This place is quite the find. This is the ideal sports bar combined with excellent service and an owner who genuinely takes pride in his establishment. There were some extremely wild children running around and jumping on the bench behind us which made our visit a little less enjoyable. We live in Leesburg, so were really pulling for this place to be good, a solid local choice to our west in Purcellville that could be a regular no-frills sports bar stop. Don't bother. Terrible. Service is beyond bad - it's not the servers' fault, there are not enough of them, and the kitchen is obviously in disarray. I felt like I was watching one of these restaurant reality shows where everything goes wrong. Horrendously slow service - appetizers came out after ~25 minutes if I'm generous. Meals came out for 8 people in - literally - 3 waves that were not together. My wife never got her meal - at all. We told them not to bother and take it off the bill. The food is bland deep fried fare. To the owners - you have a great location and plenty of willing customers who want you to be successful - do an intervention on yourself - re-do the menu with at least some options that are not straight out of the freezer, and hire 3-4 more servers than your current shift accommodates. This is one of the most welcoming places in Purcellville. Almost all of the bartenders, servers and management are hard working, extremely welcoming, and often entertaining with their banter. There is one bartender who often works on Sundays who is loud and obnoxious, but she is the only exception. She is probably the one who would not turn the sound on for the patrons who wanted to watch the soccer game in a previous review. Overall, their beer selection is not bad, but the $2 Pabst pints at all times is usually my go-to. The food is decent and average pricing for bar food, but they are pretty large portions, and the staff is always happy to customize your order by doing things like making it a wrap instead of a sandwich, or grilling instead of frying. The wings are solid with decent heat for their hot sauce, but not blazing hot like you'll find at some of the chains in the area. For a sports bar, it's an excellent establishment, and I would give them five stars if they would get the MLB ticket. read more

I'm happy to update my initial review to report that things have clearly settled at Coach's and I'm back to a full 5-star review. On a couple recent trips, we discovered consistent, delicious food, attentive service and a notable absence of the to-be-expected kinks one often finds in a new restaurant. We visited most recently on a Saturday at the lunch hour and one of the truly great things about Coach's -- and a telling testament to the respect the owners have earned in the community -- is to see the many families and young athletes in attendance. Having a reliable place to go after a youth sporting event was one of the notably absent things missing from Purcellville and it's thrilling to see Coach's filling that need. Bottom line is if you're looking for a comfortable, fun hangout in the Leesburg/Purcellville area to grab a sandwich, burger, wings, or an adult beverage, while watching your favorite team on a host of HDTVs, then Coach's should be your destination. Visited the restaurant a few days ago around 4:00 Friday afternoon. The restaurant was relatively full and there was someone at the door that greeted and seated us. The waitress was very nice and made recommendations. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip as a starter. It came out quickly and was served with a flat bread. It was decent, not mind blowing... but it's hard to justify the $9 price for it. After we finished the starter, I ordered the "Viking" burger with old bay seasoned fries. It was around that time that the restaurant was starting to get very full... The overall layout of the restaurant was not built to sustain a lot of people, so as soon as there are no tables available, people literally had to be standing at the front door next to people eating. Now, I wasn't one of the people who were standing while waiting or at a table next to the people that were standing and waiting... but I imagine that can be a little uncomfortable. The problem I had with that is that it was very very cold outside. This place does not have divider doors to keep the outside temperature out so people coming into the restaurant let in all the cold air and the place fell to about 50 degrees. Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot they can do about it... the employees tried their best to keep the cold air out. We waited about 30 minutes to get our entrees... which for me is pushing it. I wanted to give this place a little leniency because they may not be used to it being so busy. When the food arrived.... again I wasn't blown away. Burger was okay... fries were okay... burger was about the same as grilling a burger at home... in my opinion not worth the money spent. At the end of the dinner... our waitress was no where to be found. We waited about 20 minutes and no one came to offer us desserts or a check. Mind you, there are people waiting at the door.... waited to be seated... and I am sitting there ready to leave. I finally had to get up and ask for the check.... never ever saw my waitress again. I get it.... this place is new.... and I may have been mixed up in the shuffle and I understand. But the reason for the low review is based on my experience there and on the food I ordered. read more

