We met with a handful of companies and right off the bat - they were nixed (1) unwilling to give me model information of what they were selling me (2) only willing to work with me if my husband was around - the house is mine and mine alone so wtf does that matter? (3) disappeared off the face of the earth John was awesome! Gave us a bid on the spot. His solution made the most sense as he was willing to hide the lines whereas others wanted to take the fast route by running pipes along the side of the house. His pricing is very reasonable - he didn't try to upsell us a bunch of things we didn't need. He was also mindful to be clean. He took the time to explain everything. Also - the system he suggested took a very small footprint in our garage. We had talked to so many other vendors that expected us to clear up 3x more space. Pleasant surprise. Seriously the nicest person ever. His team member was also very pleasant. Everyone wore booties inside the house. I could not ask for a better vendor to help us with crossing this big todo off my list. read more

I had a new washer dryer installed a couple days ago. Install folks stated I needed new valves as they were corroded. Sent over pictures, and indeed it was checking out worthy. Guys came today. Super honest, told me not corroded just older. No replacement of valves needed. These heroes put the new lines in from the washer, checked the dryer, and charged me fairly given the tie spent. I'd recommend them for work and second opinions! read more

Apparently, John sold the company and that is too bad. He put in a new water heater and RO system for us a couple years ago and was always responsive. I called last week and explained that I needed a new water softener and whole home water filtration system and they said they would have someone call us back. A week later and we never heard back. I called another company (H2O To Go) and they had the someone out the next day for a quote. Two business days later the job was done. We replaced the RO system as well since we doubt Colburn will be reliable. read more

When they first installed the water softener, whole house system, and reverse osmosis, it was expensive but I felt I was getting good service, value, and products. The following year or two, a tech came out to service the system but really, all he did was change the filters under the sink. When I asked him to look at the whole house filtration system in the garage to make sure it was working OK, he said, 'we don't really do that.' I guess I don't understand, then what is the point of a supposed annual service? Several months ago, someone came out to again change out the filters because it had been two years, (they're supposed to be changed every year), and I was told they no longer make this product and he couldn't find the replacement filters anywhere. We searched online and worked with a company that was able to send the filters from Canada for under $300. it did take a little bit of going back-and-forth because we initially ordered the wrong filters, but this company picked up on it, corrected us, and within a few weeks, we had the shipment. So my boyfriend went ahead and changed them. I don't think Colburn tried very hard to figure out how to get these filters. It just seemed a lot easier to say the system is no longer made and to try to sell me another one that was going to be several hundred dollars. That was disappointing. read more

My water softener started leaking in the middle of a night flooding garage and a room behind connecting wall. The company representative, Alex responded the very next day. I was suggested to replace that one leaking piece or replace the whole unit. The leaking piece has been ordered and replaced shortly by a plumber Daniel in an urgent manner. He made sure there are no leaks and left the premise cleaner than he found it. Highly recommend! read more

I had Colburn Enterprises come out to replace my dated water softener. I had their 785uf brand installed on November 2015, so unfortunately I am out of their 1 year warranty. January 30th, my water softener isn't spraying/leaking water everywhere and I didn't notice because it happened when the water softener was set to recycle at 3am every morning. I called Colburn Enterprises to quote a repair a day they said $90 to come out and look at it (just for labor, not materials). The issue was a cracked tube, so pretty much a minor fix... I ended up hiring a licensed and bonded handyman that charged me $50 for labor and parts... and he notified me that whoever (Colburn Enterprises) installed the tube did so incorrectly.... they just JAMMED the tube on which started a minor crack... which over time gets bigger and bigger. The correct procedure is to HEAT up the tube then install the tube after it expands.... This ended up costing me not only $50, but also water damage to my garage floor. Needed to have a reverse osmosis system installed and was quoted a very reasonable price that included drilling a hole into our metal sink. I like that they also didn't try to sell me on a different RO system. John was on time and they give a 2 hour window versus some companies give a 4 hour window. He took the time to explain how to get the system started and maintenance required. The communication with the office to schedule the appointment was effortless. Will definitely be saving their number for future plumbing/water issues. FYI for those needed a hole drilled in granite, they also have a person that can do that for you as well. read more

