The ice cream here is really great, definitely recommend the DOLE whip. But lots of times, the employees are teenagers who just don't put a smile on your face. They seem so unenthusiastic about working there. And I wouldn't recommend the boba. First of all, it takes about five minutes to make it. Second, it just doesn't taste good. I've tried plenty of boba before, and this boba just is never as good. I usually get milk tea, and it's always too much or too little milk. The popping boba pearls have a gross aftertaste, but I know that there's better ones out there. If you want boba, you should get a boba kit from Trader Joes. Those taste much better. read more

I went here mid-week during lunch and it wasn't busy at all. The owner was behind the counter and was super nice and accommodating. They offered free samples of the flavors I was interested in. He was also very helpful on giving tips on the best way to fill my yogurt cup. For maximum taste, get a max of two flavors and fill the cup side by side rather that one on top of the other. Good tip! You're either a sweet and creamy froyo eater or the light and subtle kind. My preference for frozen yogurt always navigates to the the tart flavors so that's what I went with. I went for the Green Apple and Original topped with fresh cut strawberries and mango as well as fresh homemade mochi. The yogurt itself was very good. Held up and didn't melt quickly = tempered just right! I hate when my frozen yogurt turns into a soupy mess. The fruit was fresh and ripe. No complaints there. The mochi was fresh but I've had better mochi. Nevertheless, it was really good. As I sat down to enjoy my treat other patrons came in who were first timers. The owner was gracious enough to explain to them the differences, pluses, and answer questions for them. It was a pretty big group but he was very nice during the interaction. TIP: Bring cash. If you are planning on using your debit card you will be charged an additional $0.40 if your purchase is not more than $10 due to bank charges. Went here for the first time this past Saturday and loved it! The flavors I had were mango, red velvet and pomegranate. Topped it off with freshly cut strawberries, cut up mangos, a sprinkle of granola, coconut flakes and a few Oreo cookie crumbs. It was delish!! So light and fresh. I liked it so much I went back again on Sunday. The only disappointment was the flavors I had the day before were no longer available. They change out flavors every 2 weeks and we must have just come on the last day of their 2 week cycle. The new flavors I got were peach, strawberry banana and pomegranate and topped it off with the same toppings as before. The flavors were still light and fresh and I loved every bite. The yogurt shop is a nice little shop with chairs and tabes inside and they have a small patio outside which is shaded. If you're looking for a great yogurt shop, definitely consider this one. I came here based on reviews and was highly disappointed. This is the first time I give a review. The fat lady in there with the accent is super rude. We asked for a sample cup and she stepped out with a mean face and asked "what do you want?" And didn't allow me to get it on my own even tho the others were serving themselves. Ever since the Walnut Creek location closed, I've missed my nearly weekly trips to Coco Swirl. I recently realized the PH location is still here and did a little happy dance. Same great taste, texture and quality as the former WC shop. It has less flavors but I mainly get the vanilla or chocolate anyway. There's not a ton of seating inside but a few tables outdoors as well as the downtown Pleasant Hill general lounging areas. All in all a great little fro yo shop that I hope continues to stay around a while. read more

I believe i have found the best self serve froyo spot around. Not just because the staff is super friendly and super happy all the time, but the yogurt is the best. So today i went back to get me some of that tasty strawberry tart and i seen two new flavors that i haven't seen before. The orange creme tart and the cake batter. Wow both of them were great, the orange creme was the best it had the nice orange flavor with the hint of tarty creme if that made any sense. But the cake batter was also great tasted like real cake batter, can you believe it? Overall this is the place to go if your in the Concord Pleasant Hill area, and want some froyo. 3.5 stars because there is no non-dairy/sorbet choice. I LOVE the concept of self-serve fro-yo. This way I can serve myself several small amounts of different flavors plus have a smidgen of strawberries, a heap of almonds and mini M & M's, etc. They have ten flavors of non-fat fro-yo but no non-dairy or sorbet flavors. Our son was in 7th Heaven and told my vegan hubby to just get a cup of toppings which he happily did. They have Ghirradeli chocolate fro-yo which is not my favorite chocolate brand but I did manage to choke (haha)some down. I still like Yogurtouille in San Mateo the best so far in terms of the self serve fro-yo scene but Concord is a a hecka lot closer than San Mateo. Lots of happy regulars who know the routine were piling on their toppings. Space agey stools with handles to adjust height in vivid colors. Ever since my trip up to Sonoma, I have been craving fro-yo. I was in the area and used my trusty Yelp app to find the closest spot. If I hadn't, I would have driven right past it as it's not that noticeable on this shopping strip. There's not too many places to sit inside, though there are a couple tables outside. They have 8 flavor sand therefore 4 ways to get half and half. I tried the apple, mango and raspberry tart fro-yo, topped it with diced strawberries and granola. I resisted the Cookies n Cream flavor. Maybe next time. Other toppings available were nuts, boba, sprinkles, other fresh fruit and gummy bears! I probably filled my one-size cup to just about half way and it was the perfect amount to satisfy my sweet craving, though it cost me $3.35. Check out the photos on the wall of groups of people spending almost $100 in one fro-yo cup and splitting it. So weird, it's already melting by the time you pay! Anyways, this place is tasty. And its right next door to a place that serves cupcakes, and Cold Stone across the street. Options are good but this is by the far the healthier way to go. Non/low-fat! read more

