I just got a bill and cannot get anyone to call me back. I have not used this servcie AT ALL. Be aware when receiving a bill from this co.

Worst company ever!!!!! We all go through struggles at some point in life and we try to fix them as much as we can so I got into a repayment plan with this people for a bill from 3 years ago that was in collections and I had never heard of that bill!! So I got into a repayment plan and I call them to change this months payment to 1 week later because I had to use the funds for an emergency and all they say is I have to call 10 days prior to cancel a payment!!! They are NOT in the business of resolving debt! They keep calling about one debt that I paid years ago! And believe me I have made many payments to various creditors PAID IN FULL! Now they are saying I have two outstanding debts! I'm trying to figure out HOW??? Somehow the payments that I have made go into a deep abyss! I have tried emailing PROOF of my payments. Total scamola. I don't know how they got my name, but within a few days of my visiting a radiology clinic, these guys sent me a letter saying I owed them $250. When I called the clinic they couldn't understand what happened (their paperwork typically takes weeks to turn around). When I called CMRE they were mostly focused on getting my contact info - which duhhh i didn't realize until half way through was probably so they could start the harassing collections calls. This is, of course, covered by my insurance, and I already paid the co-pay, so they are presumably just trying to horn in and get me to pay twice. The one thing I can't figure is where they got my info from. Did someone dig through my garbage? Was the radiology clinic hacked? UGHHHH! read more

All a bunch of idiots, put me into collection because they got returned mail. The only problem was it wasn't my address, so I politely asked them to remove it which the did by alerting the credit bureaus. Unfortunately when you're in the middle of the loan process lenders don't care. So they sent me a faxed letter with the original wrong address and no where on the letter does it say that they made the mistake it looks like i was at fault and paid the derogatory loan. When I called and asked them to revise it i got voicemail without a return call and no one can help me yet. The person that I spoke too Lisa Mendoza appears to be too busy and doesn't care. I have never been delinquent ever and now i have to deal with idiots. read more

In July 2012, I wrote: BEWARE -- BEWARE -- BEWARE Like everyone else, I found this company to be scary and highly questionable. They have been leaving automated messages for my husband at MY work number supposedly for an outstanding debt with UCLA. This was weird because my husband has NEVER been provided service by UCLA and why would be calling him on MY work number? When I called CMRE, they wouldn't give me any details of the so-called debt unless I gave them other pieces of personal information, for which I refused. ======= Updated Review February 2017: I have now deleted the above review. I am so very sorry, and deeply apologize to CMRE, for my previous inappropriate review. It turns out that they are a collection agency for UCLA. And I didn't recognize UCLA's debt when CMRE called, because it was associated with a medical clinic who uses UCLA's pathology dept. So when I got a call saying we owed $ because a UCLA bad debit, I had no idea what they were talking about. Somehow (still don't know why), UCLA had mistakenly sent to CMRE information on a bill we already paid for in 2011. I just happened to trip over this information recently. After some due diligence on UCLA's part, UCLA called up CMRE, and had this corrected. CMRE wrote us a letter telling me that the "debt" has now been removed from their records, and apologized for any inconvenience. Anyway, to clear this up, I called CMRE two times, and spoke with Steven and Logan. They both could not have been nicer and were so very helpful (for Steven, this was before we found out that this was all a mistake). I told Logan of my prior 2012 Yelp review and my rather scathing verbal response to their rep when she called in July 2012; apparently that rep had made detailed notes of my thinking she was trying to scam us (smile). Interestingly, for UCLA, CMRE often does not send such bad debt information to the credit agencies. Wow - that's nice of them. At least, this is one less thing we had to worry about. read more

