We love all the Coa restaurants, but Coa Del Mar has the best atmosphere by far. The view of the lake and surrounding homes creates the perfect backdrop for an exceptional dining experience. The crispy octopus appetizer was outstanding -- perfectly cooked, fresh, and full of flavor. For my entrée, I tried white fish, which was cooked beautifully, but I wasn't a fan of the sauce paired with mashed potatoes. The combination didn't quite work visually or flavor-wise; the sauce's pale color and texture weren't very appealing. I had expected something more along the lines of a raspberry reduction or a lighter, more vibrant accompaniment. That said, the hot rock filet was excellent as always -- consistently flavorful and fun to experience. Overall, Coa Del Mar continues to impress with its atmosphere, creativity, and service, even if one dish missed the mark for me this time. I'm already looking forward to coming back. read more

We finally got to try Coa del Mar in Eagle for my husbands birthday celebration.   We had early 430 pm reservations, and the restaurant was already loud and busy. The music was too loud for dinner service.  The restaurant is beautiful on the outside with a grand sea themed interior with lots of blown glass chandeliers.  We were seated in a booth with plenty of room. The wait staff was wonderful. Sienna was a very attentive server,  always checking in with us.  We chose to eat off the appetizer and ceviche menu instead of dinners. This gave us a great variety of flavors, which did not disappoint. We really loved the seafood options. Each appetizer came out at appropriate intervals.  Each dish was a beautiful piece of art.  Clean plating with beautiful colors.  Here is what we opted for on our first visit. Yellow tail sashimi (Fresno chilies, red onion & cilantro topped with a ponzu glaze)- thinly sliced fish with a buttery flavor. The flavors were light with the right amount of spice.  Beef Carpaccio- (Topped with cornichons, capers, truffle oil & served with a celery parmesan salad).  The beef was melt in your mouth. The cornichons were a nice touch. The parmesan needed to be freshly  shaved.  The celery salad was refreshing, but maybe shave it for a lighter texture.   Orange Roughy Ceviche(red chilies, mango, onion, cucumber, Avocado, citrus dressing) served on a Tostada.  This had so much flavor, spicy fresno chilies, and a light citrus dressing.  This was more than enough to feed the two of us.  Spicy Calamari (Deep fried calamari steak with panko breading, serrano peppers & red onions. Tossed with cayenne pepper & red wine gastrique. Garnished with fresh cilantro & garlic aioli).  The calamari steak were crispy large planks. The sauce could have used more of that fresno spice as it was slightly sweet.   We finished with deserts: Key Lime Bar (White chocolate coconut crusted. Served with fresh lime & a white chocolate tulip. Presented with strawberry-lime sauce & coconut gelato) this was a refreshing and light desert. The coconut ice cream was a welcome change from whipped cream.  Birthday Desert (Caramel icecream, served in a warm donut like deep fried dough).  This was a cross between donut and an elephant ear served with a caramel ice cream.  This was very tasty, light, and not greasy.  Reminded me of fair food. All in all, this is a great addition to the Valley dining scene. It offers an expansive menu that will be sure to meet the needs of the patrons. We went to Coa Del Mar May 2024. I ordered the filet on the hot rock with THAT Sauce!! I am that odd ball that likes her meat well done and it was great to cook it on the hot rock to my perfection! The filet came with a choice of sides. I chose the baked potato with all the fixings. We sat at the bar and enjoyed wonderful service. The wine pours were very generous, and we went at time when the wine was 1/2 off-- a complete treat! I ordered another glass of red for my dessert! I came back again in March 2025 and I ordered the filet on the rock again! My dinner was as wonderful as before with the same great service! I am looking to trying their sister restaurant in Boise- Barbacoa soon! read more

