We packed our own stuff. Our movers were polite, professional, and friendly. They worked very well as a team. Having to contend with CDC and Assisted Living restrictions/guidelines were not a problem. They came prepared for the extra restrictions and worked with the facility manager. I used this company last summer, and it's taken me this long to calm down enough to write this review. Do not use this company if you value your furniture or your new home! I hired them for a scheduled 2-day move. They decided the morning of the move to move my entire house, which I boxed up myself (4 br, 3900+/- sf home), in one day! Huge mistake and I realize I should have not permitted this but I figured they knew what they were doing. However, they rushed the job and basically did not have enough people on the job. They were actually carrying some of my furniture pieces, one guy instead of 2, over his unshirted, sweaty back out to the truck! Disgusting! They also had truck problems which just added to the mess that day! Numerous problems....scratched and broken furniture - chunks of wood broken off my dining room chairs and china cabinet. Bedroom wall in new house dented due to carelessness. One guy had the nerve to say they had never moved such nice furniture! Seriously? Well, thanks, you all did your best to change that! Brand new wood floors have deep scratches thanks to their careless handling of my wall units. My driveway was marred by their truck. When I stopped up to my old house I found some of my deck furniture sitting on my front lawn! They'd never made it to the truck! There are so many reasons I will never, ever recommend this company. My daughter is a realtor and she won't recommend them either. They are the worst. This was probably one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had. Stressed out about moving. Pressed for time. Three kids arrive two hours late with the wrong truck smelling like weed. Then they stood around looking at each other like they forgot why they were there. My husband had to finally pitch in to get things moving. They proceeded to throw things in the truck with no organization. I was promised by the sales guy that they would pack and take apart furniture if need be and pack all my wall hangings with great care. When the kid moving my stuff Informed me he had no "picture boxes" for my wall hangings. I said "Mike" the sales guy assured me you guys would take care of everything. I was then informed that their boss always makes those promises and it just "pisses people off." Anyway 6 hours later they're still trying to pack the truck and decide they need another truck. Finally another truck comes. The movers are all cranky now and complaining. "I'm hungry. "Are we done yet" "dude I'm not packing those pictures" I just want the job done so we bought them a pizza to keep them motivated. Im paying for these kids to keep going back to the truck to get high Next day they have to bring the trucks to my new house. I call in the morning to explain my bad experience and request more help because I'm not having a repeat of the prior day. They send 3 or 4 EXTRA kids that help out for a few hours which definitely made a difference Long story short it ended up costing 2500 bcuz they had no clue how to do the job. Broken mirror and lost pieces to my daughters bed frame "oh it might be in the other truck. I saw it somewhere." I hired College Bound Movers in 2010 to move in Nashua. It was an incredibly bad experience. A truck arrived with 3 movers. They were all about 20 years old. They SUCKED. They spent most of the day standing still and socializing. Even when I was watching them, they goofed off. I actually started helping them move because they were so unmotivated. What should have taken one 1 hours took them 4 hours. Again, this was over a year ago, so you might have better luck with this company, but I would not let them move my stuff again even if they offered to do it for free. read more

Booking the move: Moving is a stressful ordeal, moving with a toddler and your in laws who are visiting to help is a two week night terror. I'm pretty sure Brandon at the office will be happy to never see an email from me again. I was probably significantly annoying, you know that customer... you sigh when you see an email from with another question that you previously answered worded another way. Yeah that was me.. thanks Brandon for putting up with my crap. The price estimate was much lower than every other moving companies that came out. This is definitely the most affordable option in Southern NH. Aaron came out quickly to do an on site estimate just to make sure that the pricing was right and it was. The movers show up original location: You know else what I like about College Bound Movers? It's young guys, not the typical questionable characters that make you wish you numbered all the boxes and made an inventory.... They showed up were polite, introduced themselves, did a walk through, and had all the boxes out of the house before I could blink an eye. I was pretty prepared for the move, stuff was packed, shrink wrapped and they were happy about that. Usually I feel the need to stick around having moved several times, but I wasn't worried about leaving them to pack the truck before my toddler had a meltdown. We took off for our new home certain that everyone was fine. The movers show up secondary location: The guys show up and I ask them to get the fridge and the baby's crib out and put together as soon as they could and they did just that. Seeing these three haul my giant french door fridge up 7 steps a walk way and into the doorway was impressive. I actually felt really bad for them. But they got the fridge in, didn't scratch the doorway the fridge or the floor and put the door handles back on with no problem. The rest of the unloading