Popcorn chicken
Justin K.

Great customer service and very friendly employees. The popcorn chicken dish was nice and crunchy. Tofu and veggies come with the dish for a more balanced dish. The soft texture of the tofu and crunchy texture of the broccoli are a good complement to the chicken. The only complaint is that the chicken and gravy on the tofu are too salty. Else this is a good dish.

Love coming here to fill my belly this restaurant is a mom and pop shop family own business. Always amazing food. Very friendly staff :) I got the dumpling, fried cuttlefish balls, milk tea with tapioca, and the Crispy chicken bites us a must.

This place has awesome Taiwanese dessert like shaved ice, sweet tofu soup and assorted teas. They also let you pick various toppings like jelly (aiyu, grass, almond etc.), red beans or fruit. I got a sweet tofu soup, a shaved ice and a ginger tea (hot) which was excellent. Also a lemon iced tea. Service was also very prompt - although I wished they brought the food out to you as opposed to you having to go up to the counter to get it (I think one dish was brought to me however). The interior is small but spacious enough to be comfortable - you can also watch whatever it is they are playing on the TV (at the time that movie about young Gru and the Minions). Recommended!

Coco's is a local favorite and serves some of the most authentic and affordable Taiwanese food in the Houston area! I've been coming here for as long as I can remember, so I wanted to give them a shoutout. They have an extensive menu which includes rice and noodle dishes, noodle soups, dumplings, tofu, milk tea/fruit smoothies, and shaved ice. Most of the dishes range between $7-$11 so it's a really good deal for the large portions that you get. Here's what I ordered: - Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken with rice plate (鹽酥雞飯) - Beef Noodle Soup (牛肉麵) - Shredded Pork and Pickled Cabbage Noodle Soup (雪菜肉絲麵) - Dried Tofu (豆腐乾) - Milk Tea with Tapioca Lowkey, family-run, great vibes, and always friendly service!

3 of us finished these in 15 minutes. I'm so stuffed.

Whaaa!!! I'm in tears. I am so happy that Coco's Cafe 可可餐飮 in Sugarland - the one-and-only Taiwanese restaurant still here after CoVid restaurant lockdown of 2020 and chaotic year of restrictions in 2021. My sister requested a special trip because she remembered the tastes when she visited 6 years ago. That was when I hosted Taste of Taiwan UYE and discovered Coco's Cafe has what we crave for. They removed stinky tofu from the menu due to a complaint from a group of customers walked out years ago. We chatted with the owner Mr. Wang. He said they stayed open during CoVid, simply because they didn't have anything else to do. That's a lot of restaurant owners said. It's either stay at home do nothing or come to work because of their passion in feeding hungry customers. They had trouble finding employees, just like any restaurants out there. So, your patience is required. From where I can tell, Mr. Wang will continue serving delicious Taiwanese food until the lease ends. You better hurry up before it's too late.

The egg/tofu appetizers plus their chili/soy sauce sauce is always a favorite of mine!! So simple but the flavors mix well together and the sauce isn't overly spicy and is pretty sweet. Pork Chop Rice is one of my favorites in houston. It did go up in price but is still under $10 pretax. The breading is pretty light and the pork chop is juicy. The side dishes are just ok compared to some of the other Taiwanese restaurants in houston but overall it's decent value for the amount of food you get.

Nutella crepe

Delicious! Their crepes are so spongy and yum. We had a savory ham crepe and a sweet Nutella and banana crepe. We also had lattes. Everything was delicious

- so much value for the quantity of food ($9 total!) - really yummy pork chop, broccoli, and egg - fast service - not much seating but still cute and cozy environment

I have never been disappointed every time I eat at this place. The food is really good. It's just a hole in the wall place with nothing much in terms of ambience. During lunchtime the place is packed what with only 10 tables. A lot of to go business. When you're craving Taiwanese cuisine this is the best place to go and eat

Do not wake me up before you Coco to Coco's Cafe, because it's just not my place. Ew. One of our worst experiences in Houston right down from the way that we were greeted with the most hostile, what the f are you doing in my place, kind of attitude, right down to the horrendous dumplings that tasted like they had been sitting in the warm sun for about 2 months and made me sick and I only had one. Everything about this place was disappointing and if it wasn't a family business I would give it one star and I certainly won't come back.

Pork Katsu with veggies.