LOVE the new new ...Barbacoa feels but with an aquatic twist. Fresh Seafood Chowder - the picture on the menu was a little misleading at first, but the shrimp, clams and octopus pieces were exceptional. The fish and smoked bacon were ok. I was bummed there was no corn, but appreciate the seasonality of the dish. There is a slight blue cheese flavor which made this my husband's favorite chowder to date! 5+ stars!!! Tuna tartare - GET THIS!!! They say they fly in fish from Hawaii daily, so I'm guessing this tuna just arrived. Generous serving of fresh avocado, lovely mango, and the right amount of red onion, ponzu & sriracha aioli. The highlight was the pepper shreds on the top...not even mentioned on the menu but it made the dish pop! We noticed the next table ordered extra chips with theirs - do that. So yum. 5+++ stars! Macadamia Halibut - the pineapple sauce and mango beurre blanc are everything you want in this tropical dream. The pickled pepper garnishes spiced up the dish nicely too. The fish was a touch dry, but this is better than the alternative and really having a bad time. The purple sweet potato puree was good but I would had preferred more seasoning to complement the dish. 4.5 stars. Hot Rock Filet - love love love this fun and incredibly delicious filet. The flamed cognac sauce is so rich and tasty...make sure you ask to save some of it! You can eat it on your sides...and the optional lobster (which we recommend). The garlic mash was decent but we'll look forward to trying something else next time. That hot rock doesn't mess around, so if you're a slow eater make sure you take it off the rock so it's not well done at the end of your meal (my medium rare finished at medium well...still melt in your mouth delish tho). 5++ stars! Coconut Creme Brûlée - so huge! nice creamy smooth texture and very mild (almost undetectable) coconut flavor. Loved the shareable size and generous amount of berries. 5+ stars!! Carrot Cake - nice moist cake garnished with delicious fresh carrot. The cream cheese frosting was a great texture but tasted meh. Would had liked more candied pecan and caramel garnishes. The cake had a slight refrigerated taste - maybe this one isn't so popular? 3 stars. Complimentary Birthday Dessert - Yaaassss! Celebrate all birthdays here. Fun candle in a bunelo. Winning! Absolutely gorgeous interior and food. Deciding what to eat was an arduous process with soooo many delicious sounding items on the menu. We have a new favorite place! We tried Coa Del Mar on Mother's Day and WHAT A TREAT. First of all, the vibe in here is unreal. The staff were ALL wonderful. We had Patrick and Garrett as our servers and they were A+. And of course, Corinne and Sean who are management came by and just made us feel loved and special. Chef Enrique even came out to say hello and we made sure to tell him how fantastic everything was. We had oysters and the tuna tar tar to start - all of us said we could have had a giant serving of the tar tar for dinner! My husband had the elk, and is still talking about it 15 hours later. My mama and I had the hot rock filet and they were melt in your mouth good. My daddio had the swordfish and his plate looked like he licked it clean. This place is so great from start to finish. Not the worst I've ever tasted but I could have made the same meal at home for one tenth the price. Octopus appetizer was weird. I came in for a reservation and we were promptly seated at a beautiful table. Our server was knowledgable and very friendly. The restaurant is huge and it was bustling and very loud! Our group wasn't drinking but they were able to make my friend and I delicious mocktails which were priced extremely well. I was pleasantly surprised. My mac nut mahi mahi was soooo good. I wish I could have finished it because it was rich and delicious. Another guest ordered the ahi and was very happy. My husband ordered lobster and loved it. This place has no idea what fine dining is. Carpaccio with celery.. ugh. Not even real shaved Parmesan. A real disappointment. It's like they've never traveled put some arugula. They cheap it out. Not impressed and I could tell by the lack of people. My number one thing especially going to Barbacoa.. if your going to give me a ridiculous bill put it in a bill fold not some paper. I'm really not happy about giving Coa Del Mar a less than stellar review as we are huge fans of Barbacoa, but hopefully management will read this and make some changes. Decor inside the restaurant and cleanliness were spot on. View of the lake was a plus. Drinks were good. I had the Heat Margarita. Where we had issues is with the quality of service and food. Server handed two of us our plates instead of placing it on the table. We ran out of water and drinks needed refills and although it seems like they have an army of employees running around in a frenzy, none of them were making eye contact with customers. It was so loud that we ended up having to walk over to a server to ask for a refill. Two of us had lobster tails as part of our meal. Sadly, the lobster was overcooked (rubbery and tough). Wife's dish had swordfish chunks that were extremely dry and fishy. Coa Del Mar advertises they have the "freshest seafood in Treasure Valley", so maybe the issue is the food is not being cooked properly. We will continue to enjoy Barbacoa and give Coa De Jima a try, but we're likely not going to be repeat customers at Coa Del Mar. Sadly disappointed. read more

