Coltivare is one of the cutest spots for a girls' night out or a date night. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, and I love the concept of growing ingredients right outside in their garden. I got lucky and found a parking spot right next to the restaurant, but otherwise you'll likely need to rely on street parking. We ordered several dishes to share around the table, and everything was delicious. The wings were especially flavorful and ended up being one of my favorite dishes of the night. The pasta was also very good! It had a lot of garlic! For dessert, we tried the new cherry chocolate cake, and it was amazing. The texture was so smooth, the sweetness was perfectly balanced, and the cherries paired beautifully with the chocolate. The cocktails were also dangerously good. You barely taste the alcohol. Between the food, drinks, good service, and ambiance, it's definitely a spot I'll be returning to.
We tried our first meal at Coltivare at their dinner service. Parking is located mainly streetside on White Oak. The interior is dimly lit and fairly packed. The service was... alright. Considering the casual upscale nature of the restaurant, we expected a bit more attention to the table in terms of checking in order additional dishes / drinks. The tables were also quite small and our table in particular was a bit uncomfortable to dine at. Food wise, we were impressed with everything but their pizza's. Their appetizers were solid, both pasta dishes were delicious, and flavor and portions were solid. Their pizza style is a thicker crust style and we weren't a fan of the duck pizza at all, and their pepperoni based pizza was fine. Not the biggest fan of their dough or crust. Their cavatelli was delicious!
I went to Coltivare with my girlfriends on a Saturday night, and I'm really glad we made a reservation because the place was packed. The parking situation wasn't great -- mostly street parking, and it felt pretty hectic. The restaurant itself is quaint but small, so it gets crowded and loud inside. We had a patio reservation and were seated in the covered patio, which ended up being perfect since it was freezing outside and much quieter than the main dining room. For food and drinks, I ordered a nonalcoholic spritz, which was really refreshing. We shared a pizza that was pretty good, and I ordered the black pepper and parmesan spaghetti. It was okay -- not bad, but nothing too memorable. Overall, we enjoyed our food, and our waiter was very nice and attentive. I'd recommend trying it out and definitely making a reservation.
Came in on a Monday night after some drinks and seated immediately in their indoor heated patio. Dress code: smart casual, seems to be a wide variety Food 5/5: we got the duck pizza and meatballs. Both were very tasty although the duck pizza was perhaps a bit too experimental for me. Will have to come back and try their pepperoni. Service 5/5: very friendly and prompt. Gave us good recommendations for food options and water was filled very promptly x Ambiance 4/5: the indoor patio was fairly rustic, but was clean and surprisingly warm with the heaters on Value 4/5: good food for a pretty good price Overall 4.5/5: will be back to try other things on the menu. I love the lightly dark and rustic ambiance of this restaurant, but unfortunately the food was extremely disappointing. We ordered the focaccia anchovies with herbs appetizer that was very salty and floppy. We also got the chicken and prosciutto pizza which didn't include the cheese so we added it for $6 extra. I feel like a typical component of a pizza would include the cheese, so that was interesting. Additionally, the pizza was extremely drenched in oil. It was very floppy and mainly consisted of prosciutto and very little chicken. I couldn't finish a slice because it was truly making me sick. We also got the crab ravioli was extremely disappointing. The meal was undercooked and super dry at the same time. However , I greatly appreciated our sever-she was super nice and attentive. Overall, I think the other items on their menu might be better, so I will try those out next time.
How can you not love Coltivare. A true Houston classic. I've been coming here for years, and it's always been a favorite of mine. I love their outdoor seating so much that I've never not sat out there. I love the garden and seeing all the fresh herbs and vegetables! Coltivare has some of the best espresso martinis! I love coming here to split a pasta and pizza with a friend. The burrata and focaccia is a must and has a generous amount of focaccia. I've also had the wood grilled chicken which was insane. You cannot go wrong with any of their pizzas, and the cacio e pepe never misses here.
