This place is so reasonably priced and the food is good. It's a very casual place with tables inside and outdoors. People just hang here and enjoy each other's company. They have tvs with every sport you can think of. I ordered the hot cafe mocha and it comes very hot. So be careful. They have Vietnamese sandwiches, burgers and soup. They have all kinds of hot or cold coffee or tea and boba too. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with ham and eggs in a croissant and it's so tasty. This place is fire!! The week my boyfriend and I discovered this place, we came back 2 more times. The Cookie Shake is 11/10. You can get it with or without coffee, both are awesome. I can see why many people like hanging out at this Vietnamese coffee place. They have TVs, piano for anyone to play, patio outside, wifi and nice service. You can stay as long as you want and nobody will bother you. Nevertheless, I wouldn't have come here if it weren't for my friend the last couple of times. I have no problem with their food and drinks which tasted fine. What keeps me from going back is their chain-smoking customers and their virtually non-existent ventilation system. Although they were smoking outside, somehow all the cigarette smoke engulfed the inside of the coffee shop. This might not be a big deal to some people but for those who are allergic to cigarette smoke, this is not something to shrug off. I had a hard time breathing as my air passage was so irritated and started to constrict. The smoke wouldn't stop flooding in because the smokers lighted one right after another. I love their chicken salad sandwich! Hands down the best I've ever tried. It came with a slice of pickle and potatoes chips for about $6. I admit it's kinda pricey but I didn't mind since I had good company. I'd say its a great place to sit and talk with your friends and do homework (if you like working in a busy environment.) They close at midnight so that's a bonus, especially if you have late night munchies or just need free wifi. The women working there are extremely nice. In the old days I used to come here for their tuna sandwich and strawberry lemonade, because a friend of mine recommended it to me. Tuna is tuna, and if you like tuna you really can't go wrong, but their tuna was light, it came with sprouts, tomato, and lettuce on a croissant served with plain ruffles, and a pickle. Light and convenient (drive thru available). I haven't been there in years and today I decided to try their steak sandwich for the first time. We had Coffee Lovers way back when and we remembered how much we loved their Vietnamese sandwiches. So we decided to come back years later using their drive-through to order some Vietnamese sandwiches as well as a couple others. Not sure how the food tastes like but the drive-through system needs to be improved ASAP. We were told to pull up a couple feet forward from the order window to avoid congesting the order line. It was not a big deal for us because we did not mind waiting for our already paid order and let the guy behind us get his iced coffee. However, it took a little over 30 mins and two cars had already left with their orders. The owner, we believe, came out and apologized saying that our order was ready for a long time but was never brought out to us. She continued to explain that since someone in the drive-through line complained about the wait, they realized that we were STILL waiting for our order. If it was not for the person who complained, we would still be waiting for our order, not knowing for how long or if we would even receive our order. read more

I live down the street when I was 18 I saw this shop and gave it a try. Now I'm 34 and I have to go here at least once a month. I usually order the Vietnamese sandwich, house special salad, Chinese chicken salad, tuna salad, chicken cesar salad, vegetarian sandwich with extra avocados, and fresh squeeze orange juice. The ingredients are fresh. The baguette bread os different from the typical Asian baguette. It's not hard like Lees sandwich. It's soft and very tasty as croutons. This place doesn't use pate for their sandwiches but replace with mayo. Overall my go to Vietnamese sandwich for a long day at the beach or a long day waiting at my kids tournament. Oh they use to have almond croissant which is to DIE FOR but they stop making them a few years ago. It's funny because I never give up asking if they have it. Their pearls were kind of hard and not a soft chewy that is usually served, and they barely gave me any in the first place. The taste was okay but soooo thick I had to suck that straw harder than my boyfriends in order for something to come out. But it tastes good I guess 3/5. They were SO FAST with their service. I was in the area looking for a Starbucks and saw Coffee Lovers. Whoa, whoa, whoa..is that a DRIVE-THRU?!?!?! I was sold. I pulled in and asked if they were cash only. I was pleasantly surprised they accept cards! I ordered an iced Vietnamese coffee for $3.75 which is a $1.25 more than most places. When I pulled up she had my drink in a hot drink cup. They have an AWESOME mocha bianca (white mocha) shake. You can also get the hot or ice espresso drink version also. I'm a sucker for white mocha anything. =) They have a good array of different types of drinks including coffee, smoothies and shakes. The orange shake is an honorable mention here. I think the secret ingredient is some Tang to give it that unique taste. They also offer pasteries and sandwiches for some good eats. You gotta try the STEAK SANDWICH they have here. It even comes with nicely crispy fries. It may look small but it can actually be pretty filling. Yay to meat and potatoes! =D Another plus is that they're open until midnight. So glad my friends take me to all the hidden gems of San Jose! Besides Bambu, my friends know I haven't tried too many Vietnamese desserts or drinks. They said there was this avocado (yum!) drink that I MUST try, so I was really excited. It comes in a plastic cup with all the avocado and mix on the bottom. You have to crush and mix it all up to eat/drink. Very cool and delicious! All of their other drinks are delicious - very fresh and satisfying. When you're not craving boba, this is the place to be! It was busy for a late afternoon, but I was able to grab a quick coffee Togo. The Borgia with a hint of orange was my drink of choice. There were a few food options and plenty of seating inside and an outdoor patio, as well. If your in a hurry, they have a drive thru window, too.
