollars worth of damage. Furthermore, on the contracts on file in the system, my signature actually shows a date of 8/27/2020 even though I never signed anything (physically or electronically) on 8/27/2020. I am assuming Clutter used my SMS "Yes" reply on 8/26/2020 to sign documents on 8/27/2020 on my behalf. This constitutes Signature Forgery. read more

THE GUYS that returned my belongings from storage WAS FANTASTIC; as when they initially picked up my things earlier this year, they were quick, professional, and friendly. If I could give them a separate score I would give them a 5 star... However, I have an ISSUE WITH THE COMPANY. They changed their policy while my things were being stored and did not notify me of an important change; (unless you are receiving everything back from storage, there will be a $9 fee per item and a truck charge). This was not the case when I first stored with them and the reason for me choosing to move forward. Initially, after storing your belongings with Clutter you could choose to have some of your things returned for free... as many times as you like... changing this service from free to $9 an item without notifying your customer is absolutely bad business. I had over 89 items stored and therefore, my monthly fee was pretty high. Upon placing an online request to return about half my items, I notice the fee per item. I spoke with several customer service reps that were very nice, but robotic in their same response stating nothing could be done on the price and that if I chooses to take partial return the charge would apply. I explained the monthly cost I had been paying for over 7 months. They did not seem to care and would not escalate my issue to anyone above a customer service rep; Serena, whom stated that she was the highest level person I could speak with regarding this matter. Because they overloaded the movers, the movers showed up an hour past the latest time in our window. They also tell you, "don't worry, we'll pack everything and bring supplies!"-- WRONG. I packed most things, and had the things that I didn't pack organized. The movers arrived with limited supplies, not knowing they needed to pack. It took them 4.5 hours. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY We used Clutter for a move in Chicago on April 1, 2022 and we're still recovering from the trauma. We are submitting multiple claims for the broken and damaged items, but here are a few words of warning to those considering using this company: The plan was to move from a one-bedroom apartment to another one-bedroom apartment. Both are located in high-rise apartment buildings about 10 minutes away from each other. After completing an extensive virtual walkthrough with a Clutter representative, we were quoted at about $1500 for 3 movers, 6 hours. We should have known something was very wrong when they didn't show up with moving blankets, but we figured they knew what they were doing or had blankets in the truck. That was not the case. To pack and move TVs, computer monitors and mirrors, movers put a thin layer of bubble wrap around the item and taped cardboard over that. Our solid walnut bed, sideboard, and desks did not receive the same treatment, and were apparently just thrown into the truck without even bubble wrap separating them from other heavy items, resulting in dents, scratches, and scuffs. Our fabric items such as office chairs and couch cushions were unprotected, and showed up covered with dust, dirt, and stains. Items with drawers were not secured, and as a result one of our desk drawers fell out at some point and shattered. While movers were unloading the truck, they were joking about damaging the new apartment, complaining about the distance from the freight elevator, and scuffed the walls and floors with heavy furniture. They assembled our bedframe upside down, which apparently required use of a power tool to drill new holes into solid walnut. They even managed to lose two large items--a wooden ladder and an 8-foot tall plant weighing about 150 lbs. We basically had to argue with the movers before they agreed to move the plant from the old apartment to the loading dock, where it conveniently went missing. They instead brought an obviously different, smaller, and dead plant to the new apartment, and said that someone from the old building must have stolen our plant from the loading dock during the move. At the end of the day, Clutter charged us $2700 for 3 movers, 10 hours. At some point, it was revealed that it was one of the movers' first day on the job, and the other two were not aware of that in advance. Despite this individual's obvious inexperience, he was billed at the same rate as the other two movers. The best part--they didn't even complete the move. Late in the afternoon, it became clear that we needed extra help. We had to call our parents--four extra people--to finish packing and moving the rest of the apartment. As we continue unpacking, we keep finding more damaged and broken items. Bottom line: If Clutter is your last resort, either move yourself or postpone your move until you can find another moving company. read more