I have eaten at Coltivare a few times in the past and I have always left satisfied. The service is great, the food good, and the atmosphere is pretty loud if dining indoors but still fun. I would suggest doing the patio when it's not as swelteringly hot outside. Parking can be a bit annoying when it's busy but there's plenty of options around the street and it's quite easy to walk from there. I highly recommend getting a reservation; that is what we did and we had zero wait although we came a few minutes early for our 8 PM slot on Wednesday. You really can't go wrong with any of the things on their menu. You can always count on the vegetables/fruit at Coltivare being fresh and executed well. The bread is also excellent. We split everything - I would definitely recommend that style of ordering as portions are perfect for sharing. The dishes we ordered went perfectly with the white and rosé wine we ordered. We got the Local Sungold Tomatoes with the Whipped Goat Cheese, Local Watermelon and Candied Pecan Salad, and Roasted Corn Ribs for our apps. Everything was on point. The sourdough bread that comes with the tomatoes is from Magnol and I strongly suggest saving a piece for the rest of the dishes! The melon in the salad was crisp, juicy, and paired well with the candied pecans. The corn ribs were one of my favorites of the night, but it does get messy. Thankfully, disposable towelettes were provided beforehand. For our entrée we got the Rainbow Trout with Gooseberries. The tartness of the berries brought a lively note to the perfectly-cooked fish and the charred vegetables. Finally, for dessert, we got the Corn Cake with Cream and Blueberries. The cake was light, fluffy, and did not taste strongly of corn. It felt a bit like a Texan-style shortcake. I would recommend trying it out! Coltivare is a great spot to have a special dinner. I've never been let down by the experience here. Would love to come back to try the Crostata too!
Tried this restaurant recently and really loved the ambience and quality of food that was served. When we arrived, the restaurant was busy so we did have to wait about 30 minutes before we could be seated. We decided to do first available and ended up being seated at the bar. Inside the restaurant is pretty small so it can be very loud and difficult to have conversations at times. They have an outdoor patio and garden as well that you can choose to sit at. What we ordered: Focaccia & burrata was 10/10 oh my gosh. My friend and I quite literally ate the entire thing and were too full to even eat our entrees. The focaccia was so incredibly delicious, fluffy and paired with the burrata took it to another level. Please order this if you try this place out!
Came here after an event later at night - I was glad they open til 10am compared to some other restaurants in the area. Food wise I enjoyed their appetizer a lot. The burrata and the focaccia was super yummy. The goat cheese salad was good too-and I used the cheese salad as another dipping for my. my focaccia bread from burrata appetizer. Olives were ok - they were just olives. But I like olives, so I can't complain. The pizza was pretty good. Super fluffy crust but the middle was pretty thin. Very Italian although I can't say it's my favorite pizza. It's just a common, pepperoni pizza.
Coltivare is marketed as a high-end pizza and Italian food spot. However, there were a lot of things in my dining experience that did not quite measure up to the "fine dining" experience. First of all, the food wasn't great. I got the focaccia and burrata, which was probably my best dish of the evening. It was a basic starter plate, some cheese and bread. The cheese fell was nice and soft, but the bread was a little burnt and dry. The oil was a nice touch though. My next dish was the fried oyster mushrooms. This dish did not have a lot of substance to it and the aioli was a bit too mustardy for my taste. Not a terrible dish, but I was expecting more out of it. My entree was the capellini. This was pretty disappointing. The lemon was extremely overpowering. It was like pasta with a sour warhead sauce. The lobster also added very minimal flavor to the dish due to the overpowering sauce. I will say, the cocktails were great. I got an espresso martini, which tasted great and had a great presentation. I also tried both Old Fashioned cocktails, which weren't extremely different, but were both great. The service was another point of controversy. It was a little crowded when we arrived, but I couldn't really get a hold of the waiter the entire dinner. He was in and out very quickly and it was almost impossible to get his attention. I also asked for a starter with my cocktail, and he told me he wasn't going to bring appetizers out before the entree. I thought the point of an appetizer was to come before the entree. I will say, the water guy was very attentive, filling my cup every time it got about halfway empty. My waiter just must have had too many tables to deal with at once. The ambience was the best part of this restaurant. The lighting was very elegant and the outdoor area was amazing, like a little garden in the park. Each table also had little silverware drawers, which I thought was an amazing touch. Overall, Coltivare is more of a looker than a place with real substance. Due to my poor experience with food and service, this establishment earned 7/20 Freys. FREY OUT!
