They looked at the panel and said it was too old to replace, and that the door itself was in bad shape. They strongly recommended a new door and motor (they said the motor had to be replaced because of a new law passed in 2018, even though ours was from 2015). The guys seemed nice enough, so I believed them. But I wanted a second quote. ABC Garage Door came out next. I didn't mention anything about the first company. Jaime, the owner, looked at the situation and said I didn't need a new door, just the one panel reinforced. I asked, "No new door?" He said, "Well, if you want a new door I can get you one, but you don't need one." He came back the next day and reinforced the panel in 30 minutes. It runs perfectly now, no more clunking. Oh, and the first company followed up with a quote for a new door, still steel. The price? $16,500!!!

We highly recommend Pro Handyman Service!…read more I wanted to write this review because we had a request that, while not unique, wasn't that easily categorized under a common household repair category, so we decided we would look for a general handyman that would be able to do it all. We have a sliding barn door for a guest bathroom, and because there was a bit of a gap from the wall to the door, it wasn't very private for our guests, and there was also no latch on the barn door. It's a strange choice for a bathroom, but we also didn't have the budget to change the entire door. I reached out to a few pros to get their assessments, and Pro Handyman Service was not the cheapest option for this job, but they had great reviews and I appreciated that they gave me an upfront quote. The quote actually helped me to budget accordingly, and I didn't feel like there were going to be a bunch of hidden charges that I wouldn't be able to plan for. I also felt that Pro Handyman Service was easy to communicate with and they responded to my questions very quickly over Yelp messages. They are busy, by the way, so try to schedule early so you can get a time slot. Denis arrived at our home promptly and on time, and was very careful to keep the home clean by wearing booties to cover his shoes. He listened and reviewed the situation, then gave us several options based on his opinions and experience. For example, he said he could use either wood or plastic paneling to add a "privacy edge" to the sliding door, and we ultimately settled on wood for the sides and plastic for the top of the door. He had everything needed for the job and just needed to leave to purchase the wood paneling and returned promptly to do the install. He also painted and caulked the new wooden privacy edge on each side of the door. We had already purchased a latch, which he also installed while accommodating the added privacy edge to the door. Denis worked very quickly and efficiently, leaving no mess behind. As you can see from the photos, the installation looks quite neat and clean, and almost looks as if the door came that way. It was nice that he was able to cut the privacy edge to accommodate the baseboard, too. Overall, this was a very positive experience with Pro Handyman Service and we think you'll be pleased with them as well! Hopefully this review will be helpful to anyone else who is looking for someone who needs a handyman (and especially if they have a specific request that might be similar to ours)!

I had a very odd issue of an extremely shakey washing machine, which after several repair attempts led me to inspect the floor. Denis his colleague showed up to move the washer/dryer and inspect the floor, and determined it was not level (it was VERY uneven). Denis gave me several options for how to proceed. They took the time to show me the support frame under the floor and explain why it wasn't level, and what they could do to level it as much as possible. I had hired Pro Handyman Service to address the floor only, but after they were finished and placed everything back the way it was, Denis asked to see a wash cycle on the washing machine to see if the floor fixed the machine as well - it worked great, no more intense shaking! Highly recommend, and will definitely be using their services again in the future.

Subject 5-STAR review is for Garage Guru PROS: - Sam was professional by texting an ETA prior to heading to the address provided - arrived on-time not wasting customer's time - experienced in his trade (highly recommended/gets the job done promptly) - diagnosed and identified the issue timely - replaced two (2) springs timely - Brand is American Springs (quality brand), oil tempered torsion springs better than galvanized (due to time constraint I did not ask to see the spec or invoice of the new replacement springs) - chose Garage Guru after analyzing/reading reviews by satisfied customers (zero negative review as of 7/6/2026) - happy and satisfied customers are the best free marketing and by word of mouths is most potent marketing - licensed and insured per Sam (due to time constraints I did not ask for a copy of the license/insurance) - lubricated the hinges and wheels for a quieter garage door when closing/opening - per Sam he completed a full balance, adjustment, and alignment CONS: - none as of July 6, 2026 NOTE: - if you as a customer re-negotiate and agreed on a price for parts and labor be sure to ask Garage Guru if the replacement parts in this case the springs are at 10,000 or 25,000 cycles, as an example for clarity. Lastly, I will continue to monitor the quality of the two (2) springs per Sam the brand is American Spring (a quality brand), which were installed and rated for 10,000 cycles (typically lasts for 7 to 10 years on average if you open the garage door around 4X per day Vs 25,000 cycles about 17 years under the same usage and will update subject review in the future. However, Sam was gracious to re-assure customer's confidence by extending the warranty for "parts and labor" to 3 years Vs 1 year for the two (2) springs rated for 10,000 cycles. Overall, I would highly recommend Garage Guru to friends and family given Sam "gets the job done" promptly, highly experienced at his trade, on-time, and is reasonable and professional when customer's questions emerge for clarification.

He welded the new hinge and the problem was still there. The gate wouldn't close because the space wasn't there. The repairmen said he was only there to weld. He called the company to talk to me about this issue. The company called me and said everything looks good right? It was not. He and the repairman had a long conversation over the phone because he had to be somewhere else. The repairman after checking the closure, stated that a space/hole needed to be cut into the wooden pole to push the metal plate in. He ended up putting in the hole and it does close now. The repairman did really seem to try to fix the gate. Overall 3.5 stars. Positives: The initial service call and repair time was quick. The gate looks fixed and repairman who came out seemed nice and tried to make things right. Negatives: Putting in the new hinge didn't really seem to fix anything and felt like an extra cost still. On the phone, they tried to explain that they have a lot of experience with these gates and that the hinge needed to be replaced. With all that experience, why did they not see this other problem. After they fixed the gate, I then recalled that a different gate company in the past (for a different issue) told me the pole was the problem. Maybe I will use that company in the future instead. The company seems to track reviews closely. I got a call about my review within 15 minutes of posting. They wanted to find out what happened.
