First time trying the coffee here, and it wasn't too bad compared to other places. They also offer bánh mì sandwiches and a variety of them. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside, making it a nice spot to relax. The service was good, and overall it was a pleasant experience. I'd come back to try more of the menu.

I went to Trung Nguyen Cafe in San Jose's Vietnam Town and tried their egg coffee, one of their signature drinks. The place was pretty quiet for a Saturday morning, but I actually liked the calm vibe. Coffee is strong and feels authentic, which is what you'd expect from a well-known Vietnamese coffee brand. I probably should've asked for less sugar though, mine was a bit too sweet to my liking. Still enjoyable overall. They have strong wifi and plenty of seating, making this a good spot to hang out or work & study. Definitely a great option if you're in the area and want a caffeine boost, I highly recommend this place!

This is a place I go to if I want to feel like I'm in Vietnam. You have to get that authentic Vietnamese iced coffee. It'll get you through the day all day.

Really clean and well decorated space. The vietnamese egg coffee costs about $8ish and is sized to large only. Taste is there and very strong flavors. Had a bit of a wait even when it was slow but I presumed it was perhaps some attention to detail as other orders after me were quicker. Definitely a try it out to see spot.

Trung Nguyen Legend Coffee seems very serious about coffee and uses high quality ingredients. I really like the Iced Coffee with Coconut Cream. It's a good balance between the bitterness of the coffee with the sweet coconut cream. The egg coffee was okay, but I had bought it with a BOGO and didn't drink it right away, so I need to try it again fresh. I didn't like the tiramisu latte. It seemed too sweet. This location is spacious and elegant. There is a lot of seating and a couple outlets. They're always playing pleasant music, but this is a cafe for people to chat, so it's not always quiet enough to work well. I like how they are open late.

Was in the area and haven't gotten a chance to try Trung Nguyen Legend yet. Had lunch in Vietnam town and decided to get dessert and coffee. The interior of this shop is beautiful! Loved the aesthetic and theres inside and outside seating. There was a deal on the pandan waffles, I believe it was buy 3 get 1 free, something like that - I can't remember. The waffle was pretty good. It was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside and had good flavor. The egg coffee was good. It was strong! I really enjoyed it, but I couldn't drink it all in one sitting. I'd come back to try other drinks.

I've had Trung Nguyen Legend bookmarked for quite some time and I was ecstatic to finally be able to give them a try. With this coffee house being one of MANY located here in Vietnam Town, you really gotta shine to stay afloat and I can absolutely confirm this place is gonna be here to stay... Trung Nguyen Legend prides themselves in setting themselves apart by growing their own beans in Vietnam, they care for the environment by focusing on sustainable & renewable agriculture. A jack of all trades, this coffee company offers whole roasted coffee beans, ground coffee, instant coffee, & coffee in pod form. Purchases: *Vietnamese Egg Coffee *Tiramisu Latte *Lychee Green Tea The drinks were delicious. The egg coffee hits you with a massive punch from the deliciously bold coffee and mellows out when you have a sip of the thick, frothy egg cream. The tiramisu is more of a tamed level of caffeine- this drink is creamy and well balanced. Definitely a better choice for those who are not familiar with traditional Vietnamese slow drip coffee. The lychee green tea was brewed perfectly- nothing overpoweringly bitter yet the tea flavor shined through the lychee floral-ly sweetness. I'd come back specifically for this tea. Extra points because TNL serves 12 different variants of Thien Huong's banh mi. 5/5 stars for the products being severed and the overall experience.

Super spacious and eye catching interior with a nice round of instrumental music playing in the background. They share a bathroom with the com tam place next door which was actually super spacious and clean. If you love pandan you MUST try the Pandan Lotus Seed Tea! It was perfectly sweetened and refreshing with the fresh aroma of real pandan. Pro-tip: you get 3% off if you pay cash

Great place for some coffee and pandan waffles! This place was quite busy. I ordered their pandan green lotus drink and did not really care for it. Personally it did not taste like pandan to me. However, their other coffees tasted good. Their pandan waffle is made more on the golden side which gives it a slight crunch. The place seemed clean and the workers seem friendly. Prices are reasonable. They have a good amount of seating available inside and outside. I would recommend!

This post is mainly about the bánh mì Thiên Hương counter inside Trung Nguyên Coffee. Service was quite slow, about 15-20 minutes for drinks and 30 minutes (29 minutes to be exact) for the bánh mì. I didn't order a drink myself so I can't comment on the taste, but my friend did and had to wait a long time. We visited Saturday at 1pm and it didn't seem very crowded. Parking was also difficult to find. They had a buy-3-get-1-free bánh mì promotion, but the portions were smaller and had less meat compared to Đức Hương. The price difference is small ($7.50 here vs. $8.75 at Đức Hương with a buy4-get-1-free large bánh mì promotion). Taste was okay overall, but the bread wasn't very crispy. I probably wouldn't come back.