They just RE AGED an old medical debt on my credit report in an attempt to prolong the time frame to collect. This is an illegal act on which I plan to sue unless they remove the account from my credit and close the account. I'm a us veteran and they know they should be dealing with the va. Yes, very NOT helpful. I received a notice from them that I owed $1600 for medical bills that I had already paid. I had a balance due of $0.00. The woman I spoke to ( really wish I had gotten her name) was very rude and NOT helpful at all. Wow. I've never written a review before but her rudeness just called out to be called out. These guys are the worst collection company around. They don't get the facts then hit up your credit report even if you have insurance. Talking legal action against them. I'm hoping to put this type of agency out of business.You should always ask who the emergency room uses to collect if they go with these folks, drive to the next emergency room. I am suing these guys for a false statement, you should too. I understand the collection needs but they ER and hospital was paid a co pay and billed my PPO insurance for a 10 min visit. They refuse to respond in writing (as I have requested numerous times) so now I will be forced to file a complaint with the FTC. Please do not have a phone conversation with these scam artists! They called me with a recorded message to call them back. It was early and I was hung over from watching 4 metal bands at a bar the night before. This company is a joke. They called me, gave me my 'account number' then transferred me to an automated payment line that didn't work. I was transferred back to a customer service (I use that title very loosely) who told me to make it easy on myself and just use the web site. I called back to speak to a manager, and was transferred to an automated line that asked to enter my mailbox number. Wait Wait Wait... Did I just give a collections agency a 5 star? For "Collection Scum" to achieve such a high score, they would have to do something so extraordinary and incredible that you would HAVE TO post it here on YELP. They would have to work with you every step of the way to get the account resolved. They would have to treat you with absolute profecinalism and attention to detail that it would actualy make you consider paying a bill that was not supposed to be paid. They would have to work with their client to work to resolve a bill that has been forgiven. They would have to smile and put you at ease, while still upholding the needs of their own company. Well that is EXACTLY what happened to me. I was working with Lisa at CMRE. I am NOT saying that she did some magic to make my bill go away. Had it been determined that I did in fact own this bill, I would have paid it to them... no questions. Lisa was so amazing through the entire process that I could not ignor her. CMRE is awful! They have terrible customer service and attempted to collect a nonexistent debt from me. I tried to deal with this by sharing supporting documents, but I still received automated calls. I called again to let them know I already paid the debt, but the first person I talked to said my documents proved nothing and that I still owed a completely different amount. Frustrated, I asked to speak to a manager and the call person sent me to a full voice mail (I COULDN'T TALK TO ANYONE!). I tried calling again and asked for Spanish speaker in hopes of receiving a different call person. Luckily, the second person was a little better to work with. While figuring out what was going on, I decided I didn't want to deal with it anymore, so I cut my losses and paid the amount I "owed". I confirmed that it wouldn't impact my credit (my biggest concern) and that I would receive a confirmation letter that the account is closed. I really hope they keep their word and will update my review in the future depending on whether or not I receive what I was promised or whether I continue to get automated messages. read more

I received a phone call from this company, that I had never heard of. They repeatedly refused to tell me what CMRE was, stating that first I had to confirm who I was for them to discuss the "important financial business." I had already told them that I was the person they sought. In my opinion, a legitimate company is not afraid of fully disclosing who they are. In addition, they called on my cell phone, which number I only give judiciously, so they had no authorization to call on my cell. They told me I was the one being rude to not confirm who I was, and told me that I would get something in the mail. After the call, I googled the company and found that they have a C- rating with BBB, with 193 complaints. Most allege that CMRE takes their money, with no reconciliation to any actual bill. I don't have any outstanding bills that are not accounted for, so they have no reason to contact me as a collection agency. They reek of scam. I will watch for their mail, and will not hesitate to file further complaint. read more

I question everyone this, I dont doubt that they are a scam, but if in the event they are. Why is it hitting my credit report that I have not paid them? I have been successful in getting ahold of their customer service. You can even pay online. Given some have had some BAD experiences as you may see below... Im trying to determine, is this medical bill thats hitting my credit by CMRE and lowered it 47 points from one bill really legitimate or a fake like everyone is claiming? This organization perpetuates consumer fraud. They contact me with a misspelled and mispronounced last name claiming I owe them money. They won't tell me who the charge is related to so I can verify the legitimacy of the charge. Instead, I have to give them my private information. Nope, I should be able to give you the reference number and you tell me who has hired you to collect this money. Bye! read more

