The pho was delicious--rich, flavorful broth, tender meat, and generous portions. Really comforting and authentic taste! Service mindset could improve.

Honestly way better than expected for a mall location. We came to the South Coast Plaza location expecting "solid food court pho" and ended up genuinely impressed. The broth was rich, clean, and deeply beefy without feeling heavy or overly salty. Meat portions were generous, noodles had great texture, and everything tasted fresh. The egg rolls were a hit with the kids, service moved fast, and it was surprisingly easy for a family lunch in the middle of shopping chaos. Is it the absolute best pho in Little Saigon? Maybe not -- but for convenience, quality, and consistency, this really delivered. If you're at South Coast Plaza and debating random mall food vs PhoHolic, this is the move.

A Must-Visit for Pho Lovers! I recently visited Phoholic at the Costa Mesa mall area, and it completely exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for authentic, high-quality Vietnamese comfort food in a modern, vibrant setting, this is the spot. Why I Loved It: The Broth: The soul of any pho is the broth, and Phoholic nails it. It's clear, fragrant, and incredibly deep in flavor without being overly greasy. You can tell they take their time simmering it. Fresh Ingredients: The beef was tender and high-quality, and the herbs (basil, sprouts, lime) were crisp and fresh. The Vibe: Located within the culinary experience area, the atmosphere is energetic and cool--perfect for a quick lunch or a casual dinner with friends. Service: Even when they're busy (which is often!), the staff is efficient, friendly, and gets the food out surprisingly fast.

I ate at Le shrimp Ramen restaurant. Intense flavors. You can definitely taste and smell the essence of shrimp guts. Servers were friendly and attentive. Ended my meal with taro mochi milk tea. Clean environment. Lighting was not overly bright. Went here on Easter Sunday. Many people around, however there was still enough space to move around because of the floor design. Overall a positive experience

Love coming to Collage at South Coast after work on Friday! So many affordable and delicious options. There's something here for everyone. My favorite spots are Paradise Dynasty and Le Shrimp Ramen, but I've had the boba from the tea house and it was really good as well! Love this take on a mall food court!

A visit to the Collage Culinary Experience/Food Court is a must for all foodies! It is conveniently located in South Coast Plaza by Bloomingdales on the first and second floor entrance. They'll have everything from Le Shrimp Noodles, Paradise Dynasty dumplings, Bruxie waffles, Cha Redefine tea/boba, and of course Pho Holic. So many of these shops are family friendly and can accommodate large groups. It's a casual spot for weekly nights or weekends. *tip, Many of these restaurants offer happy hour or weekday deals. Employees are kind even when it gets so crowded at times. I do wish they would host more events or celebrations around here.

They said we could chill at the bar and use the waitlist for a table (~45 min) and we said sure, that sounds nice, we're not in a rush, and I wanted seafood. There was the option of eating at the bar too, but when I checked OpenTable ~15 min after ordering drinks, it said we were second in line and I didn't want them to have to transfer our order from bar to table so we waited... and waited........ and waited. And waited for almost 2 hrs while multiple tables in the restaurant sat empty basically since the time we sat down at the bar. I didn't ask the hostesses earlier cause I figured maybe they're for a reservation soon but NOPE, never got filled the entire time we waited. Finally when it seemed like the hostesses were becoming bored standing there and the restaurant was emptying out, and I overheard our bartender say the dinner rush is starting soon, I went to go ask if our table was ready. At this point, OT had shown first in line out of 2 total parties for at least 30 min. I kind of expected the hostess to be like, yeah table will be ready in 10 min, sorry for the delay. Instead she looks, and immediately goes, "we're setting it up right now :)", which tells me you guys forgot LOL. We were brought to the back area of the restaurant where legitimately, most of the tables were empty. Why bother with the OpenTable waitlist if you're going to completely disregard it? If you get added to the waitlist, be more proactive than me with inquiring about your table since the waitlist clearly doesn't mean much. Only saving grace was the food was mostly delicious, maybe because I was starving after the 2 hour wait (it was like 3:45pm by this point), and both bartenders were really nice. Spot prawns were amazing, halibut was amazing, bread was good, raw bar pretty fresh (the room temp uni was really weird), clams were good, skip the halibut cheeks, and most important of all, make a reservation.

