When I first made the yelp project request to various companies, I appreciated how quick and responsive Norah was. Probably one of the best customer service experiences I've had of any company. I had concerns with potential leaks in all 3 of my bathrooms. Manny assessed the situation and said they are not leaks, but pipes expanding/contracting, and moving around in the walls in a fashion that made it sound like leaks. He advised this does not need to be resolved urgently, but provided options for proactive remediation. Manny allayed my anxiety with the situation. I have chosen not to do anything at this time as I'm figuring out design choices for a home remodel, but I'd be comfortable with requesting services from Venture Plumbing again. read more

I discovered a leaking tub faucet last Thursday and left a message on Venture Plumbing's web site to see when they might be able to come look. I received an email and a text message within minutes and had an appointment the next day. In the meantime, I turned my water off over night so as not to waste water. When I turned it on in the morning the leak had stopped. I called the office to let them know. They said they would like for their guy to come by anyway to make sure it wasn't something obvious that would cause it to start again. We rescheduled for this morning. Nick came by and after discussing what had happened told me nothing needed to be done. Turning the water off and on had likely dislodged some 'hard water' grit that let the rubber/plastic washers/gaskets fall back into place. If it happens again just give them a call. How refreshing to have someone want to just help me. Not try to sell me something I didn't really need. I will be calling Venture Plumbing for any future plumbing needs. read more

Venture Plumbing did a fabulous job on my mothers mobile home plumbing repair. She had flooded her bathroom and left it like that for weeks before we found out. Derek and his team came in and repaired all of the leaky plumbing going under the house and using cameras and re-piping and installing a new tub for a very reasonable price and it was done swiftly and with care and it came out great. We had them come out a couple times to check on something afterwards and they were right there within hours and fixed minor little repairs that frankly were not part of their scope. We have used Venture on several different occasions, from clearing major clogs to pipe repairs and adjustments. They are always professional, timely and complete the job well from start to finish! On one occasion, I found the garage flooded due to the washing machine drain over flowing. With two young children, two large dogs and a husband in construction, the washing machine is used daily. *insert panic here* Derek explained to me how to prevent future issues and made me feel comfortable and understood throughout the whole process. Explained what he was doing and why. Charged no markup for the parts he used (other companies were quoting higher on parts). The hourly rate was decent (similar to what other companies had quoted). Skyler from Venture Plumbing quickly came out and replaced an ADA toilet that the previous owner had installed. I also had a bad leak in the exterior tap in front of the house. I called in the late afternoon and they were out the next morning. Skyler wore a mask, wore shoe covers, and made sure the bathroom was cleaned up. The exterior faucet was nicely welded and looks great. Toilet is working great. I appreciated the extra time in explaining the work and any potential problems. Everything worked out great, but it is better to know and not be surprised. The total charge for both repairs was below what I was quoted from another plumber just for the toilet. I am relieved it was all quickly taken care of. I would definitely work with them again. read more

Norah is great! She is very responsive to my plumbing issue and is able to get a plumber to look at my toilet leak problem almost at the same day when there's an issue. Paul, the plumber helped me with the toilet leak twice. He is super reliable and get to the root cause of the issue. I am confortable leaving the keys to him and let him do what he needs to fix the toilet leak at my rental property. Although cost of fix is not as cheap as compared with some other service, but the responsiveness and reliability is something I would pay for. read more

We had sand, yes, sand, coming out of our faucets in our Eichler. Our neighbor recommended Venture Plumbing, and what a job they took on. The very long story made shorter, they found our hot water heater 1/3 full of bedding sand (the sand that pipes are laid in), our faucets and fixtures ruined, and our drains full of sand, of course, also. The sand came in from the city water supply. These repairs and replacements were extensive, took great expertise to figure out and solve problems (as all our pipes are in our concrete Eichler foundation). Derek, the owner, and his crew interacted with leak detection folks, the San Jose Water supervisors and staff, and the claims adjuster for the city's insurance company. Yes, we filed a claim. And were compensated. Every step of the way, Derek and staff were responsive, reliable, prompt, courteous, honest, knowledgeable, and so very patient. We had some concerns and questions later about the new tankless water heater, and Derek was there to troubleshoot and advise. I would give them minus stars if I could. They came and worked on a leak and after it was covers we noticed it was still leaking through the wall. They came out and said we will look at it for $150 but we dont think its the same leak in the same exact area. Dont go with this company they will let you pipes leak and come and charge you again to fix. Total scam. read more

I've used Venture Plumbing 3 times now from the simplest of projects to moderate. Each instance has been nothing but stellar. The first time Derek fixed a shower fixture. Shopped for a plumber for help and Derek was available and attentive to my needs. Fixed it without any issues and more importantly quickly. From contact to completion in under 24 hours. The second time was a little more serious. Had a leak in another shower that was internal. Called Venture and Norah was extremely helpful. This job was a bit bigger and a bit costlier. The communication between me and Norah and the flexibility from the team was super important as I was getting my finances in order. Last time I used Venture, there was an issue with a toilet as it was constantly running. I have a different schedule and Derek and Norah were great at scheduling a time that worked for me and quickly. The job was simple but Derek took the time to show me how to fix the issue so that I could do it myself next time. The amount of respect for the company goes without saying. Ms. Norah's professionalism, promptness and due diligence was the reason I was thrilled to give business to this plumber subcontracting company. Technician by approach was trustable on the knowledge, experience of problem fixing. The shower drain flow was improved by replacing drain pipe, not by unclogging with the snake machine. Although lack of paper work, procedural things and sales rush by technician caused over pricing. First job was to unclogg two adajcent showers and do full interior camera investigation of whole house drain system. This interior camera inspection was not done for the whole house, external visual check was done and unclogging with snake was not successful as presented. Alternatively, second job, was to replace the drain pipe. Technician said it was full day job, he left in 4 hours(including homedepot visit), as something else was added to his workday list. Due to his sudden rush and possible greed, lack of ethical paper work and clarity of two separate estimates, I ended up paying for both camerainspection-unclogging and drain pipe replacement too. It costed me double the price of mid-point San Francisco bay area price. My humanly trust was mislead, by the lack of paper work, thorough review and hidden intent, ideally unclogging-camerainspection shouldn't have been charged, as nominal diagnosis+estimate fee was already paid in advance for the visit. They could have turn our job into a huge one which would have been extremely expensive. Instead they gave us options and found a way to get things working perfectly without braking the bank. There is a custom, among tradespeople, of expressing their lack of desire to work with you by quoting an absurdly high price. I guess it avoids confrontation, or eases the pain of rejection, or one could even use it to conceal discriminatory practices which would otherwise be illegal (race, gender, that sort of thing). In this case, I suppose it was only that we are too far away. Fair enough. Derek could have just said "no". Instead, he bid nearly $5000 to swap out a broken water heater, providing only the details that the water heater was $2250 ($477 at Home Depot) and the rest was labor. And now he wants his $49 for submitting this "bid". I don't know that a court would find this to be acting in good faith; I'm not really in the mood to fight over $50. A local plumber did the job for $1250. read more