If you dare try this place, plan on going back here repeatedly. You can't go wrong with this place. I think at any given time, they have about 8 flavors available, and decent assortment of "fresh" toppings. I say fresh, because I saw those guys make it a point to bring out some fresh strawberries when it got low. Anyways, as I said you can't go wrong because they've provided the good ingredients, and so its up to you to just put it together. My friends and I happened to be in downtown Pleasant Hill shortly after this place opened and followed the trail of fro yo eating folks to try it ourselves. A lot of times the "healthy" versions of fro yo or ice cream are icy but theirs is as creamy as can be. I love that you determine the exact amount that you want and that you don't have to order using silly names for the sizes. I had a little of the vanilla and the cheesecake. Solid yogurt place. The yogurt is good, nothing above average, but nothing below. The place was clean, but slightly cramped. I don't remember too much else about the shop, but I don't remember there being too much seating inside. They let you sample the flavors, but you have to ask one of the workers from behind the register and then they do it for you, which made feel hesitant about asking for more samples. This is how they do it at Tartini, but it's easier there because they have more help. The flavors I tried. Original tart-- average, but on the good side Strawberry tart-- tastes like strawberry ice cream Passion fruit tart-- reminds me of mango tart, but it nice flavor Cake batter-- the girl that helped me said this was her favorite, and it was tasty version of sweet creamy yogurt. Decent amount of toppings and the mochi is worth mentioning. It's not the store-bought packaged type (which I do like) but real, fresh mochi. It's pink and white and really good. It's 40 cents an ounce, but mine came out to only $3.80 which is less than what I pay at other places. I guess it's because they give you the option of using a smaller cup, which is nice. If I was in the Concord area again, I wouldn't mind coming here again for my yogurt fix. read more

This has been my go-to fro-yo place since moving back to Walnut Creek but mainly because they carry really great quality frozen yogurt (both tart & sweet) but I have to embarrassingly admit that I prefer sweet over tart almost any day of the week. Yeah, I know, I know....It's not really frozen yogurt then...But whatever-It's still Yum! The mochi is soft but not like the marshmallow-y consistency that the yogurtland chains seem to carry. They have a small toppings bar but the fruit is decent enough. Recently found out that people waste their money to get their picture up on the wall to break the record on either heaviest/most expensive yogurt ever purchased...It's kinda gross-I think they're at like 75$ or so odd dollars...But Hey-If that's your thing-I'm not knocking it..But still...gross.:/ There's a minimum credit card purchase but they offer food, milk teas w/ or w/out boba (tapioca balls), & froyo cookies. Not sure how I've missed this place for the last 3 months but I'm glad I walked by it because there aren't too many froyo places in my area. As soon as I saw the self service set up it brought me back to this place in socal I first tried with this concept. Well they have an array of flavors, from Chocolate (Ghiradelli), Chocolate (no sugar), Vanilla, Tart, Strawberry, Pineapple, Blueberry and Cappucino and possibly a few others I can't remember at the moment. They have a nice selection of toppings and the fruit is fresh. Everytime I'm in the area I'll be back to try so more flavors. One funny thing I heard the other night was this girls was like "they are all non-fat". I was thinking what frozen yogurt isn't non-fat? Who wants fat frozen yogurt? As an fyi, as of September 7th any credit card purchases under $10 get a 40 cent surcharge. So bring cash or spend a lot. lol Which is easy since they weigh your cup. read more

Unlike Pinkberry, they charge by weight (instead by size & number of toppings); and unlike most other places, their yogurt selection is HUGE! I went again last night and current yogurt flavors included: -Regular, Cookies and Cream, Lemon, Ghiradelli Chocolate, Strawberry, Pumpkin, a few others...and my two favorites: Mango and Pina Colada!! Pina is a must try... For toppings they have everything, fruits, chocolates, cereal, and asian stuff -- including mochi (my fav). Fruits are the freshest I've had at a froyo place. A good side cup with plenty of topping will cost you less than $4. Decor is cute with plenty of seating -- what more can you ask of Froyo? Great selection of yogurt flavors, ten total, and I tried some good old fashioned chocolate and cappuccino. There were also some other flavors like pineapple, vanilla, hot dog, and raspberry, I believe. I am pretty traditional so I usually don't do the fancy flavors. Toppings left a little to be desired... No butterfinger. No reese's cup. No cookie dough. But there was fresh raspberry and blueberry which was great. Not tart enough for me. I was really excited to see all the different flavors they had available, but was deeply disappointed when I tasted them. Mmm... Coco Swirl. Great for those hot summer days, and a lighter alternative to Coldstone across the street. At 40 cents/ounce, you fill a cup with froyo flavor(s) and toppings of your choice. They have both tart and non-tart frozen yogurt flavors... my personal favorite is Tart Mango! Coco Swirl is a much better value than Pinkberry. You get more yogurt and more flavors, though they may be less 'exotic' than Pinkberry's. It is a bit more expensive than Yogurtland down the street, but the yogurt is of higher quality. The yogurt consistency is more icy and "crisper" than Yogurtland's, and their flavors aren't fake like Yogurtland's non-tart Strawberry. PROS: - cool modern decor - self-serve "yogurt bar" style - good toppings (mochi much better than Yogurtland's) - family-oriented/hangout environment outside venue CONS: - surcharge for using your credit card (as the sign says "due to EXTREMELY high card fees"). The original to me wasn't as tart as I like it, but still good. I went for the Mango tart (more tart please) and was planning to get my coco pebbles, but...WHAT? No coco pebbles? Is that possible?