I should have written this review months ago....... I have used Colburn Enterprises for four different jobs, and whenever I need a plumber.... this will be my first call! I found them on Yelp of course..... First service call was for my water softener, it was leaking in my garage and even though it was late on a Friday... they came right out to stop the leak! I then had John replace my home water filtration system that hadn't worked properly in a while, but I had been procrastinating getting fixed. I also had John install a new sink and faucet in my kitchen....... loved it so much that I had him install a new faucet at my daughter's house too. Ok ... so my review may be a bit different. I didn't ACTUALLY have them fix/do anything. I set up an appointment to come out and give me an estimate on a new water heater and a whole home filtration system. The first thing he asked was "What was my problem? What was I trying to fix?" As we talked about what I perceived were problems, he explained what my options were and actually recommended me doing nothing at this time. In the end, he left without doing any work for me. He also explained how I can fix my existing RO system on my kitchen sink and that right now my water heater doesn't really need to be replaced. He sought to figure out what I needed ... not what I thought I wanted ... and today, that was friendly conversation and some education. I, like most people I would imagine, strive to find businesses who are honest, upfront, and provide a quality service. What I often find are businesses who are trying to scrounge every nickel they can get for shoddy work, or work that doesn't even need to be done. I get excited when I find businesses that I can trust. And while i didn't have any work done this time ... I now have a plumber! read more

Here's the deal...before you schedule, ask questions. Don't be that person to write a review, complain and give 1-2 stars because you don't know how to ask questions before scheduling. They are going to charge $90 to come out. Yeah, free estimates, but you're still paying $90 for them come out as a "service call fee". Mark (the guy who serviced my order) was super nice. He looking at my kitchen sink water leak, tightened the faucet and TARAAAAAAAA! Fixed! 30 seconds. Ugh. ‍ Was that expensive? Uh, yes. Were they quick to respond to my service call? Yes. Do I feel stupid? Yes. Would I use them again? probably. Depends how desperate I am. Bottom line is; gas is expensive and so is everyone's time. John Huddleston came by this morning (08/26/2020) as scheduled to rebuild my 5600 me 844 fleck water softener which Colburn Enterprises had originally installed in 2006. After also inquiring about possibly purchasing a new unit, the rebuild turned out to be the way to go at a cost of $600.00 versus $1200.00, especially since this mechanical water softener was still going strong after 14 years of problem-free use (no repairs ever). This service not only included replacing the resin bed, but also replacement of all pertinent water softener parts subject to wear and tear over the years. John is a very knowledgeable and efficient professional who clearly knows what he is doing and gets the job done quickly and correctly. I also had two Moen cartridges (one faucet and one shower at $32.00 each plus sales tax) replaced at the same time. The overall excellent service provided in a very friendly and informative manner reminded me of why I had originally chosen this company to install this water softener many years ago. I will be using their services again in the future should any unanticipated plumbing problems arise. Perhaps you should consider giving this company, which has been in business for 30 years, a try too? UPDATE John made a return trip on 09/02/2020 to repair my kitchen faucet for which he didn't have the correct Moen cartridge on 08/26/2020. There was no service call charge for this, just the $32.00 cartridge replacement fee plus sales tax. Now that's great service! read more

