This is used to be one of our favorite places to grab ice cream. Lately, service is terrible- they rush you, have bad attitudes and frankly don't seem to care. This is the second Sunday in a row I've tried coming back- both were complete busts. Oh well, worse things than not being able to get ice cream. (Seriously, who owns this franchise? i came here with my husband and kids, unfortunately we found a hair in our ice cream. they offered to give us something different which makes sense but switched up when we chose a different ice cream. This place is very unprofessiona and lacks customer service when provided a dirty environment for families to eat at. Estaban provided no help and made us wait to be reserved as others went ahead before us. read more

On our route to LAX, we thought, why not spice up the journey with a bit of ice cream before we head back to Texas. Kelly serviced us. She was super friendly and offered us top-tier service that I still can't stop raving about. Much better than what we experienced at DISNEYLAND!!! It being our first time there, Kelly was patient enough to walk us through the whole process and boy, was it an experience! She even took time to help our little ones who were having quite the hard time deciding what flavors they wanted. Kelly must've explained each flavor at least twice - talk about patience! It was a very hot and humid Labor Day weekend and this was the only closest dessert spot after Long Beach Comic Con. The line was out the door at 830PM since everyone else had the same idea. I think we waited about 20 minutes in line. I ordered the Strawberry Blond without the caramel and whipped topping. I regret paying the extra $1 for that awful stale waffle bowl. i am so upset with the lack of vegan options and they only have sorbets and the lemon one is the only good one is the lemon and they were out my dad died in december and its fathers day i just wanted this food and they told me they had rainbow so i got that and it was just one flavor!! the workers were very nice though. read more

Popped in here on a busy Thursday night. The two guys were hard at work attending the giant line of people forming inside. We decided on something small. Ice cream was great and served really quick. Parking validated here. They'll sing if you tip! Cold stone ice cream is always a good choice. It's nestled right in the middle of the shopping plaza. read more

Good ice cream but staff is a bit skimpy with toppings compared to other Cold Stones. I've been to the Long Beach location 2x,have asked for caramel both times but have not been able to taste it. Staff hustles though & have no complaints in their customer service. read more

I ordered a smoothie that just didn't taste right, it was chunky and all together just bad. My friend got an ice cream that based on what we had heard did not live up to the hype at all. The service was not something I would ever want to come back to, after getting my order wrong she acted like it was somehow my fault. I'm not one to complain but would not recommend. read more

I came here on a Friday evening and while waiting in line, a large fight broke outside of the store. The staff called security and they were asked to lock down their store for 15 minutes. They announced to us all that they're locking the doors and asked if we were all okay with that, which I really appreciated. The situation is being handled in a very mature way, and everyone feels safe. They also made sure to announce to everyone that masks should be worn and to enforce the 6ft of distance rule. I'm super impressed with the staff and of course, the ice cream. read more

This is our go-to for ice ream when ever we head down to the Pike or Shoreline. We've enjoyed this location for years but just recently in the last couple of months we've have had such an unpleasant experience with the staff. In particular a young female who looks to be Latina has such horrible customer service and has a way of making us feel so unwelcome as soon as we step in the shop. I thought that maybe it must have been a bad day for her as we all get them from time to time, but this has been a recurring thing every time we visit Coldstone. I don't tip but it goes beyond that & she probably shouldn't be working at an ice cream store if she doesn't want to be dealing with people. read more

I was very disappointed coming here this evening. My daughters and myself were not greeted when I walked in. Which was odd because Everyone else behind me in groups were greeted. I Tipped regardless because I work in the industry and understand tips are important. They said nothing when we tipped and said something to the gentleman before us. I will not be coming back again, being a chef and in the food industry customer service is imperative and they need training on that for sure. read more

Went out for ice cream on a busy Saturday night. Came across this cold stone and decided to stop in. Line was long and moved very quickly. All of the workers were so sweet and friendly. One even filled me in on a coupon deal! Very great experience. I will absolutely be making this my ice cream go to. read more

I understand why this location has so few stars. We visited on 7/12/18 @ 10:02 pm & Joshua gave us terrible service. He was rude and made comments to us that just ought not to be said to any customer. I called to speak to a manager after our bad experience and no one was available. We won't be returning. I would give 0 stars if that were an option. read more

