I am truly a coffee lover, I'm from Brazil so there is no other way to be. This place is such a unique Rhode Island gem. I want to thank the owners a million times for stepping out and creating this great place. Any type of coffee I get, either hot or iced - it becomes an addiction. Right now I am constantly dreaming of their Coco Loco. I live in Mass and always go out of my way to get a cup, no matter the weather. The location is perfect. Grabbed coffee here many times. Nice little spot down in Tiverton by the bay. The coffee is good, many options to choose and just some snacks to pick from. This place is really all about the coffee. Smells wonderful on entrance and love that they support a lot of local products and information in their shop. Nice chairs and a small little beach to walk on in the nice weather. Always stop by here when in the area! Had a chocolate coconut dirty iced chai this time. It was very tasty, super syrupy sweet. read more

Worth the wait! I ventured here with a friend after a spin class at SALT (separate review for that), a studio close to Coastal Roasters. The menu is filled with delectable options...and it truly was hard to decide! I opted for a hazelnut latte and was not disappointed! Perfectly blended with just the right amount of spices and sweetness. I can't wait to go back and try a smooth (ginger berry looks splendid). I make sure to hit this spot any time I'm remotely in the area (and sometimes I purposely detour to come here)! Their coffee is strong, the location is picturesque, and the staff makes you feel like family. There always seems to be a few locals chatting up the girls behind the counter and I love that about Coastal Roasters. Beyond all that, their coffee drinks are really creative and consistently good. I'm currently hooked on the iced coco mojo (half iced coffee and half iced hot chocolate), but next on my list is their frozen hot chocolate with real peanut butter blended in (whaaat?!). All drinks are made to order and can be customized with different syrups and mix-ins. They also have tons of smoothie options, baked goods, and offer almond and soy milk. What's not to love about this little gem? From smoothies to Coffee, this place has it covered! They even have EvaRuth gluten free snacks, which I was very surprised to see! We stopped in here briefly, but to be honest I could have sat out on the patio and relaxed for hours. There is just something about this place which really makes you want to sit and hang out. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars, is due to the girl working at the counter, she was just miserable. At one point she slammed my drink down, and I don't think I saw her smile the whole time I was in the store waiting in line. Stopped here quickly for coffee. I wish we had more time to sit and relax and take in the view. Super cute and very laid back. The coffee is definitely tasty and very fresh. My only gripe (and it's not even a negative for most) is the coffee was way too hot. I know most people like their coffee VERY hot, but honestly I couldn't touch it for over 15 minutes. Coffee is best brewed at 192 degrees. I'm fairly certain this stuff was close to boiling. Again, most other people love their coffee hot, hot, hot... so if that's you, this place is a five star for sure :) read more

Ah, the coffee. Coastal Roasters is one compelling reason to move to Tiverton. Try the Fogland Fogcutter. This is a wee little spot on the water that is very popular. So popular, in fact, that you should go early to score the coveted, water-view adirondack chairs outside before someone else get's em. In theory, there's a bit of a table inside, but it's hard to sit there, since the coffee line sort of hovers alongside. Notice that there is brewed coffee in the back, along with the cream and sugar. (It could stand to be organized a bit better). On busy days, you might have to do a bit of a dance with other customers to access the condiments (it's very small). Hang in there...it's worth it. You can also buy their coffee, and they will ask you what kind of coffeemaker you have, and grind accordingly. These people are coffee pros. They also make a fruit smoothie. I'm strangely addicted to the blueberry. It's a bit pricey, and not at all sweet. I actually add about a tablespoon of honey and reach a state of Zen about halfway through. Coco Loco is another, more decadent, cold treat. Check out the beautiful 'local arts' posting board, as well as the charming plantings, just outside this postage-stamp size business. Went there for the first time today this is a real gem. Coffee was fantastic,service was great, with a very scenic location.

This is my favorite coffee shop I've ever been to. My family and I are regular customers and I can wholeheartedly say that the amazing quality is so consistent it's freaky. The price is what you'd expect for gourmet coffee along the waterfront, but it's worth every cent when you walk into the tiny store and you're immediately met with the smells and sounds of grounding fresh coffee beans. I'm very picky when it comes to coffee, and anything too bitter or strong gives me a bad stomachache. However, I've noticed that Coastal's iced coffee is so smooth that it's never bothered my stomach once. I like frothy frozen drinks so when I go, I tend to treat myself with either a Coastal Coffee Cooler (coffee frappe) or Coconut Almond Joy (coconut frappe with dark chocolate and natural almond flavoring). It's a bit pricy at $4.50 for a small, but the drink is so rich that it'll last a while. It's also important to mention that the staff are extremely friendly and if any mistake is made in an order (which happens very rarely), they won't hesitate to fix it. The staff are super nice to both the customers and each other, and from what I can see the workplace is kept very clean. Parking is a difficult situation around noontime as that seems to be when they're the busiest, but the view of the water and smell of salt air when sitting on the colorful adirondack chairs with a fresh iced coffee is more than worth it. Such a cute place with great coffee, outdoor seating and beautiful views of the water! Outside is definitely where it's at. For outdoor seating, there's a number of picnic tables (some slightly shaded), Adirondack chairs overlooking the water and some small benches. I would definitely recommend the outdoor seating over the inside. The interior was not air conditioned on the hot summer day that I visited and it is very small and kind of cramped with people ordering and waiting for their coffee. The place has a cool, relaxed, hippy vibe with Buddhas decorating the outdoor area and lots of nice flowers, including sunflowers. I also loved the rainbow flamingo lawn decorations. I had an iced Coco Loco, which was absolutely delicious. It was a little sweeter than I had expected, but it was had great flavor. Agree with the other reviewer that this place is best enjoyed in the summer. While I am sure the coffee tastes great all year, come in the summer to really enjoy the view and the chill exterior ambiance. read more

