How I heard of this place: A couple of years ago, my sister, a resident of Bellingham mentioned this new spot that opened up. Great ambiance, great coffee, great service. I had forgotten about it until this morning when we wanted to go out for coffee and found their new location! Type of cuisine: Colombian arepas, sandwiches, pastries and coffee. Ambiance: An amazing, beautiful, warm and vibrant spot in the center of downtown Bellingham. The beauty of the hanging crate planters, cascading with twinkle lights, coffee burplap sack decor, dark woods and bright colors mingled with Colombian beats create a space that you don't want to leave. Beverages are made with handcrafted quality and thoughtfulness. Sandwiches beautifully prepared and served warm. We loved the additional feature of a little "pop-up" shop at the back, with handcrafted clothing, jewelry, as well as shoes and bags. What I ordered: A Cappuccino Gold for me: the perfect balance of SPECIAL COLOMBIAN espresso with steamed milk and foam. Covered with local honey and almond powder. The Sudmarine for my husband: the perfect balance of SPECIAL COLOMBIAN espresso with steamed milk and foam. Covered with whipped cream and a bar (row) of (Hershey's) chocolate. Each of our kids selected Italian Sodas, one mango and one strawberry. My sister, excited about the smooth pull of espresso, selected an Americano. We also ordered two sandwiches: Medellin: Artisan FOCCACIA bread with BBQ PULLED PORK, provolone cheese, onion, red pepper, lettuce and our COLOMBIAN sauce. (We substituted arepa instead of foccacia at the recommendation of the server.) And the Vegan: arepas surrounding Avocado, tomato, onion, red Pepper, lettuce and pesto sauce. What I loved: The pulled pork sandwich. By far one of the best sandwiches we have ever had. I rarely enjoy pork, and would order this over and over again. I also loved the slightly sweet, but perfectly smooth cappuccino gold, and it's "spider web" decoration complete with "coffee bean spider" atop. We went out for coffee at COF& on a chilly, rainy Saturday morning. The pasties and muffins in the showcase did not appeal to me so we just had coffee. I had a vanilla latte, , and my partner had an oat milk latte. The coffee shop was cold due to both doors being wide open to enable local merchants to set up their offerings for the day. I tried to read but the music was up far too loud and was not conducive for reading. My coffee, however, was outstanding and served very hot, which was appreciated due to the cafe being far too cold to relax. The chairs are extremely uncomfortable and there was nowhere comfortable to sit to enjoy the wonderful coffee and my book. The service was good, our coffee came out fast. Easy parking on a rainy Saturday morning. I appreciate the shade green coffee, and the stage which shows the cafe supports live music. I just didn't care for the atmosphere, seating, and noise level. The bathroom was very clean. I'd take my coffee to go if I COF& in the future.

I got the cappuccino gold and it was just okay. The drink wasn't hot and I barely tasted any of coffee. I also liked the taste of the almond powder but it was pretty grainy in my drink. Genuine excellent experience. Gorgeous cafe with a true relaxed vibe. I asked for a couple of recommendations and received them and I am so thankful that I asked! Wow this spot was terrific! Stopped in shortly before close and the service was fantastic. The gentleman working was super upbeat and kind and took care of me in a flash. I went with the Vanilla Latte (iced) which had a bold and delicious flavor. As a snack, I love a good cream cheese danish and this one killed it. Warmed up it nearly melted in my mouth and the danish itself was perfectly flakey, soft, and sweet. Highly recommend!!! Look how cute the interior is! The decor will transplant you somewhere tropical. Go with it.

COF& is a gem of a coffee house located in the heart of Bellingham. They feature fresh roasted coffee and offer a variety of brewing methods (Espresso Pour Over, Japanese Siphon, Chemex, Aeropress and French Press) not found in most other coffee shops. It has high ceilings, natural light and a spacious vibe. COF& has an enticing food menu as well and I look forward to trying their empanadas! Stay tuned

What a cool vibe Cof& brings to downtown Bellingham. Bhamsters if you are burnt out of the local coffee chain (ie Woods or Starbucks) there's a new coffee shop you need to try. This is Cof& second location in Bellingham, the other one is off Kentucky. So what makes Cof& special? Besides the fact that the use of "&" instead of spelling out "coffee?" Most of the staff there like Caroline and Oscar, the owner, speak limited English (so its a good place to brush up and practice your Spanish.) The staff will tell you Cof&'s beans are special because they are cultivated under shade in native forests. They use a system based on a perfect balance between the shade system and the sowing system. This collection and roasting process results in a simple, flavorful, and rich coffee. Their coffee beans, which are harvested in Colombia, all score over 80 points by the Specialty Coffee Association. Any beans over 80 are considered "special" Jampiere informed me. You can see the scores on the back of each of their coffee bean bags if you purchase one to take home. The coffee shop is cheerful and bright furnished with yellow, wooden tables and chairs and as gives off an artsy feel as various art pieces hang on the walls. Definitely a place to lounge and enjoy a good cup of coffee by yourself or with a friend. What a nice addition to our downtown.

