This place has the worst and most terrible customer service. Cold stone needs to train these two rude employees they have working here. These two either hate their job or don't know a thing about what good customer service is. We came and bought two of the super Mario Birthday cake batter bash ice cream And two strawberry blonde ice cream on waffle cones for a total of $32. Expensive!! And The ice cream looks nothing like on the ads it looks like they made it with their feet! That's how bad it looked. I should've just walked out and leave everything but I didn't want to ruin my son's day. The lady was the most rude of both she would completely ignore me and give me an upsetting face when I ask her about the ice cream waffle cones. We were planning on having a joyful day and they completely ruin my son's birthday ice cream. No wonder there was hardly anyone there. This Place is empty not because of the covid19 it's because of these rude employees they have working at this place. And the lady didn't have a mask on. If I can give 0 stars I would. I'm sad to have to leave this review as Cold Stone has been my favorite ice cream for many years. But the last two times I have been there I have been extremely disappointed. I used to get the cup sizes but decided to go for the container sizes so we can have leftovers. My advice would be don't. The reason I love their ice cream and their creations are their mix-ins. But I have paid almost $30 TWICE for basically a tub of chocolate ice cream. I've been here enough to know how much mix-ins they use for the gotta have it size. I'm ordering 5 times that at least and they put the exact amount of mix-ins inside. Super disappointing. read more

Poor customer service, slow and inconsiderate employees. If you want your ice cream completely melted by the time you finish paying for it, this is the place for you. If not, definitely avoid this place like the plague. The line was long but the wait time to pay after ice cream in hand was quadruple the time. No matter if it was a credit card transaction or cash each took an average of 5 minutes. Decided to point out the problem to the person in charge, who only kept making excuses ranging from the Internet provider difficulty, to new inexperienced employees, to workers only make minimum wage. It seems as ownership of the problem kept being passed and would not own up to it. I was in just now, around 8:15pm. I'm still sitting in the car as I write this review. All the cold stones closed down at my home state so I was stoked that they have so many here in SoCal. I ordered my go-to which is the very vanilla shake. The employees seemed friendly and helpful so I added tip on the receipt. I sat down outside to taste my drink and right off the bat you could tell it's WATERY; Not a thick shake at all. I'm like whatever so I started drinking it and it tasted so bland, I was like where's the caramel taste. So I walked back and asked the lady who made my drink if she added caramel and she said no, it doesn't come with it. I went on cold stone's website and showed her that the very vanilla shake comes with caramel blended in and sometimes they even drizzle it on the walls or on top. She and another guy employee assured me they don't prepare theirs with caramel BUT they can add it on top my drink so that's what he did. Maybe it's management being cheap or lazy in training their employees correctly but how do you forget a main ingredient in a shake that's literally just French vanilla and caramel. Also, if I'm paying $10 for a shake, I expect a good quality shake and that's a shake that's on the thicker side with lots of ice cream used and not watered down with cheap milk. Side note, I don't care much as I'm not Covid paranoid but one employee wasn't wearing a mask and another wore it just covering his mouth and not his nose. If you're preparing food, I expect better safety protocols. read more

I used to love cold stone done come too often but since the last time I came they changed their whipped cream to a canned one and it seems like the ice cream quality has also changed not as creamy and unique as it once was it taste like regular ice cream now not the same quality and the whip cream is basic and even the cookie dough seems more basic yet they're still charging the same price as before with not as quality ingredients..... It's a lovely day outside in February. Finally 80 degrees. Who wouldn't want ice cream right!?!?! US!!! We walked in and waited in line for about 5 mins while the lady behind the counter finished with her rush. While standing their my 6 year old daughter was looking at the ice cream case as any child would. All of a sudden she yells "cockroach!" Ewwww mom, what if it gets in the ice cream!!!! .... My family came here on a Tuesday and we were immediately treated to awful service. The woman who served us was rude and impatient even though we were the only one"s there. Served me the wrong ice cream and when I corrected her told me I was wrong, when my sister backed me up she huffed and finally served me the correct order. All in all a terrible experience. But the people that work there are not friendly and obviously aren't interested in their job that it makes the whole experience not worth it. If I were to rank this Cold Stone against other locations, I'd put it into the bottom group. Sure, it's Cold Stone (love it or hate it), but this place doesn't seem to be very well managed. Many other locations always have soft, creamy ice cream that tastes like it was just made. The ice cream is kind of hard and gritty, as if its sat in the freezer for a week. The mixing-job done by the staff is inconsistent and not very thorough (which helps give it the creamy texture). Store is often crowded in the evening and feels understaffed. Staff is friendly and nice, but don't seem all that interested in their job. As far as the Ice Cream, it's Cold Stone. High fat, rich ice cream. Nice for a treat, but I can't eat too much of it. Interesting flavors and the "mixin" concept is kind of nice because you've got choice. Prices are high and you can easily pay more than $10 for two small cups of ice cream. read more