We went to this Restaurant on Saturday night to celebrate my husbands Birthday. This was our first time here. Our kids have been here a few times before. All I can say is WOW! The staff were really nice, but the food was brought out way too quickly which makes me wonder how they are making the food. It was very expensive, their prices are equivalent to somewhere in Beverly Hills. People tend to forget this is Idaho! I felt like I was eating my food to the techno music. It was a sort of "Get them in, get them out", feeling. I also felt like I was in Las Vegas & people around were trying to be something they are not. If prices are more reasonable people would eat here more. This place should be in Sun Valley it's only a matter of time people will stop paying this much for a meal, I've seen it way too many times. I previously wrote a fairly scathing review of this restaurant. My husband and I went back for my birthday in August. Everything was great. We chose the crabcakes for the appetizer and they were very nice. We then chose the orange roughy for our main meal. It was absolutely wonderful. Beautifully done. Wonder flavors. Very impressive. We had a nice little Alberino white wine to pair with it. It was perfect. Sometimes restaurants don't carry the best of these littler known wines. My husband had a chocolate type dessert which he really enjoyed. I had one of the best cups of coffee. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive but not overly. This made up for my previous so so review. I was very pleased with our evening out. My only complaint was we were hoping for patio setting, but they enclosed it. I suppose they needed the year round space. Too bad. The second one is the noise level. People always think they're in a pub instead of a nice restaurant. Too bad. Not sure what you can do about lack of manners. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. read more

Our server was wonderful, deep knowledge of the menu, was honest about what they liked and did not like, I value that. Ordered a filet on the hot rock (delicious), asparagus was crispy and fresh, the guac was excellent. Was seated on the back patio on a hot day and it was spicy, was sweating most of the meal because of the temperature. Wife ordered a shrimp dish which she loved, friends ordered a ribeye and that too was delicious. Our experience here was positive and look forward to our return. Although the restaurant was at capacity, we appreciated how much parking there is at this location. Will visit again soon. read more

Coa Del Mar is the newest restaurant in Eagle. It has a wonderful ambience on the inside with open seating, lots of booths, a snazzy bar, and a view of a man made lake. The menu is a bit different than Barbacoa in Boise, which is nice. The focus here is more Mediterranean with fish dishes and less beef dishes. You can still get ample guacamole made at your table side. The prices are still in the stratosphere just like its Barbacoa cousin. They have a two for one drink 'special', it basically means you pay double for one drink, and second drink 'free'. It must be the exact same drink. Whatever.... The staff is very professional and on their game. You will have many people supporting your table. You may forget who your actual waiter is. Like its cousin in Boise, the Eagle location is a bit less Las Vegas and more like suburban dining. So, I would say maybe it would depend on what kind of atmosphere you were looking for. Give it a try. Maybe on a payday. Reservations are recommended highly. read more

So we had a large dinner party and reservations at 7:15 PM. We were seated right away however it took about 40 minutes to receive our drinks and then about another 30 minutes to be asked what we wanted to order. We all have been here a few times before with out of state family and everything was amazing. This experience was so subpar I would have just left if it was only my husband and myself. When we finally did receive our entrees 2 fish dishes were stone cold despite promises made by management which was a bit 2 sided. Our bill was well over $1K for service that was substandard and promises not kept. It will be a while before we go back.Very disappointed, this has been an excellent experience in the past but this was just bad all the way around. This is the last time. I gave it one more chance. I tried again after being there on one of their first days open. Here's the rundown of sins: 1. Gum on our table, on the side, where you would get it on your shirt if you leaned in. 2. Forgotten drinks 3x, needing to reorder when they didn't show up after the first time. 3. Coa sticker over "Osterra" caviar which has me wondering if it's actually authentic or if they just put their sticker over the lid to hide what's really under there. 4. Messed up orders (allergy) and missing things listed on the menu like tortillas. 5. No refills, very few check ins, and absurdly long wait times for everything. I still can't get over the drink menu on an iPad and their dining chairs that weigh 40 lbs each. Their chandelier is white, tadpole-shaped, with a round head, a midsection, and a long, slender tail. It looks surprisingly like something from biology class (see photo). "Wait a sec -- why so picky??" I spent $400 on dinner. Bring your A game if you want me to bring my "A" wallet. read more

