After an unsuccessful attempt by my general fix-it man and another company that did not service Samsung washers, I found Clyde on Yelp. He responded quickly, I sent pictures of the issues, he found the part I needed and indicated that he'd charge $329 to repair my washer. That sounded pretty expensive to me, but definitely better than the cost of a new washer. Although he was originally scheduled to repair my washer on a Tuesday between 1-3pm, when I didn't hear from him by 3pm I reached out and found out that he was delayed. I understand how appointments can take longer than anticipated - I just would have preferred that he communicated he was running behind. We rescheduled for the following day. When he came to fix the machine, it took perhaps 30 minutes max. Excellent! And Clyde was personable and seemed very knowledgeable. He indicated that the part was $185 (although typically they receive discounts and my fix-it person purchased the same part for $115). So assuming Clyde received a comparable discount, that means he made $200+ in profit for my service. Clearly a good gig for him...but really expensive for me. I haven't used the washer yet, but it worked during Clyde's test runs. Assuming this issue is fixed, I'd definitely recommend him - just know that he's on the expensive side (which he admitted during our conversation). Again, cheaper than purchasing a new machine, but since it literally took less than 30 minutes to fix - I wish he would have provided me a lower price once he realized it was a relatively quick fix. Update 8/4/17 So, I ultimately had to call Clyde back two more times for the issue. As I'm in the process of relocating, I haven't been in town very often and noticed that the washer sounds really, really loud during a certain cycle. I wasn't paying close enough attention to the end of the 90-day warranty, so of course when I just contacted him regarding the latest issue, there's an $89 service charge. While I do believe he's a nice guy and it was my fault for not contacting him sooner - since it's not even two weeks outside of the warranty and he's had to return twice already - just seems that he would waive the service call fee and just charge me if the problem is different than the one he already fixed. read more

He is 1. Not reliable. Two separate appointments where we took off work to be there to let him and both times he was more than two hours late. 2. He is not competent. After waiting almost two weeks for a part to come in it ended up being the wrong part. 3. He is not considerate. He had no concern or urgency about the fact that we had no washing machine for over two weeks with a one year old! You will end up chasing him around for your answers and follow up. His install came after he did not show up for an appointment so we rescheduled. Now, I'm out $500 and the oven is still not fixed. He ordered another part to try and fix it. Started off Monday morning with my refrigerator on the fritz. I was about to replace it since it's a 1996 model, but called Clyde first to get his opinion. This was our second time having him come to our home. He was able to come out same-day and take a look. He arrived within the stated window of time and established that it was a relatively simple part to fix and gave advice on the repair vs. replace dilemma. Ultimately, I'm glad we went with repair because there are not many refrigerators in stock in the size we'd need. Clyde was able to get the part by the next day and it was installed by Derek. Both gentlemen were friendly and a pleasure to work with. I appreciated the text alerts letting me know they were on their way. Derek replaced the part quickly and even offered to put all the shelving back in the fridge for me that I had pulled out and washed. It was also convenient that I was able to pay via credit card. I had Clyde repair my LG washer and dryer last winter and everything was great. In August the motor went out in my dryer and he came out to repair. Within a month, it was making loud noises. He came back out and said the there was a loose part, which he "fixed". That night the dryer was worse. I sent him a video and he said the blower wheel must be bad and he would order a new one and should be in in a couple of days. That was September 25. Since then I have left numerous text and voice mail messages in which he has not answered. At least have a courtesy to people that have paid good money to have you repair their appliances to tell them something, not just blow them off. If I could give 0 stars, I would. read more

I had done business for 17 years with A-1 Appliance repair with no issues. Their Number was given to Ace Repair Service. On 8/2/17 the issues began when they diagnosed the leakage in my dishwasher to be a seal. Second visit by another technician determined the dishwasher to be to costly to repair so I figured I am paying for a service call anyway, may as well have him take a look at my drier that didn't function well on the permanent press cycle He determined a new part was needed. Part did not cure the problem. Re-ordered another part taking over 2 weeks. Appoint date to install said part was today between 8 and 9. It is now noon and I have yet to receive a call. The company has voice mail and Clyde has voice mail. My next step will be the BBB. read more

