It's not everyday you find a busy auto shop that's impressive. When you see a ton of cars parked outside the building and every bay inside has a vehicle on it, you expect em to have your car for days...I know I did. Especially when the service to be performed is inexpensive like a PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection). I met Dimas with skepticism after reading the reviews. I was uneasy when I handed him the fob to my new-to-me Bentley. He promptly put my car on a rack and went right to work. A short time later he showed me what was wrong with the car. The exhaust system had been damaged, likely after being hit because it hung too low and was missing a bracket. Somebody who owned it before me must have taken a speedbump too quick or something. Dimas had options and explained them to me, then called Uber to take me home. 24hrs later I received a text, "Your Bentley Continental is ready to be picked up." The invoice for parts and installation with PPI fee was hundreds of dollars lower than I had expected. Dimas is not what I expected...it became clear to me that he actually cares. Not just about getting your vehicle squared away but making sure you completely understand any issues it's facing, the short and long term costs involved and doing all he can to meet and exceed your expectations. Honest, caring, detail-oriented mechanics are about as common as Bigfoot riding a unicorn...which explains the number of cars in the parking lot here. The turn-around time really surprised me. I expected delays just to find the parts. When you find a shop like this...you don't go elsewhere. If you're looking at Coastal Automotive and considering bringing your car here...I recommend you trust the five stars reviews and dismiss the few negative reviewers. Some people always find something to complain about and the harder you try to make them happy, the more anal they become. I'm a skeptic turned fan after one visit. If I were to write a short review, I would simply state that I would trust Max and Dimas with any car for any task. One of my colleagues suggested I have my BMW serviced there one day when I was complaining about how high the dealer charged for repairs. That was about eight years ago. It is true that the shop not only works on and restores exotic sports cars, but they do simple repairs on all sorts of vehicles. They also restore and resell used cars that they fix up from other dealer's trade-in stock. They are located next to their sister shop that does bodywork. They are also located next to a bakery, which smells divine, but I guess that's another story. Actually, I should mention that once I mentioned the bakery several times, the next time I showed up, Dimas got me a sample! Who does that these days? Anyway, I have had them work on my car doing routine maintenance as simple as replacing a windshield wiper to as esoteric as working on the turbocharger system and really intricate engine work. I also had them upgrade my stereo with a kit that allows me to have wireless Apple CarPlay which is something that actually has extended my tolerance for my car many years (it is a 2009 Z4 and thanks to Dimas and Max. It still is running at about 139,000 miles. Really amazing. I've had them work on the electrical system, cooling system, suspension system, and engine. To stay on the point, the most important thing in a mechanic-- client relationship is trust. So many businesses these days seem to only be about the bottom line. Coast Automotive really works for customer satisfaction. Dimas thinks through problems that might have more than one solution . The service charges are extremely reasonable and they stand by their work. They are among the highest integrity businesspeople I have ever worked with or put my trust in. I recommend Coast Automotive with absolutely no reservations. I have complete confidence in their integrity, work ethic, and their work itself. I'm a commuter. The shop is located about 20 miles from my home. I have a BMW dealership basically across the street from my work. Was recommended to Dimas by a friend after I had received a whopping $4,000 quote from Elmore Toyota for a rebuilt transmission. Trannys should not be going in a 2006 Toyota Solara Convertible with slightly under 100,000 miles, but it is what it is, & I can save that review for Toyota. I was not disappointed! Imagine a mechanic who actually came in slightly UNDER the estimate!! That has never happened in my lifetime. These guys are the real deal - friendly, honest & trustworthy.
