DO YOUR RESEARCH!! 0 stars!!! I don't know how this company is still in business. I am so very disappointed and dissatisfied beyond belief. When you hire a moving company you expect it to be a stress free, easy, quick and efficient process. NOT if you hire this company. We had our 2 bedroom apartment FULLY packed up. 98% of our boxes were stacked in our dining room and everything was ready to go. The 2 movers that showed up at our door should have been able to do this fairly quickly. Instead they took over 4 HOURS just to move everything downstairs with an elevator. I'm convinced they were taking down one box at a time and absolutely milking the clock and taking smoke breaks when we were not present. When we were there, there was a period of time where no moving/ no movers were in our apartment or downstairs loading things into the truck. They are VERY SLOW!!! I cannot stress that enough. Then the OWNER Michael called me just to tell me that he doesn't understand why I'm upset and that the movers can leave my stuff on the ground and we can finish the move ourselves. The way that this "company" handles customer service is WILDLY inappropriate. Once they finally got to our new house at 7pm. They refused to unload our things without receiving full payment first. They said they could come back in the morning and us not having a bed to sleep on or a bassinet for our 3 month baby "wasn't his problem and we should have moved ourselves". We ended up helping them unload the truck along with my dad and brother and we got everything done in 1 hour. They don't give change even though they insist on being paid in cash forcing any kind of tip they can get. THEN they charged an additional $150 on my card with a 7% fee without consulting me first because they said they had no record of my deposit which I pulled up and showed them. They wanted me to write down my debit card information and sign for things I did not agree with. This company is a bunch of thieves and they are a complete scam. I will warn anybody and everyone to NEVER use this company. Additionally when we asked where some of our items were, they said they left them at our old apartment. This included a GIANT box in the master walk in closet, a vacuum, trash can, Swiffer, a step latter, and broom on the porch. I think we ended up moving more things than the company to be completely honest. The fact that we had to go back and pick up more of our items that we paid HEAVILY to be moved that wernt is disturbing. Update!! We turned on our BRAND NEW tv this morning. And despite it being wrapped in a blanket and shrink wrap it was still dropped and is now broken. Additionally they got BLOOD on my baby's bassinet and bent one of the legs on it. They broke the feet on our couch so we had to remove them. They are supposed to put back together anything they took apart and they did not. They also did not take the shrink wrap off of everything they put it on. You can guarantee that if this company does not pay to replace my damaged items I will ABSOLUTELY be taking them to small claims court. read more

I am reposting this review after it was previously removed due to circumstances unrelated to the accuracy of my experience. I do not recommend Cali Moving and Storage. My move was April 2025. I will keep this review on Yelp forever. I do not want anyone to have to experience what my family and I had to endure dealing with Cali Moving and Storage. I arranged with their office to move all heavy items and anything else that would fit in the truck from my 3-bedroom home. The foreman arrived, exaggerated the job by claiming I had "250 boxes," then called the office speaking in another language. I didn't understand it, but I clearly heard "250" again. They brought a small truck and loaded lighter items first, ignoring priority furniture. While they did take my freezer, couch, and dresser, they left dozens of bins, two kitchen chairs, and other items behind. At the new home, they refused to move items upstairs, saying they were too big and left the couch and freezer on the curb. I yelled from the balcony, "you cant just leave them on the street!!" They shrugged their shoulders and then pushed them into my parking space, where they sat until I found another mover. That night, my husband moved all boxes that were left in the old house by himself. The next day, Sullivan Moving & Storage, a truly professional company, completed the job in minutes. 5 guys all in their 70's moved the freezer and my couch upstairs off the car port; my bedroom dresser was taken out of the middle of my living room and taken upstairs into the bedroom where it rightfully belonged. I truly believe we were dealing with very inexperienced movers that really did not know how to bring those items upstairs and made excuses that they were too big and too tall to make the corners of the stairs. Cali offered a $100 refund, which was actually just my original deposit that was already owed back to me. The office personnel were rude and argumentive; they even attempted to pay me to remove this review, which I declined. This experience cost us time, money, and stress. I booked this company after being reassured multiple times by Dave that they were professional and efficient. He called me almost daily when trying to secure my business. Once the job was done and I voiced