He doesn't even deserve a 1. We called him to fix our washer, which he did. When he was here he suggested we replace hosing on the washer (that had nothing to do with our initial problem), which also connects to the dryer. He then disconnected the water hook-up to our DRYER, which runs a steam feature, and then told me he didn't have the part to replace the hose after going to his truck. Came back out a week later, with the wrong part this time, and said he'd have to order it directly from Maytag. We've left several messages, and have never heard from him again. So now, we have to hire and pay someone to reconnect our dryer, and that's not what we called him out for in the first place! To say I'm livid is an understatement. Do NOT use this guy!!!! read more

Made an appointment to fix my fridge. Clyde decided it needed a new main board and was supposed to order one. A month later after numerous voicemails he calls back and tells me it's on back order and won't be in for another month. Ended up ordering the part myself. The fridge stops working hours after him installing the new part. He comes back and replaces another part and sure enough the fridge stops working hours after he leaves. He promised he will figure out what is wrong with the fridge and was supposed to order another part but he stopped returning my calls and texts all together. Ended up having a manufacturer certified repair man fixing the fridge. There was nothing wrong with the original main board. I don't usually leave a review unless it's a good one but the lack of professionalism in this case it's just too much. read more

Clyde provided exceptional service for repair of my LG stove. He called to advise me that he was running late and confirmed that he was on his way. Since I was his last appt., he could have easily put me off to the next day, but he didn't. I called for a problem with a refrigerator and left a message and received a return call in less than 20 minutes. Derek couldnt get out until the next day which was no problem considering it was late in the day. He have me a 2 hour window he would arrive and called 15 minutes prior to arriving and was RIGHT ON TIME! He had the problem diagnosed within 15 minutes, showed it to me and explained what happened (I have some experience with appliance repairs) had it fixed and was out the door with a service call cost that was beyond reasonable compared to most companies I have used for our property management company service calls. Great service. My appointment slot was set for 11am-1pm. Clyde called at 11 and said he was on his way. He was polite and professional. Looked at our washing machine and determined the issue. Luckily he had the parts with him and was able to fix the washing machine that same day. Price was reasonable and he was finished within an hour. Washing machine works great and he assured us that he could come back if there were any issues with the new parts as his service has a warranty. I guess I'm the first to have a not so positive experience with this business. I did give 2 stars for the simple fact that when I called, they were able to have someone come out in a very timely manner, and I appreciated that. They told me that the problem with my dishwasher was the seal, and that the part was on back order and would take 1-2 weeks to come in and they would call me. No big deal. 3 weeks later... I start to wonder why I haven't gotten a phone call. I called, and was told they couldn't find the order OR the shipping tracking number and needed to know my model number again for the dishwasher. Funny because I then found out that my part would be in THE NEXT DAY! How ironic! In the meantime, I went online to sears direct and found the door seal IN STOCK online for $9.95! For a $10 part, they were charging me $169 for install and part for a fix that would take them probably 30 min. Thats a huge profit IMO. I ended up ordering the part myself from Sears. Again, the guy who came to diagnose the problem seemed nice enough, but customer service since hasn't been up to par for a company that charges $160 for a simple repair. read more

I'm in the service business and would like to post something for the first time ever. I called Clyde the appliance guy and set an appointment to look at 4 different items in my home. He showed up and looked at everything and said I needed a new refrigerator, had to order rollers for the Samsung dryer, needed to order a part for Dacor oven and turned on the ice maker and said to let him know if it was dropping ice. He left saying he would call me when all the parts were in and come back. A week passed and I called and left a message. After a couple more days I called and left another message to again not get a call back. My wife called the following week and left another message and still no return call. To this day we still haven't heard from him and moved on to another company. I'm shocked he's still in business! I wouldn't have minded if he called and said he didn't want to finish the job but to NEVER return a call is absolutely ridiculous. Be AWARE! read more

Called clydes for an oven repair. First time out diagnosed as heating element then came and installed heating element and then they said that wasn't the problem and diagnosed as a electrical board that we already had replaced 2 years earlier for 500 so we said no. We purchased new oven. Clyde said he would come out to install. He never showed up for apptmnt and never returned phone calls. Even in the beginning he didn't return phone calls until multiple calls to him. So if someone doesn't call you after several attempts it is a good indication of their work.
