I recently had a chance to try out a few donuts from Coco Donuts and overall, I thought the donuts were really good. The donuts were soft, fluffy and not too sweet. My favorite one that I tried was a glazed coconut donut. The coconut flakes on top added a subtle crunch and was a nice pop of texture. Another flavor I quite enjoyed was the cinnamon crumb donut. You really can't go wrong with any of their raised, brioche donuts. It seems like a lot of folks who had sub-par experiences were stopping by later in the day, but I was fortunate enough to have tried out fresh donuts an hour after they had opened around 8:00 a.m. Unlike my favorite donut shop in Portland -- Blue Star Donuts, Coco Donuts flavors were not nearly as interesting. The donuts are excellent, but do not sleep on the drinks either. I had a delicious latte one morning, and I like that they have soy milk for an option, rather than just oat or almond for non-dairy like a lot of places. On the second morning, I tried the Rose City Fog, which was a Portland version of a London Fog with rose syrup added. It was really good, and not as sweet as I feared. What a cute donut shop! Love all the pink! This location is located in downtown Portland, so the parking can be tricky. This shop is pretty small inside, with little sitting room. Perfect for takeout though. The employees were friendly and helpful. They helped me pick out customer favorites since it was my first time. I ended up getting the lavender, chocolate and crumb raised donuts, a couple raspberry and custard filled donuts, and a maple bar. All were soft and delicious! They even stayed fresher longer than I expected. Their pricing for whole donuts ranges from $2-$3. They often include extra free donuts when they have too many for the day. They also offer coffee and espresso drinks, and even to-go carafes. They deliver as well. I'll definitely be purchasing these again! Nice place! There's enough seating inside to relax with company. The donuts were a little overpriced in my opinion. While I do love the variety of options, I couldn't try the ones I wanted to try due to cost. The donuts are sorted by regular and some that are more "deluxe." A regular half dozen costs about $16. The donuts were good but nothing I would personally get again. Now the real reason for 4 stars is because the service is AMAZING. There was one lady there and she was just too kind. She answered all my questions and even made small talk with me about my travels. I came because of the photos of Mochi donuts but unfortunately was informed they were no longer making those due to the high price of eggs. The woman working the counter said hopefully as soon as prices drop they would restart, because a lot of people asked about them (this was on 9/30/25). So, I settled for an apple fritter (which was amazing) and some donut holes (very good). I also got the salted caramel latte which didn't have much of any caramel flavor to me so I did have to add sugar (I do like drinks on the sweet side though) so I would not get that again. This location is little more than a walk in window but I'm glad it exists. It's easy to pop in from the max and very conveniently located. They only have one person working generally so a line can form but not too long. Its reasonably priced for a dozen donuts and they will pick out an assortment for you so you don't have to do any mental work there which was nice. Yes we have donut wars here in Portland but this is by far my favorite donut shop. What sets coco apart is that they do a limited amount of donuts, whereas a place like Sesame makes tons of flavors, coco does fewer but what they have will be the best version such as the maple bar. This wasn't my first doughnut stop when in town, but it was one that my colleagues would venture to because I had stopped there. I was craving something a little different for breakfast one morning and I knew I had seen this while passing on the street. I made a note to come back during their hours and grab a to go. Walking in it is quite small, but the right size to make it feel cozy inside. If you are new to the spot like I was, you'll notice that as soon as you walk in you are greeted in hopes to get you moving quickly. Once I was ready, I walked up to the counter and asked for a half dozen mixed. But they just didn't put any old six in the box, they made sure to ask me which ones and flavors looked appealing to me. Honestly, I appreciate your confidence in me being able to down six doughnuts by myself, and I would, but I was grabbing these for me and my coworkers for the morning. Oh Coco, I've missed you. When we decided we were going to Portland for the weekend, I only had two places in mind that I wanted to go back to. I'm sure you can guess what one of them was. I was on a business trip and this was just around my hotel. Having to go to work at 7am, I thought this would be the perfect morning pick me up. One of the days, I ordered the iced coco quad and it tasted sour. I wasn't sure if it was bad or not, so I ended up tossing my coffee. It is hard to find a good donut shop downtown that is not Voodoo and is in the proximity of where I work! I found this little gem through an ad and decided to give it a try. My first trip was a success and now I have found a new place to satisfy my cravings for a donut! Their donuts were very fresh and they had a really good selection. I tried the maple buttermilk bar and it was very tasty. I mentally noted all of the other kinds I wanted to try, including the lavender and the vanilla coconut. They are open early, easy to find and there wasn't a long wait. They are pretty much everything I could ask for in a donut shop. I've ordered DoorDash several times from here and they just cancel orders without calling me. They quite often do not have the donuts that are actually listed in their website, so be careful and be aware of that. Frustrating to not even get a call from them. While passing through Portland, we stopped in quickly after grabbing lunch in pioneer square. Unfortunately we were late to the party and most of the selection had been sold but Paco was extremely helpful in guiding us toward excellent donut selections from what remained. We also got the pistachio matcha drink and the vanilla Thai iced tea which were the perfect complements to the donuts. My wife is repeatedly telling me to mention that the pistachio matcha and the ube donuts were her favorites. Paco was also super friendly and pleasant to talk to. I was looking for some hot chocolate over by Pioneer Square and Starbucks was not the go to place on this day. So, I entered and saw that the menu has lavender hot chocolate. That's a new one on me. I'm a fan of lavender but I'd never had it in hot chocolate. It wasn't strong but it was still tasty and definitely something new and slightly different. I did succumb to a chocolate covered donut with peanuts. Not bad. As I said, I'm no donut expert but it was good and did the trick.