All was well! Made reservations ahead of time and got seated right away. For drinks, ordered something off of the cocktail menu which was an Amaretto Sour (refreshing and made nicely). Light bites, we got the Cauliflower (smell was so good/kinda sweet and savory and had a good crunch from the pine nuts) and also ordered the focaccia with burrata (great pairing + the balsamic as well). For the mains, it was deff both shareable entrees and got the Bolognese with additions of meatballs (tender, not dry at all and the pasta was cooked al dente) and the Pepperoni Pizza (huge portion and had everything you needed to be topped on a pizza - arugula, cheese, pepperoni). For dessert, we got the Roasted local strawberries & hibiscus crostata, cream + topped with a vanilla icecream. It was that yummy pairing of an al a mode. I liked the strawberry idea as well. Good amount of seating indoors and outdoors. The waitress was attentive and made good menu suggestions. Parking - Street Parking.
After 8 years, I thought it was time to go back to Coltivare and update my review! Came by sporadically on a Sunday evening with a girlfriend! Came a bit earlier, at like 5:45pm and it was still fairly empty so we got seated right away! Lots of things on the menu peaked my interest, as always, so we ordered several dishes to share! - Salad with Duck Confit A little on the vinegary side. Didn't like the choice of croutons - some multigrain cracker like crouton. The flavors were alright. Duck tender though the dressing overwhelmed the flavors of anything else! Not my favorite salad 3/5 -Mussels They were tiny tiny, but you get quite a few of them. The sauce was delicious and we thanked the waitress for telling us to add bread cause you want to soak up all the sauce! Maybe on of my favorite things on the menu tonight! 5/5 -Local Mushroom Pizza The crust was light. Crispy where it needed to be and soft at the same time! I enjoyed the texture of the dough, though it wasn't the most flavorful dough. The local mushrooms were alright, the white mushrooms were a bit pickled but sweet. Pizza needed a bit more flavor and cheese cause parts of it were dry. We did enjoy it though. 4/5 -Black Pepper Spaghetti Super spicy cause of all the black pepper! Tonight the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and there was lots of cheese! I enjoyed the dish tonight. 4/5 -Rigatoni Mmmm.. perfectly cooked noodles with a lemony ricotta and meat sauce! This was delicious! 5/5 Drinks again were underwhelming.. I think they were just light on liquor. Garden had fresh veggies and herbs growing.. though I was eaten by mosquitoes! However, it was a delightful evening - perfect fall evening and I left content and full! Parking can be a pain but there's ample space on the neighborhood - be careful for neighbors putting up do not park signs.
Loved this place! My friend took us here as it's one of their favorite Houston restaurants, and it lived up to its reputation. We sat outside in the garden which was very cute and comfortable. Foccacia is a must. I had the black pepper spaghetti with chicken added which was simple yet delicious. My friends got the pizza which they also enjoyed. Espresso Martinis were also delicious! There was a little mix up on the reservation number/location but they were still able to accommodate us on time.