This Cold Stone is the WORST I have ever been to. There are many things wrong with this establishment, and I plan to go full detail on them so please bare with me. 1) I have been to this Cold stone 3 different times in 3 different time frames, and every time I personally go they have an ice cream flavor missing or a mix missing. It can be the smallest thing. A few months ago was peanuts and just two days ago, no CHOCOLATE, COFFEE, CHEESE CAKE, or MINT ice cream. Really? I know one of these is a very popular option and you're out. 2) Every single time I go to this Cold stone there are employees on break, regardless of the long waiting line. The most upsetting part about this, is that the employees on break walk out and look at the crowd, and then walk right to the back (including the "manager"). I understand you are on break, but why take breaks during busy times? It's already busy because there is a movie theater and shops around, so plan accordingly. 3) Not only is the customer service HORRIBLE, they CHARGE extra for mix in's, which is fine, but insert THE PROPER AMOUNT INTO A LARGE ICE CREAM. You would think that the $10 plus ice cream would be filled with ingredients you picked and PAID for. No here, they questions everything you ask for, and even though you wait 20 plus minutes, they can't give you ANYTHING free or half off, nothing. Just awful. 4) I know this is petty, but the doors say entrance and another says exit, but it's wrong and confusing. You go through the entrance and it's an exit and vise versa. Ultimately, PLEASE GO TO ANOTHER COLD STONE. There is one North on Atlantic ave., and another one in Lakewood, CA which is a few minutes away. There's also one in Cerritos, CA that isn't a long drive. If you MUST AND ABSOLUTELY have ice cream that second (I get it, it happens to me too), then be prepared for an AWFUL experience and DISGRACEFUL customer service. read more

When we arrived to this cold stone the line was very long but we wanted ice cream so we decided to wait. The team was quick and efficient and made the line move very quickly. Hands down WORSE Cold Stone Creamery I've EVER been to. If I could rate NO stars I would...seriously. My coworker and I both order our ice cream. This woman scoops out the ice cream from the bin and puts it in a CUP...SCOOPS OUT ice cream then let's it sit while she goes to make a waffle cone. She tells me to follow her to mix the ice cream, so I do and proceeds to stick the dirty ice cream scoopers full of VANILLA ice cream in my CHOCOLATE ice cream. After I tell her that I dont want vanilla in my CHOCOLATE DEVOTION she scoops partial off and goes to get more chocolate. She's making my ice cream and asks me "ARE YOU SURE YOU'RE NOT ALLERGIC?"...... Are you kidding me? Why would I order if I was allergic? I pay the nice lady and walk out with already melted, sprinkes & vanilla in my chocolate devotion ice cream. Come here if you want Sprinkles in an ice cream order that doesn't have any. read more

A plus about this place is that they can validate your parking! I got the coffee flavor, size "love it" with the waffle bowl. I like how they sorta make the ice cream in front of you. The girl got the coffee flavored ice cream, and mashed it in with the nuts and chocolate. The ice cream itself was already very melted the second I received it. I'm okay with soft serve, but this was liquefying beyond that point even before I paid for it. It tasted good though! I however did not like the waffle bowl. It was bland, and I threw it away once I finished the ice cream. Also a bit strange how there is no indoor seating. hmmf read more

It was our first time at the Pike. It was a nice visit and we were happy to find a Cold Stone Creamery. It was the perfect day for ice cream. Everything was great it was a bit busy in there, but that was understandable on a hot day. We got our ice cream and was enjoying it. Our mood was quickly ruined by what I assume was a misunderstanding. I assume this person was a superior or in charge because she was screaming at the top of her lungs at a poor employee because she "made" a shake incorrectly. The manager then took the shake and threw it. I was disgusted by the way she treated the employee. Mistakes happen. It was uncalled for and unprofessional. I felt uncomfortable and I took my grandkids and left. I hope someone tells corporate because that is not how you should treat another employee or people in general especially in front of customers. Belittling someone does not make a wrong right or solve problems. If there was a problem then it should have been resolved privately. It left a bad taste in my mouth. We love Cold Stone, but will not be returning to this one. It was sad to see. The employee was a trooper and she took the abuse. (Employees should not be treated this way!) read more

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Cold Stone Creamery in Downtown Long Beach, and it was an absolute delight! I opted for the "Like It" size with three blend-in toppings: Heath Bar, cookie dough, and a generous drizzle of caramel. The combination was heavenly--rich, creamy, and perfectly sweet, making it a standout treat. The staff was exceptionally friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere of the store. My mother in law came for a visit all the way from Europe, so me and my hubby decided to bring her to this place, where the only good thing is the ice cream.. First of all this place has horrible acoustics..it is super loud inside. Staff is super slow, we spent 35 min in the line just waiting to order.. What shocked me the most was the fact that the staff demanded tip... Normally the small ice cream is $6.25, but when my husband was paying the guy told him that it is after 9 pm, so we NEED to tip them...they were demanding tip from everyone, singing this stupid song which was super annoying. I had a really disappointing experience at Cold Stone Creamery at the pike . The service felt rushed and unfriendly, like customers were more of a burden than a priority. The staff didn't seem attentive, and the overall atmosphere was unwelcoming. On top of that, the ice cream Dubai chocolate advertised was even as close to other locations it was horrible didn't live up to expectations--it wasn't as fresh or flavorful as I've had at other locations. For the price, I expected a much better experience. Unfortunately, this visit left a bad impression, and I'd think twice before coming back. read more

