Delicious ice cream and service. I got a Cold Stone gift card for my 18th birthday and was really happy. This has been a go-to ice cream spot for my family because of the large scoops and great selection of toppings. My favorite is the "Like It" size of chocolate ice cream with Oreos. The staff crush up 2 Oreo cookies and then mix it into the ice cream. If you put money in the tip jar, the staff sing a song, which gives the place a really cheerful vibe. I love Cold Stone. Overpriced, ice creamy goodness. And I mean this is in a good way. And I've been to Cold Stone in Germantown enough to know what I love and what to order. What I wish this location had was a smile. Customer service. Politeness. Something. I went in and got a surly teenager who could barely ask me what I wanted. I ordered and was rushed through. A couple came in behind me and they were treated with smiles and politeness. And I was a little sad because it was the pervasive Kentlands double-standard. The businesses want your money, service with a smile is extra if you "look" like you're upper middle class. I guess I didn't "look" upper class enough. Overpriced as always, but then that's just Cold Stone. I wasn't very happy that we my friend and I came in, we were just stared at and then told to hold on a second. But the every other person who came in behind us got a "Hi! Welcome to Cold Stone!" They were perfectly courteous to us once we ordered something and everything else went fine. The table we sat at was sticky and disgusting. And while we were still sitting at the table outside, the employee decides it's the perfect time to come outside and put all the umbrellas down. I have ordered ice cream cakes 3 times at cold stone kentlands 3 times, I always order online 2-6 days ahead of time, however, I can never get the cake on time. My scheduled pick up time today is 1145am, got phone call from them at 1120am asking me if I can come at 12noon because they open at 12, not 11am as what it says online or at their front door print. I placed the order days ago, why you can not tell me earlier? They explained that they just saw the order today, they had a new owner months ago, change the open hour long time ago, but have not change the ads yet??? By 12noon, they still can not get my cake ready, have to give up the cake I ordered. I will never come back. poor management, please do not serve customer when you are not ready! read more

banana caramel crunch, no caramel, extra banana and almonds my fav! my fam loves this so we get the huge one to take home soooo good! when we first ordered this we had no problem with the ice cream getting too hard but the past several months we have had a problem. i dont know why cus we always order the same thing. our ice cream gets soooo hard we can't even scoop it out that we end up throwing it away sometimes. now we just go once in awhile when we really crave it and get a smaller container that we can eat right away. and we dont like doing that cus sometimes it melts a lot.. :( dilemma.. read more

Walked over from Lowe's on July 4th. I ordered two scoops; mint and coffee in a waffle bowl. The coffee flavor was so mild I thought they gave me vanilla. The mint had a faint taste of mint, but it was green so I knew it was mint. Not impressed. I'll go to Giant and buy a half gallon of either ice cream before I will eat at Coldstone again. read more

I took the family to Cold Stone in Kentlands last weekend to cool off from the hot day. We all got one of the Signature flavors. They make it on the spot while you wait which is cool but there's one problem. They mix the ingredients on a "cold stone" and if the place is busy, the employees rush through the process and half your ice cream order is melted. It was like eating a milkshake with a spoon. Not good. It's disappointing that this place has a good product but the process of mixing the ingredients into the ice cream is lacking. I'll go to Baskin Robbins from now on. this location is probably the friendliest cold stone I've gone too, although it's a bit pricey the staff is very welcomed. I asked for extra sprinkles and she was kind enough to put them in a extra cup lol :) will definitely be coming back! read more

pretty crappy ice cream to begin with. add in a grumpy service, and why should we return? one lady was very nice, but the other really hated being there that night. I get it, its a 95 degree day, summer, super busy all day, and its 9pm. but you gotta show a smile.... oh and the ice cream was melting FAST - it looked gloopy, wet, not very appetizing - if the ice cream were about 10 degrees cooler, it would hold shape and showcase the goods much better read more

DISGUSTING!!! I bought an ice cream cake for my husbands birthday and paid tip before picking it up. When I arrived, I saw the girl making waffles. She served herself ice cream, some fell on her gloved hand and she licked it up and continued to touch everything, including the waffles cones she was making. I'd do a ZERO stars if possible. While standing in line to pay and waiting for our last cold stone order to be made one staff member started to vacuum the floor. I was slightly surprised but not too bothered until she picked the vacuum hose up from the ground and ran it along side the slab. Yes that's right the same slab my ice cream was being mixed. Then proceeded to take the hose over my ice cream and vacuum the side of the slab. Yes the hose went from the ground along my food and then over it. I then said you realize you just used that on the floor and now the counter where he's mixing my ice cream. That is so gross. Needless to say I did not take it home. This cold stone needs a health inspection cause this broke every rule in the book. read more

I came into the store today at 4 to get ice cream with my granddaughter. I ordered a hot fudge sundae and asked for banana's to be added. The girl that served me had a hard time putting it together. I had to keep telling her how to make it. Once my granddaughter and I were finished the young manager ask to speak with me. She told me that her two young employees overheard me say that they were incompetent and overweight. A complete lie. Who do these employee's think they are...I come into the store a lot and can't believe your employees would call me aside to say this stuff. I believe someone higher up needs to teach their staff to be careful on what they say about or to a paying customer. Cold Stone needs to do something about this. I have never had a place of business say anything like this to me. Please let me know that this has been addressed or I will go else where for my ice cream. These young girls acted like they are 12. Hire more mature people. read more