My move was scheduled for a 9-10 am arrival slot, today, 6/17. At 7:30am Clutter called to cancel the appointment. I'm moving less than a mile away. I'm not simply moving a couch. I'm moving from from one city building to the next. I was not given a rationale or the cancellation. No explanation at all. Just that "operations cancelled". Yesterday, a text confirmation came in at 3pm but I didn't see it because I was in meetings. I got off at 6 and replied around 7:30 when I got home. I replied to you YESTERDAY and said YES MULTIPLE TIMES between 730 and 1130pm. This is a huge inconvenience and it demonstrates poor service. This lack of tact and consideration. What's worse--they cancelled on me very last minute and the system sent a "change of plans, no worries"--"you may be charged" for canceling email. The improper template CRM communication flow demonstrates poor judgement of the customer experience and journey. If Clutter cancels on a customer last minute, there should be a communication piece that is distinct from the customer cancelation communication. I called Clutter customer service and the rep apologized. Certain things warrant more that the words. "I empathize" doesn't balance with, or diminish this level or poor service. "We will get you rescheduled" ignores the time, effort, and sequences of planning that moves take. There needs to be a concrete, tangible, poor service accommodation. Moves require logistics that have dependencies. As a start, I took a day off of work, I booked the loading docs at my current and new place, hired painters, hired cleaners, etc. Now I'll need another day off of work, and I'll have to reschedule all of the other services. The loading docks too! I coordinated these logistics weeks ago, and now it is likely that availability for the other details is already impact. Customer service let me know about the claim filing option, but great! This adds to my task list. So instead of lightening a burden on my move day, I have a series of negative emotions and additional planning and work. I waited until almost noon to hear back from Clutter to see if they found a new date for me. No call, so I called back. They said the next available date is July 7. I told them my lease ends on the 30th and I have tickets for travel on the 29th. Thé operations rep responded with ok we will keep it noted as cancelled since you cannot do the 7th. There's no way that the amount they're charging is sustainable, and you should probably be skeptical that they're gonna remain that way for the long-term. I would not use them again for a move. --- I used Clutter because I needed to move over separate days, and most other moving options ended up costing 10x what Clutter charged (with promo codes and other discounts). After seeking out third-party moving insurance (since it seems like if you make a claim against Clutter's paltry insurance policy, you have to sign something that prevents you from writing one of these Yelp reviews), I decided to go for it. The experience of them packing up all my stuff seemed to go as well as it could. I'd advise that if you are doing this for a move (and not purely for storage services) that you take note of how they're packing your stuff. The movers wrapped some pieces of framed artwork, but others were merely wedged together in the box. This led to one piece having a noticeable scratch in the glass. Not the worst damage, but not ideal. I'm still unpacking stuff, so we'll see if more things got damaged during the packing process. There were also other questionable choices, such as packing some loose table legs for a coffee table inside of the box they jammed the table into. You could hear the legs clanking around in the box. I'd also advise against it for a move because you can't get a slot for one of their trucks to come until they've processed at least one of their boxes in their system. I was able to book a slot for my move-out just fine. I didn't, however, know when I was gonna move back in until that move-out day. Thankfully a slot opened up a day or two afterwards, but the initial estimate was that I was gonna be without any furniture for over a week. The return trip was a bit more precarious. For one thing, the team lead didn't have me sign anything until an hour or so after they started moving stuff in. They also left everything that was wrapped in packing blankets all wrapped up, telling me they "weren't allowed to unwrap anything," and leaving me with dozens of giant cotton packing blankets. After a call to customer service, Clutter said the team was misinformed, and they were supposed to take those away with them. I was then told they were gonna come back between 2-3PM, at which point they arrived at 1:15PM (which would have been great, except I was just getting back from picking up some food). The team also didn't have any knives to remove the plastic/tape from the furniture that was all wrapped up. After they finished that up, the team lead offered to have his group stick around to assemble some furniture. The only issue was that I had to call customer service and tell them that was happening. After some back and forth with the team lead and customer service, they were told to go call their own dispatcher to confirm they were doing this. They then simply left without any notice. A call to customer service led to them telling me that the team was never supposed to offer that service in the first place. Not a huge deal, but definitely confusing. All in all, I got what I paid for. Clutter