DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!! This was the absolute WORST moving experience I have ever seen! This company overpromises, overcharges, damages your things, and under-delivers. They did everything possible to get our business an overcharged us to pack it all up. They stored our things for two weeks and was supposed to drop off less than half of the things, but ended up bringing most of the things in pieces (table top but no legs ect). They then charged up for the "supplemental drop off" because they didnt do their job the 1st time. Once I got all my things back over 20% of the breakable things were broken including my computer and TV. They will only replace it at $1 per pound!!! This company is a complete RIP OFF!!! read more

So, this week we've been preparing for a move to Las Vegas. Since my mom and my boyfriend and i are all moving around the same time, so we decided to share a truck and find some moving help to get some items out of my mom's storage unit. My boyfriend found a post for movers in a Craigslist ad and reached out to the Clutter team. Mom schedules a move from 10:00 to 12:00 for the next day. The storage facility opens at 9:30, so we get there to meet the movers and do some last minute packaging. 10:00 comes and goes and my mom and I are bringing items from the unit. I stay by my mom's phone to wait for the mover's call. NOTHING! We call company and they're trying to figure out where the moving crew is. 11:00 comes and goes. STILL NOTHING! By then, I'm starting to think its an infamous Craigslist scam. So my mom decides 'F--- it! Just cancel....we'll do it ourselves". My boyfriend calls to cancel. Shortly after the cancel call, we (my mom) get an email stating that if we cancel outside of the 48 hour cancellation window, she has to pay a $100 cancellation fee! WHAT?!? Your movers never made it at the time agreed.....the audacity to send an email for their negligence. Total lack of ethics and professionalism. Not once did we get a call saying....."our movers are late or there is a slight delay, but the movers are on their way please notify us when they arriv". Not even an "Oh we apologize for the delay or for failure to meet your moving needs at a timely fashion....would you like to reschedule with a $?? discount for our mistake". NOPE! So, 2 women (a woman over 60 and a 37 year old) moved what could be moved without the help of the team we expected to come to the rescue. I say go straight to U-Hauls website and find you a reputable company that will provide services at the agreed upon time and provide professional services. read more

I had a great experience with my movers and the customer service prior to my move!! More people should do their decluttering this way if they're not going to have a yard sale or get rid of stuff!! So happy I had the help with my packing since I have an injury, that was a big reason for choosing this company, plus it was FREE!! I just gave the men a good tip! Being by myself and not having help, this company completely saved me with my move. I really should have let them do more, because I tied myself out trying to help. And Brian really had everything under control. The stress that comes along with a big move, is made so much easier with Clutter, especially for an older person, and female. Clutter set my move for today at 0700, the team arrived around 0645 and was ready to go. The team lead walked the property to get an idea to see what I had and location. No questions asked they started off with the packing. Inspected what I packed, taking pictures, placing scan bars on the boxes and loading the truck. As they scanned the items I received txt messages at the 50% 75% and when they were complete showing me how much of my storage plane was being filled. This is the easiest and best move I have ever done. Highly recommend Clutter to move and store stuff! Outstanding job Clutter! Oh they are not expensive, I would have needed two 16x8 PODs to store what I received from Clutter. read more

I have long heard of the horrors of dealing with moving companies. At first with Clutter I thought I had found a great one.I just needed some items from the ground floor moved into the garage. Our floors were being redone. When I called to arrange the date to put the furniture back I was told the "rules" had now changed. What I had signed up for on August 7 was two movers with a 3 hour limit. Now I am told we have to have 3 movers at a higher rate. This for a job that took the first guys 40 minutes. This feels like a bait and switch technique. Certainly deceitful. I spoke to a supervisor who basically said too bad new rules. I cancelled them. They lie. read more