my concerns, I haven't heard a single word back. The movers were polite, but that's where the positives end. The move was painfully slow, unorganized, and unprofessional. I had already moved most of my small items myself (clothes, mirrors, plants), leaving them with boxes, a bed, and two couches, a desk and my dining table. Yet it still took them six hours for a one-bedroom move with a 15-minute drive. For reference, my sister just moved a five-bedroom home from Temecula to Palm Springs (including a 1.5-hour drive), and their movers finished in eight hours and they were charged just a little more than what I paid! They lost parts, stacked boxes that weren't supposed to be stacked, left everything unorganized, and even smoked in the truck despite clear "no smoking" signs in my complex. At one point I was helping them unload the truck, because they were going so slow! I had to take an extra day off work to clean and pick up what they left behind. When I reached out to share my experience, no one responded. It's unfortunate because I expected professional service and accountability, and got neither. The owner of the company reached out to make it right, so my issue with being accidentally overcharged has been resolved. The world is about giving people the chance to resolve issues, and Cali Moving did just that. First off, the guys did a good job of wrapping and protecting and loading things for the most part. They DID put tape directly onto a couple areas of wood and on the leather of the couch which removed finish after I warned them not to put tape directly onto any piece of furniture, but it's pretty difficult to move without some kind of damage. And they otherwise did a great job of protecting things with blankets and plastic wrap. This is the part that was later resolved after I made my review, so make sure you go the extra step to speak to a supervisor/owner if you are not satisfied... Take note of when the crew arrives and when they wrap up. You get charged on the 15 minute increment after the 3 hour minimum. They explained that you get charged "double drive time" which is twice the time it takes for them to drive from their location to your house (which makes sense). My guys showed up around 3:50pm, they worked until 7pm (when they made the phone call to their office). They billed me for 3.5 hours of work plus 1 hour of drive time noting 3:45-7:01 of work time, and since they moved up their arrival time and noted 7:01, they got they added an extra 1/4 hour because at 1 minute past the hour it was into the next 15 minute increment. So because they showed up around 3:50pm and finished at 7:01, I initially got dinged on the front end for the 10 minutes in the first quarter hour (apparently) and then dinged again on the tail end for 1 minute. So you should verify with them their arrival time and double check numbers when they depart. Initially, I tried to ask the movers to resolve it and they said they couldn't, so I reached out to the sales rep, but ultimately it was the owner who resolved the matter. The guys automatically add their tip to the bill, so be prepared for that. You should tip movers anyway, so it's not a problem. I would use them again. read more

The movers scammed us out of about $1,000. I tried calling the company to give them the opportunity to fix it and I never heard back from management. The movers started wrapping everything with their seran wrap without our consent. We thought their company made them do this for liability purposes. Because they wrapped everything, they took 8.5 hours to load and unload our 2 bedroom apartment. We're experienced movers and we had everything ready to go. Our moves have never been more than 4 hours and we even reserved a large loading elevator that should have been completely loaded up for each trip and instead they put whatever was on their dolly down each time. Unfortunately there was also a language barrier so we were unable to properly communicate with them. At the end of the move we were charged $200 for materials, which was the wrap we never asked for. We actually have a text saying we only needed our two mirrors and tvs covered. And because it took them so long to move we also had to pay for an extra 4 hours with a credit card which added an extra $250 on top of the $200 materials and 4 extra hours. The movers also ended their move at 5 pm we waited 15-20 minutes for them to come back for payment and they tacked on an extra 30 min for the time it took for them to come back for payment. I feel completely violated by this experience, scamming us and stealing our money in our own home. I am now struggling financially because of this and on top of that it put us in an uncomfortable situation which has really messed with me mentally and emotionally. I will have to report this company if I never hear anything back, I will also update this review if things are made right. Spending $1500 to move a 2 bedroom apartment one mile up the road is absolutely disgusting and not receiving a call back from management tells me that this company is a complete scam. Also we gave them a card over the phone and they asked for us to write down our credit card on their paperwork which felt wrong. I don't like writing our card info down and we were never told that we would need to. Edit: I had a very unpleasant call with