Fantastic patio, attentive service and delicious food! We eat with our eyes, right? And then we are so happy when it is so tasty!! Four in our party and we shared everything, except the cocktails which are not pictured but were inventive and tasty! Reservations recommended, esp for patio! I came here last night after Katie (the Austin CM) recommended this place, and I loved it! The food was absolutely amazing, and the ambiance is very nice!! Unfortunately, the service in the beginning was terrible. We had an extremely rude waiter after waiting for an extremely long time on him, we asked another waiter for waters and so we could at least put in drinks or apps (they have a 90 minute dining limit due to COVID currently). The waiter came back to our table and snapped at me for asking someone else and made a few snarky remarks. Very luckily, the manager saved the night for us. He came over as this happened and took over our table for the night. He was so kind and funny! If it hadn't been for him, this review would have a very different rating, so shoutout to him Anyways...moving on to food and drink breakdown!! I ordered The Princess drink and it was amazing 10/10 We ordered the Focaccia: (they were out of Burrata, so will have to return to try it!) It was okay, but nothing too special--- 6.5/10 Cauliflower with pine nuts and raisins: very yummy--- 7.5/10 Cacio e pepe: Absolutely amazing--- 10/10!!! Pizza: (Chicken, prosciutto, fresh tomato, sage, saba with an added egg)--- 8.5/9 Ravioli: This just wasn't as amazing as all the other plates--- 7/10 Wood roasted Texas strawberry crostata cream: HEAVENLY--- 9/10 I feel like the Ravioli was a touch small portion-wise, but other than that I felt like portion sizes were really good!! This place has got to be the best Italian restaurant in all of Houston. Atmosphere: I had no idea they had a large backyard garden dining area and was seated there without a choice. I'm so happy I was placed there! We dined here on a cooler Houston day so the humidity was tolerable. It was fun to see the different vegetables and the overall outdoor aesthetic feel of eating at your Nonna's patio. However, it is important to note that with all outdoor dining the flies are ravenous and honestly diminish the dining experience a little. Food: One word summarizes the food here - Awestruck. As someone who eats Italian food daily, this place has a stupendous menu full of eclectic dishes. While here my dining partner and I had the mussels, the grilled figs, the local squash pizza, and the chicken. The mussels I am told were absolutely delicious because you can taste the mussels without the broth being overpowering. The grilled figs came with prosciutto and you could substitute the blue cheese out which I did for ricotta. It was so good that honestly no words can describe the symphony of flavor that happened. As for the pizza, I 10/10 recommend. It was the perfect summer treat with different squashes on a bed of gooey water Buffalo cheese, some seared shallots all on a bed of sweet corn sauce. I would have eaten the whole pizza if I didn't want to spare some room for dessert! The chicken was extremely tender with a hint of spice. There were slices of pickles grapes that made for a fun pop of flavor! As for dessert, the portions are very good and I went for the Texan peach crostata. It was absolutely divine. Definitely worth saving room for! If you are a cocktail person, you can't go wrong with ordering the Stylish Spritz during the summer! I can't wait to go back and eat here! read more
Amazing. Got the 4 cheese pizza (the crust was wow delicious), gnocchi, and apple crostata (with vanilla gelato). 10/10 would recommend all of the dishes. Our waitress was Kiera. She was incredibly helpful in choosing dishes, patient with us, and so prompt with our order. Service was impeccable. I cant wait to go back and try the other dishes! read more

Nice ambiance, had seat at bar, they are very kind and helpful and accommodating small requests we had. Now lets talk about food. Small plates portion are pretty big, I think. We ordered 2 small plates, 1 side and 1 entree and split between 2 of us. Lets talk about food... Grilled chicken was soooo moist and plump and loved it except, it could be more tasty. It was a but bland I thought. Cauliflower was lovely. Burrata cheese with Focaccia bread was so so bland. Eunice had awesome one so I was hoping something similar but it was not. Backyard green I like it, felt healthy. I will like to try different dishes read more

Coltivare is absolutely excellent. Their outdoor seating in the garden is perfect for a romantic date. We ordered the arancini, whipped ricotta, black pepper spaghetti and a pizza. Everything was perfectly executed and the staff was attentive without being obsequious and the kitchen was quick. Definitely recommended. read more

