    Popcorn chicken
    Justin K.

Great customer service and very friendly employees. The popcorn chicken dish was nice and crunchy. Tofu and veggies come with the dish for a more balanced dish. The soft texture of the tofu and crunchy texture of the broccoli are a good complement to the chicken. The only complaint is that the chicken and gravy on the tofu are too salty. Else this is a good dish.

Love coming here to fill my belly this restaurant is a mom and pop shop family own business. Always amazing food. Very friendly staff :) I got the dumpling, fried cuttlefish balls, milk tea with tapioca, and the Crispy chicken bites us a must.

This place has awesome Taiwanese dessert like shaved ice, sweet tofu soup and assorted teas. They also let you pick various toppings like jelly (aiyu, grass, almond etc.), red beans or fruit. I got a sweet tofu soup, a shaved ice and a ginger tea (hot) which was excellent. Also a lemon iced tea. Service was also very prompt - although I wished they brought the food out to you as opposed to you having to go up to the counter to get it (I think one dish was brought to me however). The interior is small but spacious enough to be comfortable - you can also watch whatever it is they are playing on the TV (at the time that movie about young Gru and the Minions). Recommended!

Coco's is a local favorite and serves some of the most authentic and affordable Taiwanese food in the Houston area! I've been coming here for as long as I can remember, so I wanted to give them a shoutout. They have an extensive menu which includes rice and noodle dishes, noodle soups, dumplings, tofu, milk tea/fruit smoothies, and shaved ice. Most of the dishes range between $7-$11 so it's a really good deal for the large portions that you get. Here's what I ordered: - Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken with rice plate (鹽酥雞飯) - Beef Noodle Soup (牛肉麵) - Shredded Pork and Pickled Cabbage Noodle Soup (雪菜肉絲麵) - Dried Tofu (豆腐乾) - Milk Tea with Tapioca Lowkey, family-run, great vibes, and always friendly service!

3 of us finished these in 15 minutes. I'm so stuffed.

Whaaa!!! I'm in tears. I am so happy that Coco's Cafe 可可餐飮 in Sugarland - the one-and-only Taiwanese restaurant still here after CoVid restaurant lockdown of 2020 and chaotic year of restrictions in 2021. My sister requested a special trip because she remembered the tastes when she visited 6 years ago. That was when I hosted Taste of Taiwan UYE and discovered Coco's Cafe has what we crave for. They removed stinky tofu from the menu due to a complaint from a group of customers walked out years ago. We chatted with the owner Mr. Wang. He said they stayed open during CoVid, simply because they didn't have anything else to do. That's a lot of restaurant owners said. It's either stay at home do nothing or come to work because of their passion in feeding hungry customers. They had trouble finding employees, just like any restaurants out there. So, your patience is required. From where I can tell, Mr. Wang will continue serving delicious Taiwanese food until the lease ends. You better hurry up before it's too late.

The egg/tofu appetizers plus their chili/soy sauce sauce is always a favorite of mine!! So simple but the flavors mix well together and the sauce isn't overly spicy and is pretty sweet. Pork Chop Rice is one of my favorites in houston. It did go up in price but is still under $10 pretax. The breading is pretty light and the pork chop is juicy. The side dishes are just ok compared to some of the other Taiwanese restaurants in houston but overall it's decent value for the amount of food you get.

Delicious! Their crepes are so spongy and yum. We had a savory ham crepe and a sweet Nutella and banana crepe. We also had lattes. Everything was delicious

    - so much value for the quantity of food ($9 total!) - really yummy pork chop, broccoli, and egg - fast service - not much seating but still cute and cozy environment

I have never been disappointed every time I eat at this place. The food is really good. It's just a hole in the wall place with nothing much in terms of ambience. During lunchtime the place is packed what with only 10 tables. A lot of to go business. When you're craving Taiwanese cuisine this is the best place to go and eat

Do not wake me up before you Coco to Coco's Cafe, because it's just not my place. Ew. One of our worst experiences in Houston right down from the way that we were greeted with the most hostile, what the f are you doing in my place, kind of attitude, right down to the horrendous dumplings that tasted like they had been sitting in the warm sun for about 2 months and made me sick and I only had one. Everything about this place was disappointing and if it wasn't a family business I would give it one star and I certainly won't come back.

First time coming here upon a friend's recommendation. It's a no frill restaurant. Just mostly traditional taiwanese home cooking. I tried the pork katsu with rice and popcorn chicken. The lightly breaded pork katsu was perfectly seasoned. I appreciate that it came with 2 veggie side dishes. The popcorn chicken was good but I wish it had more basil. All in all , a great value because of reasonable prices and delicious food. Will come back to try other dishes.

Yuck! Found a hair in my crispy chicken. Looks like it was deep fried, too.

You'd figure because there was only 1 group that the service would be attentive, but nope! The food that we ordered from the kitchen were all super fresh and delicious. My favorites were the bulgogi gimbap, eggroll (tiny rolled egg omelette), and chicken wings! They come out super hot - loved them all. The hot buffet bar was not filled at all, some were even just empty. I found it disappointing that we didn't get to try a lot of their items. The hot buffet bar was really scarce, I mean, just fried dumplings and fries but they were refilled really slow and some never had refills. The boba bar was empty and never filled. The DIY ramen station was closed off. I tipped only because I felt like I had to, but the service was abysmal. I would come back but maybe for lunch instead of dinner. Hopefully service improves.

