Would give the place zero stars if I could. Went here once with my young Ds and husband. Got sprinkles on sons yogurt cup. Just as I was paying I noticed there was a bug on top of the yogurt from the sprinkles. I told the older lady working there and she didn't really care or apologize. I stayed outside in our car for awhile and watched the store. NEVER did I see the lady go and change the sprinkles. Disgusting!! read more

I wouldn't give this place any stars. The place was not busy and when I asked if I may sample some yogurt the "manager" advised he would do so. He had a handful of little cups in his hand and he had just handled a monetary transaction. I asked if I could grab a little cup myself since I would put my mouth on it and his hands were dirty. He said No! I have to do it and it's the rules. I further explained that his hands had germs after handling a monetary transaction and that I would prefer to hold it and he could put the sample. He said No! I told him he didn't have to be rude and he said if we didn't like it we didn't have to sample anything. Clearly he didn't want our business which is firm because this establishment doesn't care about their customers well being and spreading germs! I am a cancer patient and germs and contamination can cost me my life. It's too bad I couldn't enjoy some yogurt on a nice sunny day because the "manager" didn't understand my concern with his rule. This place is disgusting! Walked out without buying anything. The man working behind the counter had waited on a large group of people as we walked in. Hardly even noticed my husband and me coming in. Seemed to distracted and not paying attention. Certainly didn't look like he wanted to be there but rather some place else! We waited patiently while he finished up with the group and asked for a sample. Besides him, we were the only people there. I love tart yogurt and my favorite flavor in the world is Pinkberry! Since there aren't any Pinkberry stores around here- this looked like a good substitute. I again asked for a sample. He whipped out from his apron pocket- without even washing his hands --a sample cup when he asked me what flavor and gave me a small sample from the machine -ignoring my husband standing there. My husband then asked for a sample and he then gave him a taste of the flavor he asked for. I thought my flavor tasted kind of like Pinkberry and I would have bought a cup but I was too disgusted after he is rolling his hands among the cups in his pocket, playing with them like a deck of cards. I'd give them minus 100 stars for that. We both just walked out never to return. Basic hygiene people! And cups should be behind the counter in a neat stack not in your dirty apron pocket! No telling what kind of bacteria is growing inside the machines if this is standard practice in front of customers! read more

YAY for Coco Swirl! Finally a tart yogurt store has hit the Contra Costa area! Now I get to take my yogurt & enjoy it... AT HOME! Until now, I've had to go to SF or Berkeley to get my tart yogurt fix, or Yogurt Park in WC which is good in it's own way... but I'm just so happy Coco has opened. They are open late even on Sundays. I had half original and half blueberry. Delish!!! The original was very tart (almost sour) but I love it! And they DID have fresh blueberries and strawberries today. What was good was that I was expecting something similar to Icebee in San Fran, but it was WAAAAY better than that. Actually tasted like yogurt, and not artificial! At only 40 cents/ounce, you can't beat that! P.s. Even their yogurt containers are cute! read more