This is a nice neighborhood place to go with the family. They have a huge outdoor patio with a pretty little garden and some benches to sit and enjoy a drink while waiting for your table. Kids have some place to walk as well. Service was really good too. But food wise, I was hoping for better tasting food compared to other family friendly restaurants such as North Italia. It was expensive as well. We tried pretty much everything from each category of the menu and found everything to be good but not great. Focaccia bread with burrata- 5/5 this was my favorite item Stuffed calamari - 4/5 Shrimp pizza - 3/5 Black pepper spaghetti- 4/5 Agnolotti with truffles - 4.5/5 my favorite entree Grouper filet - 3.5/5 All the items were good but not amazing. It was also really expensive compared to other casual eateries in the same category. read more
Re-review- my last review was March 2020, then a pandemic hit, and I spent the next year and two months dreaming of going back. That dream came true last night, attended with 3 girl friends, put our name down on our way home from work (given a 2 hour wait time), changed and came back 30 minutes later, ended up being seated probably an hour before our original wait time. You only have 5 minutes to claim your table, so don't go too far if you choose our method of putting name down and coming back. You can still sit in the garden and have drinks while you wait, which I personally love. Drinks: We ordered from the seasonal cocktail menu, I got the sliver slipper and my friends all got the mezcal drink, we loved both of these. Then followed up by splitting a bottle of Tuscany wine. 5/5 for all Food: started the with burrata (5/5) and prosciutto (5/5), which I might just have to order every-time I come here. Split the margarita pizza (5/5), ricotta gnocchi (5/5), chickpea fries (3/5) and roasted cauliflower (3/5) for dinner. Overall: Coltivare is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston and I look forward to coming here again read more

Quaint and artsy. From the second we walked in great service was ahead. Manager, host and server were all very welcoming. Decided to grab a bottle of Pino Gris to enjoy during dinner. Was pretty solid. Could tell the bottle had sat a while since the cork broke during presentation but the manager was able to assist and get it opened. App was the olives which were amazing. Gotta be careful of the pits though. A ramekin was provided though so it was still a pleasant appetizer. From there we went for the Shrimp pizza and the Mushroom and pecan pizza. Both were amazing. I would order those again for sure. Be careful when you do though. They were quite large. 8 slices for a 12" was a bit much. But great value. After dinner cocktail of Buca was enjoyed by myself and presentation was correct. Chilled , neat with coffee beans floating. Only drawback would be the breaking of the dishes during dinner. First break was glassware and app plate dropped behind my date. Startled both of us and did get some glass spread underneath us. Not a big deal. It happens. Fast forward ten to fifteen min and three plates were dropped again right behind us. This time we had plates shattered next to us on the same spot. We decided to move away from the area and get to a safer spot. After this things became pleasant again. Overall great spot. Great food. Great service. Just wasn't prepared for shattering in the background. read more

Favorite restaurant in houston, hands down. I've been going here since they opened and they are as consistent as it gets. The black pepper spaghetti and any pizza on the menu is to die for (though I've never had tastier pepperoni). I'd eat it any night or the week if I could! Service is always spot on, and even if you don't have a reservation, they do their best to make room for you. Don't forget to order the coltivare g&t! All around awesome vibes! read more

We had a 7:15 reservation and arrived at 6:45 and they seated us right away and were very kind and gracious. Our server answered all of our questions and made great suggestions. We got focaccia bread, a margarita pizza, bolognese, and the meatballs. All were excellent! We rarely get dessert at any restaurant but decided to try the strawberry crostata and our server suggested we add a scoop of vanilla gelato on top and it was delicious! Overall we had a delicious dinner! read more

Such a cute place, always packed on the weekends so I recommend reservations but my husband and I have walked in and had a drink across the street at EZs while we waited for a table. What makes their pizzas are the fresh toppings but I'm convinced that Houston pizza just isn't amazing it was also a little unevenly cooked but I would still give my experience a 4.7. I would skip the pizza get the pasta, meat balls, mussels with a side of the focaccia bread for dipping (to die for) and the broccoli salad and go to town! The salad has so much depth of flavor. Their gin and tonics are also amazing to enjoy on the back patio. read more