I rarely have used storage facilities but I decided to use MakeSpace before they were taken over by Clutter and since then they have been horrendous. Their new pricing is outrageous - $100/month compared to MakeSpace which was $58/month. If you decide to terminate your contract with them, they don't let you pick up and take your own items. They will only deliver your items to you at a $159 delivery fee + $70/labor rate. If you do want to go on site to take your items as a final pick up, you need to have professional third party movers do it. All in all - this was a horrible experience just trying to get my own stuff back after they switched from MakeSpace to Clutter and I wouldn't recommended Clutter to ANYONE due to the fees/difficulties you'll incur just trying to get your own stuff back. Imagine paying monthly for someone to hold your furniture, then return it to you destroyed. Why not just throw it away? I can't use it anymore. Then when I ask them for compensation they only pay pennies on the dollar. But, for a few thousand dollars, I'm not going to take them to court. They also took pictures of my items, so when I found I needed an item back, I made and appointment and they brought it back to me. I was very impressed with Rudy and Daniel, the movers who came to my house. They were very respectful of me and my things, and extremely efficient. I am scheduled to have my items returned towards the end of September. When all goes well, I will upgrade my rating to 5 stars. I just wanted to make sure my movers got recognition now. This was the first time I used Clutter and I highly recommend this company. I stored a large 2 bedroom apartment. The guys were very pleasant and efficient and completed the move in the expected time. With the app I was always on top of the move regarding labor and how much storage I required - it did increase a couple of times and I was not surprised. Everything was photographed and all furniture was professionally wrapped. I have no doubt I will receive my belongings in the same condition as before the move. I never write poorly about a company until now. I've had clutter for over a year now. The initial pick up of items went great they helped box everything took pictures of all my things and loaded it with ease. I have had things delivered to different locations throughout San Diego and everything was going great; Until I requested my mattress back! The movers were running late and my car was parked in the street. I went outside as they said they were here. I see the truck and movers speeding the opposite way through my neighbors yard as if they went to far and were trying to turn around or so I thought. At the time I thought nothing of this and figured oh well. They return about 5 mins later as I'm on the phone with dispatch. They bring my mattress in and are very friendly! They take my smaller mattress and put it in the truck and continue on their way. I go inside grab my things maybe takes 1 min and am walking to my car to go to the store. Mind you my car is on the street right across from where they had used my neighbors yard to speed through fast. My driver side rear door is smashed in as if they backed into it with the ramp on the back of their truck. I'm pissed I call and they said well did you see them hit it? Of course not or else I would have ripped them a new one. But the angle of where my car was and where they ran through my neighbors yard it was so easy to see that they had done it. The lady over the phone calms me down and tells me I have to wait for them to ask the drivers if they hit anything. About a week goes by and I finally get a call from the claims department stating the driver and people in the truck didn't hit anything. So that unless I had a witness their was nothing they could do. I'm pissed and livid at this point! Fast forward 8 months. I'm closing my account with them and getting all my items returned, I've had these movers before not the ones who hit my car so I leave that alone. They are amazing the lead guy does tell me tat upon my stuff getting to the warehouse and being put away my bed frame is damaged. He didn't do it but someone did at some point over the year n a half time I've had this storage. I don't yell at him or the guys cause they have nothing to do with this. I go and try and put in my claim, they tell me online if I don't have a link that specifically tells them how much my item is I will be getting $1lbs! No mind you my item is no longer sold at Jerome's. And I got it like 2 years ago so I have no idea what the item is called. It was $600 when I got it! That's a lot of money and that's not even including the interest I had to pay over the year of me paying it off. I do not recommend this company for storing your items. If you live on a narrow street I don't recommend them to come or to move your stuff! The guys are great that helped this last time. As I've said I've had them before and they were great! Well, I did not expect to write another review for Clutter considering my experience was not the best and clearly noted throughout my pervious reviews. Fast forward 6 months, I get a call from their customer service department. Adam K., contacted me and expressed how badly the company felt that they dropped the ball with my move. I shared that it was not the best and was rather surprised to be hearing from anyone so long past my purchase. Adam shared that he read my reviews, researched my experience and felt terrible I had not been taken care of in any way throughout or since it occurred. He then asked if it would be okay to send me a refund for my last month of service as he and the company felt badly about my experience. Ummm, yes please and thank you! Money can't buy a review, but it can earn some appreciation. I was also informed that several of the employees who worked their during my experience had been let go and the company has been remodeled to provide expert training to movers and staff. While my experience might not have been the best, I will consider giving this place another try. Wow!!!!!!!!! Ok. First off, Erfan and Shimmy blew my mind. They packed everything up, better than I could ever dream of. They were super kind, and extremely effective and helpful. Clutter as a whole outrageously blew my mind. I was faced with a super last minute move where I needed to box my entire life up in less than 2 weeks. Clutter not only offered the ONLY affordable storage solution, they had the most simple and stress relieving system. They came in, packed up my whole life, moved it into the van, then took it to the storage. Everything was photo documented and organized so that if I ever need anything, they can bring it right to me. I nearly cried when they said they'd do the entire move for me for under $170. I was really stressed about the move, but clutter has legit made it easier for me to transition to where I need to be. I'm beyond grateful to these guys who were so professional and patient, as my stuff was totally chaotic. I pray they get a fat raise because they deserve it. I opened my account with MakeSpace and everything was fine until Clutter acquired the business. I had them bring some items from storage because I needed them. First, the pictures were very sloppy. Pictures were taken of the top of the boxes which didn't help me because I didn't know what the heck was in the box. They tried to fix the picture mess. I paid much more than was quoted me to deliver items when I opened my account. Which was odd to me paying this crazy delivery fee for MY stuff. Anyway, I decided it was time to have personal access to my things instead of paying to deliver MY stuff. Clutter website says $385 to deliver and $85 dollars per hour. I was quoted $500 something dollars to deliver my items which is "highway robbery" and this is the price they brought it down too. I told Clutter, i can't afford that price!!!!! I went from a delivery fee of $150.00 to well over $500.00. I know San Diego has elevated prices for everything. I moved from Wisconsin to San Diego and used movers to help me load in Wisconsin and unload in San Diego and my bill for both places combined with not close to $500.00. One positive thing about this business is my monthly price never changed since I've been a customer but they get you by charging $150.00 or more an hour to delivery your stuff. Minus 1 star: their storage facility was unexpectedly closed on the day that I had originally requested my items to be returned to me. A big inconvenience but they offered to cover the entire cost for the return so, fine, whatever. Minus 1 star: The pick-up team forgot to label one of my containers so it didn't get added to my inventory or delivered to me. A talk with the customer service team did resolve the issue but honestly this shouldn't have even happened in the first place. Minus 1 star: I had some lamps put in storage. When I got them back, the plastic lamp shades were cracked. Minus 1 star: My computer chair was returned with a missing leg... Until they find the missing piece, I have to adjust my center of gravity every time I sit on my chair to prevent myself from falling on my face. Minus 1 star: The pick-up team decided to disassemble my TV from its stand but they just did it however they wanted to so it happened to be disassembled in a completely wrong way. I've put the TV together again but now it's not stable like before because the pick-up guys just played around with the attachments. This leaves us with a grand total of ZERO stars, but their customer service team was actually really helpful so they do deserve the 1 star. Overall, though, I had a TERRIBLE experience with Clutter. Update, Clutter called me to give me a $25 discount on the delivery of my storage. I also asked to be prorated for my monthly fee of $120.00. They agreed since my things would only be in their possession for 8 days out of February. They agreed and gave me an $80 discount. I suggested they prorate monthly fees accordingly. *** I will share with you my experience with Clutter. They charged by the hour per mover. I had two movers, and it took what I thought was a long time packing up my belongings. On the positive side, they wrapped every single thing very nicely. So it was $119.00 per month. I asked to have one of my pieces delivered to my home. They did, and after the charge, they informed me my storage monthly fee was going to increase by $80 per month to almost $200.00. I literally had two rooms worth of storage. Not much at all. On a positive note, I protested the increase, and they left it at $119.00 per month. Now, my mother is moving, and I wanted to give her the dining set out of my unit. I asked Clutter.com if her professional movers could pick that up along with her things. They said "NO." I would have to have it delivered to my address and charged per item, mileage, and mover fees. Then I asked if I could come to the facility and pick it up myself. They again said, "NO." And they further stated that I would have to book the release of my things 5 calendar days in advance. BUT they only count Mon-Thurs. Not 5 calendars that I'm aware of. So I booked a time to close out my storage and close my account with them completely. I booked it on 1/31/2021, it will not arrive until 2/8/2021. So heads-up folks! They've got some squirrely rules and regulations. read more

