Located in the Burke Centre Shopping Center. Parking available in public parking lot. Small space with some counter ledge seating and 2 tables. The employees were friendly. My friend got the "hot for cookie" which is a warm chocolate chip cookie and cookie dough with ice cream. I got the Reese's Peanut Butter Awesome Sauce in a small or "I Like It" size and it was very good and fulfilled my sweet tooth, I couldn't even finish it. On the wall, it states it was $5.99 but it cost me $6.99 at the register without tax. So, that was a bit of a bummer but I didn't say anything. read more

First off extremely kind employees! They definitely get an A plus for what they do. This is a busy place. Occasionally I'm forced to deal with the ice cream addiction. Having another birthday cake yesterday, it was pretty good. I can't prove it, but seems they changed their ice cream formula. It used to be more fresh, but that's up to someone on a higher pay scale to figure out. In my opinion for whatever it's worth, good but not great! When paying these prices, I expect more. Inflation has hit them too, but just would like some changes. As for the store itself, try to get a chair or seat. It is immensely popular. The place itself is very clean. I think they made a good decision with the wall chairs. They are comfortable, although it's difficult to relax with lots of people around. Then again join in on the fun. Their own website dates that this location is open until 8:00 pm on Sundays. A SIGN POSTED ON THE FRONT DOOR OF THE STORE SAYS THAT THIS LOCATION IS OPEN UNTIL 8:00 PM ON SUNDAYS. Yet when I arrived there with my family at 7:03 pm last night (Sunday, March 5), the doors were locked and the crew was mopping the floor. I want to add to this that, after I left a message with this store about the problem described above, the owner called me directly to apologize. I ordered ice cream cupcakes for Father's Day. Red velvet, and signature chocolate one. 6 for $16.99 and boy were they small. I wasn't excepting it to be that small and not presentable. It didn't look anything like the picture that they advertise online. It was so dull and boring. Regret paying that much for it but I guess good way to find out if it was worth it and it's not. Taste of the actual cupcake was not that impressive either. Had to ring the bell several times for someone to come out of the back and he was little rude. I politely asked her to remove it and from then on she was having a fit. RUDE customer service and OVERPRICED My husband and 5 year-old son went to the Burke Cold Stone on 5/15/2013 to buy an ice cream birthday cake for me. As they were just beginning to look at the different ice cream cake types in the case (with the door open to see better), the manager/owner lady began asking my husband what he was doing, if he needed help and so on. He told her he didn't need help and that he was looking. She proceeded to stand extremely close to him and wouldn't move so he could shop. Again, he told her he didn't need help, she stood there anyway. As he was trying to see the different cake types and flavors, she told him the cakes will melt if the door remains open and proceeded closed the door to the freezer case he was looking in. My husband stopped looking and told her (in front of our son and the other customers) that he was not going to give rude people his business and that he would buy a cake elsewhere. He and our son left and 2 other customers followed. One of the customers (who left behind him) told him the manager/owner is always like that. Immediately following that, my husband went to Dairy Queen, received MUCH better customer service, a nice looking and delicious ice cream cake for a fraction of the price. We have been to other Cold Stones and neither of us has never been treated that way. After today, I doubt we'll return to overpriced Cold Stone - and without a doubt, we will not ever be in the Burke Cold Stone Creamery. A love it sized milkshake at this location costs $7.89 before tax. The same exact milkshake in the same size and flavor costs $6.50 before tax at the fair oaks mall coldstone location. I ordered a cake batter flavored milkshake here, it is supposed to come with yellow cake pieces blended with cake batter ice cream. I did not see, feel, or taste any yellow cake pieces. The ice cream shake was thick as most ice cream shakes should be, however it was very difficult to drink it because the straw they give you is the same type of straw used for drinking soda (narrow opening). They did not have the larger types of straws used for shakes or bubble tea. I would avoid this location because it makes no sense for this coldstone to have prices 20% higher than other coldstones only 5 miles away from this one. The burke center area is not anywhere near as nice as the fair oaks mall or fairfax corner area. Yet even in the mall location, the shakes are only $6.50 for the love it size. You will get screwed over with pricing at this location, I