We've been coming to Jekyll Island for the last 20 years, and we've seen this location become at least three different restaurants over the years. We were excited to try Coastal Cucina after hearing it was new and reading all of the great Yelp reviews and it absolutely exceeded our expectations! The food was incredible, and the service was just as amazing. In fact, we loved it so much that we came back two more times during our trip. The salmon was outstanding, and we also loved the pizza, lasagna, tortellini, and tiramisu. Everything we tried was delicious. On our second visit, Logan was our server, and she was fantastic! She kept us laughing, was attentive throughout our meal, and made sure we had a wonderful experience. We can't wait to come back next year when we're on Jekyll Island again. The drinks, meal, dessert...everything went well. The service was laid back but good. The decor was interesting because of the monkeys on the lights. The bar area had all the drinks. I had the 5 cheese tortellini (or Roasted tomato and fennel, could not find it again on the menu online.) and it had sausage. Omg I want to eat it again it was SO delicious. I also had the Paloma Italiana and then Antinori Peppoli Chianti Classico DOCG and that was great with dinner. My husband got The Bear. He said it was good. It was like a beef sandwich or Philly cheesesteak with an Italian Margarita. We both got their Pistachio Butter cake with ice cream. Now that was chefs kiss the best way to end our lunch. read more

Second visit and good positive experience. Started with a cheese pizza with anchovies and an order of mussels. The pizza was very good and nice size for a 12" pie. The mussels were good. The broth was a little sweet with a fennel flavor which was a little different but that was my taste impression. We ordered the shrimp over polenta which was tasty. I'm still exploring this restaurant so plan to try again. I'd rate a 4.5 actually but last time I gave it a 4.0 so can boost the average. I recommend for a fair priced average portion decent menu. We came back for dinner, and were very pleased. Our waiter, Mark, gave us superb service. I had the lasagna and my husband had the salmon. Both were very good. The salmon was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the polenta on the side was delicious. We'll be back. read more

Steak Frittas and veal Marsala was ordered. The steak at 6 oz was too small of a portion as all that was served was the steak sliced and some zucchini fries. My husband's meal was larger as he had it on a bed of pasta. Both dishes were tasty but I left hungry. The frittas were fried freshly but very thin and a bit too greasy for my taste. Both meals were 29.00 and I didn't feel it was satisfying for that price. We both had a glass of wine at exact pours. If we return, I will order an Italian dish. Service was good with a lot of attention by servers, we didn't have a reservation so were seated in what appeared like the over flow area where you couldn't hear the live music very well. The veal piccata was well prepared, lemony without that flavor overpowering, and a generous portion. It was lunch the first day and dinner the second. The pasta was on point, very reminiscent of a meal I had in a sidewalk cafe in Rome. That good. My companions enjoyed their meals of chicken parmesan, shrimp Alfredo and scallops with risotto, cleaning their plates with gusto. Service was spectacular, very attentive without being intrusive. My wife and I loved this place. The pizza and pasta and veal were great. The veal was pounded thin and tender. The pasta is homemade. The pizza had fresh sausage and was made in a big pizza oven so it was crispy. Tip: get a little side of marinara to dip the pizza crust! And the staff was super friendly. Nice atmosphere. We dined here tonight. The food was good. My veal was slightly burned. We also had a family that has very loud children. Several tables had said something and even a table said something to their waiter. We said something to the family which should not have been done that way. But since so many complaints had been made. Instead the families that were loud and obnoxious were placated. read more