is dirt cheap. They gave me an Amazon gift card. They allowed me to move over multiple days. But there's so much ambiguity to the process that it can be frustrating for anyone working around a schedule. Not only do they do a bait and switch (they tell you after you've booked your storage unit that THEY QUOTED based on your items online, that you need more storage MID-MOVE!) How the F are you supposed to say no in the middle of your move! And it's a significant increase! Then for a small 1000sqft home with very little furniture they came late and took 5 hours to finish! Other people had the moving elevators booked and had to start late and it caused SO much stress and drama on an already stressful day. One person was a trainee so she was standing around doing nothing because they "hadn't given her a phone" to catalog with. They grossly overcharged me (their pricing structure is a scam, I checked with someone on the phone/customer service and she told me my estimate was right ($600), but when I got the bill, it was $1500. I've never paid that TOTAL for 5 moves I've had in my life. The refund they gave me? $45. Moving back in, they were late again and took just as long to move back. The guys were downstairs most of the time AND the person loading in the boxes left the cart in the hallway and was walking each box in, one by one! Is this how you train movers? I had to teach him how to move things faster and more efficiently. He just didn't seem to care. They lost a pillow of my specialty chair (they don't sell replacement pillows so I had to make do with random ones that don't match), they broke some stuff which whatever, I can deal with. I have moved three times in the last six years and used a different company each time. None were pleasant experiences to say the least. Several days ago, I moved for the fourth time and used Clutter. It was by far the best experience I've had with moving. Everything was easy -- the signup process, inventorying my items, facilitating the move, and the post-move follow-ups. Shout out to Josh for quarterbacking the crew on moving day -- he crushed it and deserved every cent of the tip. I also had multiple questions for customer service along the way, and they were responsive, clear, and helpful each time. In terms of price, I thought I would be paying a premium for the convenience and quality service, but the move ended up being in-line with the price of my other moves in recent years. The only feedback I have is that the online account portal / website flow isn't crisp and has some glitches, but it was nothing that caused me major frustration ... just minor annoyances. However, the drop-off was terrible. I tried to communicate with Clutter that I have to reserve an elevator, but the estimate I got on arrival time a week beforehand was hours off, so I had to beg my building and neighbor to work around my team's arrival. Then my team was rough with packages clearly labeled "fragile", and when I asked them to be more careful, they said that if anything is broken I can start a claim. I tried to provide instructions because my space is small and things needed to be unloaded in a specific order to maximize space but I was ignored and dismissed. Look, at least they didn't break any of my stuff. I booked a local move for a one bedroom apartment with Clutter. They quoted me the most competitive price and they had positive reviews here and elsewhere. They knew from the jump a detailed list of my belongings and that the old apartment was a third story walkup while the new apartment was a two story walkup. After arriving on time, I was given a revised quote which was more than twice as much as the original quote. The estimated move time had jumped up to 6.75 hours. Now, when I moved into that old apartment, I went with a different company. I paid about as much as the new estimate quoted and the move took about four hours. This time around I am, if anything, better prepared because I know what to expect. The team from Clutter started charging me at 8:35 AM. Dear reader, they did not leave my new apart until almost 6:00 PM. They did take a half hour lunch break. But it took them five hours just to load up the van! After lunch, they even called in someone else from dispatch to help them, "because of the heat." This move was scheduled for late August in Chicago from the beginning. If it was going to be too hot, they should have accommodated that from the beginning. I am frustrated, my cat has been trapped in a bathroom for more than eight hours, and I'm out a thousand bucks. For a local, 600 sq foot one bedroom apartment move. When I called Clutter to ask for an explanation or some compensation, they sent me a complaint form for their "team to look into." I am so very disappointed with Clutter. The crew in charge of moving my stuff out showed up over an hour late and then didn't finish due to " having another appointment". Then they tried to tell me I needed to wait another two weeks before someone could come out to move the rest of my stuff until I pitched a fit. The crew also left cigarette butts in my yard. Then when they moved my stuff back in there was no one supervising the crew of 2 teenagers who were VERY clumsy and dropped several items and caused our sideboard significant damage. They also badly scratched our cedar chest and refrigerator. As if that's not bad enough they scratched our new floor up and then didn't tell us about the significant damage to our sideboard or anything before leaving!! The only reason I give them one star is for their professional and kind customer service reps. The movers and managers are a joke. Don't waste your time or money. What an awful experience. read more