First time coming here upon a friend's recommendation. It's a no frill restaurant. Just mostly traditional taiwanese home cooking. I tried the pork katsu with rice and popcorn chicken. The lightly breaded pork katsu was perfectly seasoned. I appreciate that it came with 2 veggie side dishes. The popcorn chicken was good but I wish it had more basil. All in all , a great value because of reasonable prices and delicious food. Will come back to try other dishes.

Yuck! Found a hair in my crispy chicken. Looks like it was deep fried, too.

I ordered the chocolate tapioca drink. The taste was ok, but I was disappointed with the texture. I wished it was creamier.

There is no billboard or web article acclaim - but when you step inside you are transported to warmth and love on 100. This place is no exception. Such a cozy feel, the baristas are so kind and accommodating, actually smiling - can you imagine that?! They genuinely take interest in you. Here is the set up. There are so many chairs and tables, it feels like you're in a massive well decorated living room. Ample space to spread out and work or study or read scripture. Speaking of reading scripture - if God made coffee on Day 6 it was because the two new humans made him exhausted. That's why he needed rest on Day 7 teeheehee. I had a matcha latte. It was wayyyy to sweet for me. Considering I do not have a single sweet tooth in my mouth and usually drink my matcha plain. They were kinda and gave me a coffee on the house with free refills. There are alot of pastries, I heard there were tacos, I will try those next time. Will I be back?... of course. This place was popping by 9 and I see why. They are doing something RIGHT!

I got there right at Saturday opening & a customer was already there studying/working. The brick wall and forest wall mural with indoor dim lighting gave a cool and chill cafe vibe. The employee was welcoming and friendly while I made my final order decision. I got the matcha latte with oat milk (vanilla syrup is used) & jalapeño sausage & cheese kolache. My friend got a Texas latte & sausage breakfast sandwich. My friend said the latte was energizing & the sandwich was perfectly filling. My matcha latte was little too sweet and creamy for me so I'll probably just need to make little adjustments for my preference next time like almond milk and less syrup. The kolache was a very good serving size and only wish I had a stronger jalapeño taste. We definitely need to come back for another visit soon!

I just wish it was a little bigger considering the price. It may make a lighter lunch or snack, but it really wasn't enough for dinner. I found the concept of choosing your own broth a bit exciting and a little daunting as well. Too many decisions; please don't add to my mental load. however they were really helpful at explaining what's what and even gave us a cup to sample the broths. We Liked the Dashi Shio and Tokyo Shoyu broths put together in the ramen with brisket. This is one of the very few places where I feel like you should drink most of the broth because it's that good and not overly salty. The kids got pho with noodles and dumplings (3) and the pho broth with a little bit of dashi shio broth. Neither of the kids ate much, so not sure if they didn't like it or they had too much snack earlier. They did gobble down the dumplings so those must have been good. The takoyaki was also pretty yummy and something I don't usually try. I got the peach honey oolong tea with popping lychee boba. I thought it was a little bit too sweet but that's partly my fault for not asking to customize it. I feel like my drink was good but nothing super special or unique. Overall, I really liked this place and I can see why people come in and just order the broth to go. Make your own noodles or dumplings at home and make it more filling. The broth is what shines here but it can be pricey if you're trying to get a whole meal in and not spend too much. I would end up buying a banh mi AND a soup AND a drink and spend like $25. I wish they had a lunch special or combo that has a half banh mi and half soup.

I settled for the second broth that I do not remember the name of at the moment although the pho broth was the second favorite for me. The brisket and dumplings were tasty AF. Udon noodles were good. And I love how they separated the topping from the broth for Togo orders so it was still good when I got home. Service was really good. The place is extra cozy and comfortable.

There isn't as much to do here as the other location where there is/was games & things to read as well as snacks. This location seemed clean & looks decent. This location is also close to some fun Asian hangs & grocery stores. However, I didn't enjoy the back & forth involved in having to get my drink order correctly. When placing the order, I asked for a frozen slushy/snow type drink & so did my daughter. Walking away, I noticed a price difference on the screen (the lady refused to give a receipt when we asked - and no one was getting a receipt which I thought was weird). When we got our order, we got different drinks. My daughter got the texture I wanted & I got an iced drink. It's fine I thought, communication issue I'm sure. But the lady at the counter argued with me as I explained that I wanted what my daughter had, that was what I tried to explain earlier (an issue that perhaps would've been prevented if I had a receipt). Eventually she agreed to make me a new drink & I apologized while thanking her profusely - but as I walked away, the two younger women in the back kept looking up & laughing very loudly. Just seriously mean behavior. I don't think I'll be returning. The drink sizes, large selection, pricing & location is more my style at Teapioca anyways.