This place is incredible; one of my favorite establishments on this planet...and that includes steakhouses, Mexican joints, etc. The only average thing I've ever had here was a corn muffin--Coastal Roasters doesn't make their baked goods, so it's not their issue. Things you MUST try: coffee cooler, mint chocolate cookie, peanut butter pleaser and robin mocha. All fantastic. I sometimes get two smalls. Gingerberry smoothie with kale is also a great item for those who don't like coffee or dairy. Their warm beverages are great, too, but chances are, you'll be in the area during the warmer months. I have a treasured memory of sitting in an adirondack chair in the sunshine, sipping an iced coco loco, watching kayakers and paddle boarders go by on the Sakonnet River, music playing inside that was quiet enough to be indistinguishable but loud enough to be enjoyed while staff cheerfully cleaned at the end of the day. It was a moment of pure bliss. Thanks to Coastal Roasters for providing such a lovely moment that I still reflect on 2 years later. I've been back countless times and have never been disappointed. It had been a while since I had visited this establishment but I recently have had some weekly business nearby and have been going here once or twice a week. I usually get a Large Americano but have tried a few other things recently. Everything here is superb. The coffee is the best you will get, the tea is great also. The only con about the place is don't think about sitting down inside in the winter. There is evidently a large group of regulars that take up every seat inside the establishment for almost the entire morning. When it's nice out there is plenty of seating outside though. read more

My wife and I stop here every time we visit our family in Portsmouth. Their coffe is really good. Being a coffee snob, I try their different brews and all are consitently good. Time of day can really change wait times since it's a small cafe. Summer time can get particularly crazy due to so many people ordering smoothies. I'm fond of their caramel lattes and enjoy at least one or two per week, hot or iced depending on the time of year. Hot coffee is self serve on the left when you walk in, that's something people often miss when they are new to the cafe. The also have iced and cold brew coffee too. Dog friendly, they have treats hidden away for pets just ask for one when you bring a furry friend. read more

When I emerge and dredge through my early morning routine with one blood shot eye, I can always count on coastal roasters to always have what I need. Their iced coffee is always fresh, strong, delicious and reasonably priced. All of the other coffee places don't even hold a candle to what Coastal's got. Having moved to Tiverton several years ago after growing up near Boston and spending 13 years in Europe, I find Coastal Roasters' fresh roasted coffee to be as good as the coffees found in France, Germany, and Switzerland. They also source their pastries from a French bakery on Cape Cod -- what a wonderful way to start the day! My husband knows I'll be a lot cheerier if he makes a daily run. They've made the most of a small outdoor area with plants, tables, and chairs, and it's really nice to be able to sit outside in warmer weather with a cold treat and watch the river go by. It's like a tiny piece of Paris or Cambridge; they're providing a great service to the local community. read more

They have excellent products, the coffee is served fresh, the bean is always excellent and if you need anything concerning coffee or tea, it can be had at the store or the more than helpful & knowledgeable staff will order it. Coastal Roasters is my favorite coffee place in the entire world. Not only does Coastal have the best coffee in the state (my opinion), friendly staff and delicious pastries but it has a relaxing and cozy atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. It is truly the perfect place to hang out with friends, people watch or take in the scenery of the Sakonnet River. While I don't live in Tiverton anymore, I still make Coastal my first stop every time I come back to visit and it will always remain the designated "meeting place" when I catch up with old friends. I had a very good cappuccino, pretty full for a small, which is usually a dangerous sign, but the quality was not compromised. Plenty of foam. My sister had a hot chocolate, which was semi-Mayan in its thick chocolatiness, so bring your compadres y comadres. Oh, and a small regular coffee is just a buck. That's not gonna last. The roasting style is mostly dark, with a few medium roasts, and one light roast available. The place appears to have been here for many years, in the alternative bent. This is a tough business to keep up with the times in, so let's see how they do. A grumpy local cop appeared, and came out looking much much happier. If heading down rte 24, exit rte 77 before the bridge to newport, and keep left--don't get back on the bridge!!!--it's just about a mile down on the water's edge. As a native New Englander, believe it or not, these nutty streets make more sense than my usual L.A. freeway haul. read more