Booked this restaurant well in advance. We arrive with four adults and they sat us at a very small booth by the kitchen. We did ask to be moved and they graciously did. We had the calamari appetizer and our server said everyone says it's the best. No lie, it was the best we've ever had. The "who's your huckleberry" martini is amazing. Served in an ice lined martini glass. Dinners were tasty and very large. We had the fish platter. Amazing. It had a lobster tail, scallops and large shrimp upon mashed potatoes and broccolini. Next the swordfish plate had a large size portion. Very good as well. If you've been to the sister restaurant in Boise you'll appreciate the decor. A true 5 star experience at this newer restaurant located in Eagle, Idaho. The inside of this restaurant is very cool and lived the decor. The inside decor and food had a lot of resemblance of the same as well with the flow of the whole restaurant. It reminded me a lot of their other restaurant Barbacoa but with a more ocean vibe to it. Our table was amazing it was right along the water in a covered area with outdoor heaters. Our experience overall was a 5 star including our waitress Maddie she made this a 5 star experience. For food we started off with their traditional table side guacamole and if you eat here this is something you have to try. Not only does it taste amazing the guys that prepare it are awesome and so friendly. We also had the spicy calamari and fresh daily bread that included a tomato and feta dip, olive tapenade and hot honey. All were amazing and the calamari was probably the best I have ever eaten. It had just the right amount of kick and the jalapeños were a nice touch. For dinner I had the scallops and it came with 6 perfectly cooked scallops on top of rice. It was absolutely delicious. My wife, SIL and daughters all had the mahi mahi and lobster combo and everyone loved their meal. My daughter's BF had their signature hot rock New York steak that was cooked perfectly. They also as part of the presentation light the steak on fire and served with their delicious cognac sauce. We left absolutely stuffed and loving our experience. I would highly recommend making a reservation because most likely you won't be able to get seated. They do have open seating in the bar but on Friday night when we visited it was packed. What a Disappointment!! While the decor was Beautiful they missed the mark with the most important part of the dining experience. Our reservation was at 6:30 on a Wednesday for a special occasion. We walked out the door at 9:30 after a very long dinner. It seemed there were a couple of large parties & a group of social media influencers that needed more attention than a family of 4 who were there for a celebration. When I asked the waitress about why it was taking so long and that the 1 group had been seated an hr after us but were already being served their dinners, she said simply oh they were more demanding than you guys. Not cool. We also were looking forward to the Halibut but were told they were out of the Halibut, another disappointment. We ordered the Chilean sea bass, Mahi Mahi, Lobster, Scallops & Carne Asada. Both of the pieces of fish had fishy tastes to them and not in a good way. Scallops, Cesar salad & drinks were just okay. While the Carne Asada was cooked well done on one half the other half was raw. Don't bother ordering the tasteless deviled eggs or the coconut shrimp as appetizers either. We all agreed that the desert was the best part of the meal, Crème brûlée & mud pie were very good. As for the Birthday donut that they offer to Birthday guests... while it was a nice gesture it tasted like styrofoam with ice cream & a sparkler on top. It also surprisingly came w/ a 3 inch piece of hair that we pulled out from the ice cream. So much for a celebration that cost us $400! I made a reservation back in March for my husbands birthday dinner! We had an early reservation at 5pm on a Tuesday and it was packed! We skipped the appetizers but did take advantage of the happy hour BOGO