This spot is really cool! A few things that are tough though is the parking is non existent. The drive through moves fast but it gets dangerous as if you are the last car you are on the main street. I've been waiting for this place to open since seeing the signs for it leaving hockey games. There was one car in front of me so the wait wasn't long. I ordered a large Peachy Keen and a Nutella cookie. It was almost $10 for both. I did think it was kind of weird that they had 6 cookie options but only 2 were available. The large drink is pretty big, I could have just gotten a medium. The drink was good but the coconut cream was overpowering so I really couldn't taste any other flavors. I asked if they had any iced coffee with coconut and they recommended the Newport it was good, but did not really taste like Coconut milk, was still good but not my favorite. Me my sister and niece came here for coffee 04/21 around 4:30 ish the person taking our order outside seemed as if she was very over it and wasn't the best at giving recommendations which we asked for because it was our first time there. She kept saying it's whatever your preference is which wasn't helpful in explaining the coffees to the customer. I ordered a small Del Mar my sister a large and my niece ordered a sweetheart matcha which is a matcha with strawberry foam on top. When I pulled to the window to receive my drinks I was watching the coffees being made and the blonde haired girl barely frothed it and then threw it in the cup which I then overheard the girl at the window told her she didn't do it correctly and she said oh well to send it out like that. The girl at the window said they're going to send it back which I really annoyed me because she basically threw milk in my drink and didn't bother frothing it at all. Which then girl then told her "I fu$&ing told you" then she came to the window, very aggressive and asked me what the problem was I then told her the consistency of the drink wasn't right and I heard her say she was just going to send it out like that. She then told me that it comes out like that sometimes. I then reminded her I heard her conversation with the other barista and saw she blended it with a hand blender for 10 seconds and called it a day. And she then told the other worker you can make her drink and walked away with an attitude. Worst service. I went asked to speak to the manager whos name was Cassie I told her the problem and then asked for the rude employee name which she refused to give to me for "safety reasons" when I asked again she asked why I was asking I told her for my review she gave me a refund but still no name. I would never come back her worst barista's that made your drink how they like & even cuss in front of customers obviously can get away with whatever. 0/10 stars if I could. Today I stopped at Coco playa because it just opened and I always see it. When I ordered I asked the girl at the counter what drink was on the display picture. She said she didn't know but if she had to guess it was the La Jolla. I ordered one iced La Jolla medium. When she called it I asked if it was the one in the display picture because it didn't have any of the whipped cream or the Carmel or mocha drizzle. Which she responded "you didn't ask for any of those" as she's still handing me the drink I ask if I can pay for those add ons. To which she responds "we can't take back the drink" mind you we haven't even had the drink for 10 seconds. I could tell I was getting nowhere with her rude and snarky attitude so I just took the drink as is. Drink was tasteless, I could have made a coffee at home if this is what I knew I was getting. Please work on better customer service as well and making customers aware that whip and drizzle are an "add on". I wish I caught the girls name but she had short brown hair and a septum. When I went through the drive through today a girl with black hair and thick eyebrows made my drink wrong and I asked why it was a different drink than what I ordered. She continues to make faces and rolled her eyes while making direct eye contact with me. I visited twice, and both times, I encountered a very rude employee--a guy with a mustache--and unfortunately, the girl taking my order wasn't friendly either. The drinks were terrible: flat and not at all what I ordered. I couldn't believe how unwelcoming the staff was. I've lived in Point Loma my whole life and have always had great service at local spots, so this was disappointing. Sadly, it felt like a case of the "new entitled generation." Don't get a drink with the vanilla creme as the creme ruins the drink and becomes white and foamy and the creme breaks down. You're better off getting anything else but this as the drinks have mostly syrups and no naturally made bases. The cookie is delicious! Definitely reminds me of the cosmic brownie and it even has one inside which surprised me in the best way the beach please was something different but really good! I love that they have several sugar free options. I got an iced coffee with sugar free vanilla and a splash of half and half. I don't like the taste of overly bitter coffee and theirs was NOT. I also enjoyed a sugar free vanilla drink with fizz. We also had a blueberry muffin and the Nutella cookie. Both were great, but I will be ordering that cookie again. The employees were friendly. The young lady working the drive through (also dealing with the flying umbrella) at around 11:30ish today was very helpful and friendly with recommending drinks. We will be back for sure. Randomly stopped by CoCo Playa on my way to work one morning and I'm so glad I did! If you're a sweet coffee person like I am this place has so many to choose from, they also have dirty sodas, energy drinks and pastries! There are multiple menus outside, a friendly barista to take your order, and a big QR code to scan with your phone. The drive through option makes it easy to be in and out quickly which is super great and convenient. Definitely would recommend CoCo Playa!!
