    Mongolian beef

Entrees have decreased in size. Kung Pao chicken dish with medium spice had no taste. Mongolian beef just okay. Pork belly appetizer was good but just fried fat. Finally, Tom yum soup was tasty but mushrooms old. Price was reasonable but frozen entree would be as good if not better. Liked this place on the past but won't return.

Food wasn't all that great. Food was on time as promised. Papaya salad was bland, tasted like water and fish sauce only. Crispy pork belly under salted. Good portion of rice. The Chicken wings were only party wings and not full wings.

Ate here on a late Monday night, there business hours said they closed at 830 but when we got there at roughly 730 we were told they were closing at 8 so we had to hurry up and order. Was a little taken back but didn't really have too much of an issue with that since I already look at the menu or places before go, so we had a good idea of what we wanted already. We got the Pad Se Ew combo noodles, Combo Thai fried rice, and Shrimp in a blanket. Everything came out nice and fresh and the portions were enough to share with another person. It was also nice that for the noodles they don't put spice in it already, they have sauces on the table for you to make it how ever spicy you want. Everything tasted great! I would love to come back and eat here earlier to really get a better feel for the place. But for them getting ready to close the food was good.

    Chicken Chow Mein

This restaurant has been one of our favorite spots for a couple of months and we always had a pleasant experience, but on this occasion we didn't get the best service seemed a bit understaffed because it took longer and their drink machine was down - it happens - but should've been prepped. We got our usual appetizer of spring rolls and they came with this cute heart shaped sauce that we both loved. As for the main course we both decided on new items one was the Pineapple fried rice and the chow mein. The chow mein could've used more seasoning, it was very bland, however, the fried rice did not disappoint. If our service was nicer and fast we definitely would've given a full 5 star review. All in all, this place is a must stop spot in Merced.

This place always hits the spot. My go to is the chicken fried rice and veggie egg rolls. The cashier was the nicest asking about my day but I didn't catch her name the service here is always great but today was just a take out day. The ambiance in the restaurant was amazing with music playing and they were packed!!

We tried to get a table at Mr pho but it was too long of a wait. I had heard good things about this place. Very clean restaurant. It's definitely more Thai than Vietnamese. My wife really enjoyed the food. I prefer Mr pho. It's definitely worth a try. The service was ok.

I came here for lunch with my mom and sister while visiting the food was really good. The service was nice. The food came relatively fast. I just wish I got my food a little bit more spicier, but it was all very good.

Came here for a late lunch and left feeling so Thai-food satisfied! The SO and I were in Merced for the day and ended up coming to Coconut Cafe about 45 minutes before they closed for siesta. We were seated immediately in a small booth. The inside looked like it was getting ready to turn down for their hour break between lunch and dinner (lights off, only natural light peeking through). There's a very cute flower wall for the aesthetic, but mostly it is very industrial with exposed ceilings and some really cool-looking steampunk-esque sconces dotting the walls. We ordered: Thai coffee - great pick-me-up; creamy and caffeinated as it should be Mango slush - tasted like artificial mango (per the SO) like powdery, we would probably skip this one next time Chicken satay - comes with 4 skewers and peanut sauce - pretty basic Chicken chow mein - SO said this tasted great Priew wahn with chicken - very saucy, would probably order this with a different protein next time Pad thai with chicken - SO loved the taste of this one and wished he had ordered this for himself. I loved the huge portion and that I could add my own amount of spice to it using the spices available at our booth. Roasted duck red curry - super flavorful and had plenty of fatty duck pieces. A tiny bit spicy, but so delicious Everything came out timely and piping hot. Service was basic but the ladies were nice. In the end, Coconut Cafe is definitely on my radar to return! I must try their other dishes!

Best Thai food in Merced! The fried rice was delicious I got it with level 7 spice and it had a nice kick to it. If you like spice make sure to try the chili oil on the table. The spring rolls were also fresh and a good start to the meal.

There was 9 of us. We ordered drunken noodles, panang chicken, crisp tofu, chicken pad Thai, pineapple rice, shrimp pad Thai. The heat was medium but the panang was a little hotter than we expected, but very nice. The noise level was almost nonexistent. Warning: they close at 7:30 p.m. Plenty of parking. We had a great time sharing plates and sharing conversation.

Chicken pad Thai spicy level 4

Pad Thai was so good! I got level 4 spicy and half way through it got spicy for me. It's probably a mild spicy I don't handle spice all that well but I still enjoyed my food. Definitely going back!!!

Best Thai food I've had in Merced. Pad Khee Mao with chicken was excellent and ingredients were high quality. Will return for sure.

If you love Thai food then you need to really get yourself out and try the food. The Nok, was so hospitable and working in the kitchen, actually all the ladies that were working in the kitchen were charming and helpful and guided us through the menu and the flavors were so believably wonderful I really missed having true ocean food and this is the destination. You can go to nice restaurants with candles and music and get bad food you come to this quiet little place and sit down and have one of the most incredible meals you've ever had. We are packing a lot of food to go because we live so far away and believe me it will all be eaten with the love of the food and the smiles of the Laotians that made it.

Walk right through the near windowless building and walk back to the right rear corner of the building. The delicious aroma should be your guide. I ordered the Pad eggplant with pork and my partner ordered the Pad Woon Sen. It's also nice that they allow you to pick the protein, Beef, Pork or Chicken. They also ask for your preferred spice level. I say choose carefully as my spice experienced partner confidentially ordered "Spicy". He ended up looking like he got caught in a downpour and was drenched in sweat! lol The woman who took our order was very friendly and helpful! She answered all of our questions about the food with confidence and personal knowledge! The prices are stuck in the early 2020's and the amount of food in the serving is generous! The building is old but the store and the restaurant are spotless! No clutter, all products neatly stacked and the shelves loaded with food items were neatly stacked and arranged. I'll definitely be stopping by again to try the Pad Eggplant with a different protein or maybe to try something new. They also serve drinks. The Thai Ice Tea was very good!