Michael/Mikhail I voiced how upset I was by the whole situation, I am an experienced move with my last one being 6 months ago and I have never had to deal with someone who shamelessly lies and steals from people. He said we received an email with the fees of plastic wrap which is not true. He also said that I should have been telling his professionals what to do during the move. He told me I should have been following them and making sure they were making good use of their time. I would have rather moved the items myself than follow professionals around telling them how to do their job or not to scam us. He threatened to bring the two movers to our apartment along with him and cops. He told me there was no way for his movers to know how long it would take before the end of the move resulting in not knowing how much it was going to cost but somehow he expected us to go back to the bank mid move to pull out more cash to pay with the discounted cash price. Anyway I'm going to work on reporting this company, please learn from our mistake in trusting this company. Dave called me and explained everything in detail to include making some very helpful suggestions. Ross, Tony, George did a great job moving our stuff from our storage unit to our new home. My husband mostly dealt with them since I was pregnant and couldn't do anything. He said they were fast and listened well. They did a good job. We only wanted a certain amount of time or else it'll just take forever. One thing was the truck was a little smaller than what we are used to from other living companies. So we had some stuff left over that we couldn't fit in the truck, but minor stuff that took us one trip with our storage unit moving truck. Before the move, Dave contacted me for quotes and since we were buying a new home, we didn't know the closing day. Dave followed up every time I asked him to. They send over another guy telling me, then they call me. And tell me I have to pay an extra $65 an hour, and it was like I couldn't say no I said no. I said no several times I am not paying it this like they wouldn't. Listen wouldn't listen. Wouldn't get off the phone called me like 15 more times 20 more times during the whole entire move, then on top of that, unbeknownst. To me, I put a $100 for my deposit on a card. And since he had that card number, he just went in my bank account. And took out another $188. Without my knowledge, I didn't find out until the next day. What a thief you cannot do that. You cannot go into people's bank accounts and take out any more money that wasn't authorized. This was not a card on file is just something I used for my $100 deposit. What aceive their crooked? We used them to move from san diego to the norcal area recently, and overall, the experience was pretty disappointing. First the good: They were very responsive when they were trying to earn my business, and I appreciated that. On the day of the move, they were on time and organized. The entire crew that came to pack were hardworking and courteous. They promised a 3 day move and delivered. The bad: They asked us to mark every box and and every room where boxes needed to be put on delivery but on the day of the delivery they left in a hurry, half the boxes that were marked with room names were left in the garage ..left for us to move on our own. Our most expensive dining table is now permanently wobbly and requires a professional carpenter to fix. All our TV legs are missing the screws, our TV mount is missing all screws. I am sure someday I will find it, but part of the problem for a professional moving organization is getting these things right, which they did nit. As great as they were while pqcking, they were equally lazy or just did not care while delivering our stuff. We had cheaper quotes, but we're impressed with their reputation and interaction. Showed up late. I had everything in boxes ready to go except for tv and a dresser. Added on hidden fees for using a blanket. My mattress was no handled properly cuz it was smushed in on one side suddenly. It was a total of 3 hours from start to finish for my ONE BEDROOM to be moved in a studio an they charged double for drive time an all their extra random bs they said they used and then they add a huge tip onto the cost of what was already a rip off. Tried making me pay $800 out the door with their added TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR tip. $600 was already a rip off for the move but I wasn't going to argue I should of asked for a quote but I needed someone asap and they never spoke about their fees for all the extra bs. I ended up tipping $40 to each of the two guys and I can see the face of the guy how annoyed he was that I don't give him what he wanted. I have no issue with their service it was how they wasted a lot of time talking and not trying to get the job completed as quickly as possible. Also wasn't aware of the location items were going to be stored. The employee was looking at a previous job paperwork from the day before instead of the current job not realizing the items were going to another city not local to San Diego. This took much longer than it should have if they came prepared and knew the logistics. I was not happy that this move took 9 hrs from the time they arrived at the house in San Diego at 8:30 am loaded the truck drove to the Murrieta storage unit during rush hour unloaded and left storage unit at 9:00pm. It should not have taken this long poor communication with the employees caused this unnecessary result for this move. read more

