When visiting Hilton Head Island, be sure to stop at Coco's On The Beach Bar & Grill for food and drinks. The best way to get to Coco's is by walking on the beach, riding bike, or by parking at the Hilton Head Resort. We decided walk, but if you decide to park at Hilton Resort and let resort attendant know you're going to Coco's and they'll give you $5 coupon for a drink. The restaurant has a volleyball court and the long line moves quickly when ordering food or drinks. We ordered the Black and Blue burger, Buffalo and BBQ chicken wings. Very conveniently located right off the boardwalk to beach. Menu isn't anything special, but it's fast and casual. My daughter is a picky eater and loved the French fries, so that's a win! Service was great. We went at a peak time and my daughter was antsy - she kept asking the bartender when her food would be out. Do not come here. There's no beach view. The food is poor. The cook is unsanitary. The rum runner was good. Proportions are small and you do not get any sides. Onion rings were overcooked. Fish was very small in the fish sandwich. To gain access, you have to pay five dollars for parking and they give you a five dollar coupon to use at the restaurant. This is my son's favorite place on the whole planet. All year he talks about how much he wishes he could have Coco's tenders. They're the standard that he holds all other tenders to. And so I guess his affection for the place has rubbed off on me. We stay at the same resort every summer just so we can have easy access to Coco's. We eat here multiple times during our stay. Sometimes the line and wait for food can be incredibly long, but it's a small bar with a small kitchen there's literally only so much they can do when there's twenty plus people waiting for their orders. Memorial Day weekend is a mad house, most of the other days we're there is pretty chill. We've always been able to find a seat, with the lovely view and a nice beach breeze I've never minded waiting around for food. I've tried a few burgers, lots of the apps and they always come out hot and delicious. I really like getting the pina colada smoothie as well. They take Apple Pay so I don't have to worry about bringing my wallet or cash to the beach. This is a really special place of us, and I look forward to all the summers to come sitting with my drink after a long afternoon of swimming. Walked along the beach to tour the beachside bars, and this was our first stop. Had the Captain Colada - perfect texture for a piña colada and unlike most, it tasted like there was alcohol. It's tucked in a little from the beach, and has a volleyball court, if you're feeling up for a game. read more

After days of cold and overcast skies, we ventured out on our last day on the island with the sun out and warmer temps. We came across Cocos by accident as we walked on the beach. Glad we did. It has hippie vibes and the service depends on the persons mood. Good for the most part with some meh days. What I liked: kids ice cream options. French fries and juices. I haven't tried any of their other drinks. The location and decor are artistic and inviting. What I didn't like: no coffee and few gluten free options. Side note: they offer a cash discount. They had a problem opening in '26 and are struggling to get on their feet. Been there 4 times in the last week. only got a drink twice and never got to have food as the kitchen was not open. Saturday 4/25/26 we arrived at 11 am. We stood there until almost 11:30 and left unserved. They had two staff there but were dealing with a food delivery and just did not open or even acknowledge the 20 people waiting to be served. The food menu has become hot dogs, chicken fingers and a fried cod sandwich. They used to have one of the best burger choices in HH. So be aware, it's such a cool location and the owner is killing a place that should print profit. read more

This was a great place up till now. None of the former longtime employees are there anymore. The owner passed, and his daughter is trying to re-invent the wheel, unfortunately. The food is just average at best, with a limited menu. If there is no cook working, the bartenders will offer you only fried foods. The owner has a real attitude problem and acts like she is doing you a favor selling you average food and overpriced drinks! read more

Complete false advertisement & a scam. The menu listed drinks at $5. They then proceeded to charge us $10-12 for each drink. In addition, they did not give us a receipt for these drinks. Coco's is situation just next to the neighborhood where we stayed during our annual family beach vacation on HHI. They stay open until 10 a.m. and have an assortment of wonderful cocktails. I had the Lynchburg Lemonade last night and cannot wait to try others before we leave. It's a great, casual, beach-side cantina and also has an assortment of food items. We come to Hilton Head every summer with our timeshare and we never miss Coco's on the beach it would not be Hilton Head if we didn't stop at least one night at Coco's of course it ends up being every night we go to Coco's because their food is so good you can get a new meal everyday and their drinks are incredible they're so strong they still put 2 oz that's two shots in every drink I'm not used to the good old days nobody does that anymore except them. The owner Larry great guy very friendly wish you was there more The staff is so professional it's great for people of all ages they have a volleyball court and the coolest thing is that they have a live camera so you can call your friends back home and they just go on Coco's website and you can wave to them we do that every year so I highly recommend Coco's on the beach read more

