This place not only will nickel and dime you but they aren't very good. My nails cost $45 for hot gel and it was sloppy work. I had to take the file and make my nails straight! They also didn't trim my cuticles like any normal place would and when I asked they said it would be an extra $5!! Really? I will not be returning. They then had the rude audacity to clearly speak in their own language about me and I could tell they were being rude/inappropriate for a business establishment to do in front of a customer! That said, they are not friendly and just want your money. Lastly, it's not a very clean place and I'd let that slide a little if it weren't for all the other things wrong with the place! Don't waste your money or time because there are tons of better nail spas out there! read more

I usually do not write review especially when i am unhappy as i dont want to create an unpleasant cause to a business. I have done my Shellac Mani and Pedi only a week back. I went just before they are closing for the day. Though i felt that they rushed while doing Shellac Mani and Pedi, I expected a good quality of work. My nails were not shaped properly and its not even a week that Shellac came off. I have been doing Shellac gel polish for my nails for more than 8 years now and i have never seen this poor quality of work. I would not recommend this place if you are going especially for Shellac Gel. Thank you! read more

This place was by far one of the worst places that I've ever gotten a fill from. The lady cut my finger with the tool used to file the acrylic nails. My cuticles and fingers were in a lot of pain after she finished doing my nails. The lady was very rude and aggressive. I felt as though she was taking out all of her angry on my poor fingers. She also could not paint properly on my nails and ended up painting my fingers as well. And the gel nail polish has already started chipping after about two days. This has never happened to me before and I've gotten plenty of gel nail polish fills. She would get mad when I would tell her to fix my nails whenever she messed up. For example, all my nails were painted tan and she got a red dot on one of them. I asked her to fix it and she basically told me no that it looks fine. Perfect nails not so perfect. I should have learned my lesson last time when I came to this place and got french acrylic nails done. You could see one of my real nails under the french acrylic nail. Again, I had asked the lady to fix it and she brushed it off. These people do not like fixing nails when they mess up on them But they charge you like $40 for a pretty horrible job that you could do yourself. I do not mind paying that price but i hate paying for nails that look disgusting after getting them done. Nail places like this do not deserve second chances. I will never be coming back to not so perfect nails. read more

I had the worst experience getting eye lash extensions. When I arrived they rushed me in. No consultation on what i wanted and in the middle of Kim putting on the lashes, Kim then informed me that there is no refund if my eye swell up and by the way this rarely happens. Well it happened to me. Very bad experience. I went to another professional. She told me to go back and get a refund. I did not want to have an argument. This amazing professional said she used way too much glue which probably irritated my eyes. I really hope I don't get an eye infection. Don't go there! Had a pedicure and maniucre on 4/25/09. Within two days toe highly infected. Went to spa and showed Kim and the girl who did pedicure. Kim cleaned toe and very apparent cuticle cut. Long story short -- had to go to doctor ($30 out of pocket) and buy prescription ($10 out of pocket). Doctor said cuticle cut too deep. Took paperwork too Kim and requested reimbursement for $40 plus free pedicure. Kim not want to reimburse me but give me $40 gift certificate, even though I already paid for a bad pedicure plus out of pocket doctor expenses. If you cherish your feet DON'T GO TO THIS SPA. read more

Worst place ever!!! I had my nails done last week and the very next day they started chipping on the tips. Basically she had done such a messy job on my nails. Very disappointed in their work and customer service. When you ask them to correct something they just roll theireyes and act like they're the professionals and know what they are doing. I had been trying to book a mani/pedi at a spa last minute and just couldn't get an appointment. I was tired from work and my hands and feet needed some major TLC. Since I couldn't get an appointment at a spa, I rolled up to this place. I asked for a mani/pedi and the lady shouted the traditional "pick your color" and pointed to the open chair! As my feet sat in the water for a few minutes, I asked about the "deluxe" pedi from their menu and the lady looked at me crazy! She said she didn't know what it was. Now I would've understood if I were asking the nail lady about facials, but I wasn't. This was a service in her cup of tea! Another nail lady stepped in though and explained it to me. Sounded like something I wanted to try since I couldn't get my spa appt. I told my lady I wanted to go ahead and try the "deluxe". Oddly, she told me it was too late because the water was already filled up...huh?!? I had only been in the chair for a few minutes and all she had to do was add some soy powder to the water, so...what the heck! Anyhow, the lady did do a great job in the end with the regular mani/pedi. She happily trimmed and filed more upon request and took her time. One thing I did not enjoy were the chairs. I found it very uncomfortable to sit in total upright position and have a the stupid massage thing going on in all the wrong places. Also, the place had gone completely empty while I waited for my toes to dry. Which would have been okay had it not turned into social hour for all the nail ladies. They all laughed and told stories in their language (about other clients i believe). That went on for about 20 minutes at top volume...very unprofessional! One other thing, they had some movies playing on large flat screens. Helped me to occupy my time but wasn't really relaxing as the movie was voilent and had nudity...made me a little uncomfy. To sum it up: pros: Cheap, clean, good job. Would go back to this place if I have another emergency type situation. cons: Crappy chairs, slightly unprofessional, not knowledable about their own menu of services. read more

