Great service and food . Decent historical building with comfortable booths.. we tried the batter fried mushrooms which were tasty.. chicken salad sandwich with sweet potato fries were just right for a lighter lunch. Nice historical building ambience

Check out the amount of chicken in my $20 chicken alfredo. That's right -- a whole four bites.

Another Great Restaurant in Downtown Owensboro !!! I had heard about Colby's and always wanted to try it. I finally had an extra night in which I had the opportunity to try Colby's and went there for dinner. Colby's has been around since 1987 and is a staple in Owensboro. Their menu has many comfort foods, American Classics, Bourbons, Cocktails, some craft beers and a whole lot more. On my visit, I tried 3 dishes and a 'Wheat' Bourbin from a local distillery. First up was a glass of Green River Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon which set the course for my meal. My first choice of the evening was Colby's Classic Shrimp Louisianne which was Six large shrimp sautéed in cajun butter and served sizzling hot in a skillet with a side of Cheesy Garlic Bread. The shrimp were plump, juicy and full of flavour and a great starter. Next up was Colby's take on New Orleans Gumbo made with a blend of shrimp, scallops, chicken, onions, peppers, andouille sausage and rice. The 'cup' size was almost a meal itself with big chunks of andouille sausage and a palatable spice level. For my main course, I had the 8oz center-cut aged filet mignon served medium-rare with sides of mashed potatoes, brown gravy, sauteed mushrooms and veggies. The streak was a little overcooked but tender enough to be able to enjoy. The servers and the food were really good and I see why people flock to Colby's after all these years. Another great place to try when you are in the Owensboro area.

Delicious food, fast friendly service and cozy ambiance in the historic district. The staff was great. We had a party of 12 and had great service on a busy Friday night If you arrive between 4-6 they offer early supper specials. We had the prime rib with baked potato and broccoli for $19.99 The serving of prime rib was a generous 8oz portion and we had to get a take out box! The drink and a desert was included in the special. We had three prime rib specials and two apps and our bill was just $70!!!Great place to gather with friends. .

Love this place. Crab dip is killer. The pork chops are amazing and the Long Island Iced Tea is unforgettable.

I wanted to try the Smoked Burger but they are not carrying it anymore, so I had the Classic Cheeseburger. It's a thin patty, well seasoned and delicious. The Cole Slaw I ordered had a weird taste so I didn't eat it. Overall, this is a cool place with some nice artwork by local artists.

I called ahead to be sure there was no wait. Beautiful building and vibe but not very crowded for a Saturday night. Was waited on my a wonderful young server by the name of Shelly. Pleasant , great attitude and welcoming when I asked questions about the menu. Now the food was the big issue here. Selected the Black and Brew burger which was describe as having two patties. Yes there were two but doubtful they were the 6 oz each as listed. The brew cheese sauce was very runny and caused the buns to fall apart when I picked it up. Burger was very well done as well. Side of sweet potato waffle fries were placed in a small dish barely allowing for a small handful. Pickles on the burger were an up charge. Definitely did not curb the burger craving. I pushed my reservations aside and ordered the dessert. Went with a slice of strawberry cheese cake. Server said they did not have any last time it was ordered but she would check. Viola! Came back with a slice.. though it was missing the strawberries. Away she went and returned with only a strawberry sauce. At this point I'm all in so I drizzled the sauce over the slice. Went to cut into it only to find the gorgeous looking slice was frozen solid. Ugggg . Walked it to the bar and asked for my check and explained the slice issue. This place has so much potential but is utterly failing on the food side.