I contacted Colburn Enterprises to re-install all our sink faucets which were removed when we replaced all our bathroom counter tops and replace a leaking hose bib. I called Colburn and Amber, one of the owners, actually answered the phone and took my call despite being very busy with numerous service calls. I explained our situation with Amber and she was able to get us an appointment for later in the day. Mark showed up on time and got right to work. Our counter top installation was not complete in time for Mark to complete his work so we were able to schedule the remaining plumbing work for the next day. The following day, John the other owner, showed up to complete the job. John was very knowledgeable and professional. John had the job (installation of 6 faucets) done in a couple of hours. His price was very competitive and reasonable. The quality of the work was excellent and very clean. One of the things that impressed me about Colburn Enterprises was they treated my service call as if it was the most important one they had. We have had service performed on our properties over the years and found Colburn Enterprises to be the best. Being a General Contractor whom has worked with many plumbers over the years , that says a lot. There was no doubt we will call Colburn Enterprises for all our plumbing needs in the future. I noticed our laminate floor was soaking wet and the source was from the kitchen but couldn't figure out exactly what broke. I shut off the water valve and called a few plumber companies. Colburn was the only one who made time to come out (most likely after hours) and helped me with the leak. John was very helpful, told me exactly what happened while taught me a few things about plumbing. He came back the next day and fix the garbage disposal and didn't charge me for it. I have dealt with many companies here in Vegas where if they sense you know nothing about the issue and you desperately need it fix, they will take advantage and charge you as if it's a prison bail (like a mechanic). We had Colburn come out as we were in the middle of a remodel. We had so much to do and the contractor's plumber was so slow and connected our shower hot and cold backwards. Colburn to the rescue! We let the contractor go and took over the project. We had Colburn take care of the remaining plumbing issues and check all the work from the previous plumber. After messaging a bunch of contractors looking for a Water Softener system and a Water Heater install, only Colburn got back to me promptly and with a solid quote- everyone else either gave me the run around or couldn't do one or the other. Once on site, I was incredibly impressed with not only the quality of Colburn's work, but also the extra mile he went by cleaning his work area back to spotless and installing a spigot off the water softener so I could wash my cars with soft water even though I hadn't asked for it. An extremely nice touch. The install job was also super clean- the sweats were perfect, no scorch marks anywhere, it looked better than almost any plumbing job i've ever seen- and i've been in the construction industry my entire life. John did an excellent job repairing the plumbing problems and he found and fixed issues we were unaware of and that had not been found during the home inspection. John told me that if I went and purchased the parts for certain things that needed to be fixed (he gave me a list of what to buy) that it would save me money. I bought the items and he came back the following day to install them. He really went the extra mile for me, which in Vegas is a rare thing when dealing with businesses. I Called Colburn Enterprises again to take a look at my guest bathroom. My water bill was higher this month from what I am assuming is from a leak in the guest shower. The staff at Colburn are very helpful. When the plumber arrived he took the time to say hello to my dog and make a new friend. I asked for the cartridge to be replaced and the drain cleaned out. The plumber replaced the cartridge in my shower solving my dripping problem and then took a look at the drain. While the plumber was there he did not experience any problems with the drain. He tried to get the tub to back up, but it drained just fine. He told us that whatever we did with the plunger solved the problem. This is not the same company that ive been using for 15 years. i called to make an appointment, left message numerous times, finally got a text, there on vacation, then they texted there recording not working, then text going through new ownership finally got appt through a text and nobody showed up. waited 2 hrs. no call no show,,i sent a text if somebody can call me and nobody got back to me. Beyond excellent. The company is so organized and their confirmation system is fantastic. They were a reference from Done Right Plumbing bc DRP doesn't do RO Systems. VERY courteous office staff. Technician was on time, very professional and really knows his profession. John is an EXPERT diagnostician and VERY knowledgeable. If he can't fix it no one can. Impressive. I also had a leak in my 10yo pot-filler over the stove. He took it apart and I needed all new O-rings. I called the manufacturing company and they no longer make parts for that model. Contacted Amber to request a quote. Was given a quote for $270 to install a Aquasana Water Purification System and a Fleck 7000 Water Softener. Seemed like a real good deal. Installer came by and first thing he did was call Amber to ask if she knew he was installing more than the water softener. She said yes and it was okay. Installer said that he needed some extra parts and left. 2 hours later, installer comes back and the parts are the wrong size. He states he will come the next day. Next day he returns and installs everything. Charges be close to $450 which includes the original $270. Apparently a few pipes cost almost $200. Next day I notice the pipes leaking. These are PVC pipes, ones that manufactured recommended not be used. I call Amber and tell her what happened. She sets up an appointment for him to come by same day. Meanwhile, I have to run for a quick errand for about 30 minutes. I figure the installer will be 30 minutes late or so because of traffic. However, he shows up on time and I'm not there. Amber calls me and is rude, telling me that I need to be there or call them first. I tell Amber that they are the ones that did the install incorrectly and should have been done right the first time. Amber pops a bigger attitude. I manage to return home in 15 minutes and installer is not there. He does not show up for another 30 minutes. When he comes by he replaces the PVC pipes with metal ones and everything is running fine. 3 Stars due to: 1) The high price charged 2) Attitude of Amber 3) Leaking after the install 4) Use of PVC for something that wasn't supposed to be PVC Would I recommend, NO! Other, better businesses out there. Oh and the install doesn't even look good. I have to rest my filter on a bunch of bricks because it couldn't be mounted to the wall. read more

If I could give more stars to this company I would!!! I needed a new kitchen faucet to replace my old one that was older, outdated, and breaking off pieces of metal on the inside of it . I called Colburn yesterday 11/20 and they said that they could come by in the morning. The lady who answered the phone was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions thoroughly. Today, 11/21 John came by my house right at the estimated time. He was knowledgeable and efficient. Right away I noticed he had on shoe covers! As a family with kids we do not wear shoes in our house. So when John showed up already respecting the home we live in by wearing shoe covers I was really won over. The whole thing took approximately 30 minutes. He answered all of my questions. And showed me how to operate my new faucet as well as gave me helpful advice to keep my other related appliances in tip top shape. Also HUGE POINTS for leaving everything clean afterwards and no mess. I was really impressed that he left the area he was working on as clean as before he came in.