I have passed by their restaurant many times, but it never occurred to me to go in until one day I was surprised to see them ranked in the top 100 ramen places nationally on Yelp! With less than 300 reviews, I was skeptical at first but was intrigued to give it a try, and I'm so glad that I did! I visited on a Friday afternoon right before New Year's and was greeted warmly by the staff inside. As I was indecisive on what to order in the ramen section, I asked the staff for suggestions. She was kind to walk me through the menu without rushing to get an order, and she mentioned that their most popular item is actually the beef noodles. That was all I needed to make a decision to try the beef noodles. While waiting for the food, I chatted with the staff and learned that the restaurant opened right before the pandemic then shifted their model to take-out only as the pandemic begin. Since then, they've tried to make use of their restaurant space to return to dine-in but it has been difficult to find reliable workers. In the interest of keeping the quality consistent and customers happy, they've decided to make sacrifices to keep the business model as is for take-out only instead of scaling up with additional staff, which is such a shame given the rent in the area is not cheap and they have such a beautiful space! When you hear "take-out only", I know what you're thinking, BUT I promise you this is the best takeout food you will ever have! The packaging is very well-designed to keep the flavors and ingredients at its finest! As I mentioned, I ordered the beef noodles, and typically noodle dishes are not ideal for takeout, but Asia Blue separates the soup from the noodles so that the noodles are not soggy, and even after half hour, the soup stayed warm and flavorful. The noodles also came paired with many mini side dishes as palate cleansers, which were a nice surprise. From my conversation with the staff, I've also learned that this is one of the rare places that truly make their broth fresh from premium ingredients! You can be sure that it's MSG free and packed with healthy nutrients, and that's a quality that you can taste. I highly recommend this place for your next ramen adventure, and I certainly will be returning again very soon to try the other menu items. :)

When you pickup your food, the sit down area is dark, and there isn't much of a waiting area. It looks to be run by two folks, the cook and the cashier. It is probably best to order over the app, as the one cashier is busy packing the food in the fancy packaging and dealing with the money transactions. Since it is only two people, it can be slow to get your food when it is busy. I waited an additional 20 mins from the projected time it was suppose to be done. As for the food, the miso ramen was packed in this fancy box. The box contained the soup separated from the noodles with a few side dishes. I believe this is the only vegi ramen they offer. It is nothing special. The broth is basically miso soup with soy sauce. (2 out of 5) The cold sesame noodles was better. It had more flavor. (4 out of 5) The Salt & Pepper Chicken was good (4.5 out of 5). I couldn't help eating it while in the car, as it smelled so good. The Braised Pork over rice was decent. It was cut up thick pork belly, braised in an Asian brown sauce. The flavoring was a little one sided. (3 out of 5). I'm giving this place an overall 3 stars because the food isn't something to rave about. Packaging and presentation were great, but tastes was more important to me.

For my lunch special (two rolls), I got the Texas Roll and the Rock N Roll. The Rock N Roll was decent - pretty standard shrimp tempura roll. I asked our server what was in the Texas Roll and I remember she had listed jalapeños as an ingredient. I know everyone does their rolls differently, but I feel like typically Texas Rolls are speciality rolls that include meat instead of seafood. Regardless of what they define as a Texas Roll, what I was served I can almost say with certainty that it was not a Texas Roll. It looked very basic - mostly just imitation crab and cucumber. I double checked with the server and asked if it indeed was the Texas Roll and she said it was. It's also has some good vegetarian options. First impression when you walk into this place...it's not your typical Chinese restaurant. The seats were these big comfortable chairs for the tables, and the booths looked to have comfortable looking benches. Plates had their logo on them. It just had a nice feel when you walk in. My family and I ordered five dish. Since we have one strict vegetarian (no fish) and others who eat meat, I'm going to break them down into a Veg and non-Veg group. Vegetarian - Stir Fried String Beans (5 stars) This is a simple dish, string beans stirred fried in a delicous sauce. - General Tso's Tofu (5 stars) When I think of General Tso's, I usually think of big battered fried chucks of a protein, instead this was your fried tofu (no batter from what I can tell) mixed with a spicy General Tso's sauce. General Tso's at other places in the area were a lot sweeter than this....and I liked the level of spice in this one. - Assorted Vegetables (5 stars) A simple classic healthy Chinese dish. Mixed vegetables in a white sauce. Non-Vegetarian - Salt and Pepper Fish (4 stars) Presentation of this dish looked nice. Pile high of fried fish with garlic, fried onions, green onions and other herbs. Although, it lacked a little flavor. You have to eat the fish with all the other stuff to get some flavor. If it had some more salt and pepper (either jalapenos or white peppers), this would had been a lot better dish. - Mango Chicken (5 stars) Surprising a very good dish. I expected a chicken dish with some mangos, and what we got was soft sliced chicken mixed with chunks of mangos, bell peppers and carrots, in a brown sauce. This was simply delicous dish. Overall, a great place to visit if you are in the area.