went pretty smoothly. Overall they were a great team and used all the resources they had to make the move a smooth transition. Issues with the move: I made sure to ask ahead of time about the bed frames being dismantled and put back together. When I spoke to the office they said it would be no problem, on their website it's a service they offer and the furniture they did disassemble was reassembled upon arrival. So to be clear this is not a reflection on Marco, AJ or.. you know three names is hard to remember. They were great, but I do think given the fact that most people don't assemble furniture even when it arrives, they should have had a better set of tools from the company to get my king bed frame apart. They weren't able to and had to leave it there. I wasn't pleased and I'm sure poor Brandon caught that from my email that said.. I'm not pleased. My husband and I went back that night to try and assess the situation. We needed a smaller wrench to get it apart and I was ready to just say to hell with it. But bed frames aren't cheap. So my father in law managed to get it separated. I reached out to Brandon you know a few times.. (I'm annoying that way) and he arranged to have another team bring me the bed frame the following week. So a victory there. A lot of moving companies on an interstate move would have said sorry you're SOL at the end of the month when it's peak time. Or charged you for another trip. Since some of our furniture is extremely heavy, I have to admit that I was a little nervous when I opened the door last week to the two young men that were sent by College Bound Movers to move our furniture out of our 3-story duplex and into a Mi-Box storage unit, but their professionalism, strength, good humor, and very creative furniture stacking, which enabled us to utilize every inch of our Mi-Box, quickly put my mind at ease! We were very pleased and impressed with how quickly and smoothly these movers worked together to carefully move our furniture down an inside staircase, through an outside deck, and down another long outside staircase. We will use both College Bound Movers and Mi-Box again for future moves and will recommend them to anyone else that we know who is looking for help with their next move! read more

I wish I had read the reviews here before I booked their services. If you want to overpay for a botched moving attempt, by all means book their services. They showed up late and understaffed. During the moving process one of their staff members left without any communication with the rest. I got the packing services for the kitchen as well. They showed up with some boxes and packing paper. However, packed only crockery, Tupperware and appliances. A total of 6 small boxes in 2-4 hours and told me they don't pack any food items even in jars and containers. Charged $450 for that. I emailed Noah Oulette, the "Relocation Specialist" with all the concerns and he replied that he doesn't know what happened so can't help. Ok, emailed again stressing that someone needs to be accountable for what they charge for the services and what they deliver. Nothing. I get a response that I can reach out to regional manager. Here comes the move day, supposed to show up at 12, charged us $50 to ensure that the crew can come in at noon time. Around 2:30 I had to call and ask if they were even coming in that day. I got the response that they aren't free from previous job so can't say how long will it take. We had a toddler with us which made things harder since I arranged for someone to watch him during the anticipated move time. Showed up around 3:15. Understaffed, no communication as to what's the plan. Started moving stuff. Turns out they didn't bring a big enough truck so can't do the complete moving. It's already 9 pm by that time. Confirmed with us that they will continue the move next day, Saturday and someone will reach out to us to make sure it happens. We had to return the key to the landlord so it had to be done by Saturday noon time. So we reach the destination and they get some man power. Now, let's get to assembling the furniture and crib. Left some hardware at the place we are moving from. I picked that up and gave it to them while they are trying to put it together without a clue in the world. Left the crib unassembled. They have absolutely no idea or respect about clients property or items. Broke the coffee table with a response that someone will come fix it whenever or as soon as they can. Haven't heard back about that either and we paid for insurance of items as well. Saturday morning I called to get an update around 11 to see where we are at with the moving. Got a response that they can't do anything today because they are already booked. They can look into Sunday. Is this company run by professionals or what ?! Had to argue to get the services that they oh-so-promptly charged the credit card for Friday night. So they find someone after calling back again who can finish the move. Reminded them about the unassembled furniture items and crib. Got the response that they can fix that. Only to find out later that after assembly some hardware is still left over from crib, which I have to redo again as I don't know if it's even safe and what parts will hold and what will fall apart . Bed rail came out after someone just sat on it. Is the bed assembled or just put into place with as minimum screws as possible ?! Called and told them about damaged items. Got the response that they will talk to someone about returning or compensating for overcharging us. Never heard back. Least professional, most disrespectful when it comes to clients stuff and time. They don't care if stuff gets burned to the ground as long as they can charge your credit card. Unpacking now, and seeing how they packed, dumped everything in the box and put bubble wrap at the end. Finding stuff that's broken because it wasn't packed properly but hey they didn't forget to charge for boxes citing they needed smaller sized ones, even though I had already bought boxes from Home Depot. My advice, do not get their services. If you do want to experience the worst customer service, least bothered Attitude and frustrating moving experience, by all means do get their services. They will not disappoint in that arena ! read more

