This was, by far, the worst frozen yogurt I've ever had. I took my brother and we both got chocolate and vanilla swirl with a few toppings. The yogurt didn't have much flavor and the flavor that it did have was off. There were some little gnats circling the cheesecake bites, which was also off putting. My brother got halfway through his and then threw it out (which never happens, he has a very healthy appetite). I finished mine because I was starving, but it left an odd after taste in my mouth. On my last visit in, I noticed that they now have waffle cones. I asked the friendly lady working there about the waffle cones and we got to talking. She told me she is the new owner of Coco Swirl and that she actually makes the waffle cones in-house. I had to try one with half Dole Pineapple and half pistachio. The cone was was perfect and Dole Pineapple is hands down the best flavor in my opinion! It tastes just like the Dole Whip you get in Disneyland! I heard a lot of good things with Coco Swirl and since Ice N Tea completely was a fail, I drove over to Coco Swirl in hopes to get my boba lunch fix. How was it? Boba was undercooked, but sweet. Milk black tea was okay in sweetness and felt like an earl grey. For $3.25 for a large size, I can't super complain, but hard boba is not really fun to eat. The descriptive review: Coco Swirl is located in downtown Pleasant Hill located right near Corner Bakery and now new Lizzie's Pies. There's parking along the main street though you're likely better off parking in the larger lot behind. There were two workers tending to my order. Both nice. Coco Swirl is primarily a frozen yogurt place a la Yogurtland, but they also do sell boba and ice cream which you can also place in between a donut! They quickly made my boba and I was off! The tea though of my own fault was a bit sweet, but you can get it customized in sweetness. You can get various different toppings but I went with the standard honey boba. It was sweet, but very hard which leads me to believe it was yesterday's boba or undercooked. Would I come back? Unlikely. I actually would prefer Quickly which is cheaper and although hit and miss on the boba, usually is cooked properly. read more

I was very disappointed on my last visit that it ALMOST ruined my yogurt experience all together... I was so excited to bring my boyfriend here (something new for him to Yelp about) because I've been raving about how great my last experience was and that this place was voted "Best Yogurt in the East Bay" according to KRON4 News. When we got there, my yogurt easily melted so it looks soupy by the time I paid and the fruit toppings weren't fresh. My boyfriend didn't get mochi because he said it didn't look fresh. I felt so bad because (1) he's a big fan of mochi and (2) I've been telling him that this place makes their mochi fresh daily. I would like to think that our experience was a one-time thing since they were closing and/or we just came on a bad day, but I honestly feel that if they were closing, they shouldn't turn off the machines until the place IS actually closed so the last customers will have the same great experience as the first customers. read more

I went to Coco Swirl for the first time after receiving a coupon in the mail. The yogurt options were not as extensive as places like Yogurtland. Moreover, one of the machines had liquid yogurt come out and I had to dispose a cup. The yogurt was typical which isn't a good or bad thing, but it was average. As much as we love cocoswirl's frozen yogurt, we won't be going back soon. We went in on Friday night and the place really stinks. Melted yogurt dripping off all of the machines and a couple out of order. Toppings station doesn't look like it's been cleaned in awhile and the topping containers haven't been washed. It wasn't busy so I'm not sure what the problem was. I figured it was later in the evening, got my yogurt and left. The next day my kids wanted to go so we went again. I'm not kidding when I say it looked exactly the same but worse. Like nothing had even been cleaned overnight. I expected there to a reset at close of shift and I don't think anything was done. Pretty decent spot. There were just enough flavors of fro-yo, but minimal toppings. Luckily, the toppings were delicious and my snack, as a whole, was was satisfying. WOW this new ownership has really brought Coco Swirl to life again. The selection is great. The added addition of Boba is a very nice and tasty touch to the menu. I strongly recommend Thai Milk tea boba. Very authentic tasting. Reminds me of the ones served in Thailand. The Dole Pineapple Soft Serve is worth the trip alone. Taste just like the ones you get at the Dole Whip plantation in Hawaii or Disneyland's Dole Whip in the park. Luckily getting your hands on it doesn't require you traveling far, just to Pleasant Hill. I would attach photos to this review BUT its always gone before I could bring my phone out. I haven't had frozen yogurt in years! I was in the mood for some and when I was driving I noticed coco swirl was open during the shelter in place. It's not self serve right now but they had all available flavors and topics listed clearly to choose from. The person working there was very friendly and she checked in with me to see if I wanted more etc. She was available to give me exactly what I wanted amount wise. I got some vanilla and some dole whip with mochi on top. The dole whip was amazing! Got my bowl for $2.50! Price is not bad at all. Was happy with What I got. It tasted great and was refreshing. Review #056 - 2017 After shopping at the Carter's store and walking around the shopping center, I decided to treat myself and the baby to some fro-yo since the weather was so nice out. We walked in and the place was pretty empty, but there were a few people sitting out front enjoying their fro-yo. I asked the gentleman who was working if I could get a sample cup and he asked me which flavor I wanted to try so I asked for my usual, their original tart, which was really good. I also decided to sample the Ghirardelli chocolate, which was ok when I sampled it, but left a bit of a weird after taste when I decided to buy a few ounces. The place seemed clean and the man was nice and friendly. They had about 8-10 different flavors available, but I only tried the two that I ended up purchasing, which were good enough. My favorite go-to yogurt ice cream place! Everything here is pretty regular for a yogurt ice cream place; their pricing and toppings are what you see at any other yogurt place. They also have a wide variety of flavors. My favorite is the tart flavor. The reason why this place is my favorite is because of their mochi. I believe their mochi is handmade because it's so fresh and soft every time I have it as a topping. I always get the tart yogurt with strawberries and mochi. I also sometimes add their lychee jelly and mangos. I'm not a fan of their boba drinks but I highly recommend their yogurt and toppings, especially their handmade mochi; it's so fresh! I saw an IG post from a friend holding an ice cream donut from this place and it was calling my name. I knew I had to make a visit. So I drove from Dublin to Pleasant Hill and ordered me a glazed donut with mocha almond ice cream. My mouth was watering. I really like "fro-yo", but I'm not obsessive about it. Coco Swirl has a nice selection of self-serve yogurt flavors, with a variety of toppings available. It's all tasty, but perhaps not warrenting a 5 Star "As Good As It Gets" Yelp rating. Coco Swirl is an easy walking distance from Gayle's house. The store space is clean and well kept. It's roughly across the street from Cold Stone Creamery and in my opinion equally overpriced. The best deal by far is the $1 ice cream cone at the Baskin Robbins near Todo Santos Plaza in Concord. And Loard's in Pleasant Hill (near Safeway) also offers tasty and economical options. read more