The only concern I had was the mussels appetizer. While the mussels were excellent... the sauce tasted more like a jar tomato sauce rather than a TLC prepared marinara. What a fabulous find! Don't miss the whipped ricotta appetizer with mission figs -it was light and scrumptious, the stuffed portabella was unbelievable and I haven't gotten to the mail dishes yet! The shrimp & polenta was fresh and creamy but not so rich that you couldn't enjoy all the incredible flavors. Absolutely one of the best restaurants on Jekyll Island. During our week-long stay, we ate at several places that are considered some of the best restaurants on the island, and this one easily ranks at the top of our list. As far as Italian food goes, it is among the best I've ever had. I've been to Italy multiple times and have eaten at countless great Italian restaurants in New York and New Jersey, and this place is every bit as good as the best of them. It was so good that we ate here three times during our six-day stay. On our first visit, we had the Italian sandwich and the Chicken Parmesan sandwich, both with Parmesan fries. It was an incredible lunch. A few days later, we returned for lunch and ordered pizzas. My wife had the Margherita, and I had the Coastal. Both were absolutely perfect and among the best personal pizzas we've ever had. Our server, Mark, was outstanding--honestly one of the best servers we've ever had. We enjoyed lunch so much that we came back the very same evening for dinner. We started with the Portobello mushroom appetizer, which was delicious, followed by a Greek salad that was perfect for sharing. My wife ordered the Alfredo and said it was the best she has ever had. I had the shrimp and scallop pasta, which was absolutely outstanding. For dessert, we had the espresso over gelato and the butter cake, and both were equally fantastic. If you're visiting Jekyll Island and wondering where to eat, or if you simply love great Italian food, do not hesitate to dine here. The food is exceptional, the service is outstanding, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you receive. This restaurant is fantastic. I grew up in an Italian family in NJ, so I've been fortunate to have some excellent Italian food over the years. I came here one night and started with the Chicken Piccata, which was incredible. The food and atmosphere was so good that I ended up coming back several times. The GM, Brandy, and the owner are top-notch people, so it made coming back even easier. Can highly recommend the Piccata and the Chicken Parm. The Diavola pizza was also tasty, as were several of the appetizers. I really don't think you can go wrong. This is a new restaurant, and nearly every time I went in they were packed, so have a bit of patience going in. That said, their service was excellent, as were all of the people there. Really can't recommend this restaurant enough! I hope it continues to prosper over the years. I live in Jekyll Island and only go out to eat when friends and or family is in town. Was so excited that this place opened went Memorial Day weekend with friends. It was packed but the food was amazing. The staff were great but definitely overwhelmed as there was a line out the door! This week I took my parents. The staff were amazing and knowledgeable, food delicious (literally nothing left on anyone's plates), and even the ambiance is fun and quirky (Italian theme but lighting monkeys on swings). You could tell everything was made from scratch and by an amazing chef. My only issue was NOT with the staff, restaurant, or food but the obnoxious table next to us. The "adults" ate their appetizers and then had a fit about it was disgustingly (after eating it all). The manager came out and calmly spoke with them. When the entrees came out the wife had a sandwich pulled all the stuff off the bread and TOSSED it in the table inhaled it all but the bread then got up and had a temper tantrum that all the food was In editable and that she wasn't paying and walked out. Husband was like this food wasn't quality (something on other table in the packed room agreed with). The teenage son who had his headphones on during all of this calmly pulled out a card apologized saying he did NOT agree with the "adults" and paid the check. I add this part as I can see the "adults" as people who will write a bad review and make demands. The manager came out multiple times and tried to work with them. Clearly this couple didn't want to pay their tab but ate every bite before complaining. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a delicious Italian meal, yummy frozen drinks, with a great atmosphere and amazing staff definitely would recommend trying it out weather you are in town in vacation or are a local. read more

This location has been 3 different restaurants since we've been visiting Jekyll Island. This restaurant has only been open for a month or so. This is hands down THEE best restaurant we've eaten at in the 12 years visiting here. We got the lasagna, the cheese tortellini, the short rib ravioli and a pizza. Any one of those could have been the standout dish. Each dish was better than the last. Even the bourbon cocktail was surprisingly delicious. Our waiter, Mark was knowledgeable, honest, and he was just there whenever we needed something. We did have a minor issue with one entree, however - the manager all but bent over backward to ensure we were taken care of. That said, every meal was fantastic. First it's new, kinks to work out, but overall a plus to the island. You're not going to get a deluxe pizza, so be prepared, speciality pizzas, or build your own. Staff have to learn to recommend bread, it's à la cart, so none will come with your lasagna! We've gone twice, once with friends one just us. Second time we got salads and split a pie, salads are small portions, so I'm glad we split the pie. Kinks are more staff than food, found the food on par to Olive Garden, slightly better, will go again, want to try more of the specials, and deserts. read more

He was very attentive and personable. We had the Whipped Ricotta appetizer, as well as the Frito Misto (Fried Calamari, lemon slices and jalapeño slices). Both were delicious. I came to this eatery with high hopes. Unfortunately, Stephanie, our server was less than friendly and kind of set the tone for the meal. I will say the Fritto Misto was excellent. But, the Veal Saltimbocca, which was what I had come for, was terrible. It was like someone took the liner out of their shoe and fried it w/some prosciutto on top.