Moving is stressful for everyone. We have moved 6 times in 11 years and used movers every time. We decided that saving up for this luxury is worth it both mentally and physically. College Bound Movers is By FAR the best experience we have had. Tough move, moving from the first floor... to the 3rd floor. These 3 guys were professional in their work, so friendly, happy and just really awesome.. they are very cognizant of time quoted for move (you never see that). I HATE moving!! We hired college bound movers at a recommendation from a friend who stated she used them 5 times, and that they were wonderful. Three guys came, (all under 25 ish I would say), and they were AMAZING. They were literally RUNNING in and out of my house with boxes. My husband and I have a LOT of stuff, and they finished moving us in about 6 hrs (and had to go to two other locations). Seriously the BEST experience ever. They were amazing. I took a chance on College Bound Movers when I moved from Boston to NH this fall. Although the customer service was uneven -- I had to call them back and remind them to send me move contract details and I didn't get a reminder call from them the day before or day of the move--I was pleased overall with the movers and the pricing. They worked efficiently. Nothing broke. The front office person also neglected to tell the movers I had one large antique armoire even though we had discussed it twice. The company took full responsibility for sending a team back to get it (hoisting it down one story from a porch). So, if you are willing to keep on the office communication-wise, these guys are very competent movers at a fair price. read more

We used their service August 14, 2018, agreed on same day delivery, they didn't load correctly, There are around 40 box left behind which easily could of fit their truck, if that load properly. After 2 weeks they charged another 185.00 dollar. Because they suppose charge us overnight storage. I called them about this let them know we never requested overnight storage, they made me wait 2 hours to clarify that, than they said other excuses to keep charge. Experience was fantastic! This is my second experience with College Bound Movers. The first time we moved from Massachusetts to New Hampshire's Second time we moved in State. We had a ton of furniture and lots of closets to pack up. The movers came in and helped with the packing and wrapping of clothes and large mirrors, and wrapping T.V's..this was a fantastic service that was provided. Both experiences with the business as far as quoting the price were accurate and professional. I cant say enough positives about the movers themselves. They were very respectful of how stressful moving can be and took extra care to make sure the furniture went into the correct rooms etc. They worked very hard without taking breaks and were dressed professional and were polite and friendly. Lastly with my fragile items making sure not to bump into walls that were difficult to navigate. Nothing was damage, missing or broken which is always a big positive. We hired based on realtors recommendation. After several calls explaining what was needed for our move, Kate finally came out. Prior to her visit, it was home inventory, number of movers and a My Box rental x3 - we just didn't think she "got it".. We were moving a 3400 sq ft home so 3 movers and two storage boxes weren't going to work! Since we were building, our things needed to be in storage. That's why we wanted to go with them - they own storage facility. I think we were way over quoted. We lived 5 miles from the storage facility. I don't even want to tell you what they charged us for gas! The move lasted all day. I was told their storage facility was "climate controlled". That was not true...they charged those prices though! Kate arranged for us to buy moving blankets, as we wanted our furniture protected. The movers used shrink wrap on everything. The good furniture ended up with shrink wrap and no moving blanket. They didn't know what was good and what wasn't, nor did they care to ask. The move took forever even though everything was boxed and ready to go. At the end of a very long day, we were presented with a bill that was $1000 over the total quoted. Kate quoted the wrong size storage locker so we were up charged on that too. When we went to check out our things in storage, it was obviously a very poor use of space. We assume the movers got tired at the end of the day, as everything was just thrown into the smaller 10 x 20 locker. They put our mattresses in with outdoor items. It was a mess. They threw an outdoor cart on top of everything. It leaked and left black stains that wouldn't come out on our furniture. We had to go back and "organize" that locker despite the fact the movers were given clear instructions on what had to go in the front. The items were clearly tagged. Our daughter's college things, things we bought for the house we were building etc. It took us a few hours out of our busy schedules to go and repair their error. We should have charged them gotten a credit something! I called Kate when we were planning our move out...several times. She didn't have the decency to call me back. Messages were left with office staff too. She called the day before our move. I had gotten someone else. We stood and inventoried our items as they came out of storage. We have gouges in our furniture, things were broken... a mess. Again, I called Kate to report our damage. After several attempts she took a recorded statement informing me she would meet with the President and call me within a week to address my concerns.. Guess what? She never called. That was six weeks ago. Two voice messages were left with President Edward Smith asking for a return call (Kate is the voice on his voice mail, really?