Normally don't leave reviews but I was there on may 9th at around 7:50 and the workers were awful. Every single one of them. I work in a similar environment and it amazes me how they think it's okay to treat customers that way. Cross another chain of my list. I had not been to Coldstone in quite a while. I have always enjoyed their Coffee Lovers with Coffee Ice Cream, almonds, Heath bar, and fudge instead of caramel. Today, they were out of almonds and pecans so I had them add peanuts instead. Not a big deal. But, the problem was with the "ice cream". It was ridiculously soft and had the taste and texture of cheap generic ice cream - very grainy, not smooth or creamy. I will never understand why chains like Coldstone change their ingredients or recipes or suppliers that significantly lower the quality of their product. And, to make matters worse, paid over $14.00 for 2 medium sundaes. Won't be back. read more

Cold stone is always amaze! Very nice customer service and always nice and clean inside. Yes it's expensive for ice cream which is why we don't come that often but when we do it's a nice treat. It's also fun and peaceful to enjoy outside by the water fountain. read more

If the service is bad, then the quality of the ice cream doesn't matter. I took my two and half year old out to Cold Stone for a father/son night. As is to be expected of me (his father), I forgot the wipes at home and I forgot to get napkins after buying our ice cream. It didn't take me long to realize this was important, so at that point I needed to take my son back inside to use the restroom to wash his hands. The store was still open at 8:17 PM on a Tuesday night. I went to use the restroom barricaded with two stanchions with a retractible belt. I went under the belt with my son and a very rude teenage employee came out and told me that I could not use the restroom because she 'had just cleaned it'. I explained to her that my two year old needed to have his hands washed and she said very coldly, "Go next door at Starbucks. They have restrooms over there." I love the cake batter ice cream and so does my son, but there are other options around town especially if the service is so piss poor where I can't take my son in to use the restroom to wash his hands. read more

I'm more a of a frozen yogurt person, but when my guy was having a bad day he yelled that he NEEDED ice cream. The place I could think of with the richest and biggest portions was Cold Stone, and luckily we live nearby. I had been here once since it opened and was less than impressed and didn't go back. I went this time on a Friday (in August....so hot!) and there was no wait about 5pm. The place was much much cleaner than I remember. The young guy at the counter said it was his family's business and was super friendly. He gave me plenty of time to stare at the menu with my mouth open. He offered us samples and worked cleaning while we decided. It was a very positive experience. I ordered an apple pie a la mode ice cream in a waffle bowl. As he made it he chatted with us and asked my preferences as he made it (more cinnamon?, waffle bowl?). It was very good, light....as light as an ice cream there can be and fruity and refreshing. My guy got the peanut butter cup and chocolate something. The biggest size! They use real, name brand candy in their ice cream creations. We ate inside at one of the tables and it was pleasant with music and a nice view of outside. I don't have any complaints about this place. They are a bit expensive, but not in a crazy way considering they use all fresh ingredients and there are a TON to choose from. If you're in the mood for a super rich diet busting ice cream splurge, stop in here. I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

I was going back and forth from 2 to 3 stars. I settled on 2 because the prices at this place always seem to being going up. The ice cream is hit or miss, it mainly just depends on how well the employee mixes. The main reason for my low rating was the last time we went here it was ridiculous. There was a long line and it was about 100' outside. A young man (I'm assuming an employee or kid of the owner or something) went to the back in street clothes and proceeded to make himself and his girlfriend ice cream. He also goofed around with the other employees causing them to slow there work. He then puts his big foot and sandal on the counter and jumps over it. I am surprised that the staff here does not wear gloves nor hair nets. When asked to put on gloves the person put them on but continued to play with their hair with the gloves on. After taking cash, giving change, touching pants, checking cell, etc they go right back to serving customers without sanitizing their hands. We where on our way home from my 6 year olds cheer leading performance and it was hot outside so she wanted some ice cream. We usually do frozen yogurt but it was the 4th of July and all the yogurt shops where closed. We did have to wait 45mins for them to open because we were there before 11am. The young lady that was work there that day was very nice. She gave my 6 year old a lot of attention. She even let my little girl do her cheer routine for her in the middle of the shop. She loved it! This cold stone was a rip off! We went to get our usual and it was 2 1/2 times more expensive than our usual location in riverside. Plus they only do half the portion for the add ins.
