They will be at 1025 Prospect St., Suite 210. I'm not sure when, though. Their Facebook site says "see you in the Spring" but no specific date. I walked by the new location today, and it's not ready yet.

I ordered a mojito which was so good and refreshing, and ordered the crab cakes which were also very good. They had an amazing meyer lemon remoulade sauce and pickled seaweed on the side which was amazing. My friend and I split the rocket salad with beets and goat cheese, and it was good as well. The food a little slower. I got the farmer's omelet with bacon. My husband got the coconut French Toast, my mother-in-law got the burger with avocado but no sauce or buns. My son got the eggs benedict, and my daughter got the burger with no pickles or sauce. I really enjoyed my omelet. It had kale, pepper, mushrooms, cheese, avocado and I asked for bacon which they cooked into the omelet. It was soft, fluffy, and well seasoned. The only disappointment was the home fries were not crispy. My daughter thought her burger was only ok and her fries were not very crunchy. My son liked his eggs benedict. The eggs were perfectly runny. My husband liked his French Toast. My mother-in-law liked her burger but she asked for no bun. However, there was a bun which is why we didn't recognize the order at first. She just removed the bun. We enjoyed the meal with great views.

Chef Maeve Rochford, the owner of Sugar & Scribe won Season 2 of Food Network's Holiday Baking Championship. She is also known for competing on Food Network's Beat Bobby Flay and Kids Baking Championship. We recommend trying the following: *Butter Poached Lobster Benedict with Poached eggs, Maine Lobster, Arugula, Parsley hollandaise with side of potatoes and bacon. *Blueberry Love Pancakes with blueberry compote, snow sugar and white chocolate mousse. Both orders were excellent 5/5 stars. I tried the Horchata Latte but couldn't really taste the horchata and wasn't sweet enough for me. I wouldn't order this latte again, but maybe y'all would enjoy the flavor better. The restaurant has outdoor seating with heating lamps and welcomes well behaved dogs in their outdoor patio. It wasn't a major issue for me, but it could be inconvenient for anyone with mobility, knee, or walking limitations. Overall, I'd still go back. While my initial impression was probably closer to a 3.5/5, the beautiful setting and reports of improved service make it a solid 4/5 and worth another visit.

I knew something named after me had to be pretty good... but for some reason, despite taking pictures in front of it (yea I'm that cool), I've walked by this place for the past 5 years without ever eating at it. Part of it is probably because of the limited hours Cody's is open, only serving breakfast and lunch for 2/3 of the year. Finally last weekend I dragged a friend out for brunch and got to experience it first hand. First of all, the atmosphere is perfect. A beautiful ocean view with the cove being 2 blocks away is pretty nice. The plentiful outdoor seating makes it even better. The hostess was extremely friendly as well, talking to everyone waiting for a table and even sharing her fear of bees with me after seeing me run like a little girl when one flew in my direction. Now for the food-- I ordered what I thought would be an ordinary chicken sandwich but was greeted with something pretty amazing. Fresh grilled chicken was placed on a mouth-watering soft foccacia with avocado, bacon, cheese and some fresh veggies. In addition, all of this was piled on top of steaming hot hand-cut french fries. Mmmm I want to eat it again right now. My friend got a seafood salad that, although looking pretty small, ended up being very tasty and filling. For dessert we shared the red velvet cake which was pretty big and topped with some of the most creamy delicious frosting I've had in quite a while. I was very satisfied. The only thing that makes me deduct a star is that the place is a little pricey. I understand they have to pay rent at such a beautiful location and it costs more for quality ingredients, but if I hadn't had a gift certificate I would probably be eating top ramen for the rest of the week. Cody's in La Jolla promised a seaside view, but unfortunately, it was mostly obscured by surrounding buildings. Stepping inside, we were greeted by an ambiance that can only be described as a throwback to 1980s Miami. While interesting, it wasn't quite the charming seaside atmosphere we expected. The food was decent, but definitely overpriced. My French toast was unfortunately saddled with artificial-tasting syrup, which was a disappointment. My wife's surf and turf eggs Benedict was better, but still nothing remarkable. Our biggest issue was with the service. While our server was friendly, they offered side dishes without clearly stating they cost extra. This led to the mistaken impression that they were included, like at a diner. To their credit, the restaurant removed the charges when we questioned the bill, but it created an awkward situation. On a positive note, the coffee was excellent. Overall, Cody's La Jolla was a mixed experience. While the coffee was great and the staff ultimately accommodating, the obscured view, dated ambiance, average food, and pricing, combined with the confusion over the side dishes, left us feeling underwhelmed. read more