On August 28th, Efrain and Rudy came to move a condo worth of furniture to storage. Their service was exceptional and well organized. Every piece of furniture was wrapped in a blanket and then shrink wrap to provide a moisture barrier. The mattress was wrapped in a giant plastic bag. Fragile items were bubbled wrapped and packed in a box for easy transport. All item were photographed before and after packaging. All packages were labelled with a barcode. We were given a catalog list with pictures of all the items moved to Clutter for storage. What was most impressive about Efrain and Rudy was their respect for my furniture (mostly Ikea) and the care they gave to everything. I would use Clutter again and would recommend it highly. I am writing this as the truck pulls away. I cannot believe how fantastic of a job Derold and Taylor did. I have been so stressed out with my move so I decided to put my hefty burden into their hands and they left me with a smile. They packed everything really well. Everything that was wooden went into blankets like my son's crib and changing table. And then were wrapped again in plastic. They barcoded and took pictures of everything and packed it all so well. I was honestly skeptical when I decided to try this company out because seeing all the great reviews I was pretty wary. But nonetheless. They BY FAR held up to those five stars and deserve every single one of them. The customer service over the phone was great. I must've called them like 20 times in the 4 days up to my move changing things and they never batted an eye. And the movers were very personable and helpful with tasks that weren't even meant for them to do. Oh! And they gave me a box to use later! I needed one lol. Everything was going great, we were super impressed at first until it was time to get our stuff back. We did a whole house move/storage. It was obvious this was not something Clutter had done before based on each employee mentioning it. Even still, they exceeded our expectations on timeliness and handling any challenges that came up. But then, we scheduled our return 3 weeks in advance but were told, 2 days before, that they didn't have the capacity to return it all. They could only do half and the rest would take another week. I tediously went through the list with a staff member but somehow 5 major pieces didn't arrive. 3 of the pieces were for our beds so we were unable to set them up. After several calls that day and no resolve including a conversation with a management level person, I finally did my own investigation and within a few minutes, discovered where they were and scheduled a new delivery for 2 days later. Unfortunately though only 5 mins before they arrived, through text message, I learned that they wouldn't assemble the items even though that was part of the package we had purchased. Just two days before, they were preparing to assemble. Even after calling, they refused to honor the agreement. They did offer a $100 credit but that never happened. In addition to these challenges, many items were significantly damaged. Damages totalled over $3000 conservatively, plus another $800 in damage to the wood floors. I'm sincerely disappointed because it all started out so great. That being said, I believe if Clutter had more experience with large packages it would be better but also better training for their warehouse and truck loaders. The packers for the most part did great but when things have been wrapped well in thick blankets but blankets come back shredded, there's a problem. read more