Tried this place for the first time today, and I started with their Egg Coffee. It came with a thick egg cream up top that was rich and delicious. The service was helpful, and the ambiance was elegant, but seating is very limited, and the shop is busy

Traditional Vietnamese coffee (middle), zen coffee set
    Peter P.

If you love your coffee strong, bold, and unapologetically Vietnamese--Trung Legend is where it's at. Tried both the Traditional Vietnamese Coffee (middle) and the Zen Coffee Set, and let me tell you: this coffee is not built for the weak. Each sip hits with that rich, deep roast you can only get from true Vietnamese beans. The traditional version packs a nostalgic punch--smooth yet intense, perfect over ice. The Zen set adds a beautiful, mindful touch to the experience while still delivering that signature strength. This isn't your watered-down trendy café brew. It's robust, full-bodied, and keeps you awake for hours--exactly how Vietnamese coffee should be. Great ambiance, too. Clean setup, friendly staff, and a peaceful vibe that balances out the caffeine jolt. If you're someone who respects a good, proper coffee that doesn't hold back--this place is a hidden gem. It's should be more popular than it is and great place to study despite having so many options in this plaza

Heard rave reviews so we had to stop by when in San Jose! Came on a weekday afternoon and boy there was a line but we were determined. It moved quickly so it was about 5 mins to order and another 20 mins for our order. There was a lot of people waiting out front (pickup is by the pickup window), which can be confusing and crowded. It was all worth it! We all got the banh mi dac biet (cold cut) and I split a large with my sister, which was super filling and nicely priced! Firstly I was a big fan of the baguette bread, I like the texture and how it's crunchy. The cold cuts were thickly cut and they were generous with the amount. It was so thick I couldn't open my mouth wide enough to bite it all at once lol. There was also a good amount of veggies (do chua, cucumber, cilantro, jalapeños) and I thought the amount of pate was perfect as well! All in all, super delicious, would recommend and I would definitely go out of my way to come back here if I get the chance!

However, it moves fairly quick, as there's usually multiple cashiers taking orders. The longest wait is actually waiting for your completed order. They're mostly famous for their banh mis, and sells them in two sizes, small and large. The small is convenient for people who can't finish a whole large by themselves. They also do sell a lot of other things in there, like nem, gio, xoi, etc. It's hard to go in there and not come out with a lot of things.

The shop is quite small, so it is definitely a grab-and-go place. Their only menu item is a banh mi with various fillings. Each banh mi was $7.50, a very fair price. The cashier was so kind, and my order arrived quickly. I was impressed with the size of each banh mi. A single banh mi was so filling. The baguette was filled with daikon, cucumber, jalapeno, cilantro and meat. The grilled pork was my absolute favorite: the meat was cooked to perfection. This is the perfect speedy lunch. It doesnt have the best front store or inside store appeal but its definitely authentic. These ladies start making their food early in the morning. I came at 715 one morning and the glass windows were already foggy (mainly because it was freezing inside and they were cooking up a storm inside). The older ladies were in the back, seated in a low seat, shredding carrots and radish into big bowls. It doesn't get more authentic than these guys. As for the sandwich, it was about $1-$3 cheaper than Duc Huong and their sandwiches do not cut the roof of your mouth! Doc Huong sandwiches are too tough for me and I prefer the softer, fresh french bread. Duc Huongs meat is also a bit too charred for me while Thien Huong's meat is a bit more juicier and tender. If I was in the area, I'd come back 100%.

It was a Wednesday and Devin and I were looking to make it a productive work day. We stopped by later in the afternoon. There is ample seating but most of the booths were occupied when we arrived so we sat at a table. Club music was being played loudly so working here would not be ideal if you have to present in meetings. The tropical paradise fruit tea would've been better with a topping or two, but in an attempt to cut down on calories consumed I've began getting drinks without toppings. Unfortunately fruit tea without toppings is just not the same, but this was totally my choice and on me. The WiFi worked well. There are some outlets under the booths but none at the tables. I've been to other Rose Tea Lounge locations and I'd say that this one is definitely more club-like than others. Not the ideal place to work remotely by any means, but that's not to say that the drinks are bad or ambiance is poor. If you're looking to chat and catch up with friends, this spot would be a good choice.