/). He didn't bother to call us back. If you are looking for a mover, stay away from College Bound. Horrific experience. In so many ways, they demonstrate they are in it for the $ and customer satisfaction means nothing. The young men who showed up to move our furniture into the house were OK. My only issues were that they took several smoke breaks, and one of them asked permission to strip off his shirt while he worked. It *was* an incredibly hot day, but it made me uncomfortable to be asked, and then I had to have this guy walking around my house with no shirt on all day (or feel like an ogre). They are young college kids, and I get that they don't really understand professionalism yet, but their managers should do a better job training them about how to behave while on the job. They were mostly friendly and helpful, and did the job well though, so I would recommend them if you're looking for reasonable rates and flexibility from a moving company. read more

I have used them twice in the past and recommended them to my mom... they showed up with no tools no boxes or mattress covers and then want you to sign a waiver about damage. The movers were trying very hard but were late and the move was just not done well. On top of that many items were left behind and we ended up having to move with a truck two more nights. We reached out to them twice for assistance and basically they don't care at all. Will be looking for new movers for the second part of the move. And it was NOT the movers it's what the office promises and then doesn't make sure their employees are prepared with what is needed and then just yes you to death on the phone but do nothing to make the situation better. read more

By 9:30 am, no one had shown up so we called to get a status. The guy who answered told us that they did not have us on the books for the day. We told them that we had booked the appt with Kate so he told us that he would get her to call us back when she came in. By 11:00, she had not called so we called her. When we finally spoke to her, she acted as if we were bothering her. Needless to say she did not offer any help and we were on our own to move. Just amazing. These guys are just amazing. We had to move a 3 story home across town into another 3 story home and they did it in 4 hrs. They worked nonstop! Oh and did I mention it was during a blizzard- yeah they moved us during a blizzard when we got over 4ft of snow. Not only did they pack our belongings, they kept a detailed inventory and arranged the items in the truck and so when they unloaded they were efficient and each room was unpacked and staged in record time. I really can't say enough about how great these guys were. Thorough, on time, friendly, organized, efficient, reasonably priced and they even shoveled our walk way. They barely packed our belongings, most of out items were thrown in boxes, mislabeled or lost completely. We used College Bound Movers for our recent move from Manchester NH to Londonderry NH. They arrived right on time around 8:30 am and didn't finish up until around 7 pm. The 4 men were courteous, efficient and a pleasure to have around. We packed most of our stuff ourselves, leaving the larger mirrors and framed print for them to pack. Nothing was damaged or broken in the move and as far as moves go, this was pretty smooth. This was hands-down the best move we have ever done. The team was prompt (even early!), professional, and pleasant. They cared about doing a good job and taking good care of our furniture. They were hard-working and efficient. They got the job done in significantly less time than estimated, and hence the final bill was quite a bit under the estimate they gave us. We used College Bound 7 years ago and had a great experience, so much so that I recommended the company to many friends and family. Unfortunately our most recent experience was not up to the same standards and I can no longer recommend the company. First they were 30 minutes late to our appointment. Next they overcharged us for the work performed (College Bound charges for time elapsed to and from the jobsite which isn't unheard of, however they charged us an 30 minutes both before and after the job when our house is 15 minutes via mapquest from their facility). Finally, the ground was wet and they did not lay out any sort of mats or pads coming into the house, even though they will tell you that's a standard practice on wet days. This resulted in a $250 carpet cleaning bill that we were responsible to pay for. We were so worried about a re-occurrence at our new house that we hurried to the store and purchased roll out paper to cover the flooring before the moving truck arrived. College Bound customer service was lacking as well as the first representative promised to get back to us within a couple days and never did. Subsequently that representative never returned our emails or calls. It wasn't until we followed up two weeks later that someone else reviewed our case. Unfortunately, he defaulted to trusting his employee's judgment so nothing else could be done. Without further explanation, he defaulted to the fine print in the company terms and conditions, where like all moving companies they put the liability on the consumer. I expected more from this company based on previous experience. Unfortunately it looks like the quality of their work has deteriorated since then. read more