My team (Shaquille L., and Mecca) did a fantastic job! I had 20+ years of stuff and things to get through and was overwhelmed. Add to that, I was not organized. The team came in and began work immediately. They were efficient and fast. They worked on what I asked. They wrapped all furniture very well. I don't have concerns about damage. If I could give 0 starts I would. Currently Clutter is holding my items hostage and they refuse to deliver them. I had a time scheduled for them to deliver my items on Saturday 4/22/2023. The movers showed up and decided that because there was some construction going on in the building, they would not be able to deliver the items. The movers in the truck did not even have the curtesy to let me know that this was the case, they just drove away without any communication at all, and I later received a call from the company saying that they were cancelling my delivery. They rescheduled the delivery for Monday 4/24/2023 which I agreed to. Monday came and the arrival time was set between 7am and 10am. I was at the building by 7am and the movers showed up at around 8:45am. They parked the truck on the street for a while but did not get out of the truck. I went by the truck to talk to them and find out why they are not unloading my items, but they refused to talk to me and would not even get out of the truck. After about 30 minutes they drove away without a word. I then called Clutter and spoke to a lady by the name Melissa. She assured me that she will talk to her team and have them come back to the building to deliver my items. I waited but they did not show up. After about 30 minutes I called again and spoke to another gentleman who's name I do not remember. He then told me that my appointment was cancelled because of construction. There was no construction on site affecting the area that they were delivering. They refuse to deliver my items and now I have no furniture to move into my new apartment and nowhere to stay. They are saying that the only time they have available is 3 weeks from now on 5/12, which I have to continue paying for storage. I would like them to refund me for the stress and inconvenience caused and the additional cost for me to find a hotel to stay in. I have paid this company $660 for storage for the past two months and I would like to not pay anymore fees and also have my items delivered to me soon. The customer service team is totally unhelpful because they do not really care about the customer and the horrible situation, they have put me in. Do not use this company. read more

We are giving this one star as zero stars is not an option. I have held back on sharing a review because I never share negative reviews. However, NEVER use this company. They not only damaged a $600 television, but they also refused to replace it. Next, the tried to charge me for them cancelling an appointment six hours after we took off work and even made adjustments to our schedule. Their responses to issues they cause are never helpful and always in favor of the company, not the client. The cost is not worth the headache. read more

I highly recommend Clutter for your moving and storage needs. Ivan and Lukasz professionalism alone was impressive! They brought their own sturdy boxes, padding, bubble wrap, everything needed and the way they handled my personal belonging was incredible, wrapping each piece individually, logging everything, taking photos for inventory purposes, and carefully carrying each box, tote or piece of furniture down one and two flights of stairs! Never once gave the impression they did not want to be there helping me in my most vulnerable position! These two gentlemen went above and beyond to make my move smooth! I have an inventory list, I can ask for any or all of my things back anytime and they deliver them right to me! I hired clutter to assist with my move earlier this month. Found this company after seeing their truck in my complex assisting another resident with moving a few months earlier. I made sure to take a picture so that I could remember them when I needed them for my move. Went online and booked my appointment. Easy as pie. The day of the move Joshua, Michael and Drew showed up on time, eager to work and were very professional! Super friendly! These guys were moving at the speed of the light! They handled all of my items carefully and wrapped them well! Nothing was damaged during the move and it was a success! I loved the accessibility of my appointment through the website as well as how easy it was to sign all of the liability documents and pay. If you've never made a huge move, movers can be quite expensive and I found clutter to be affordable and reliable. Other family owned moving companies that I had researched prior to clutter wanted to charge me an arm and a leg and didn't even include the moving truck! So glad I found these guys! I will be recommending clutter to other people most definitely! read more
