Ham and cheese done Cuban style

Just ok. I will say it smelled so clean when you walk in, you know they keep up with that end of the business. It's nothing fancy on the inside, but has a Cuban vibe. The menus are so outdated (and lots of typos) that we asked what the lunch specials were and we were told they haven't had those for a long time. Our food took a bit, but I'm ok with that so that I know it's freshly made, but it was disappointing. I'm no expert on Cuban food, but the roll seemed like a regular roll kind of pressed and just wasn't as good as another placed we loved. I couldn't finish and took it home to eat and the roll puffed back up. The fries were fantastic!

I stopped in this small Cuban restaurant on a Sunday evening around 7:30pm and didn't get my meal until almost 8:30pm. Although the service was very slow, the food was decent. The staff was pleasant and they worked very hard. Aside from the wait time, I enjoyed my meal and that's the most important part of eating out. I think this place is worth visiting.

So delicious ! We stopped in for lunch on Saturday and order some Cuban sandwiches. The restaurant is kind of hidden on Buford road in Cumming. I had a Cuban sandwhich with fries and I loved it. The Cuban was crunchy but yet so easy to eat. The food took longer than usual because it is cooked to order but I have no complaints considering it tasted phenomenal.

I was more than disappointed when I saw the Cuban dishes that I ordered for tonight's dinner. Understandable the economy is not the best these days... Nevertheless I felt robbed and taking advantage of,18.00 dollars per dish!!! The dishes included a small cup of rice, few small fried plantains and 2 tostones. I am tired of restaurants taking advantage and overcharging for meals that are not worth the value. I will never order from this restaurant again and I'll definitely not recommend this place to anyone. You are better off getting fast food!

Awesome Cuban food... Cuban sandwiches, Fried Yucca, Cuban black beans and Ham Croquettes!

It's ok mostly take out. The food wasn't very authentic true to Cuban style. It's just average.

I was scared that they also could have closed, so I tried to call, but there was a strange message saying no one is taking calls...not a voicemail, it was as if there was no service. We tried anyway, and they are in fact open, but she may run it by herself. The sandwich I wanted wasn't available because she didn't have the bread needed, so I tried "The Tampa" I don't like Swiss cheese, but I think that's the only cheese they have. It was stuffed with roast pork, but I guess I'm not a fan of the pork. The Cuban bread is amazing! My son got "Pollo Especial" and she told him it was the last one of the day (it was about 1:45 and they close at 10). He said it was excellent. He also got a virgin Pina colada and said it was very good. Maybe it too authentic for me? Overall, it's a cute place, not worth coming back for me, but my son really enjoyed it.

The Cuban sandwiches are the true stars, notably since the very limited menu has pretty much *that* as your selection. My favorite. Make one thing and make it good. I had the El Pollo Especial -- crispy, buttery bread enveloping a delightful combination of spicy chicken (a notch above mild, cheese, pickles, and an aioli sauce. It was a damn fine sandwich. To complement these delicious sandwiches, Cubanos ATL serves aromatic Cuban coffee. It's the perfect beverage to accompany your meal or enjoy on its own. I had an enjoyable brew of the Cafe Con Leche. Love it or hate it, Cubanos ATL is fast-casual. Service is friendly, regardless. I think it's going to be a pretty popular place to get your Cuban style toast and coffee or a lunch time break.

The MIAMI sandwich is not to be missed! I recommend getting extra pickles on it, for the extra cool, salty snap.

Ordering is simple; you can order at the counter or use one of the kiosks. Once your food is ready, they bring it directly to your table. I also appreciated the self-serve stations for sauces, water, utensils, and to-go boxes. I'm usually not the biggest fan of Cuban cuisine, but was in the area and decided to give it a try anyway. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything I ordered was better than expected. I went with the Combination Sampler, which is great if you want a little taste of everything. It came with a chicken empanada, papa rellena, fried yuca, ham croquettes, sweet plantains, and tostones. Overall, everything was prepared nicely. The only item I wasn't crazy about was the chicken empanada, which tasted a little plain and dry on its own. However, once paired with the sauces, it was much better. Speaking of sauces, they offer plenty of options at the sauce station. My favorite was the creamy cilantro sauce, which paired well with almost everything. They also had ketchup and mayo; perfect for dipping the crispy yuca fries. Along with a spicy sauce that definitely brought the heat. My go-to Cuban dish is usually a Cuban sandwich, but I didn't get a chance to try theirs this visit. Based on the rest of the meal, though, I'd definitely come back for it next time.

I was greeted with a smile and placed an order for an empanada combo. I tried beef, cheese and chicken empanadas. The beef was my favorite. But the others were delicious and my family loved them. Blairsville, Georgia~ Stopped in after reading the great…read morereviews. The owner was sweetly gruff! He told us he was from Cuba and raised in Miami. His wife and daughter are the cooks. The cafe is inviting although sparse. Chicky bowl had good flavor and the yellow rice really set off the flavor of the chicken. My lunch mate said it reminded her of a chicken cacciatore dish. Piggy bowl was really delicious with two different kinds of beans. The shredded pork was a nice blend of tart and crispy. Unfortunately the Cuban sammy left a lot to be desired. The bread was dry and hard, without any flavor. Yes it was "pressed " but we expected a sandwich with plenty of juicy meat and cheese hanging over the sides! Not so. Very little mayo or mustard to cut the dry bread, one pickle, and very little meat. (See photo) Three of us had the Cuban. All 3 of us agreed that this would not be something to recommend. One of my lunch mates had the schnitzel sandwich. The pork loin was breaded, dry and had no flavor. He also said he would not recommend this sammy. Overall, this would be a one and done for all of us. We are from Orlando and have some spectacular Cuban sandwich restaurants here. Lots of locals with great Cuban roots.

LOL Mambo's Cafe is located in Buford, Ga which is Northeast of Atlanta. When we entered the restaurant after our 5k, we were seated immediately and I will say Im glad we showed up when we did, because when we left people were everywhere waiting to be seated. So, Our waitress was amazing, she didnt miss a beat all the questions we had, she answered! We started off a complementary garlic bread with a Verde sauce. It was green with a pinch of spicy, but it was very good. Next, we ordered the beef empanadas and they cut them up for us so that everybody could sample them. They were so good. I had to get an order to go to take them home to my husband. For my drink, I ordered a pink lemonade. It was almost like I needed some sugar and I knew that would hit the eight spot even though it was carbonated it still was good. For the main train I went with ANGUS CHURRASCO STEAK!! Medium well of course! Wowwwwww!! This steak was top-tier. I enjoyed every bit of it, and what I could eat. Of course, I had to take the rest of them. It came with an option of beans I went with black beans plantains in a Spanish rice, which was amazing. The chimichurri sauce that came on the steak was was flavorful yeah, I even asked for some to take home and verde sauce as well. Lol The steak was tender outside skirt steak grilled and topped with our famous chimichurri sauce (garlic, fresh herbs and olive oil). $28 My entire bill with $58 including the takeout empanadas I will most definitely be going back. I enjoyed every minute of this restaurant.