can't imagine what the differences would be with larger orders like cakes. I was also here two years back and they would not accept gift cards as a form of payment- the cashier told me they can't accept gift cards as payment but then told me she can make a one time "exception" for me and allowed me to use my gift card while pretending she was doing me a large favor and "bending the rules" for me or something. I have consistently had a bad experience with this location and made the mistake of coming here to try an ice cream shake. If I knew beforehand that the fair oaks location has prices 20-30% lower than this location, I would have simply gone there instead. I wanted to try a coldstone shake and assumed that within the same city or state, the prices would be similar give or take a few cents. The ice cream is decent, but to be honest, ben and jerrys, haagen dazs, graeters, and other premium grocery store brands are actually better, and taste every bit as fresh as this one. I am certain they are not making this ice cream fresh daily as they are claiming, they are making it fresh weekly. The other reviews mentioning this location reusing old ice cream are likely correct. I don't think they recycle ice cream from the garbage or anything like that, but it does seem like they make each batch/flavor of ice cream, and then keep using that batch until it sells. I went there on a friday evening and most of the flavors were mostly filled up. You can tell when ice cream was made fresh on the same morning. Considering their prices are $7.89 for something you can get for $6.50 at a nice mall location, chances are they are not going to be throwing out old ice cream and making new batches here daily. read more

What can I say? I miss the good old times when you walk in and the staff greets you with cheerful smile, and as annoying as it might be sometimes, I miss them singing. Whatever happened to that? I remember getting large servings for such a low price... I used to love getting root beer float before they discontinued... I feel like ColdStone isn't what it used to be. I went in a week before my daughter's third birthday and asked for a small rectangle cake that had yellow cake with sweet cream icing and fudge mix in. I specified we would pick up the cake on Saturday, May 20 at 12 pm. I asked for a copy of the order form, but was told I didn't need one. I almost didn't get a receipt either. Fast forward one week later and my husband goes to pick up the cake on the specified date at the specified time and was told it's not ready. The order was written for Sunday, May 21 to be picked up at 12 pm. Also, it was for a yellow cake with strawberry icing. I was pissed when he called me to deliver the news. In our family, having a birthday cake is a big deal. I called the store and asked to speak to the owner. I explained the situation to her and said I was upset and needed to know what she would do to fix it. Essentially she told me it was my fault for giving the wrong day and wrong ice cream flavor, that her worker was a responsible girl and wouldn't mess it up. I'm like, how would I mess up the date when it's the day after I gave birth to this child??? She said they get 1000's of orders of cake and never gets one complaint. I said that's not going to work. She should refund me the money for the cake and deliver it to me. She told me my options were to come pick it up at 2:30 pm, a half hour prior to the party starting, or to cancel the order and not have a cake. I went off saying her store had less than three stars in reviews on Yelp, and I went out on a limb to go to that store and I did everything I was supposed to to ensure the order was correct. At that point she handed the phone over to another employee saying she couldn't talk to me. I explicitly asked for the owner to get back on the phone as I felt the store messed up big time and she needed to own that and come to a resolution with me, a livid customer. She then brought up that the girl called me during the week to ensure the order was still to be bought. When the girl called, she said, "I'm making sure you're still going to get your cake this weekend." I said yes, I'm picking it up Saturday at 12 pm, and that was the end of that conversation. So, yes, I acknowledge that happened and that was great on their part. What the resolution finally came to was that she would take a cake out of the freezer, write a generic message on it and deliver it to my house. She also refunded me $4 for the mix-in since the cake in the freezer didn't have that. At that point I was primarily focused on the timing and trying to ensure we were ready for the party and to greet our family and guests with a cake, so I agreed to that. I realize my terrible experience may not change your mind about going there, but what I would like to pass along is that if you do go, ensure you get a copy of the order form and are very explicit with your directions. They'll probably mess it up and blame it on you, but hey - can't say you weren't warned. :) read more