Service was terrible we couldn't find our way in either- tried calling and got no answer. Eventually found a cut through to the beach and made it to Coco's by 6:30 and by then they said their kitchen is closed meanwhile they close at 8pm. The bartender was very rude when we asked if we could purchase chips of anything because we were hungry after walking far to get to the place. When asking how to leave and best way out they acted like they were too busy to help meanwhile no one else was at the bar counter. Would not recommend at all. read more

We had a couple hours wait until our parasailing so we decided to look online for a tiki bar to get some good drinks and food by the beach to relax by. We saw cocos pop up and decided to head there. The gps took us to this private residential area but we soon found out we couldn't park there or at cocos at all. We saw a long walking bridge/path from the distance that looked like it went to cocos, so we found parking about 1/2 mile down the road in the parking lot. Someone tells us we can not use that bridge because it's in the other private housing location. So we had to walk down the road toward the beach, through the private housing, onto the beach, up and around the housing area, and than finally down to cocos. It was 90 degrees out and the sand was hot so my feet were not happy. We get to cocos and the line is SO LONG! they have 1 person taking orders at the window and 1 person as bartender/chef. When we finally do get the food, it was mediocre at best. The boom boom shrimp barely had any BOOM BOOM to it and the mozzarella sticks are just, basic. (You can't really mess up mozzarella sticks). The pina colada was good, and was definitely a full cup! But, it was just basic. Nothing special about it. The view is of private housing that you can't even use, and it's just so hot out there you don't even want to look into the sun at the beach. It took us more time to figure out how to get there, park, walk, and wait in line than we even spent sitting there. Overall experience: if you're not already at that beach, it's not worth it. WE GAVE UP! Upon entry into the resort, a non-guest is charged $5 at the gate, which you get earn back with a purchase at the bar. It's a nice half mile walk across the marsh to get to Coco's. Upon arrival... the place was "SWAMPED" with beach goers as Coco's is a small establishment and is the only beach bar around. Unfortunately, there were only 2 bar tenders (who seemed to have one speed) and 1 of whom seemed more interested in her phone... the lines were long, as were the wait times to get a drink or food. Note: there was no server for the tables either, so if you wanted food you had to stand online as well. That goes for sitting at the small bar too. After 20 minutes of virtually no movement ...we surrendered and hiked backed to our car. read more

Coco's was everything I needed in a beachside spot. I really enjoyed my grilled chicken sandwich which was well seasoned and juicy, the hot dogs looked really fun, and all the drinks were very refreshing. Everyone in my group enjoyed their food and only had good things to say. Service was quick even though it was pretty busy, and we got a table and enjoyed our food in the shade overlooking the marsh. The food was also very reasonably priced which is hard to find in beach side spots! Delicious, affordable food and cold, strong drinks....what more could you ask for! read more

FLAVOR TOWNNNNN. this place was so crazy. Went to Hilton Head and the first place we went was here. We had to pay 5 dollars for parking; however, cocos immediately puts 5 dollars on your tab to pay it back to you. WHAT OTHER PLACE DOES THAT!!!??? no where. I love it here. Had lunch at Coco's during our latest stay in Hilton Head. Not the easiest place to get to from the road. We were on bikes, so we just ignored the security lady as we rode back into Hilton Head Resort where Coco's is located. Not a large place, so get there early or be prepared to wait a few minutes. We all had burgers. They had several to choose from. We really enjoyed them. Only downside was that my beer was not very cold. I don't understand how a bar on the beach doesn't serve ice cold beer. You know you are in trouble when the first drink is just slightly cold. It warms up fast in 90 degree heat. We will come here again, but next time I will get a frozen drink or something on the rocks. read more
