A few people online said this place was better than duc huong - my favorite place for banh mi - so decided to give this a try on a saturday at noon. It's a small storefront with snacks, you can walk up to the counter to place your order. There's more variety on the menu, so that's nice to see. Food came out in 10 minutes, so service was quick. However - For a similar price, the portions were much smaller, and flavors were nowhere as good as duc huong. The bread didn't feel as fresh, and was harder from edge to inside. We ordered the Lynda special, grilled pork, offal (ears), and tomato xiu mai. The Lynda special was pretty dry, the grilled pork had an overwhelming ginger flavor and lacked the chargrilled aroma, the ears were okay, and the tomato xiu mai did not really taste like tomato. Probably will not be back as long as duc huong exists, but can be a quick fix for bang mi if needed.

I came here because a YouTuber was saying this wins over Duc Huong. I must say that is his opinion and here is mine. Food (3.5 stars) + Bread is excellent here if you're into not so bready baguettes. It's thinner with excellent crust. + Grilled pork has plenty of lemongrass flavors - Egg cost $3 extra - Meat to veggie ratio is not well balanced and I thought the meat can be overpowering but that might be a good thing for some - I couldn't taste the pate in the pork belly sandwich although it's there. Maybe they didn't put enough? Service/Ambiance (3 stars) + Ambiance of an Asian convenience store with lots of snack options - There is not place to sit, and my sandwich took more than 15 minutes to make My 2 sandwiches cost $20 and cash only. It's hard for me to consider returning because I can almost get 3 sandwiches from Huong Lan.

Cash only market/banh mi shop in the heart of Little Saigon. Sandwiches were very reasonable at about $8 a piece, some were maybe $8.50-$9, but $8 seemed to be the standard. I got the grilled pork banh mi (#8) and thought it was super flavorful! Very different than any other pork banh mi I've had as it kinda had a curry flavor. There's no seating inside or out so you do have to take it to go. I was starving so I ate it in my car before continuing on with my day.

#8: bánh mì with grilled pork. Cross section after a couple bites to expose the ratio of fillings.

Convenience store that makes sandwiches, some desserts, and beverages. It's cash only, so be advised. I ordered the #8 (grilled pork). Overall, Solid 3.5/5! Flipped a coin to decide which I'd give them here on Yelp. Good: The grilled pork is exactly what I'm looking for in a bánh mì. Super flavorful sauce that had a sweet and savory flavor with earthy spices. Plenty of veg to add texture and crunch as well as some moisture. Sliced chilis were not spicy at all, but that might've been their judgment call from their impression of me. (No complaints, honestly) It's a pretty hefty sandwich so $8 is pretty worth it! Bad: The bread. I find it a bit too hard as it behaves like day old French bread reheated in the toaster oven, and disintegrates into an explosion of crumbs when you bite into it. If the bread is your favorite part, avoid this place . That being said, it didn't ruin the sandwich for me. Service had no negatives from me. Ladies in the back are friendly and polite!

A must stop if I'm in the area! The staff is friendly and attentive. There is plenty of parking around. I've tried several drinks here and my go to are the Hazelnut Mocha #18, Mungbean Milk w/ Pandan (must try) #22, and #35. All of them are delicious and they have a unique taste. When I come here, I also make sure to take a #5 sandwich to go. It comes with eggs and sausage. I've tried the other sandwiches but this is my favorite one. The bread is fresh and the food tastes fresh. If you want to make a quick stop and get some delicious Vietnamese items to go, this is the place!

If you're looking for a Banh Mi Trung...and don't have time to wait in a long queue across the street...come support these ladies. The portion and flavors were just right for my liking. There are also a lot of snacks and drinks to choose from...AND a wide variety of 3-in-1 coffee packs for sale. My first time visiting, and will definitely be back when I'm in the area. Just remember... it's cash only.

Lynda Sandwich can be easy to miss since they're tucked away in the plaza. They have lots of snacks to purchase on top of banh mi. There's no indoor seating, so all orders are to go. I had purchased 2 grilled pork banh mi ($7.50 each). It was a bit pricey compared to another store I usually purchase mine at. They filled it with a lot of meat, but not so much on the veggies. The cucumbers didn't seem as fresh or crunchy. I heard their chicken one was really good, so I want to come back and try that one. If you're really craving banh mi, they'll satisfy your cravings.