I am very satisfied with Coco Swirl! I've been waiting for a while here in Pleasant Hill area for a yogurt place like this where you can find down in SoCal. I enjoy CS because it has the sweet and tart yogurt flavor similar to Pinkberry! I had the Blueberry, Mango, and Original with some fruits on top and I absolutely enjoyed it! I agree that is very addicting and you will go back for more. Some people love it to begin with, some will take time to get use to, and some will not like this type of frozen yogurt at all. A clean, well-lit place for OUTSTANDING yogurt, if you know what I mean. Textures and flavors are excellent. The "Original-Tart" flavor is impossibly good for no added color or flavor. If you prefer the shiny, slightly gummy, mass-produced stuff that so many shops offer, then you might not like this. Otherwise, go for it. You'll love it. I could eat here two or three times per day. love this place!! the staff was very helpful when I came--they offered me a sample as soon as I walked in and backed off when I told them I needed to take it all in. It's nice that you get to control how much yogurt/toppings you want to put in your cup. My favorite was the chocolate mint mixed w/ the espresso ;). Of course I'm a little kid and added candy/cereal/cookies and maybe a single strawberry (hey, I'm healthy!). Obviously this isn't a health food (it has too much sugar obviously and you're lying to yourself if you say otherwise) buuut on a spectrum of deserts, this is a great choice. I left feeling satisfied and not overly stuffed--if I want a sweet treat that doesn't leave me feeling too too guilty I'll head over here. That's right. 5 stars. I wouldn't drive all the way to Pleasant Hill after work from SF for any old frozen treat. I like a little fro-yo just as much as the next guy but this place is different. It's absolutely delicious. It's self-serve, so YOU determine the chocolate-to-raspberry-to-natural plain ratio that works for you! My fiancé loved the pistacio, and he's tried nearly all the flavors. I love to concept of making your own cup and adding toppings yourself. The yogurt is pretty good. The prices are higher than Frutti Tutti in Walnut Creek though I am sure the rent is more in downtown too. I love their mochi topping which they make daily. I am happy with the selection of flavors and typically combine 5 or so together for variety. This yogurt doesn't have any aftertastes, which I appreciate very much. The round poppers are a great topping and worth trying. They are refreshing on a hot day. I am glad to see this place do a consistent business regardless of the time of day or evening. I think the workers need to do more to greet their regular customers to show their appreciation to their patrons' too. It is important to the customer to feel we are appreciated. When we feel at home, we are more likely to return often. I love that they have a contest to see who can make the LARGEST cup of yogurt. Last I checked, some young men made a cup that amounted to about $18 and then they beat their own record and got to $20. Don't encourage me to top that. It could happen if nobody is looking. I'm not really a fan of the tarty pinkberry froyo but I actually like their tart flavor... so it's probably not a favorite for those who really love pinkberry... but I really love all their other flavors... I put a bunch of different flavors (tart, mango, strawberry, blueberry, peach, and cheesecake) in my cup and they were all good... They were super refreshing... I topped it up with a bunch of fresh fruit and I can never forget the mochi. Their mochi was cute because it was pink... haha. I love the self serve idea... but this place gets packed because there is no lines or order and the toppings area is so small and cramped. They need to rope it off so theres a line or something. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Rude workers, wouldn't give any sample cups. I had a tiny drop of runny yogurt that I didn't want that I threw away and the guy made me pick it up from the trash and actually pay for it. Which was only 1 dollar by the way. After I paid for it he was STILL arguing and using rude language. He even followed me outside and was still arguing after I bought ANOTHER yogurt. I really like the quality and texture of their yogurt. It's very creamy which I prefer. They change their yogurt flavors quite often. I realy like their cheesecake and lemon custard flavor. I've never seen a lemon custard flavor and I've been to over a dozen yogurt places nationally. This isn't one of my favorite yogurt places ever, but I think it's one of the best ones in the Walnut Creek area. This frozen yogurt place was HORRIBLE! First of all, I walked into this establishment and the owner gave me an attitude after I had to ASK for a sample cup. Before she gave me the sample cup, however, she was cleaning the tables and around the ice cream dispensers. She didn't even wash her hands before giving me the sample cup. When she had the sample cup in her hand she rudely asks, "Which one do you want?!" Basically, I couldn't get my own ice cream sample!!! So I threw it away because she had her filthy hands all over my sample cup! Next, I pulled a regular cup for my frozen yogurt and I went over to get some yogurt when the yogurt came out melted!! EXTREMELY MELTED!!! I went over and threw the cup away... Again, she gave me an attitude saying, "You know you have to pay for that, you cannot just throw away my cups!" I said, Okay lady I will pay for it. I did and she just stared at me the whole time! On top of all of this, there were gnats and flies where the strawberries and other fruits were!!! CocoSwirl, your product is great, your venue needs help. First off. Let me point out the obvious... Its pretty hard to eff up frozen yogurt. With that being said, the flavor selection is good, however they have HUGE containers, if you want a small or just a few bites, since your paying by the ounce, dont have huge containers that you charge your customers $.50 - $1.00 just for the empty cup by weight. Secondly, your "no credit cards under $10" policy is a violation of Visa and Mastercard acceptance laws... Get it together guys, if you want us to complain to Visa and get your ability to process credit cards revoked, thats the quickest way to do it. Third, not everyone likes rap, so stop playing the music so damn loud. read more