Came here back in April with my cousin. The ambiance was pretty neat. Loved the stage area, the decor, and it was very spacious. The danish we ordered was delicious and the coffee was also very good. In addition, the service was above and beyond. The barista came from behind the counter to give us our drinks and food once they were ready. He was patient and even made some recommendations since it was our first time there. Would definitely go back again. read more

A super cute cafe right in the heart of downtown Bellingham with excellent tasting coffee. This business opened just four days ago. It is all authentic Columbian and upbeat, fun and tastefully funky. Even the friendly barista is from Columbia and offered suggestions and information on Cof&'s selection of coffees and sandwiches and treats. I tried his recommendation of the "Arepas" which made for a delightful brunch sandwich and an original Columbian coffee he mixed to my specific taste! Such a unique addition to the Bellingham coffee scene, but I will say Cofywa is one of the most unique. Colombian coffee, beautiful artistic creations and a welcomed change from your typical cafe. Amazing coffee shop. The owner, from Columbia, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable on all things coffee. He also has homemade Columbian pastries and meat pies (both sweet and savory). They take great pride in making a good cup of coffee here. The baristas are friendly and will answer any questions you have. 100% a different vibe than most of the brick, galvanized steel, wood stool -- type coffee places around Bellingham. I would recommend this place wholeheartedly. read more

What a lovely place to meet a friend and sit, & visit! My friend is a regular customer, & had the guava pastry. She said she asked the barista to recommend a different coffee beverage to try, & was pleased with the choice. I requested cold-brew with cream, which was tasty. I took ho.e empanadas and the guava pastry to share with my partner. We were both delighted with the pastry, the vegan filling as well as the chicken, & we have become enthusiastic fans of Colombian pastries & coffee! read more

My wife and I visited both locations, Kentucky St. and on Cornwall. We were favorably impressed with the excellent quality, service, decor and general atmosphere. Talk to the owner, Oscar, at the Cornwall location to get the entire field of information on the roasting, quality, sourcing and support of small businesses. Being from Panama ourselves, we are now interested in visiting Bucharamanga in Colombia, the source of the prize-winning and expert-rated coffee beans. No reservations for giving all five stars. Worst service of any little dumpy coffee joint in town. Ordered an iced mocha...not the schematic diagram to the enterprise. After 15 minutes outside I went to check on it. Bro is making a sandwich and the 2 ladies who walked in after me are sipping coffee. I asked how long and he says a couple people are ahead of me! I looked around speechless. Who? My name is Oscar I’m from Colombia. I moved with my family to USA on February 2021. During 2021 I was checking how to show to BELLINGHAM the best of my country “coffee”. I started trying to sell the coffee beans to local coffeeshops, but it didn’t work. Nobody knows me and my English wasn’t good. Then I have the idea of sell my coffee beans in local farmers markets where I prepared some coffee drinks to the people can taste my coffee. People like it, I have the idea to sell drinks. In October 2021, I found a place available that used to be a food colombian business. I start to work in the place and some months later, On December 2021 I opened COF&.

The bioluminescence drink is very aesthetic and drinks like a soda / energy drink, though it is a one and done for me as I don't feel the sparkles are the most healthy thing. The toasty marshmallow latte was a bit pricy at $7.50 but they had 3 pieces of toasted marshmallow that is perfect (s'mores like but not burnt) and there is a lot of drink. It was on the sweeter side for me. They have Cinnamon Toast Crunch on the side but it was a bit stale, but I won't be docking off a star as there's not much to it and everything else was delicious. We opted to dine in for the aesthetics and I'd recommend doing so as there's higher price point doesn't seem as worthwhile if you take these drinks to-go

But the BLT was not served on focaccia, instead a standard bread. Yet we received no heads up. Again, it was great but why was there no disclaimer? Definitely would not have ordered it had there been transparency because it doesn't feel worth it. Drinks: standard cocktails but really good. Definitely worth a try. Service: they were pretty packed but everyone that tended to us was really sweet. Ambiance: very standard Bellingham small shop vibe.

We simply had to give it a try. And continue coming back. Type of cuisine: Turkish fare - from simit and borek, to cardamom or pistachio infused Turkish coffee, apricot and apple teas, baklava and lokum. We have always loved the foods, mostly imported directly from Turkey. Ambiance: Sweet and cozy, the space is full of beautiful Turkish art/craft - from lighting to seating, from merchandise to the tasty treats served, we love our bay window benches and small, tiled tables that barely hold everything we order. The brother-owners are always wreathed in smiles and humble, grateful service. The music is soft, but always a surprise - sometimes Turkish, sometimes rock, sometimes jazzy, always fun and unobtrusive. We also love the huge barrel "tables" used as outdoor seating under a covered "patio". What I ordered: I was sad to hear that they no longer make/serve their refreshing and lovely apricot tea, so I chose a sweet cardamom coffee. My sister each chose a turkish coffee and pistachio coffee. A hot chocolate for my husband and two apple teas for the children. We ordered one of each selection of baklava available - pistachio, walnut, chocolate pistachio, halva and another walnut treat. Not to mention peach and blackberry lokum. We also ordered a potato & cheese sandwich; they ran out of the bread so substituted potato borek topped with cheese for our savory snack. What I loved: Always the service; quiet, humble, spot on. The coffee is truly magnificent and fully takes you back to Turkey. The baklava is sweet and soaked in honey, just like the cafes in Istanbul, and the beautiful lighting mesmerizes each of us every time. Workers are always friendly and happy to talk about cats and are always cleaning and helping facilitate adoptions. Between each 45 minute session, they clean everything-- I've had a friend with mild cat allergy go and not be too affected. I've gone a few times for the long 3 hour sessions and had an absolute blast getting things done (if you sit still, the curious cats will approach you and sit in your lap while you work!) Food is all prepackaged and ordered in bottles in addition to the entry for a 45 minute stay. Place is lovely and well-lit and a great way to get some time with some adorable kitties!