Just found out about this to go place last year. I have been to their other location in SoCal and their sandwiches here in SJ ARE just a good. The store is very neat and straightforward. They have lots of Asian snacks as well and the workers make it very welcoming. The service is very fast. My family and I placed an order one day and decided to walk and get some boba in the plaza and then come back to pick up our sandwiches. Little did we know, they closed at 4pm and when we came back, their gate was closed. The worker was nice enough to wait for us and handed us our sandwiches. Always recommend this place to anyone who like ban mi

Came here to pick up dinner before work around 4:45 pm, a little bit before closing! The cashier was friendly and waited patiently while I looked at the menu. I ordered the Lynda Special for $6.25 and took it to-go for work. I didn't end up eating the sandwich until much later, maybe 4 hours after I bought it. To my surprise, it was still really flavorful and the bread wasn't soggy at all. It was still pretty tasty. The sandwich is definitely much better when it's fresh and warm, but the banh mi was still pretty decent hours later! Very satisfying and somewhat impressed. Overall, I want to go back and try more that's on their menu.

Definitely larger portions and super affordable. We picked up the items 30 mins before our party started, and they were still fresh and crispy throughout the whole night! A local friend from San Jose took me here as it's the only place his family ,(originally from Vietnam) will go out to eat. After trying their Bun Moc I see why? The rice roll (noodle) was thin and delicate. Doused in fish sauce and chili paste to taste, this dish hits all the notes. Sweet, spicy, sour, acid, bitter and umami! This sampler plate has 4 different type of Vietnamese sausage including my new favorite with cinnamon! Two types of stuffing inside the rice rolls ,(pork and seafood) and is served with a fried spring roll and a taro and potato pancake. It's a humble looking eatery packed with locals speaking in Vietnamese so you know it is good. Seems to be a family restaurant too! Between Saigon and Hanoi, I went on a full-blown bánh cuốn quest, trying different spots almost daily. Street stalls, little hole-in-the-wall shops, famous spots--you name it. At some point I stopped being a tourist and became a rice-roll inspector. So yeah... my standards are unfortunately very high now. The best bánh cuốn I had in Vietnam was paper thin and almost translucent, with this delicate chew that somehow breaks apart and melts in your mouth. That's the texture I'm chasing. Coming back here, the rice sheets were noticeably thicker and didn't have that same delicate texture. They also weren't as fresh and warm as I remembered, which makes a huge difference with bánh cuốn. This is one of those dishes that's at its best when the sheets are freshly steamed and hit your table warm. The meat filling was also underwhelming and not nearly as flavorful or savory as another bánh cuốn spot I've had in San Jose. With a dish this simple, there's nowhere to hide--the rice sheet, filling, freshness and nước mám chấm (fish sauce) all have to work together. It's certainly not bad, and I can understand why people enjoy it. But after eating my way through Saigon and Hanoi in pursuit of the perfect bánh cuốn, this one is kinda meh for me now. My old review gave this place 4 stars. Vietnam ruined me.

We've probably eaten here 50+ times with family and friends, and one thing I can say is that they are 100% consistent. We've never had a bad meal here. There's a great variety of Vietnamese dishes, so everyone can usually find something they like. The chả cá (fish) is one of their popular dishes and a favorite. They also have good chicken phở, broken rice, vermicelli noodles, spring rolls, roll-your-own options, and plenty of soups beyond phở. You can order individual dishes or share family-style, which makes it especially easy when coming with a group. It's very casual, family-friendly, quick, and straightforward--nothing fancy and probably not where I'd choose for a date night. But for a dependable meal with family or friends, it's a great spot. Kids like it, parents like it, and my mom likes it--which says a lot coming from an older Vietnamese person who knows her Vietnamese food! The staff is always efficient and nice, and after all these years, the food remains consistently good. The biggest downside is parking. The entire shopping center has become so busy with restaurants that finding a spot can be overwhelming, especially during peak hours. Also, keep in mind they do not take credit cards. Bring cash, or you can pay electronically through options such as Zelle/Venmo. Overall, this is one of those longtime neighborhood restaurants we keep coming back to because we know exactly what we're going to get: good Vietnamese food, plenty of choices, friendly service, and consistency.