Yummy yummy yummy :) We mixed the Dark Chocolate and French Vanilla ice cream with walnuts and I spent a satisfied night curled up with a red box from right outside. The service was a bit too attentive. The little girl stared at us kind of intensely while we decided. I don't think I'll be back for a while. It's quite expensive. Bought a Cake for my daughters 16th birthday. Selected to custom build so we could have 3 mix ins.... bought the cookie dough cake and was so disappointed in how little cookie dough there was in the ice cream portion ...shockingly little cookie dough! Several pieces of the cake had zero cookie dough. I had specifically called ahead you make sure the custom cake would have more cookie dough than regular cake... huge disappointment! I love Cold Stone, but when I arrive at 9:24 on a Sunday night and the location closest to me closes at 9:30, I'm extremely disappointed when I can't get any ice cream. I walked up to the doors and tried to open them but they were already locked and the employee inside shook her head at me as I pointed to the times posted on the window. If you're going to stay open until 9:30, I would like to be able to get my ice cream up until that time. I believe that 6 minutes is more than enough time to get 1 bowl of ice cream. read more

The ice cream is ok, but the service is awful. I went this evening with my family and my in-laws - 5 of us total. We waited in line and then when it was our turn they assigned one server to us while the other two servers began serving the people who were behind us in line. The result was that people who came in long after us were served before us, and the first people in our party to be served were finished with their ice cream before the last were served. While I and my family love this ice cream, this location has recently had some problems with online ordering. The last two times we have done online ordering, there have been issues. They will frequently confuse the mix-ins and sizes between orders, and have unfortunately forgotten to include our waffle bowls and additional mix-ins. The employees are friendly and the ice cream is wonderful, but the online ordering needs to be properly addressed so that errors are not made. I will start off by saying the the ice cream is very good, however there is a central problem which makes me want to never go to this store unless I really need to satisfy an ice cream craving. The employees that are working there always seem very nice and helpful, however the big problem is the owner. On occasion I have gone into the store for ice cream and he was the only one there so he served me. He is extremely rude to both customers and employees. There are times when I have gone into the store and I've actually witnessed him yelling at an employee right in front of the customers for simply being a little off on portioning. I've also heard him yelling at employees so loudly that I could hear him in the back while I was sitting all the way up front. The store was clean & we were greeted when we came in... from there, all down hill The girl had no problems giving me samples, and being my undeciscive self, we let some other parties go in front of us so the guy started helping us. He has the personality of a broom stick. I settled on old faithful, Raspberry sherbet with cocoanut and hubby got the new Apple Pie A La Mode. My mis in was dumped and not mixed, my cup not runneth over, like I am used to, and hubby asked about the caramel sauce and the employee curtly told us that is was not caramel sauce, it was an apple pie sauce that was "by the recipe that his manager gives him and he can't do anything about it" So... curse us for question one.... This thing is also VERY SMALL... so if you don't have a problem with all things tiny... carry on... Then, we get an individual ice crean to go and get to the register, he hands us a receipt to sign, hubby asks about signing, because it is abnormal for under $25 to sign... and he states... in quite an firm voice... "This is a legal and binding contract between you and our company allowing us to debit the money from your bank account so it does in fact need your legal signature!" Whoa little lawyer to be on our hands here... Daddy must be a judge or something.... So we took our over priced ice cream and ate it at home... and they didn't even say have a nice night! This is the worst Cold Stone I have been to. The kids working in here, and I mean kids had the personallity of a stale cracker. They were polite, but oh my do they need to loosen up a bit and relax. That being said, I ordered some apple pie a la mode item they had and although delicious, I received the tiny little apple pie topped with the smallest scoop of ice cream I think I have ever received. This item was $6 and was tiny. Although Cold Stone is deliciousness in a cup (or cone), it has become so over priced I do not forsee myself returning.
