Then she crammed a bunch of unmixed ice cream on top to make it the right size. She obviously didn't know what she was doing, and I felt bad they had her do orders unprepared. The proprietor of this location has changed the recipe for mud pie mojo. Just in case you're curious peanut butter syrup is not peanut butter. I frankly think you're violating the terms of your franchise agreement with Cold Stone. Average ice cream place, I never dislike my food but all the sugar tends to make me feel sick afterwards, which isn't Cold Stones fault, sugar just makes me feel bad, LOL. Once we got inside, she immediately told us she was closing soon and rushed us while we were trying to order. She didn't give us a fair chance to choose what we wanted and came off as very rude, like she just wanted us to leave. Then one lady with a cake order 10minutes. Once the line was done and only one customer left, another worker came out from the back. Or an issue of running out of items? Not going to lie I have been over indulging in cold stone lately and I stopped here twice in a week span to get ice cream. First time I got the waffle cone and it tasted .. odd ? It had like a cinnamon apple flavor which way not be bad but it was so stale and crunchy I couldn't eat it. I usually don't go out of my way to review an ice cream place but this cashier/possible manager was ridiculous. I sadly did not get her name for a horrible experience. I opened an email I received for a buy one get one Ice cream, since it was for a birthday. The email showed the coupon expired June 1, 2024 since the birthday was on May 19, 2024. The cashier asked for a phone number which is a number I hadn't used in years. They continued to disregard the email and forced me to pay full price for both ice creams. Absolutely infuriating. Whoever was manager on May 30 approx 7:30pm at the West Sacramento Town Center location, should be let go immediately! I've visited this location quite a few times, but today might be the last time. When I arrived, there were 4 people and 3 customers. I patiently waited my turn and when it was, a girl who was obviously a trainee came to help me. At this point, I was the only customer and there were 3 other employees besides the girl helping me. The girl had never made what I requested and asked two of the other employees for help. They gave her a couple of instructions and walked away. You can tell the girl felt unsure about what to do and kept asking follow up questions. Instead of helping her, the other employees went about their duties. I was starting to get really annoyed and you could tell. I felt bad because my ire wasn't directed at the new employee, but at the others who couldn't be bothered to help a fellow employee. I felt so bad for the girl, but also irritated. What should have been an easy transaction turned into a 10 minute exercise in futility. read more

By the time I started ordering, a line started so service was a little slow (only one worker there) I was mostly disappointed because they didn't have any coffee ice cream which is my favorite ice cream there by a long shot. The family and I absolutely love Cold Stone Creamery. But it's unfortunate that the one in West Sac does not offer black cherries. More times than not, we end up driving to Elk Grove because they do offer them. With that being said, when we do stop by the W Sac location, it's always great when Yelena is our server. They're new, we all know that. They need time to get better at what they do, which is scooping and mixing a bunch of ice cream/toppings. I'm sure with time they will get better and they'll be more used to the crowd, and working under pressure when it gets busy. I would like to see anyone in line complaining of how they're not doing a good job to go back there and show everyone what an expert you are at ice cream scooping for the first time (: With that said, it was busy when I went (Monday night). Line was to the door, and they had about 4-5 workers. Their face looked tired from having to scoop ice cream and mixing in toppings. Experience: I have had better experiences but knowing this Cold Stone just opened, it was just okay. I waited in a line that appeared to be shuffled. It was confusing and wrapped the side of a table with people sitting and enjoying their ice cream. I think a line marker or line ropes would better help direct newcomers, especially those that have not been to a Cold Stone before. Other than that we were in and out within 15-20mins. The slow part was at the register. TL;DR Service: My friends and I ordered from the signature creations menu and when they were helped, most of the workers looked confused and they had to point to the menu. So did I. The girl who helped me took awhile to read what was in the ice cream and she also looked like she had a difficult time mixing the toppings in. It wasn't mixed entirely through as I've had from other Cold Stones. She handed me the cup and said she would ring me up at the register. My turn came and I saw that she was helping another customer and was mixing their ice cream. I waited and thought she would come ring me up. No one at the front asked me or rung me up either. If I wanted to, I could have walked out with ice cream in hand without paying. Finally, another worker was going to ring up her customers and I let her know I hadn't paid yet and no one has helped me. She rung me up and I was on my way out. I met up with my friends to find out that one of them chose a signature creations off the menu (Banana Caramel Crunch), and wanted it in a cone and somehow they ended up with just the ice cream, no toppings. I asked them if that's what they wanted and they said the person helping them forgot and didn't hear so my friend said forget it and just went to pay.
