I got the portobello and roasted eggplant sandwich and it was delicious. The focaccia bread was divine. So soft and satisfying. The subtle pesto spread was just enough to add good flavor without making the sandwich soggy or drippy. The sandwich came with a side of carrot salad and a shredded potato salad. Most breakfast places seat diners during their open hours. If it says 1:30pm then the staff can get out by 2:30. This restaurant tends to push people away - who are there for brunch - at about 12:15. Not sure the owners know how much business they are actually turning away since it's not apparent that once someone has been turned away over an hour before their end of day never bother to return. Also now that tips aren't technically taxed I would think employees would like a full day of work. Perhaps they need 2 shifts of wait staff and/or open for breakfast at 8:00am rather than 7:00. I moved to Manchester 3 yrs ago and have been baffled by the shortage of people willing to work full time or employers willing to add part-time workers on their busy days (Friday through Monday) There must be a way to keep staff and accommodate early afternoon brunch (10-2pm) diners. Manchester is basically a resort town that has kept its small town feel - which is a positive - but most restaurants in the area depend on seasonal diners. (Ski season, Fall foliage (leaf peepers, Summer equestrian, musical, play events and quiet during "mud season" so many businesses take a break some time during April/May. Manchester is an odd duck of a town - more New England than upstate NY or E. Pennsylvania. Some old locals insist on calling lunch - dinner and dinner supper which just confuses anyone who isn't a member of the DAR. (Daughters of the American Revolution) I have friends here who had relatives come over on the Mayflower - it was obviously a VERY crowded boat.

I returned the next day on a mission for a yummy pick me up before our drive home and ordered a Nutty Vermonter Matcha Latte. The "nutty vermonter" add on includes pistachio and maple syrup. I balked a bit that the price tag was over $10 (before tip) but in a happy accident, the barista got my drink wrong (gave me a Nutty Vermonter latte sans matcha), so after she remade mine, she asked if I wanted the other one too. It worked out that I got a creamy, delicious drink (exactly what I wanted) and our driver taking us back home got a sweet pistachio latte too. 10/10 from both him and me!

Despite the name Upper Standard Coffee don't be fooled they looked as though they do a whole lot more than that. They had a case of some baked goods, waffle breakfast sandwiches and also advertised both ice cream and pizzas. Also besides coffee they had lotus energy drinks and I saw mentions of espresso martinis and other alcoholic beverages. Truly lots of options. The space inside is quite small so if it gets busy I assume the line would be outside quite quickly. They did have some chairs outside to enjoy the summer weather with your food or drink of choice. My wife and I both wanted to try one of their flavored coffee/latte drinks. Some of them being Campfire (s'mores), White Mountain (white mocha and lavender), Lavender Matcha. All of the options plus more sounded tempting. We did settle on White Mountain for my wife while I chose the French Toast. The restaurant was busy and it was obvious the staff was running around. The young lady took the check and once she gave it back to them the husband instantly said "you guys have an attitude" she justified that she was upset that he assumed they would put dirty silverware onto a clean table. He still argued with her and she obviously was upset. Everything in that review is false. It was a misunderstanding. We go into Zoey's regularly and the staff is always welcoming and nice. The two young ladies are always running around and I've never once seen them be unsanitary.