Just went the other day, The service was impeccable! Saralyn attended to us very quickly and always had a smile on her face. I think she may have been one of the people in charge with her type of leadership. Definitely deserves a raise, especially with her pro ice cream mixing skills. I had a Free Birthday Scoop reward to claim on my Baskin-Robbins account. With so many…read moreBaskin-Robbins in the area, I chose this one since it was on the way to where I was planning to pick up dinner. First and foremost, don't get this location on Atlantic Ave confused with the location by the now-closed Vons in the Bixby Knolls Shopping Center. This Baskin-Robbins is in Bixby PLAZA on the southwest corner of Atlantic and 36th. CVS is the anchor store there, but Baskin-Robbins is on the other end of that strip mall, adjacent to Atlantic. I made sure to clarify the location when I gave them a call to confirm they would honor the birthday scoop. A couple reviews of the *other* Baskin-Robbins said that location doesn't honor the birthday scoop, a confuzzling mind boggler as I believe such a dishonorable act reflects upon the stinginess of a grumpy owner/manager. This location, fortunately, does honor the birthday scoop, but the girl over the phone (Amerie?) mentioned I'd need to show ID. Okay, I guess. When I got there, there was already another customer inside the shop deciding on what to get, but there was luckily a second employee, Amerie, to assist me and answer my questions. There were about 3 ice cream chests that ran the length of the shop, so you have plenty of different flavors to choose from! I thought about the Oreo 'n Cold Brew flavor, but when I asked if it had caffeine in it, Amerie answered affirmatively. It was about 6 PM when I went, and I definitely didn't want caffeine at that time of day. They do have two flavors that are NSA (No Sugar Added): Caramel Turtle Truffle and Pineapple Coconut. However, I've tried both before and was willing to try something sweeter even though I had been trying to cut down on sweets. The Reese's Peanut Butter Cup was calling my name because Reese's have been my favorite chocolate candy ever since I was a kid. The tub of Reese's was just about full, which almost made me wonder if nobody liked it as much? I was more than willing to give it a try, however! Amerie asked if I'd like a cone or a cup, but I went with a regular cup, though it confused her a bit when I accidentally called it a bowl instead. She also offered a lid as well as a takeout bag, both of which I accepted even though I would have been willing to sit inside at one of the few empty tables by the windows. As I went up to scan my rewards code, Amerie asked to see my ID. But then she muttered that she needed to write down my name and birthdate on a slip of paper. I didn't think much of it at the time after going through a pretty long and tough week, so I was like whatever. After I enjoyed my birthday scoop, I couldn't help but wonder why would they even need to keep track of my birthdate? I've been to several other Baskin-Robbins before, but this is the first time I've been asked to do this. If I had known that she'd need to write down that information first, I probably would have chosen a different Baskin-Robbins to go to as well as a different place to get dinner at. As for the ice cream itself, I took it back to my car to eat. I liked it! I could definitely taste the Reese's in the ice cream, though I thought there could have been a little more flavor without fringing into the "too much good is no good" zone. The pink spoon I was given was small, but surprisingly sturdy enough to use for my takeout dinner that evening. However, I didn't get to fully enjoy that scoop because I kept wondering why they needed to write down my name and birthday when the other locations I've visited before didn't do this. I sent in an inquiry to their customer service team, who passed it onto the team overseeing that shop and requested them to contact me. But get this, it was the *other* location on Atlantic that tried to reach out to me, so even they get their locations confused. I was also offered a receipt, which doesn't always happen when you redeem a free reward, and on the bottom of the receipt, there's a survey code where if you fill out the survey, you can save $1 on your next purchase of $4+. It's similar to what Dunkin' does on their receipts where you can earn a free donut with a drink purchase. This doesn't come as a surprise because Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin' are owned by the same company, hence why my Baskin-Robbins receipt looked exactly like a Dunkin' receipt! With Baskin-Robbins being a dime a dozen, I don't foresee a return visit to this location. It was nice to try, but my next birthday scoop will be redeemed at a different shop instead.
