I never write reviews on here but I had a not so great experience here. I just wanted my coffee, but it took almost 15 minutes for me to put my order in with one person in front of me in line. I knew that Newport is known for being expensive going into it but I had an awful experience here. There was only one barista working which I assume is the owner, but she made the experience even more frustrating for me especially after making my order first and then charging $18 for two medium iced lattes with regular milk before tip and tax. I thought the price was a mistake but was already frustrated with my experience in line. The lattes were watered down and was nothing special. I wanted to try a local coffee shop for the first time and it almost ruined my experience of being in Newport. I recommend this place if you want to waste your time and funds. read more

Seriously? I only wish I would have seen the reviews of this place before we went. Not the lying five star reviews, but the correct one star reviews. She is clearly a thief! We were astounded when we got 2 teeny tiny smallest coffee's we have ever seen and a cookie and she charged us $21.35. When we questioned the bill, she pretty much spoke very fast, double talking, and blamed it on 8% tax. Plus she charged me $1.00 for a teaspoon full of honey. she reels people in because you feel bad that she's the only one working and she's a nonstop talker. Our calculations say, she overcharged us by her advertised prices by approx $4.00. Please hear me clearly that I am all for entrepreneurial ship and small businesses. Otherwise I would not have entered the place. But this is just plain rudeness. I wish I could give zero stars. Coffee and drinks were fine - nothing to write home about. Same for the rice krispy treat we had. Location is beautiful. However, this place is INSANELY expensive. Like, wow I could not believe it. We ordered one small iced coffee with oat milk (which normally comes with a small upcharge), a small mudslide latte, and a rice krispy treat and the total was $25. The price alone is insane but the small drinks were the size of the free water cup you get at places with soda fountains - picture with iPhone 11 Max included for size reference. Insane. Do not get trapped into buying a coffee here. The beauty of Rhode Island is that we have coffee shops EVERYWHERE. Went in to grab a quick bite, a water, small coffee that was about three sips worth and a danish was $30. As soon I took a bit of my danish I noticed a hair on the top. I quickly went back in and just asked for a refund because I wasn't hungry anymore as the hair just turned me off. The lady in charge denied seeing the hair and I picked it off and gave it to her, for her to say I could not get a refund because it probably got in there as soon as I left the store. I work in food service and some people struggle with fears of germs and such and when that happens you give them a refund. Way too sweet - despite asking for just a touch of flavor shot. The bottom of the cup tasted like the gestational diabetes challenge where you have to drink 100g of corn syrup. This is my favorite cafe on the waterfront in Newport and has been for the past 20 years I have lived in Newport. The lovely setting among the yachts and schooners of Newport can't be beat. The owner is very nice. She runs this place pretty much by herself. Like many Yelpers have pointed out this is clearly a local place where locals go. The price point is a little more expensive, but in my opinion your paying to enjoy the location and sit at the dock with your newspaper, book or just to enjoy the ocean. It was one of our favorite parts of visiting Newport, grabbing a frozen cappuccino and watching the ocean. We will definitely be coming back! read more

I live on the north shore of Chicago and am appalled at the lack of quality of products for the price they request you to pay. My younger sister (who's 16) and I decided to stop here before the beach and she decided to treat to a frozen cappuccino, a raspberry lemonade, and a piece of marble cake. The total $22! We were taken aback by the cost of three items and the fact that they can justify the price. The small cappuccino I had was smaller than a tall at Starbucks and more expensive and at the end of drinking it I was left with half a cup of ice! And my sisters raspberry lemonade came frozen? Which was unexpected. My sister and I were taken advantage of. My sister is extremely disappointed in her thin slice of marble cake that somehow must've been $10?!
