This location is very nice and well kept, however I wouldn't recommend anything else except their ice cream. Their "molten lava cake" was merely just cake and definitely not what they advertised. It was not warm even after a second time of being warmed up. The staff was very kind though and tried to help their best to make it better. read more

We ordered a custom cake for my brother's birthday that was incredibly disappointing. First, we couldn't pay online with a gift card, so I called and the person I spoke to said we'd have to order in person. Unfortunately I don't live close to this location, so that wasn't an option. I called back the next day, and a different girl took the order and said we could pay at pickup, which was great. The cake looked fine, but there were barely any mix-ins. We ordered three- M&Ms, Oreo Cookies, and Kit Kats. We cut half the cake and everyone noticed how it was almost plain mint ice cream. Each slice was 1/6 of the cake. Mine had ONE little M&M as did my brother's slice. There was one or two small pieces of Kit Kat and no Oreo that anyone could notice. Normally I wouldn't care, but when you pay $30 for an ice cream cake you expect better. I called to leave feedback and the "cake decorator" called back two days later. She told me she "specifically remembered making that cake" and she had put in all the mix-ins. She tried to tell me that sometimes more of the toppings end up on one side of the cake vs the other. She offered to give my brother "a cupcake" the next time we go to the store. When we cut the rest of the cake- guess what? NO mix-ins. Next time we want an ice-cream cake we'll just get a cheap Carvel one from the grocery store rather than get ripped off here. read more

I like their ice cream. It's a Franchise yet the prices are higher although it is just Burke not downtown DC or inside a stadium. Weird!!!

Let's be clear: this place is not for folks who just want an ice cream cone on a hot day. It is all gimmick and little payoff. It was a hot day and I felt like getting an ice cream cone for my walk home. I went in and immediately was confused by the high prices (the small size was over $4), but I was already there so I figured what the heck.I asked for a small ice cream with a regular cone and sprinkles (the sign said waffle cones were an extra dollar and I didn't want a waffle cone anyway). When I got my ice cream it was in a waffle cone and the sprinkles were mixed into the ice cream instead of on top (not my choice, but I realized that's how they do things here). When the cashier rung it up my total was $5.80 which surprised me as the sign said $4 and some change for a small. I asked her about it and she said the cone was extra. Apparently they have no regular sized cones, only waffle cones for which they make you pay extra. She included a spoon, the reason for that was apparent when I realized the ice cream was impossible to eat without it. The whole point of the cone was so that I WOULDN'T have to use a spoon. (Also, I saw a kid with the small cup size that you would pay $4+ for and was frankly appalled that they could get away with charging so much for so little. Complete ripoff.) Long story short, the ice cream was sickeningly sweet, the sprinkles blended in so much you couldn't even tell they were there, the cone disintegrated quickly leaving a drippy, sticky mess. This was 100% not the experience I wanted...and I paid almost $6 for it. Will not be back. read more

26 July 2016 - Sick of DNC so we went out for Ice Cream at Cold Stone Creamery, Restaurant #22151, (703) 250-3002, 5705 Burke Centre Parkway, Burke VA 22015. It is at BURKE CENTRE PKWY & OX ROAD in the BURKE CENTRE SHOPPING CENTER. It is just a chain ice cream store in a strip shopping center. They have very good ice cream. Lots of flavors. The girls at the counter provided excellent service with the smile. They gave samples for taste testing. There was a small area for small table and chairs to provide seating. Went in at 9:35 when they closed at 10, doors were locked and was not let in. Service is awful and ice cream is overpriced.

I used to work here. I saw some other reviews about shady business practices and how the owner runs the place. Most of them seem to be true. I saw a review suggesting that the owner has his staff clean out and reuse spoons and bowls and give them back to customers. This is true. I can also speak first hand towards the owner abusing his employees. I was verbally abused on a weekly basis. When I worked there I thought this was normal (it was my first job) but these poor kids that he hires are bullied and manipulated both in the back area and in front of the customers. I have a very close friend whose sister worked there for a short time. I didn't see this happen, but apparently when she was being yelled at he grabbed her and left marks on her arm. She quit immediately after this. The cleaning in this place was sketchy too. The manager would demand that we use minimal cleaning supplies when mopping, wiping counters, etc. This place is filthy. I would strongly recommend going to the frozen yogurt place in the same shopping center or the DQ down the street rather than this place. read more

I will give it two stars because the ice cream was as great as you'd come to expect at Stone Cold. However the service was lazy, and really below standards. They mixed my order lazy, and really screwed up the special order. This is based on how I've received the same order at many other locations. I'm normally not this picky on ice cream, but if I'm going to drop $20 on an ice cream outting, I do expect some elbow grease to earn the money. So far so good. I have also bought ice cream cakes (with the red velvet cakes) from here and brought them as a gift to different parties. Also I have tried a variety of flavors, although I stick to my traditional strawberry with strawberries inside. The quality of the ice creams have so far been excellent. read more
