Myself and my two daughters (ages 6 and 4) came in to paint something for Mother's Day. The girls painted their projects pretty quickly but the staff working at the time was so kind to give them coloring pages and colored pencils to entertain them while I tried to finish mine up. The staff was super friendly and helpful through the whole process, my girls enjoyed them selves and even gave the young woman working their pictures because they liked her so much. Was told when we walked in that the pieces might not be glazed in time for Mother's Day but in fact they are ready 4 days early. This time we went as a double date with my boyfriend and my best friend and her boyfriend, and it was such a fun activity to do together. They have so many different pottery pieces to choose from, so everyone was able to find something they liked. We had a party here this past weekend for our child. With the party package it was supposed to include two helpers during the party (18% gratuity was charged). They explained that they needed to write the numbers on the paint tray and how many layers to paint in order to achieve a good coat, but they never came back to ask if they needed more paint. I basically was asking the kids and filling their paint trays. This was for 16 kids, with 130+ tip. For that amount I was expecting someone to be on top of everything. Besides that, the space was clean but didn't have a Bathroom for customers (employees only). When you are having a party it's be nice not to have to leave and go to the food court just to use the bathroom. read more

This location is convenient if you're at the mall and want to have your kids paint an item or even yourself. The only bad thing is that it can also mean it will be very busy. Luckily, you can make reservations or even put your name on a waitlist and shop around while it's your turn. The staff members are very helpful and nice. Me and my friend were looking for something fun to do and came across this through Yelp. The price was really good, it's a $10 service fee which includes their materials and then just add that to the ceramic that you want to paint on. Ceramic pieces vary in price, really small items are about 10-20$ and then the bigger ones are about 20-30$. Overall it was a fun experience, we were given about 2.50 hours to paint and we just walked in. Although I would recommend setting a reservation because this place does get busy, we just got lucky because we came at 2pm on a Sunday, a time when they weren't as busy. Only thing I would say is that you're on your own when it comes to customer service, so prepare to get your own paint and your own brushes as it's a very self serve type of style. There are only 2-3 girls working and they seem pretty busy working on their own thing read more

Stopped in as a walk in on a Tuesday at 1pm the entire shop was empty with only one table being used by two people there was two girls working one was super aggressive and a bit rude she went by name silver. When I asked for more colors she pointed from the project she was painting and told me to grab some myself which is fine but the store was dead and as much as I'm spending customer service would've been kinda nice. I took my mother into the store to do a art project the raw pieces of clay before they fire them were so expensive!!! I could not believe they wanted $42 for a bowl then you pay $10 for a fee to use their paint that's $52 + taxes on that you're paying $60 for a bowl that you could go to target and buy for seven dollars!!! unbelievable prices!!!!!! I do realize that you are customizing, etc., however the prices are way out of line. The store was completely empty when we walked in, not one soul was sitting there painting, and I understand why!!!! We walked out... I told the lady standing there that the prices were high and she says "yes everybody says that" and I said are you communicating this to the manager???? What a shame... One of the projects I wanted to do was a spoon rest for my stove., at the store plus all the fees it would be $30, I just purchased one for $2.99, from the HGTV design "Magnolia" line at Target!! Sure my piece was not custom, but for an additional $27, who cares?! This place will be bankrupt soon is my guess.... read more

My group of friends have a tradition where we all paint ceramic mugs for each other, and I recently decided I would paint a mug for one of my friends in this group. I had never been to a pottery painting shop before and wasn't sure what to expect on pricing, rules, or how the process worked. When I came in, the staff happily explained the process: you choose your piece (they have many pieces available at a range of different prices, but each item is labeled so you know how much it will be. The mug I choose was marked at 18 dollars). Then there will be an additional studio fee (for an adult, it is currently $8 per painter). I know some shops charge an hourly fee, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn this studio fee is currently not an hourly one, you pay it only once and you can take as much time painting your piece as you need (I was even offered that if I needed to come back and finish the next day, I could). Certainly affordable if you are just doing one piece, and still reasonably priced for families or groups. (This does also seem to be somewhere where gratuities to the staff are appropriate, so do keep this in mind when thinking about the price). The staff are knowledgeable about the process, the materials, and the best techniques for the desired artistic results. They also remain present and available if you need to ask any questions during the process. I do not have children, but there were other families around, and the staff are friendly and helpful with the kids. I would definitely say this is popular with families and children, but you could also go as an adult and still be very comfortable and have a good time. read more

Today we had my daughter's 8th birthday party at the Riverside Studio - it couldn't have been better. I easily arranged a private party one month in advance, received invitations and our choice of pottery pieces within our desired price range (to maintain our party budget). One week after scheduling the party I received a phone call to confirm the pieces we'd chosen would be ordered and available for our guests. Then two days before the party, I receive another call confirming the party details and was offered help with setup and decorations. Upon arriving at the studio 30 mins prior to the party start time, the girls arranged the tables as I'd requested and prepped the painting area. While being very involved but yet not in the way, both girls attended to our guests and ensured the party flowed smoothly without too much downtime. I was very impressed by how well they remembered each of the guests names and encouraged their creativity. After the painting was completed, they quickly cleaned the tables so that we had a clean surface to eat lunch and cupcakes. At the end of the party, they offered to help carry items to the car as well as wished my daughter happy birthday. I would definitely recommend this birthday option to both kids and adults that enjoy painting. My family and I left happy and stress-free. This was a very successful party. read more

Okay, I freaking loved this place. My younger sister is mildly autistic and she really wanted to come here for her birthday. She recently took a ceramics class at school and she loved it so I knew she would like it here. The whole art therapy thing is really great for her and the staff was super friendly and patient. We never felt rushed and they checked up on us often to see if we needed more paint/ brushes. It was nice and quiet during the day (Tuesday afternoon) and they offered a deal where you get 50% off your painting fee for checking in on Facebook. I think we spent about three hours there and we each painted one item. How it works: pick any ceramic item off the shelf and pay the price of that item + a painting fee. Items range from $14-maybe $75 for really big items? The painting fee is $10 for adults and $6 for kids. (Like I said, we got 50% off our painting fee for checking in on Facebook) Then you paint the item, pay, and pick it up in a few days. They said it would take a week to be ready but they were actually ready in two days Also, just a tip: take the time to look through the store and look at all the stuff they offer to use to paint your item. There are sponges, stencils, painters tape for straight lines, fine point paint bottles for writing, different sizes of paintbrushes, stamps, etc. I wish we would have saw a few things before we painted but I guess it's an excuse to go back. Overall, I spent less than $50 on two items and we were there for about three hours. I'd say that's pretty good considering the fun we had and what we have to show for it. read more
