I've been to Coco Nails twice now and have been happy both times with my nail art. The woman that did my nails the last time (mani pictured) was meticulous with the nail shaping and decals. It's been about a week and my nails are still looking great! My mani itself was fairly priced at $110. Four instead of 5 stars is because about a month ago dip removal was $5 and then they told me the price changed to $10. Thankfully I brought enough cash to cover it and avoid the fee additional charge for using a credit card. Additionally, the girl really went in with the electric file during dip removal and at some points it was a bit painful. This block is very dangerous and scary so be wary if you have a night appt(not something they can control but wanted to warn the girls). This nail appt took forever and I got the same feeling I had as a child and was put on timeout as girl after girl came and went with new nails as I still sat in my chair as the nail tech redid each French nail tip over and over again. Also each girl in there kept asking for "pointier" including myself on filing our nails so be warned their almond is more like oval. I can do 1h and 45 mins for dip nails and painted French tip again(also my real nail so no fake tips). read more

When I would ask for corrections she would roll her eyes or verbally say "oh my god"... By the end I didn't feel comfortable correcting her anymore. Here is the result (the shape is my main issue). My husband is really obsessive about his nails and how they are done ... and for the last few years he's used the same manicurist near where we live. But when COVID hit, our regular place shuttered for a bit and when the city reopened, we didn't feel the old place was a place we were comfortable going back to. He is in the hospitality industry, so good nails are really important. Rubi was his manicurist and I pretty sure tears welled up in his eyes after his first time with her. He said it was the best nail job he ever got. She was thorough and attentive. I'm a simple guy with my nails. Just your basic manicure with a clear polish. I run a nonprofit, so I need it to be clean and professional, without any frills. But I'm very particular. I had Nalia, who is good at what she does. The place is clean and neat and they practice social distancing-ish. Surprised they don't do temperature checks. But, I feel EXTREMELY safe there. I am a first responder and work on the front lines 7-days a week. So, making sure we stay COVID-negative and safe is 100% a must and a priority. I have no qualms about going here. I've been a customer here for the past year and generally had positive experiences, but this was the last straw. I usually go to the salon alone, but I wanted to gift my friend getting her nails done. They refused to let me leave until I tipped, despite already paying for both my nails and my friend's upfront. Here's what happened: I had tipped my nail artist via Venmo before going to the front desk. Once I paid the bill I went back to where my items were. As I gathered my belongings, the staff at the register singled me out, insisting my friend and I couldn't leave without tipping. I told them I already tipped and they kept saying I didn't. I asked my nail artist and she said I did but asked if the tip I sent was just for her or both nail artists. I truthfully told her the amount I sent was just for her. But then the other nail artist was just staring at me. It was incredibly awkward, especially considering it was an honest oversight on my part. I forgot to tip my friend's nail artist. With all eyes on me, I ended up sending an additional tip to the other nail artist. I always tip high, but the way this nail salon went about it was extremely displeasing. You shouldn't force to tip even if we were going to anyway. Being pressured into tipping in such a manner felt unprofessional. Additionally, the salon's pricing is extremely high. While I appreciate the quality of their Japanese/Korean designs, the cost ranges from $120 to $150, excluding tax and tip. Supporting a different nail salon or attempting to do your nails would be a better investment. The prices are unjustifiable, particularly when coupled with the lack of respect demonstrated by the staff. There have also been instances where the designs I requested weren't accurately recreated, with the staff dismissing any discrepancies as minor. I would even say it early in the appointment and they said it looks fine. After experiencing that a few times and this tip situation, I will no longer be coming back. I go here to get my nails done regularly. The nail designs I ask for aren't the easiest but always look amazing. I like the thorough job done on nail care from cuticles to shaping them. I love the way they paint them so perfectly. I'll always come back. Once, I got a matte coat and a week later my gold flakes started falling off, and without hesitation they had me come in and fixed them (obviously free of charge) and did a clear coat instead because they seals better than the matte coat. read more

This review is for Anna, who did my nails so good! She spent great care and time filing my nail and used 3 coats for the color polish as the one i chose was a sheer color. It turned out just how i wanted and it is very clean. The salon is quite busy but there are so many desks and nail artists working and i was able to get a booking the same day i called. I paid around 40$- and 20$ extra for gems but felt like it was a little bit over charged for what the crystals were (especially only on 1 finger) but They also work very fast so i would recommend this salon if you are looking in nyc! read more

I always came here for 2+ years consistently at least once a month and referred 8+ friends to this place to be regular clients as well but will not be returning after encountering Emily. I have never EVER had such a bad experience at a place that should be hospitable. It's like she has anger issues - she asked me if I was okay with the length/shape of my nails and I truthfully told her why I wasn't in a very gentle manner as speaking up is always nerve-wracking (nonetheless I've done it before here and at other salons in the past and no one has had an issue with it) and holy cow when I tell you this woman all of a sudden had the BIGGEST problem when I kindly asked her to even out my nails. The nails on my left hand are significantly longer than those on my right hand, the design is uneven, she was suddenly SO rough with me, cut me several times, etc. She verbally started shouting that this is what I asked for and honestly this was just funny the way she was acting like a child throwing a tantrum even though she should be nice as I'm paying her for her service????? Everyone else in the salon is generally kinder and more experienced. I am not even a picky person and I did not even ask for anything too complex. Absolutely ridiculous for someone to behave like this. And to top it off maybe consider the fact that a good percentage of the population that is not Chinese have learned the language and can understand when you are talking crap. Emily is the worst employee I have encountered across all businesses in my life, you should sincerely work on your attitude problem before ruining the entire company experience for so many people. The other clients in my vicinity all turned their heads because she was screaming at me. How funny is it that you are a grown adult and can't control your temper at work? All the good nail artists seem to have left the salon and you are definitely better off looking for where they went than coming to this salon where the experience has become SO rushed, SO overpriced, SO unprofessional, and SO SO SO rude. Now this place definitely used to be very decent. However, This is my third time in a row receiving lackluster service and quality and for the price, it is so not worth it. My goodness... where do I start?! First I want to say customer service here is excellent. From booking on Yelp and speaking to Xin - absolutely seamless. Xin was very accommodating to my date and time request and when I had to change it, thank you! When I arrived I felt very welcomed by my technician. She was very nice and patient with me pulling up several different images of what I wanted for my nails and explained to me what can be done and what couldn't. She got my trust right off the bar. She helped me create two different sets of nails that I am so incredibly in love with. Lily- you are amazing! I got extensions with different designs on each finger and hand so it took quite some time from start to finish but Lily held up such a great conversation that it didn't feel like I was just sitting there.
