This cozy cafe/sports bar offers brunch from morning until afternoon and then switches to more of a sports bar menu. The bacon and cheese omelet was tasting, and accompanied by nicely crisped home fries. The cinnamon French toast included two poofy pieces of brioche, nicely grilled, and served with assorted fruit. A cozy place in the heart of Vancouver's West End. The service was friendly and the menu had something for everyone. From pastas and burgers to amazing salads! I had the masala chicken and my friend the glazed salmon salad. Both were delicious, plentiful and very healthy. The prices are very competitive and reasonable and the food felt like homecooked meals :D I highly recommend this place for a nice treat whilst in the heart of downtown Vancouver. I had high expectations for this restaurant because it always seemed to be packed. However, after dining here I realized the reason why it always seemed "busy" was because the service was so slow, especially when you sat outside. When we were seated outside, nobody came to greet us. We had to wave through the window in order to get attention from a waiter and then actually ask to see the menu. Menu wise, this is a good place to go to if you're looking for cheaper drinks. I believe most cocktails were $10. As for the food, I had the sliders and it was so so. Nice spot on the corner of a busy intersection. It's a quaint corner cafe with a middle eastern flair. They offered a varied menu and I could smell the curry. Wings option in the middle of downtown. Parking is available on the side streets, and on Robson after 2200. The venue consists of a smallish bar area, and 2 patio areas outside. The wings are advertised as 49c each, but a drink must be ordered with each dozen or so. In other words, it can add up really quickly as one cannot simply order a pile of wings and 1 beer. Something to keep in mind. With that said, the suicide ones have a pretty good kick to them. Looks like this place is a decent choice, but there are plenty of alternatives in the direct vicinity. read more

Came here for breakfast...oh, bad idea! There was only one server and 11 table tops then the bar. She's running the floor and another guy in the back doing all the cooking. We ordered the pancake with sausage and egg Benedict platter. I originally ordered my Benedict with fruit bowl, and she ended up giving me hash browns instead, then my husband's breakfast sausage tasted funny, because it wasn't cooked thoroughly, top it off the fruit bowl on his order had gone bad but yet they still serve it, which came with some fruit flies along. The server didn't seem to care about the problems, she never came to check on our table or even bother trying to fix the problems. Not sure how this place is still surviving, but the only good thing is their hot water, tea packet, honey, Tabasco sauce and the tomato sauce. read more

I came here for vacation and my hotel was just down the block, so when my friends and I explored Robson street we always walked by this place. It always smelled SO good. We stayed here for about and week and decided to give it a try on our last night, which we regretted because we wanted more! I enjoyed their 25 cents wings... i remember the shrimp being good as well but definitely the wings. If we didn't have to go to dinner after, we would of stayed longer and ate more! Went for a late night supper last night. Service was decent. I ordered a peppercorn steak and my companions each ordered a beef dip. Theirs came out 10 minutes before mind did. Their au jeau was cold and so was the gravy. Back to the kitchen it went. It came back and you could tell the bowls had been microwaved but then not even stirred. Still cool. My medium rare steak showed up well donr, and I sent it back. Needless to say my companions were finished theirs by the time my food arrived. We got the bill and no attempt was made to compensate us for the mistakes or the poor food. I asked for the manager. I got salt pepper wings, a bit bland. There wasn't much seasoning on them. They were plain wings. My fiance seemed to enjoy his wings. Service was mediocre. The owner was there helping the servers out but there were times where my fiance's father had to go up to flag someone down. Reason as to why i wanted to give them a lower rating because one of the waitress came out and said we were short $2. My fiance swore that he paid enough to cover tip. It took awhile for them to figure out if any tables were free for our group of five. Really, the restaurant isn't that big - you can just glance and see if there's room. The patio was packed, so we were seated just inside the door at low table with a couch. Comfy, but not when you have to squish in with your buddies. For all my complaining though, they make the best pina coladas EVER! I was so ready to order another one. Forget the 25 cent hot wings and shrimp (which were good too) -- the pina coladas are my reason for coming here! Horrible service and lousy food. I ordered the veggie pizza and had to ask for a new one after they forgot two of the ingredients (goat cheese and olives). In a moment of good faith, I requested my second pizza to be packed up and didn't bother to look inside of the box when it was brought to the table... Because really, who screws up pizza twice? I was a little disappointed to say the least when I got home and opened the box to reveal a soggy pizza that was covered in feta cheese. NOTE: Don't order anything with goat cheese in the description. You will not get it. Bonus if you like feta cheese! They also charged an additional $1 for each flavor of sauce on the wings that we ordered. I have never seen that in my life. There was no mention of it in the menu, nor did the waitress tell us. Alongside the hidden sauce charges and the lack of ingredient/basic cheese knowledge amongst staff, the waitresses were lazy and rude. One of them actually sat down at the table next to ours and ate food with one of the kitchen staff, failing to refill drinks, clear the dishes, or do her job in general. The (Granville Island Lager) beer is very reasonably priced (Sun. - Thu.) in both pint and pitcher format. I've been visiting Vancouver's West End on business for a week every August for the past few years. Coco Rico is near my hotel and I have spent many hours in the evening there having beers, wings and enjoying the people and car watching rolling by the patio on the corner of Robson and Jervis, waiting for it to get dark... around 10PM! If you are looking for a place on Robson mid-week for a few reasonably priced beers, a cheap plate of wings, and a nice place to sit outside and watch the world go by... this would be an excellent choice! 4 stars for those specifics. read more

Coco Rico offers tasty food for the price, but unfortunately the bar is totally lacking in atmosphere and identity. I'd recommend this place if you're on Robson and looking for a cheap bite to eat. The salads and sandwiches are $10 or less and hit the spot. The breakfast is particularly nice - pancakes and a fresh fruit salad for around $8. The breakfast special is even cheaper and deserves a good rating in its price category. Sadly, the only draft beer comes from Granville Island. The martinis I've had here were quite good, but these and the wine are overpriced for a cafe bar with no personality.