This store needs to work a little harder on variety. I dont like the fact that its 38 cents an ounce when the flavors are not that great. I tried thin mint and bleeech I wished I hadnt. My friend tried to get some samples and the girl behind the counter had to give her the cups to sample and then stand there next to her as if to question if she was going to buy anything or something? That was rude. The toppings are so-so. Very basic. I would rather go to Orange Leaf by Safeway which is 2 minutes away anyday. They are 8 cents cheaper an ounce and have a wayyy better selection of EVERYTHING and the cups, sample cups, waffle cones, etc., are all right there and they dont hover all over you. CocoSwirl was the first frozen yogurt place I've ever visited. I've never heard of a self serve ice cream place you could add your own toppings to! And they charge you by weight! Haha - but this was 4-5 years ago? And now I'm more educated on my frozen yogurt ;) This place always has great service, new flavors, and fresh fruit toppings. I haven't been here in a while because of a closer froyo place that opened up in my hometown. Now it seems they also offer froyo cookies, ice cream doughnut sandwiches, and boba drinks! The evening I went they offered pistachio and peanut butter to be enjoyed separately or swirled together, and for another yummy combo they had chocolate mint and raspberry. this was actually the worst service I've ever received in my life ever and I am over 50 years old. I went in there. There were only three flavors available even though five were posted and then one of the three were mango and it wasn't working. I asked the lady there for help because it wasn't coming out. She looked perturbed that I asked for any help so I stood back and watched her as she tried to intimidate me with her arm movements and speaking intimidatingly talking to me in an unnecessary fashion me and bullying me and then telling me when I asked for the owner that the owner was lucky to have her because she or they don't have anybody left. This place exceeded my expectations! My favorite flavors are strawberry and mango! I'm from L.A. so I've had my share of tasting yogurt, so imagine my surprise to find this shop in the bay area. Voted 2008 Best Yogurt Joint in the Bay, Coco Swirl changes its flavors every day so there is always something wonderfully new to look forward to. Because Milk Tea Lab is temporarily closed and I'm stubborn and still wanted a boba fix, we found this place only a couple a minutes away, and what a mistake that was. Walked in and the girl working was right in front of us, looked at us and kept walking. No hi, no smile, no greeting. Wonderful. We walked up to look at the menu and she came behind the counter and looked so irritated to be working. Hands on her hips, open eyes, eyebrows up. Not only do I feel bad for people like that, but I get irritated by them. When I told her we were still looking at the menu, she rushed out from behind the counter to clean the frozen yogurt machines. When she finally did take our order, this girl had so much attitude, I threw some back and she realized she needed to calm the f*** down. So in addition to the rude service, the boba drinks here SUCK. Don't waste your money. Go somewhere else. I realize that this place doesn't specialize in boba drinks, but if you can't do it right, don't do it at all because you're wasting your time. read more