Wow, I can't believe I've been in San Diego for almost four years and just stumbled upon Cody's in La Jolla! It was a lucky find while wandering around La Jolla after work on a Friday. What caught our attention was their daily happy hour from 4pm to 7pm (closing hour), so we decided to check it out. We were seated on their patio, which offered stunning ocean views, and to our delight, Elizabeth Bowersox was performing live that day. It created such a perfect ambiance, and we thoroughly enjoyed her music. Originally, we planned to just grab a few drinks before heading out for dinner, but we found ourselves so comfortable and relaxed that we ended up having an early dinner right there. We ordered some oysters, fish tacos, and the mini lobster rolls, which turned out to be the highlight of our meal! The bread was incredibly soft, and the lobster filling was just divine. It was honestly one of the most delicious things we've tasted. We're definitely planning to come back, and hopefully, we'll get to enjoy Elizabeth's music again next time. As one of my favorite brunch spots in all of San Diego, there are many things to like about Cody's from the unconditionally arranged (yet quite tasty) menu items to the gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean less than a block away. Although I usually go for the classic Eggs Benedict, I went for the healthy breakfast salad this time, which was excellent in both freshness and presentation. My friend's raved about the French toast while I thoroughly enjoyed the smoothness of my Americano. Yet, there are some things I wish were different. On this most recent winter visit, there was no heating and the doors were wide open. Other patrons were there tightly bundled in layers as the cold air rushed in--perhaps this is why I so enjoyed my Americano. It was pretty clear that everyone was cold, so why they didn't do anything about it was disconcerting. But this was an exception out of all of my other largely favorable visits. This place...probably has the best french toast I've had ever had at a restaurant. I came with my family and we shared 4 dishes, all of which were superb. Be warned though, Cody's is super popular. We came early but when we left there was a really long line. The four of us shared the brioche french toast, crab cake benedict, an omelette and also the fish and chips. Really the portions are not too big, but its enough to satisfy a hungry stomach and taste buds. The french toast was super fluffy, really just orgasmic. The crab cake benedict was expensive and not a lot of food, but that was a disappointing. Taste wise though it was great. The fish and chips are also great to share. We had brunch at Cody's La Jolla and had a great experience with its charming ambiance and diverse menu offerings. Despite not having any reservations, we were able to sit in their patio area since the weather was beautiful that day. For drinks, we ordered a couple of their famous ones but what stood out the most was the espresso martini. For our main course, we ordered the french toast, lobster roll, and biscuits and gravy platter and they all complimented each other. The highlight was definitely the lobster roll and we really enjoyed the flavor of it. The portions were generous and presented nicely when it was served. Food is delicious!! I really wanted to give them a perfect, 5 star rating but their hostess sucks! My husband and I walk up to the restaurant and we are "greeted" by this girl with food in her mouth(wish I was kidding) and with a "for how many?" Instead of a "Hello, welcome!". I almost turned around and walked down the street to The Cottage but I decided to not let her attitude keep me from trying this place. I was really hungry from walking all day at the beach and shops so we decided to go in here. It took forever to get seated which I understand it was busy. Our food came out and it was overly greasy and way to much cheese in my soup I couldn't taste anything except cheese. I don't know if they over butter or over oil everything, but I'm not used to just fat and oil dripping from my food it was quite heavy for my liking. I ended up dabbing everything with a napkin and gave half of it to my friend who likes cheese. One more thing I don't like burnt over cooked pancakes. read more

After searching for hours for a place that serves late breakfast ,for people such as I who do not get up at crack of dawn, we came upon Cody's =] good thing I didn't give into my stomachs grumbling and stopped by starbucks as i had planned, if my last attempt at finding breakfast failed. My husband and I found this gem on our honeymoon 2 years ago. We were so impressed with the food quality and the prices! YUM!! We ended up moving to orange county last year, so EVERY TIME we go to San Diego we make sure to stop here! Love the burgers, fish and chips and breakfast is always yummy too! Because the food is so good, there is always a wait. Which is okay with us. It doesn't usually take THAT long. 5-20 mins. Depending. But a restaurant a wait is always a good sign they have good food! 5 star all day! read more

This place has the BEST french toast! I literally devoured my plate and took my wife's plate and ate hers! You will go crazy for this stuff! Seriously if you come here and don't order the french toast you are committing a serious crime. I will personally come kick your butt if you don't order it! Its that good! My husband and I brought our toddler here for breakfast. The food was great, but I think the server forgot to bring my little one's pancake, so he's was being a typical toddler and getting adventurous. His pancake finally came and he scarfed it down. We asked to pay our bill so we could leave an not disturb the other diners ... and our check had been paid for us by another guest. Very very sweet, we didn't expect that at all. My friend recommended this place and i thanked her for the tip after eating here. I had the best and biggest lobster roll I've had in years. My son, the pickiest eater on the planet, said that the French Toast was the best he'd ever had. The view is great. I looked out at the ocean the whole time i was there. The line is long. The bathrooms are poor, that's the only negative. Brunch for 3 was $67, including tip. Only one person had any beverage. read more

We came here for lunch and got sandwiches. It was really really good. The flavors were bold and flavorful. Service was great and fast. However, it might be slightly overpriced for lunch. We paid $95.00 for 3 sandwiches, 1 fish taco meal, 2 appetizers, and 4 soft drinks. I would expect prices like this at fancier restaurants for dinner, not lunch. Besides that, I highly recommended this place especially if you would like to grab a quick bite. read more

Cozy, fabulous treat on a Sunday Morning with the AM sun breaking through.. Perfect parking spot near the park 1 block away. Our table invited the Corn and Crab Chowder in a Bread bowl and shared the BLT with added avocado and baratta cheese.. Sangria and a Peach Ginger bubbly set the morning off as a perfect brunch.. went there today and everything was GREAT. not only is the location AAAAmazing... but the food and service is 5 starts too! i got the sausage omelette and my wife got the french toast. we both could have gotten another french toast and ate it up cause it was SOOOO good. Hostess was very helpful and server was sweet and very accommodating! It didnt hurt that we had the best seat in the house! cant wait to go back! read more

We recently visited Cody's La Jolla and had a wonderful experience. The French toast was light and fluffy with a perfect sweetness, the burger was just alright but the fries that came with it were fresh and delicious, and finally the crab cake was fresh and well-seasoned. The coastal ambiance was charming, and the service was friendly. Overall, a delightful meal in a great setting. We'll definitely return! read more