They quoted for a price for a delivery within 2 weeks. One day before their 2 week deadline the consultant contacted me stating it would be another 2 weeks due to their vehicle problems. I got a call on 11/11/24 stating that my stuff would be delivered by 11/13/24 m. I asked Ana, who is the GM how I'd pay the remaining balance in cash since they were 8 days late. She stated I was given a discounted price due to this. (That is false by the way, my discounted rate was because I had 10 items and it was for 2 weeks.) Upon agreeing to their quote they sent me an email with everything stating a time to pick up my stuff from my old place and a 2 week delivery. They also send you an electronic booklet from the CSMA stating rules. According to the booklet Cali Moving should pay you $100 per day for everyday they are late. My stuff was 8 days late, so $800 right? Not at all. The driver arrived to my place and I asked to speak with the owner Mike aka Mikhail and he said there was no way he could do that for me and that I was in the wrong (in other words). Then while on the phone with Mike, he stated that he would start charging me $200/hour for standby time because the driver hasn't started to unload yet. Mind you we were on the phone for 2 minutes. The fact he tried to verbally strong arm me in very unprofessional. STAY AWAY from the company and don't even engage with Ana. Ana is a complete unprofessional woman who has attitude and doesn't care about the customers. If there's one way to make this right it would be to honor the $100/day for 8 days late and only make me pay the remaining balance. They did not offer that. I am now taking them to small claims. I shopped around before choosing Cali Moving. Even though they weren't the cheapest around town, I have no regrets with my choice. I had tentatively scheduled a move pending escrow on my new home. Mike communicated well as there were several delays & rescheduling on my end. He was able to provide a 3 man crew with less than a day notice. Randy & his team showed up on time to my storage, loaded my belongings from a 2 bedroom condo, delivered it over an hour away and unloaded to whichever room it needed to go to in 5 hours. The guys did a pretty good job with a couple of exceptions: 1) They charged us the full $175 change fee with no discount even though the reason for the delay was the unanticipated death of a family member. They could've at least said sorry for your loss and we'll waive part or all of the fee 2) Also, they didn't listen to any of our instructions and just moved whatever they wanted whenever they wanted. The result was most of my clothes, including all socks and underwear, were packed all the way in the back of a pod and inaccessible so now I have to go out and buy all new clothes for my first day of work on Monday. I gave them clear instructions not to move any boxes/small stuff without checking with me first and they did not listen or understand. You have to completely supervise them to make sure this doesn't happen to you. We couldn't because we have a young baby and we're still packing. DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. They will try to scam you at every possible opportunity. I booked them to move a couch, tv, bed, and grill. They quoted 3 hours, $350 total ($99/hour, $50 truck fee). The movers went as slow as possible and took 3 hours just to take those 4 items to the car. In total, it took 5 hours. They tried to charged me for 6 hours. The driving time is doubled, and somehow they charged me a half hour for a 7 minute drive (doubled should be 14). Then when I told them that they're charging for too much, they said that they arrived 10 minutes before they actually did. Then after 20 minutes of arguing, they said they'd charge me for that time too. They constantly brought up things that were not mentioned during their sales calls. There was never a mention for charging for TVs, but now they magically waived the $100 TV fee. The movers called their boss John and he was combative and just yelled at me that "why do I get to set the rates" while they're trying to overcharge a full hour after wasting a ton of my time. Overall this is by far the worst moving experience I've had. They have terrible business practices and will try to steal your money. Go with literally any other moving company. read more

They seemed reasonable when I got a quote and was consistently followed up. During one of those calls, I gave it in and provided my card details to be added to the file (and not charged), even though I was completely flexible on the moving date. So far so good. The problem arose when I realized all the competitive quotes are way cheaper. I called the person within 15 minutes of placing the order. My only request was to either match the price or cancel the booking. That's when I realized a complete 180 degree turn in customer service. First, they tried to politely say that they are the best. I then gave them competitor details who were actually better rated. In the end, they told me that either I have to stick to their price or pay $100 for cancellation and booking expenses.