As a few have alluded to, the service is absolutely terrible at this place. I've been 3 times and have vowed not to go back. I don't expect much, but come on! The most recent time was a Wednesday night, after peak dining hours. Had an older waitress who seemed pretty unhappy to be there. After ordering a drink and appetizer, she sat a few tables away with another group of waitresses and played with her phone. She even looked at us a few times, saw empty glasses, and never moved. The bartender actually noticed us and asked if we wanted a re-fill. This doesn't seem to be an isolated incident, as I've never enjoyed my trip to the Coach's Corner. Disappointing, since there isn't much in Purcellville. In addition to that, the prices are something you'd expect at a much nicer establishment. They seem to be confused as to if they're a bar or a fine diner. On one trip, I had a ticket with just 2 steak meals and 3-4 mixed drinks from the bar and it was nearly $100! Not what I'd expect from a "bar and grill". To be fair, many of the other items seem to be reasonably priced... just not the steaks. Gifting an extra star because the bar is decent, the place is pretty clean, and the food tastes ok. But for the prices and the service you get, you can do MUCH better. read more

This place has come one of my families favorite place to eat at. The service is always great the waiters and waitresses take our drink orders right away and always provide friendly service. The décor of the place is casual and cosy its a place I definitely come in anytime of the day to watch a game and have a drink or just have a small get together with friends and family. The food is outstanding I love the Goal Tenders are the best they are large and really nice and crispy. Trust me you will never leave hungry if you get this off the menu. Another favorite is the burgers they are always big and juicy. My only complaint was on the cheese fries there was not enough cheese and bacon on them. When I ordered the salad and baked potato the potato was not fully cooked and there was not enough cheese on that too. When I do come back there I hope they put more cheese on the food. read more

I had the Chicken Souvlaki, which was ok, but not great. I asked for a side substitution of vegetables instead of fries (which the waitress said was no problem), and ended out getting both. Also, someone also spilled a drink on the floor at the table next to us and they didn't bother to clean it up. So watch where you are walking. I will not be stopping by this place again. The service is the worst. The owner sets the tone for his staff. He's always on his phone in the bar area talking very loud-I think Napoleon is hero. I was there 3 weeks ago on a weekday evening and it was slow. I sat at the bar to grab a beer and order "to go." The bartender had zero urgency and the owner just looked at me. He didn't acknowledge me and I told myself I would never return. This guy is fat, lazy and clueless. This isn't the first time he has exhibited this behavior but it has always been a little busy so I gave him a pass. I stopped by El Rancho this evening ordering a $100+ "to go" order and who waddles in? Yep--the toad himself. He's loud as usual trying to promote his anniversary this weekend. He also was looking for sympathy as the anniversary coincides with his Mom's passing. I'm sorry his Mom passed but come on dude--you are old enough to adjust. I was getting in my car and I noticed a blue truck parked over the line and I recognized it as Napoleon's truck. I had to squeeze in and noticed his engine was running. I remember 1 of his staff complaining to me he drinks too much and I can only assume it's an accurate observation. I doubt this clown can read so I hope some "townie" can read it to him. More and more options are popping up around town like The Pub. Hopefully there is a change in ownership soon so I can stop by again. read more