On top of that the menu changes every couple of months, which for me is nice because every time I come here I experience something a little different. Do keep in mind this particular location I've been here enough now that I notice some patterns. there's going to be a seasonal fish that is featured. There's also going to be some kind of stuffed mushroom which I like because I like mushrooms. They always have scallops which are always cooked to perfection. I often order that added on to the entree. There will be at least one steak dish and a chicken and a pork dish. they always feature on the appetizers the lump crab cake. it is what it sounds like, a large lump of crab that is breaded. To me it's not a true crab cake but rather a lump of fresh crab that's breaded and fried. It's ok if you're in to that. The one dish I was curious enough to try today was their Kona crusted lamb loin. I don't usually order lamb unless it's an Indian or middle eastern restaurant. I like lamb but it's not exactly something I crave. so how they explained it was that the Kona was basically using coffee grounds as a dry rub on the meat. So I got curious and ordered it. The grounds basically add a slightly different texture and adds a slight bitterness. Sort of like char from a grill. It was ok and interesting but what stood out the most was the fact that the meat was so perfectly cooked and so flavorful and tender that it overpowered whatever the grounds added to the meat. so I would recommend this solely on the basis of how perfectly tender and flavorful the meat was.

They give you the option of either a 4oz or 6oz, priced at $34 and $49. It's a Connecticut style roll made with buttered lobster on a toasted brioche bun. It also comes with a side of fries and you can choose your choice of seasoning, "Chef's way" or "Maine style." The roll is pretty expensive but honestly worth it in my opinion because of how much lobster they pack into it. The brioche bread was perfectly toasted. The lobster was fresh and buttery without making the bread soggy, even after pouring extra melted butter on top. This is definitely the best lobster roll I've had.

There is no such thing as "off times" on the weekend. Evidently Boiling Crab is still as popular as ever. We didn't mind waiting. Once our number was next we were promptly seated. First thing I noticed was how great the service was from the host, to the waiters, to the helpers. We ordered shrimp and Cajun fries. Shrimp is $18/pound and it is the only seafood you can order by the half-a-pound. After ordering the food came out in less than 10 min. Besides the initial wait, everything else about the dining experience was very efficient, which tells me the long waits are not a fault to slow service. I think they are being as efficient as they can. The dining experience was pleasant. They supply bibs, gloves, etc for easy clean-up. There are TVs showing sports. We were out of there at $45 for two. A pretty good deal considering the unique dining experience. I can see why Boiling Crab remained popular after all these years.

I walked up to the hostess podium and I was ignored. Then I said that I was checking in for 5:30p reservations and the hostess said " that's gonna be much later than. I'll probably get your party in closer to 6:30p." Obviously I was upset by this response since we drove over an hour to this restaurant for the sole purpose of a celebration of life. If reservations were going to be ignored then I would not have bothered making them in a timely matter as I was instructed to do by the organizer of the evening. I basically got the brush off like there was nothing they could do since people were not leaving (including walk-ins) after a 90 min dining limit was posted outside. I was very peeved about this response and said clearly that is not my problem yet I am being penalized. My first encounter with the hostess carried throughout my visit. Our servers name was Linda and she took our drink order as soon as we were seated, however it did seem to take a while for our drinks to arrive. Apologies were made again for the wait but at this point it was clear there was gonna be an issue throughout the meal. I ordered a Caprese salad with brussels sprouts to share family style .When my salad arrived there was no basil. It was just mozzarella and tomatoes, balsamic and olive oil with a dried herb sprinkled on top. When I asked my server if this is how the Caprese is served she said yes. I never had a Caprese with no leaves of basil. Needless to say it's not what I wanted nor expected. My sprouts were dry and overcooked. Linda was truly trying to be accommodating. I could tell she is working very hard to satisfy our group despite the fact the restaurant was packed. Linda was great. We decided to share key lime pie and the warm butter cake w/ ice cream and raspberry sauce. The key lime pie was fine. The warm butter cake was a bit different as it had a hard sugar top. Ice cream with raspberry sauce on the side as well as below. It was too much sauce for my taste. More like a jelly doughnut. My blueberry pomegranate margarita was the best part of my meal. There were so many things that may seem small but were enhanced because I was already upset. The fact the restaurant overly committed and couldn't handle the amount of people was a real issue.