drinks. I had the hot rock filet with fries and my husband had the mahi mahi with lobster. We only ordered a side of the fingerling potatoes. Food was delicious! My filet was perfect on the hot rock. My husband also very much enjoyed his dish. For dessert we had the coffee and doughnuts. This dessert seems simple but the flavor is to die for! The best doughnuts and coffee! He is still talking about it. I would love to come back and sit on the patio! Coa Del Mar is an experience. They have such a beautiful restaurant, it has an open feel and a lot of beautiful details hidden throughout the restaurant. They have a huge bar with plenty of seating as well as comfortable booths around the restaurant. There is plenty of room for parking as well as a wheelchair accessible entrance way. I ordered the drink with mezcal, blueberry syrup and lime and it was delicious. I also ordered the swordfish and shrimp for myself and it was full of flavor. The fish was flakey and cooked perfectly, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly as well. My step dad's mom got the lobster pot pie and it was presented with a lobster on top, which I thought was so funny and memorable. Our servers took amazing care of us and gave me great recommendations on what to order for my first time. I will definitely be back and am excited to check out the happy hour BOGO! Highly recommend coming here whether you're on a solo date, out with family or need a romantic night away from your normal day to day life. read more

I'm licking it off the 850 degree rock! Well, I wanted to!! A steak is usually cold and congealed at the end of the meal. This time warm to the end. And yes I ate it ALL. We live on this lake and were SO excited when this restaurant opened, although a little concerned because the lake smells by the end of summer. First experience was actually great. We had champagne and the only appetizer the manager thought was gluten free. Surprisingly in 2024 (edited year because I was off), they still weren't completely schooled on a gluten free menu, especially in such a high end restaurant. Our next experience was not great. We showed up for drinks, as it's a quick walk and there was room at the bar only. Service was surprisingly slow and then they plop an obvious plant matter straw in the drink. I asked if it was wheat and the bartender proudly said yes! What?! It was already too late as I had taken the straw out and took a sip of my drink, and my intestines told me the truth the next day. We were all appalled. We also walk around our lake almost every day and I have to say it was an easy choice to not eat at CDM because their garbage is located right next to the lovely waterfall and the smell is absolutely disgusting. Also the smoking workers hanging out smoking there before heading in the service door past the smelly garbage? Gross. But our friends convinced us to hit happy hour one more time as they knew we were unhappy with our experiences there, but they enjoy the quick walk and their out of town friend who isn't GF enjoyed her meal there. Once again there are no tables so we are seated in the bar and the water boy assistant was the best part. The server showed up a while after we were served water and the menus. We clearly ordered gluten free mixed drinks. First of all, it took a LONG time to get our drinks. Like a ridiculously long time. Then as soon as they arrived, our friend took one sip and realized she had been given a whiskey drink that not only wasn't what she ordered but was not gluten free, which I also know she paid dearly for the next day. For the cost of this restaurant, the staff should be much better trained on gluten free. Also the disgusting garbage area right next to the sidewalk and waterfall was a huge design flaw. Get rid of your wheat straws, train your staff better, figure out the garbage and maybe we would consider eating there and inviting friends. Husband and I celebrated our Anniversary tonight and it was our first time at Coa Del Mar . The ambiance was really nice . Perfect for date night or birthday celebration. We made happy hour which was BOGO on drinks . The food was amazing for starters we ordered the escargot, Sammy ceviche, 1/2 dozen oysters and crispy octopus . All were so delicious!! For our entrées we had macadamia crusted halibut on top of coconut rice and my husband had the lobster mac. My halibut was really good 8/10, however I did not care for my husband's lobster mac . To me the lobster had a strange taste . The waitress was really helpful and friendly . She did offer us a complimentary funnel cake topped with Carmel ice cream. I typically do not care for Carmel but the ice cream was amazing and subtle. Overall food, service and ambiance 8.7/10. read more