Talking to collection reps usually are not pleasant conversations. I called in and spoke to an Edward and immediately he just pre judged our conversation and didn't hear me out. The next day I decided to try again, I am so glad I did because my rep Monique or Monica can't recall her name directed me over to Stephanie. Stephanie has been so helpful and attentive. I understand that as collectors they still have policies and she was able to have her rep explain that to me patiently. I am only giving this place a 5 star because of Ethan. He was the service rep that helped me out after dealing with 3 other people here . I was sent to collections for an $80 balance on a debt that I had been paying on. I happen to run my credit and realize that I had been sent to collections. So I called the company and spoke to a woman who was not helpful at all. Told me that there was nothing that they can do because I had not been consistent on my payments. Called back after. Talk to another gentleman who told me I wasn't suppose to really be reported to the Credit Bureau because I had been making payments. Said he would have a letter sent out to me. Called back because I wanted a copy of letter via email and another woman agent was unable to help me. Told me there was nothing they could do and that it was my fault for not paying the debt within 6 months. I was not accepting that answer as I was making payments. Called back spoke and got Ethan. He was SO helpful and pleasant. He was able to help me get a letter out via email, with his supervisors authorization. He wasn't rude at all. I really appreciate him taking the time to truly help me try to rectify this issue. Good karma will be coming his way. These collectors are so inhumane sometimes. And forgot one day they may come across a situation in their lives when someone needs to listen to them and understand the Dilemma they're in and help them out. Thank you Ethan. I want to give a 0 star! Got a payment of $900.00 something from this company in Oct for my son's hospital visit a few month ago. I called CMRE and the hospital to found out they didn't file claim with our health insurance company, during that phone call they told me they will file a claim and got all the information of my insurance company and told me I don't have to do anything at this point. Then a month later I got 2nd payment of $8884.00 for the same hospital visit! Also received a call from Crystal one of the representative from CMRE, without telling me what was the call regarding for...she asked me to verified many personal information, this made me very uncomfortable. She was very rude and inpatient, she had told me my account is already in collection and I have to pay. So I explain to her about the phone call I made a month ago, thats when she told me...Oh yeah, we did try to filed this claim but my insurance company said my membership was inactive, therefore it didn't go thought. Then I asked her how come the 1st payment was $900 something and the 2nd one becomes $8000 something, she told me the $900 was an offer for uninsured patient, and the $8884 is the actual full amount. Now that you have insurance so you will have to pay the full amount! And if I think the insurance company will cover this, then I have to let my health insurance company call CMRE. Which I did call and talked to my agent right after the conversation with CMRE, not only my insurance card was and is active and they never got a claim from the hospital nor CMRE. And when my insurance agent try to contact them, the call would not go though. This is the phone number Crystal proved 1-800-783-9118 ext. 472 In the end we have to request a claim from the hospital so the insurance can process. Taking your sick young kid to the ER in the middle of the night was already tense, and now this!!! How could they just bill people for whatever they want? And make you feel like you did something wrong...Hospital, medicare people and CMRE are suppose to help patients, NOT adding frustration to their everyday life. read more

Despite calling repeatedly and leaving messages nobody has reached out. The letter says Susy Z and her extension number and God knows how many times I have called her and left her messages!!! I got a Bill on 5/17/2016 regarding a past due bill for 104.39 I called in and spoke to someone saying they have been billing an address I haven't lived at in over 3 years. I never got one piece of correspondence from the original place I went or an eob from my insurance. when I called yesterday I spoke to a lady saying I didnt do this service. I also told her I would like proof of any bills I owe. She said to check my eob. I did explain I dont have an eob to refer to. she started yelling at me saying to get an eob. I told her again I am not able to obtain it. I told her can I talk to a sup because she keeping raising her voice. I asked to speak to sup and she said ok and transferred me to the supervisors extension after hours. I hope they check there recording because that person was out of line by raising her voice and not all insurance sends EOBs. This company is completely unprofessional! A scam company. I had 100k in surgery. Apparently some doctor I never met had a 100$ charge. It should have been paid by insurance. UCSd sent it to collections without telling me. Never got a notice, and care will not even let you pay without the CMre account number which I did not have. They won't take the UCSd number. Won't even talk to me. UCSd won't take the payment. This company sent us a collection letter. We demanded copies of the bills that we supposedly did not pay. That was 4 weeks ago and we have not heard from them since. This company has many complaints from the Better Business Bureau. Do not pay them unless you see concrete proof of money owed and then pay the Dr. or medical facility directly! read more