NOT SO PERFECT NAILS... I WISH I CAN GIVE THEM ZERO STARS!!!! the lady that worked on me was not experienced at all . I asked for shallac with red tips and silver line under and a snow flake design .. She didn't clean my nails or file them properly... She had red nail polish all along the side to my nails ( VERY DIRTY WORK) , when I asked her to clean it she seemed upset and started mumbling in a different language with the two girls that were doing my daughters nailes & also left glue and dirt under my kids nails and lines around there nails!!! She got to the now flake part made me this ugly grumpy looking flake ... When I told her I didn't like it she started to kinda yelling at me along with another girl telling me it looks fine!!! I paid $93 dollars for the 3 of us and got treated like nothing!!! I didn't leave a tip because I felt they were horrible..As I sat to wait for my daughter the owner started to yell at on little girl telling her off about touching something in the shop then she was offering me her nail membership promoting, when I declined her offer she started questioning me why why don't you want to buy it , you don't want to have pretty nails!!!!! I just had a mani/pedi done by Sophia and could not be more thrilled with the results. She was very accommodating and was able to fit me in at the last minute. Her work is meticulous and my nails came out perfectly. The cost is very reasonable, in fact I have paid more at other salons and received less service. I had gotten my nails done at this salon once before I while ago and went back again to get a manicure and pedicure. I have to say it was not a very good experience this time around. The pedicure was okay but the manicure was not a clean job. I felt they were rushing just to assist more customers. On top of that they would be talking in their language (basically about the customers). I could hear them speaking very rudely to other customers as well. The quality was not at all worth the money I spent. I would recommend you spend a little extra and go somewhere else where the service is reputable and the quality worth it. read more

I have come here a total of three times after trying out Town Nails and the now defunct Tony's Nails on Tassajara. I don't get my nails done on a regular basis, so maybe I don't ask for much, but I think this place does a great job, especially for the price. I will agree with some other reviews about their slowness, but generally when I am going to get my nails done I make sure I don't have any major time constraints. They are attentive, thorough, and most importantly clean by all my accounts. I come in there with my son sometimes and they don't give me any attitude about having him sit in an empty chair next to me while he plays his DS. You do have to tip in cash, which is not uncommon nowadays. I think $12 is pretty awesome for a manicure and their Mani/Pedi combo is only $31. They also have two large T.V.'s which helps pass the time when you are finishing up the drying process. I'm not expecting private spa-level service here, so overall I think they deserve 4 stars for service and value. read more

This place is clean and I like how there are plasmas on the wall showing movies while you get your nails done. They also do a great job on gel nails. They do 100% gel, unlike other salons that will do half acrylic and finish with a gel coat. read more

I've been goign to this salon and the one owned by the same owners in San Leandro for years and will never go anywhere else for a gel set or fill. I always make an appointment with David or Tiffany for nails and am not particular abotu the pedicures as they always turn out great. Never again. They tried to charge my 14 year old daughter $50 for a full set. If you are going to charge more for a shape, you need to inform them first of the up charge. It is not good business practice to just assume that the additional cost is OK without asking or speaking with the parent or asking the customer prior to performing the service. Also, it was not fun to sit and have to listen to a 25 minute phone conversation that the "owner" was having while she was doing the ladies nails next to me. So much for trying to relax. read more

I absolutly love this place. they do gel nails, not acrylic, I have gone a month in between fills and still have people complementing me on how good they look, also mine have never turned yellow, or lifted wich was a problem I ran into often with acrylics. I am really picky and I only let tiffany do my nails,but david and kim (the owners) are good too for toes I like tina jenny, or tiffany. If you dont call ahead of time you could end up waiting quite a while though, I would call just to be safe! read more

I went in for an eyebrow wax. Kim talked me into dying my eyebrows after I initially declined. Soon after the dye was applied I asked a male employee to ask Kim to take the dye off, she was busy with a mani and did not come. I am very displeased with the color. I called Kim today, she told me that I would not be charged if I did not like the results but now says she didn't say that. My husband says I look like Groucho Marx, apparently for the next 4 weeks. read more

I LOVE Jennifer! Not only does she do a GREAT job on my nails, toes, and eyebrows but she does it in a timely fashion. I try my best to make an appointment which if I get Jennifer works. However, the owner is known to take in too many walk in's sometimes delaying her regular customers for 30+ mins when they have made an appointment. As much as I love this place I wish they would appreciate the fact that we all have schedules to attend to and not treat us like we have all day or night to wait for them. I usually get acrylics but upon going here for a fill I was told that gels work better since they last longer and they don't turn yellow like acrylics typically do after a while. Well, David is great! He takes his time and does a good job. My nails can last up to 3 1/2 weeks! No yellowing and they look good. The ambience of the salon is a little lacking but I am going for the nails and David does them well. They do have big screen tv's for your watching pleasure which helps to make the time fly by... and you can figure out what movies to go check out when you get done. I always get compliments on my nails and I am always asked... "Where do you get your nails done?" I've been going for a while now and I'm always pleased with the outcome of my nails. Give it a try for gels. I have not had pedicures or anything else so I am strictly reviewing my experience with gel fills with David. He is great. read more
