They will tell you honestly if there's need to be replaced and fixed to your garage unlike the one I contacted first, Ofek Ari, from BH Garage and gate. This guy overcharged me but thanks to good people who has good conscience, Coffey Overhead Garage Doors, Gabby, she told me that I do not need to replace a new spring. Ofek Ari is charging me for $1,472 for fixing LOGIC BOARD but I learned that it should only cost less than $100 so I refused to pay him $1,472. He eventually asking me how much do I want to pay him, so I only paid him $300 for the expenses coming to my houses because he didn't really fixed my garage door. The automatic light and my remote are NOT working during cold weather. read more

This company is incredible! I had another company come to my house to fix a spring on my garage door. They ripped me off and sold me the wrong spring and then said my motor was broken and had to be replaced. When they left my garage door wasn't working! They were con artists! Thank god I called Coffey! Their incredible technician, Maurice came out and immediately figured out the problem, and replaced the spring with the right size, and a few minutes later my garage door worked perfectly! Coffey installed a garage door for us approximately 25 years ago. Recently, the cables on the sides of the door, which raise and lower it, have been coming off of their pulleys (about three times in the past three months). I'm a do it your selfer, and have managed to rewind the cables and get the door working each time. The other day, however, while trying to rewind the cables the garage door got out of level, and when I closed it one end was touching the ground, and the other end of the door was about three inches above the ground. After doing some research I discovered I'd have to fool around with the garage door spring to fix this new problem, but I also discovered this could be a very dangerous thing to do if you do not have experience. I had no frame of reference, but I figured the job would cost $200 or $300 if I paid a professional. Then I figured it would cost me thousands if I got seriously hurt. I called Coffey. I called late Friday afternoon, and the dispatcher told me she would send someone over on Monday, since they are closed on weekends. The two guys showed up when they said they would, and said the job would cost $125. Over the next 30 minutes or so I watched these guys level the door, fix the side cables, and lube all of the hinges and the motor chain. They basically gave my garage door a much needed tuneup, which was more than I expected. From the person at the office to the guys who came to my house, five stars all around. These guys were fast, competent, clean, and friendly. Five stars Coffey. read more

I had Coffey come over to look at a problem with my garage door. Don took one look, had an idea what it was, and then carefully checked some other things to confirm it. He was extremely knowledgeable, and taught me some tips of things I can do myself to prolong the life of my Genie garage door unit. He even saved me from having to buy a new remote ($60) by being patient and figuring out how to re-program an old universal remote I had found in storage. Professional, knowledgeable, courteous. They installed our garage door maybe 15 years ago and recognized that when they came out. I went inside and left Don Messina to chat it up w my spouse who vaguely remembers when his parents installed the door. Don left without nailing down an appointment and never followed up as promised. I had already taken bids from two other places and really tried to get him back here to repair the door. The Gabby person messed up the 1st appointment which was supposed to be right after Xmas. Then lied to cover her ass. Then just got more and more snippy and rude. So I just went with Dyer doors because they are pleasant and classy and professional and return phone calls and stay on the phone to GET IT HANDLED right then and there! I have used Coffey Overhead Garage Doors in both of my homes in the Hollywood Hills. In 1976, they constructed, installed and serviced a two car wood garage door. It is still going strong and looks great. Then when I built my second home in the Hollywood Hills in about 2004 they again constructed, installed and serviced my two car wood garage door. But after 15 years a bracket broke. Within a day after calling the company, Don-the General Manger came over within the two hour appointment window, and immediately knew what to do. He replaced the broken bracket, serviced the garage door and now it hums like a fine tuned musical instrument. This company is very reliable, honest and reasonably priced. To keep it running smooth Don said it should be serviced about every two years. I need to remind myself to do it because I certainly don't want to replace it. The work was done efficiently--no more than about 30 minutes--and effectively, meaning they fully addressed my concerns. The spring on my garage door and luckily a neighbor handed me a card for Coffey. My experience was far better than other garage door companies that kept me waiting in the house forever. My appointment window was 3-5 and Coffey showed up at 3:10. He fixed the problem I called about and another problem (without charging extra). Prices weren't cheap but were much more reasonable than other companies. I would call again though I hope I won't need to. read more

The lady who answers the phone would not give the above the time of day. She was rude and abrasive and after waiting many days and not getting an appointment and getting attitude from the lady answering the phone, she gave up and went elsewhere. They installed our garage door and we thought - they're great! - We even bought a lifetime warranty. But we have had nothing but problems since. The receptionist is always rude. They have still not fixed the problem after multiple visits, so our garage door has been inoperable for months. Coffey replaced the motor of my garage, did not check if my garage door would open widely if I had to open it manually. when we had a power outage and I opened my door manually I noticed that it didn't open completely. called them, the crew said that my springs need it a little adjustment and there will be a charge. I refused the repair, I was not going to pay again for something they should have checked at the time of installation and this is what I said to the repair men. One of them said they would fix it with no charge, it took them less than one minute to tighten the springs and left. few hours later a coffey representative called me and threaten me by saying "if I would need repairs in the future I would have to take care of this bill before they would come out again" ( I have a one year warranty for my motor) Is she for real? I called and left messages for Mr. Mesina with no response. I will also make sure that the businesses in my neighborhood that recommends them will not do so. read more

We have used Coffey Overhead Garage Doors for decades now. Around 12 years ago, they created a two-car garage door and matching gate for us. It upgraded our house immensely. (Our house is basically sort of ugly, but we are now known in the neighborhood as the one with the beautiful garage door.) Just as or even more importantly, they have serviced our door and automatic opener periodically to keep it in great working order. I knew we were about due for a maintenance visit but waited until we were back from a month away. We returned last Thursday afternoon, I went to open the garage door in order to go to the market and stock our completely empty refrigerator after visiting my mother (who just entered hospice), and a hinge and roller broke with the door open only 3 feet. We could not move the door and were trapped. I frantically called Coffey, and despite the fact that everyone was booked and it was already about 1pm, the office sent two workers who were in the area and arrived within an hour or so to help get my car out of the garage. They then returned Friday with a new kind of replacement hinge which they attached and then serviced the door and opener. This company is obviously as compassionate as they are good, and they are very good at what they do! I seldom give 5 stars, but Coffey Overhead Doors is most definitely, "Woohoo!