I've had such an over the top excellent experience with this company. First of all the cost of movers plus the cost of storage plus the cost of getting help to pack your things are 3 separate services so anyone who has complained about the pricing should really consider JUST how much they're getting! The customer service over the phone was always friendly, a very how can we help you make your day great mentality and I love that. The online services make things super easy and is way more progressive than other storage units. And everyone from the support staff to the actually movers were so considerate.. and they LITERALLY do all of the heavy lifting. I highly recommend them just bc of my great experience but recommend them even more so in comparison to other services bc they are way more considerate and all inclusive, the price not being in the thousands is really just an added bonus. Since I was moving cross country they unloaded my things into my moving truck instead of a new house and packed things so expertly they saved me space in turn saving me money with the truck driving company.. even more perks! I have used Clutter multiple times and they are extremely professional and knowledgeable about properly wrapping and storing your items. I have had Clutter move over $80k in furniture and not a scratch, dropped or lost item. Everything is properly catalogued and you know the costs up front (which are extremely reasonable). The teams are always on time and bring their own tools and storage materials. Unlike the moving team of the new homeowners who bought my home, the Clutter team never damaged newly painted walls, broke furniture or came unprepared. Their professionalism meant that I never have to worry about furniture or finishings damaged, improperly wrapped furniture or any other horror stories that I experienced or you here about from neighbors. I agree with Austin P. who gave Clutter a bad review. I just got the last batch of my furniture delivered today. First, Clutter didn't tell me that they would make two deliveries, one last Monday and today (Friday) August 24th, 2018 so I had to wait for them twice this week. Then several items were damaged. I trusted them of my furniture thinking that they would be very careful of my furniture because they were carefully wrapped and I felt good about their workers transporting them to their warehouse last year. However, like Austin P (who gave Clutter a bad review also) our furniture were probably handled roughly in the warehouse where Clutter stores them. The delivery guys were good people and unloaded my furniture carefully. Victor and his partner delivered my furniture last Monday and Ricardo and his partner today, Friday, these people should be rewarded of their hard work. Clutter would only give you 60 cents per pound on a damaged furniture but what Clutter doesn't understand is that paying us doesn't bring back the original looks of our furniture. You can keep your money just return our items the way they were when they were picked up. read more

My husband hired this company to store our stuff in between selling our home and moving into another. Our stuff was being stored off-site in Orange County not locally in SD so the price was competitive. By the time I found out from my husband that our stuff is stored in another city, I wasn't to thrill. Come moving day, the movers were quick and efficient. The day we needed our stuff moved to the new house, they had rescheduled our appointment TWICE. Come to find out, we had several missing boxes that they could not locate. Their excuse, we are in between moving into another bigger warehouse and that's when our stuff went missing. I wasn't informed at all and they rescheduled because they were trying to buy time. As they showed up to my new house is when the movers told us we had several boxes missing..... I am super furious. These things were nearly over 4k including trunk/trade shows costume jewelries that went missing. My husband bought insurance but it still didn't cover what we could replace. Worse part, no managers available on weekends to take calls when it's the most busiest time! Take your business elsewhere and save the headache. read more

Thought it would be a smooth process in getting by items back, infortunately, the bed frame was damaged in the warehouse, some crystal glass were broken, and worst of all my PS4 was "lost". If an item getd scanned right before is loaded to the reuck and its not at the origin...it was stolen in my point of view. And if that was not all, my dining table made from iron was also damage amd unusable. That max insurance of 2500 is a joke. In the start of the claim process but my losses are way above 2500. Now that items were brought, i can say the pick up was not great as i was told a certain storage size and it ended up 200 dollars more as they estimated.
