    Fish sandwich

Do not come here. There's no beach view. The food is poor. The cook is unsanitary. The rum runner was good. Proportions are small and you do not get any sides. Onion rings were overcooked. Fish was very small in the fish sandwich. To gain access, you have to pay five dollars for parking and they give you a five dollar coupon to use at the restaurant. The only access is the long boardwalk, which was fine.

This is my son's favorite place on the whole planet. All year he talks about how much he wishes he could have Coco's tenders. They're the standard that he holds all other tenders to. And so I guess his affection for the place has rubbed off on me. We stay at the same resort every summer just so we can have easy access to Coco's. We eat here multiple times during our stay. Sometimes the line and wait for food can be incredibly long, but it's a small bar with a small kitchen there's literally only so much they can do when there's twenty plus people waiting for their orders. Memorial Day weekend is a mad house, most of the other days we're there is pretty chill. We've always been able to find a seat, with the lovely view and a nice beach breeze I've never minded waiting around for food. I've tried a few burgers, lots of the apps and they always come out hot and delicious. I really like getting the pina colada smoothie as well. They take Apple Pay so I don't have to worry about bringing my wallet or cash to the beach. This is a really special place of us, and I look forward to all the summers to come sitting with my drink after a long afternoon of swimming. Coco's, if you're reading this, we humbly ask for shirts in kid sizes next year

Walked along the beach to tour the beachside bars, and this was our first stop. Had the Captain Colada - perfect texture for a piña colada and unlike most, it tasted like there was alcohol. It's tucked in a little from the beach, and has a volleyball court, if you're feeling up for a game.

Nice spot. Low key and conveniently located by the beach. They have an extensive bar and some reasonably priced items that made my kids happy. It has hippie vibes and the service depends on the persons mood. Good for the most part with some meh days. What I liked: kids ice cream options. French fries and juices. I haven't tried any of their other drinks. The location and decor are artistic and inviting. What I didn't like: no coffee and few gluten free options. Side note: they offer a cash discount. The discounted price is what is listed on the menu (so I wasn't sure how it's a 'discount'). There is a service fee for using credit cards. No Amex.

Only had drinks but giving Coco's five stars due to reasonable drink prices and beach ambiance. It was a fun place right off Singleton Beach.

Coco's is situation just next to the neighborhood where we stayed during our annual family beach vacation on HHI. They stay open until 10 a.m. and have an assortment of wonderful cocktails. I had the Lynchburg Lemonade last night and cannot wait to try others before we leave. It's a great, casual, beach-side cantina and also has an assortment of food items. It's a great way to unwind at the end of a wonderful day on the beach.

Very nice, very islandi-ie. unless your coming from the beach your looking at a half mile walk each way to get here from the mainland. Drinks were excellent and my burger was rather tasty. Good spot to hang out. Seats are limited

Amazing gem off the beach. Full atmosphere and passed the vibe test. Great food and service. Check out the bread used for their sandwiches - wow! Tried a fried baloney sandwich for the first time - who'd a thunk it? 2 thumbs up!

Starting with the burger, I like when a smash burger is ACTUALLY a smash burger. They include cheese and pickles on it and it was just the perfect burger. I think it's pretty high on my burger rankings. Might even beat Heavy's! I feel like it's rare to get waffle fries unless you're going to Chick Fil A, so it was nice to have them with our burger. We got a bag to share and there was plenty. They were salted and seasoned to perfection and perfectly crispy. We sat outside where they have a full bar, a TV for sports, and they had live music.

This is genuinely one of the best burgers around. The waffle fries deserve a special mention: fresh, nicely done, and you get a generous portion. Think Chick-fil-A fries, but the way they should be. The Truffle Fries are solid too -- just a bit rich for my taste, but that's purely personal preference. I also tried the Sweet & Spicy Chicken -- good and flavorful, though slightly heavy on the batter for me. Still worth a try. A Couple of Suggestions: A lower-carb side option would be a welcome addition -- I asked and it was a hard no. Hopefully Tin and Tallow considers adding some healthier alternatives down the road. Breakfast -- Proceed with Caution: The croissant with egg and cheese was, unfortunately, a miss for me. The egg and cheese were fine, but buttering an already butter-heavy croissant and griddling it turned it into a flat, gooey mess. I hear there's a biscuit option, which might be better -- but personally, I'd love to see an English muffin or bagel on the menu. Something with a little more structure would go a long way. Bottom Line: Come for the burgers and fries -- you won't be disappointed. Just maybe skip the croissant breakfast for now.

My friend had the short rib lasagne ($26). My meal was absolutely perfect, everything seasoned/flavored perfectly. My friend's dish looked a little heavy for me but she loved it, also. We chose a nice wine, I Googled it: Banfi Belnero is a premium Super Tuscan IGT wine from Castello Banfi in Montalcino, primarily crafted from Sangiovese blended with international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. It features a deep ruby color with notes of black cherry, plum, spice, and vanilla, offering a full-bodied, structured palate with balanced tannins. Enjoyed 2 glasses of it ($32)! We split the chocolate Pot de Creme ($10) for dessert, so good. The restaurant was crowded, as we went a dinner time. Were lucky to get a table, in the bar area, near the window. Our server was running by and I didn't mind at all calling out to him, as he didn't check on us as much as the table to next to us, who were regulars. Once they left, he honored us with his presence, actually lingered to explain the quality of the wine we chose. I enjoyed this visit, although I am spoiled on getting much better service in Dallas, but every time I visit the islands, I try to remember to focus on the food, company and atmosphere.

It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.