We are big fans of customer service. This place does not come close. When they first opened a little over a year ago, they seemed interested in customer service. Customers were greeted and even offered loyality punch cards. The last few times we were there, the customer service was missing in action. In addtion, the loyality cards weren't offered any more. My thoughts were, the business was lucky enough to do well right away. So the owners hired non-customer service oriented workers and abandoned the customer service and loyality cards. We now go to Yogurtland, which has a bigger selection and is much better. Not to mention, it's about a $1.00 per cup cheaper. read more

This is an amazing frozen yogurt place. There's only ONE Coco Swirl in the world as the employees say. It is also placed in Broadway Plaza a great place where its truly one of a kind. The environment is very tranquil and bright. The pastel colors are well matched and very cute. It has a certain calmness about the place. Coco Swirl is always playing music that you can happily dance too if thats the kind of music that you like. The place is kept clean very well. The floor and chairs are impeccably in place and are always being wiped, mopped or swept. Whenever a spill occurs or there's a mess it is taken cared of immediately by the outgoing staff. The staff behind the job does an excellent job. They're always smiling and happy even on the weekends when these poor teenagers have to be working hard where as other teenagers are going out having a good time these are working late hours. Cocoswirl is open till 10 on the workdays and open till 11 on the weekends, great hours for business. They keep the toppings full with fresh fruit that I was told was cut daily every morning, mochi that is homemade by the owner's mother, and various other toppings that are spectacular and that compliment the yogurt very well. They have tons of flavors which never have a repeating pattern so you'll never really know what your coming in for. The downside to that though is that they might not have good flavors on a particular night. Or they wont have that certain one your craving for on that night that you might really need it. The employees also help new people out with tasting or sampling the flavors of fro yo or any of the toppings with these tiny cups. There's a bar and a small red table where you can sit and enjoy your yogurt. Whenever someone leaves if their not busy someone will come out and clean up after that person. This keeps the place so spotless! Even though the chairs and the tables match well with the atmosphere...the chairs are all broken in way or another. They're adjustable in height so I guess kids like to play around which broke the chairs and their cracked which is highly unattractive. The table in the front window once you walk in is also adjustable which is nice for the kids that wanna eat close to the ground, but its so unstable its always wobbling this way and that. I have never personally found any hair in the yogurt because as far as I've seen the employees keep their hair tied back. Usually when I come in the owners there keeping a stern eye over the business making sure business is okay. He's very keen on customer feedback he usually goes out to say hello to the customers to see if they're enjoying their yogurt or just to say hello. He seems to have a lot of regulars that stop by and know him by name. He's quite outgoing and extremely friendly just like the rest of the staff. When your done getting your frozen yogurt concoction of yogurt and toppings you weigh it on the scale for 40 cents an ounce. Then the employees announce your price and either bag it up for you to take home complete with lids and spoons or give you spoons right there on the spot to eat. On the weekdays I've noticed that there are usually one teenager and maybe an adult to make sure things are running smoothly, very strategically planned. I've had the pleasure of meeting the Coco Swirl crew and they've all been nothing but open, sociable, easygoing, outgoing, approachable people. There's this duo that call themselves, "Coco & Swirl". They are the cutest girls. They announce the yogurt price together and work as a team. They're definitely very entertaining and have that bubbly and perky attitude that just makes you wanna smile. I even caught one of the giving someone words of wisdom or advice. These teenage girls know the meaning of customer service. Behind the counter theres a picture of the first day they opened in the summer of 08. I believe its the owner and the his family, this adds on to the family-friendly business feeling that they hold. I can't believe I didn't notice the yelp sticker in their front window all the gazillion times I've been there to nurse my addiction. All in all Coco Swirl is a lovely family business that hasn't once disappointed me yet, (except for those flavors that I want on that particular night). Had I written this review a year ago, I would have given a higher rating. The yogurt quality has definitely changed and flavors don't rotate as often. Toppings were also a little disappointing. I had the original tart, mango tart, blueberry tart, and guava tart yogurts with strawberries, blueberries, and mochi Pros: Perfect texture - icy but creamy. Reasonably priced. Fresh toppings! Cons: The blueberry flavor was a bit too strong, similar to Yogurtland I was impressed with Coco Swirl. It was much better than expected! Creamier than Yogurtland but icier than Red Mango. While I still prefer Blush (more subtle flavors), this is definitely in my top 5! read more