Great place for young guys to hang out with other young guys to watch the game. Would not recommend for kids. Both the volume and the language can get a little loud. Major point in their favor is that they're open after 9pm. Oh my gosh, people want to eat after 9pm - YES WE DO! Burgers are pretty good, but I prefer Market Burger down the road (fresh, locally sourced ingredients.) This place is a good back-up when Market is closed. Personally, this is a good place to grab a quick, late lunch while in Purcellville. In the middle to late afternoon, it's not crowded and no one's yelling profanities at the TV. A plus, but maybe that's just me!! The food? I can only vouch for the burgers and fries. Both are pretty tasty and worth the price. I took my daughters tonight for their school fundraiser and had a good time. Service was as expected when the place is packed on an off night. The manager/owner (not sure which) was front and center the entire time. The kids meals are a good value, sliders especially. I'm particular about French fries, theirs are perfect with sea salt crumbles on top. I had the Caesar salad with chicken. They offer two sizes, which is refreshing. I have an unfortunate addiction to their bacon cheese fries, and the ranch on the side is the best around. The food is really good, with lots of choices. My only negative comment on the food is how oily the beer battered items are. The coating is tasty, but it's just so thick and acts like a sponge with the oil. Could be the nature of that kind of coating, or maybe the oil isn't hot enough or not drained long enough. I don't know, but that's the only place where I could see anything needs improving. Today a large group of coworkers and I came in for lunch and the food and service were both fantastic. We were on a very tight schedule and the staff was really accommodating and attentive. I have eaten here many times and am rarely disappointed. My daughter swears by the salads, the wings are very good - especially when grilled. The flat bread style pizza is great as are the rest of the items. There is a good beer selection and service. Great place to catch a Seahawks game when they aren't on the local channels. I'd normally give it 3.5 stars but consistency is worth another 0.5 so 4 stats overall. My family and I eat here weekly. I read some bad reviews that I don't agree with - primarily poor service. CC gets very busy, very frequently, very unexpectedly. Having eaten here dozens of times, I can certainly attest to the friendliness, the community "feel", the great food and the decency of the staff and owner. It's truly a great place with great food. The servers do a fantastic job in often very busy circumstances. I think maybe some customers have needy expectations and are uncomfortable giving a "shout" to the server when needed. Purcellville is a small town with small-town America feel in a DC community. The restaurant shares that vibe, and it's a great place to spend some time while supporting a local business. If I had one recommendation, it would be to update the tables and chairs. Otherwise, it's a great place that I will Continue visiting and supporting! read more

My son and I thought this was a great place to come and watch college football on a Saturday afternoon. The burger was quite good, the fries crisp & hot, and the beer was ice cold. Lots of high definition TVs to see every game and the servers were very friendly. NOTE: if you want to be checked on every two minutes, learn your server's name and ask for something. Today was my first visit to Coaches Corner and I was fairly pleased. Upon entering with my family, I received a friendly greeting from 2-3 ladies and was told I could sit wherever I liked. It was lunchtime on Sunday and there were 2-3 other patrons. During this visit, we ordered the following: bacon, cheese fries appetizer buffalo chicken entrée 10 Wings, prepared traditional style, hot A bowl potato corn chowder soup All of these were enjoyable (grade of B+) except for the soup, which was maybe a C-. Food was hot and delivered pretty quickly. The appetizer arrived in advance of everyone's entrée. All waitresses were attentive to customers, best I could tell. Unlike some places where servers hide in the back order off near a server station, these gals were on the floor taking care of customers or engaging them in small talk. Our waitress (didn't get her name but she had a nose piercing) was outstanding, making sure our glasses were full and that we were happy with our food. I'm interested to see if the A+++ service we received was a fluke, or actually their effort to employ some good ol', hometown flavor to Coaches Corner. As for the restaurant itself, I counted over a dozen TVs strategically placed throughout. Booths were comfortable, no complaints here. My only dig here will be the absence of soap in the Men's room. All in all, a good 1st visit. I'll return!!! read more

Stopped in with a group of 4 around 8pm on a Sunday. Light crowd, seated immediately. Waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Great service. Food - i debated ordering a salad from a pub style sports bar (usually just go burger at a sports bar) but gave the Ty Cobb Salad a go and it was great. Ranch dressing made in house and very good. I ordered two salads to go and paid an extra 1.00 for two very small extra dressings. The "blue cheese dressing" was nothing more than very yellow looking mayo with blue cheese crumbs thrown in. Then to top it off the flank steak was so tuff and not edible to the point I gave it to my dogs. My husband also said to me "the steak was so tuff, I could not bite through it and gave it to the dogs!" 30.00 bucks for two salads that were not even edible!