Similar experience to others mentioned here. First communication from CMRE was a demand letter for a medical bill I had never been advised of in the first place, with CMRE's false statement that their client had tried to reach us several times with no success (wrong...no phone calls, no bills, no letters!) I marched the demand letter in to Renaissance Radiology, the supposed client, and had a long meeting with their office manager who admitted that the bill had been submitted to CMRE in error, and had already been settled by my wife's insurance providers; she gave me a paid receipt and assured me they would immediately advise CMRE of the error and have them purge the file with no negative affect on our credit. After a month we received a second and apparently 'final' notice from CMRE threatening to place a negative mark on our credit if we did not submit payment in full immediately...for a bill that had been paid and they know it. I refuse to contact them directly, and have advised their 'client' that any damage to our credit standing due to their incompetence and CMRE's refusal to stop illegally harassing us for a paid bill will result in a libel suit against both firms. Perhaps a class-action suit would be in order to drive this inept group out of business. Any attorneys out there interested? Followup: After a second visit to the radiology group office I finally received a letter from CMRE apologizing for my inconvenience and assuring me their file on my wife's erroneous bill had been purged from their system. In checking my credit records I find no negative items, so it looks like the matter is closed. read more

Spoke with a guy named Ty. He was very courteous and polite and explained what the charges were for and we figured out why I never got the bills. I was skeptical at first when I got the letter because I had never been to a doctor in LA and then I read the reviews here so I thought maybe it was a mistake but it turns out the doctors didn't have my correct ZIP Code. Thankfully CMRE was able to get a letter to me even with the wrong ZIP Code so that I didn't fall into a credit ding. read more

Im a DOD worker for the US Gov. I missed a call from CMRE/FSI and called back and the representative wouldn't give me any info about my "dept" without disclosing my address and last four of my social. The person i spoke with was unprofessional beyond reason. My best advice is to read a good amount of other reviews on here, its the only place i found ease of mind without feeling i had some debt with penalty charges in the making. CMRE is surly a shady business that seems to be more than just spam or scam but don't give in to any of their demands without good self reasearch. read more

I had a similar situation with Zoe that I'm still trying to work out. CMRE called and said I owed about $200 for an ER visit that my insurance already covered. I called the Med Center I went to and they said they never sent the account to collections and that I owed $5 towards the deductible that would be waived by the hospital. CMRE also said the MED Center had tried to bill an insurance I haven't been covered by in over 2 years, which the Med Center never would have had access to. My insurance company sent me proof that they paid the bill, so why does CMRE have my info? I filed a complaint with the BBB and I also sent in a complaint about the Med Center for a possible HIPAA breach, since CMRE had my date of service, when the Med Center said they hadn't sent out anything to collections. read more

This "collection agency" is an outrage. They sent me notification of an overdue payment for a medical e-ray. I sent them my insurance company's EXPLANATION OF BENEFITS which stated the exact amount was an over charge and I did not have to pay it. For six months, I continued to receive threatening letters and for six months I sent them the same documentation. Finally, the letters stopped. Now they are going after my credit rating which is over 800. I have never had a single problem with any credit agency until I had the misfortune of dealing with CMRE. This company sent me a collection notice for a medical bill. The bill was actually the result of my insurance company failing to cover in network expenses. When I called the hospital to ask if they had in fact sent my account to collections, they said yes.... but it was NOT for this company. They tried to scam me and Im glad I did my homework before paying them. I was able to get in touch with the real company handling my bill and paid it off. I have been receiving robocalls from 5 different CMRE numbers for almost 3 years for a guy who is a total stranger; not my debt(s). I have to keep blocking these #s every 3 months to get rid of these calls. No answer, call doesn't go through when I try to call them to get my # removed from their database(s). This has cost me both time and money (airtime to check voicemessages). Any suggestions on how to get rid of them permanently? read more
