Warning if you order online- the website is absolutely terrible and wouldn't let us remove things from our cart so I called immediately asking if we could modify the order (which they say to call for any modifications), and the woman on the phone basically said nope too bad. We came here with my brother's family for lunch on a Saturday. The place was pretty busy. We managed to get a table in about 10 minutes. The food was good and the service was acceptable. Be aware that the seating options are rather limited. Just a handful of picnic tables can seat parties of more than 2 or 3. If you don't mind sitting at the bar - great. The service was extremely mediocre at best. Do not order their version of margaritas. It is not tequila based. They are wine based and they taste terrible. I can't believe people order them. The food was absolutely awful. We had the guacamole which was bland, the ceviche which was bland and do not taste good at all. For meals we had a chicken burrito which was also bland and not even hot. Our server Lori did not offer to replace it, get a different selection, or even warm it up as she clearly saw it was not eaten. We also got the pizzadilla which was just okay. This is such a cute little restaurant that sits on a dock on the bay side. They typically have some live music and the food is great. My favorite is the chicken burrito. They no longer have flavored margarita's, but when I asked them to mix my sangria with their margarita mix they did and it was yummy! On a separate note, the owner is one of the nicest guys you'll meet. He did a favor for me when I needed a printer. Mind you, it wasn't for work, it was just for a game us girls wanted to play (we were having a girl's weekend). For him to be so kind and help us was unbelievable. And he didn't even blink an eye. Awful experience. If there were zero stars, I would give it that. I ordered an $8 margarita. It was some mix they bought at the store with wine in it. I did not see beef tacos on the menu, so I asked if I could get plain beef tacos for my kids that are picky eaters. They all came as steak fajitas with vegetables. I would probably rate this place a little higher, but the service was just a little off, and I think that is an important part of the dining-out experience. The food was good for a mexican/ sea food feel. It was also way less expensive than most places you'll find in Duck, so that was a plus for sure. However, when we first got there, we got mixed signals about where to sit- sure, yes, you can sit at the covered picnic tables- and then "no, you can only sit at the colored picnic tables or at the bar." Okay, we managed and pushed a colored picnic table out of the rain and under the coverage, asking if we could also push an extra bench up being that we had a few extra people we needed to seat. It was a no, because it was a fire hazard, but then later another waitress suggested that we do just the thing we asked- push a bench up to the picnic table. After all of the seating confusion, they did forget to bring the extra side I ordered to the table. I'm pretty laid back and wasn't worried about it because I actually ended up full enough from what I had. Still, when dining out you expect to get what you order. Great place to eat, relax and take in the evening sunset. Super casual outside eating that has food way more upscale than its surroundings. It was plenty packed when our party ambled over but we were seated quickly enough. And getting a drink beforehand is no punishment when you get to enjoy it looking over the sound. Once seated we got lots of chips and homemade salsa...then more drinks and we ordered. I had fish tacos, and others had steak tacos, or quesadillas. Everything was made fresh and things were clearly thought out and done with care. Two grilled fish tacos was enough for me. Our waiter was great: kept the drinks filled and adults and children were happy. The food did take awhile to come but the venue was so nice it went by quicker than the actual time. Our waiter was very apologetic about the delay but for us it was unnecessary (but appreciated). Given the style of cooking and the jam packed deck it was not a shock things took time. Note that this is an outdoor place with very limited picnic table seating. There is an outdoor bar and you can go inside to order carryout and drinks (while you wait). The mini boardwalk area and surrounding shops are nice. Great place to end the day with the sun setting behind you. The next night we all returned and had an equally good time. After walking on the Duck boardwalk, my husband, daughter and I stopped here for a beer (and ginger ale for her). The servers were so amazingly friendly. They start you off with free chips & salsa, which are very good. The chicken quesadillas are fantastic and my wife's shrimp quesadilla was delicious.