I was couldn't believe my eyes when I went to buy my it I noticed a black hair about 3 inches long in my yogurt. I got strawberries and they must have been in it. Great place for a Pinkberry craving!! I saw this place a few months ago and it was still being constructed. Last night went there with the kids and husband. First off the price is really good, $.40 an ounce and it is self serve, so you get as much or as little as you want. Works out great for me because my kids don't eat too much and they probably only got about 2 ounces each. After you fill your cups you go to the toppings and put the toppings that you like. I got the Plain (tart) yogurt with Mochi, Strawberries and Mangos. My son got Mango (tart) yogurt with mini M&M's and my daughter got strawberry with rainbow sprinkles. The total cost for al lof us was $6.05, what a deal compared to Pinkberry prices and the flavors are comparable. Coco Swirl has 10 flavors to choose from and plenty of toppings. I like the plain yogurt and the taste is comparable to Pinkberry. I am so glad we have a yogurt shop like this in our area. I know I will become a regular there. read more

Ok first of all, I dont come into a yogurt shop to eat a "guilt-less" treat. I know its gonna make me fat if I eat alot, so when I do eat it I want it to be good. With that said, Coco Swirl didn't make it worth it. The variety of yogurt was extensive, but the consistency was off. I've enjoyed pinkberry on occassion and Ive enjoyed red mango for their non-tart options. But when yogurt shops began offering tart/non-tart as well as a plethora of fun fruity flavors, well I haven't looked back since! In LA, where I'm from, many of the yogurt options down there straddle the line between too icy and too melty. Coco Swirl however, to my surprise, actually found that amazing threshold that balanced texture and flavor. They seriously did it! I poured myself a cup of pomegranate and mango yogurt swirls and sat down to chat with a friend. About 10 minutes passed and the yogurt had BARELY melted! Not to mention they truly burst with flavor. I'm all over this tart yogurt bandwagon... saw the coming soon sign awhile ago, but only recently tried it when my co-worker finally mentioned it opened. We went immediately after stuffing ourselves with lunch from one of the near fast food establishments, so unfortunately there wasn't much room for sweets in my stomach. If I were a business owner, self-serve would be the way to go. However, as a consumer, I hate self-serve! One must observe much self-restraint! So I did, with a tiny amount of tart strawberry/blueberry swirl with fresh strawberries and a bit of mochi. The little mochi pieces are cute with non perfect squares and different colors. I tried my co-worker's green tea which had a very strong flavor. I wish smaller cups were offered. Seemed such a waste for my $1.76 cup. Perfect amount for a light afternoon snack! read more

Great froyo! Was craving, read some reviews and glad we came here we got 3 and spent around Lil less then $15. The price is up to you since they weigh it after you make it. I chose to try a Lil bit of every flavor that appealed to me...outcome? Yuuuummmm! After you get your froyo then u hit their toppings bar. Fresh strawberries, kiwi, chewy mochis, lychee jelly, and cheesecake cubes, crunchy and dough cookie, and more! It was a great treat for a late Sunday treat. Service was great as well. Oh, thank goodness! A tart frozen yogurt place within 20 miles of our house~! I've become quite addicted to tart frozen yogurt and have great appreciation for the perfect ratio of mochi and blueberries with my froyo. When I moved up this way, I was disappointed to discover that the greater Vallejo area didn't have a single frozen yogurt emporium. Until now! Well, it's not quite Vallejo, but it's a whole lot closer than the other places I've found. CocoSwirl is fantastic. They offer multiple flavors of tart frozen yogurt each day as well as more traditional flavors. It is self-serve so you can determine your own blend and amount. Then there are the toppings. They offer fresh fruit, mochi, lychee and other sweets to top the froyo. Their tart flavors are out of this world. I'm officially addicted to the mango and pineapple flavors. I'm so glad that they've opened up in Pleasant Hill. If you go on the weekdays, parking's a breeze. And you can even couple your frozen yogurt run with lunch at Sweet Tomatoes, Chipotle, Daphne's or Fatburger. If it weren't for the $4 toll between Vallejo and Pleasant Hill I would be there several times a week! read more

Yay for Coco Swirl! This place has a large and delicious variety of flavors to choose from as well as several different toppings to go w/ your froyo. My favorite tends to be Mango or Original (I know not very exciting huh?) but I just love the tart flavors! I recently went in to get froyo and they had green tea mochi!!