Been wanting to check this place out and Houston Restaurant week (HRW) was the perfect push to get us in the door. Had a lovely dinner out on the patio with string lights and greenery with a nice atmosphere. There was no wait to sit outside on a Saturday at 6pm, but inside was busy and loud so we preferred outside anyways. For appetizers we had the cauliflower and fried heirloom okra which were very tasty unique dishes. We preferred the cauliflower and highly recommend getting it! Not sure if this is always on the menu but the pepperoni pizza for HRW was spectacular. The dough was fluffy and thick yet had a nice little crunch on the outside. It was topped with melty cheese, arugula, and shaved parmesan with huge pepperonis. They definitely know how to do pizza! Finally, the cocktail which is a twist on the aperol spritz was phenomenal. They have a great wine list and we also liked a Blanco from Spain. read more
By far one of the best restaurants that we have been to. The ingredients in their food is high quality and it is evident as we came back two days in a row. Coltivare has the best pizza crust that we've tried by far, crunchy yet soft inside with a hint of sweetness to the doe. This is what truly brought us back here. I loved the Revival Pepperoni; they used REAL pepperoni and the fresh arugula mixed in was just perfect. The combination of flavors was just everything! The Roasted Eggplant was similar to hummus but much tastier, it had just the right amount of saltiness. it was perfect with the bread! I don't know how to describe it but moving forward, I'd rather have this than the normal hummus. The Fried Chicken was not what we anticipated, in a good way. The herbs that were mixed in and touch of lemon, knocked it out of the park. It's a subtle flavor overall so if you're used to getting that very salty, fried wing or leg, this is the complete opposite. It's not oily at all either. The Chocolate Panna Cotta is something I am dreaming about as I write this review. The fullness and thickness of the panna cotta was amazing, it's a lot thicker than pudding but not as far as jello. If you're a chocolate fan, this one is a great pick. The roasted meringue on top of it is the perfect mix with this dessert. You seriously just have to try it! read more

N'DUJA, BRUSCHETTA, HONEY $6.25 2 pieces (3/5)- n'duja is a spreadable spicy pork sausage. It was good but oily. Couldn't taste the honey. SPAGHETTI, BLACK PEPPER, PARMESAN, OLIVE OIL $15.5 (4/5)- aka cacio e pepe. Good portion, we shared this. Haven't had this since Italy. It's super basic with no protein however we enjoyed it. Cooked al dente. 44 FARM BEEF TAGLIATA, FRESH CORN POLENTA, LOCAL TOMATO VINAIGRETTE $29 (2/5)- this must be a newer item (or not popular) bc there are hardly any reviews/pics. The steak was cooked medium, however it was bland and kind of chewy. At least it was a decent size portion. The corn polenta was the best part of this dish, reminded us of creamed corn. CHOCOLATE RUM CAKE, PISTACHIO BUTTERCREAM, SALTED CARAMEL GANACHE $9.50 (4.5/5)- best part! couldn't taste the rum, which is fine w/ me since I don't even like alcohol. It was a sweet dessert, which I love, the pistachios gave it a nice texture, I enjoyed the salty/sweet combo, and the different layers complimented very well. Definitely wish it were bigger for the price. We shared this even though it's more like a single serving, but after all the food, we were full. Saw a lot of people order pizza, which seemed pretty big for the price ($13.5-$18). Definitely shareable among 3 people probably if you're ordering other food. Overall, reasonably priced for a popular, trendy restaurant, however it's small so the wait is ridiculously long. We were quoted 1-1.5 hours for 2 on a Wednesday at 645pm. I usually assume the waits are shorter than quoted, and i was happy to have received a text just 30 minutes later saying your table is almost ready. However I check in with the hostess and we're waiting outside for about 10 minutes. I go back in to ask if it's almost ready, and she said they're taking their time, maybe 10 more minutes. This led me to believe that they text you when the previous table pays their bill? So in the end, total wait time was 50 minutes. Definitely make a reservation online (Resy) well in advance. Food was decent but not worth the trouble so won't be returning. Street parking also. read more
The atmosphere, the food and the service made the dinner very much enjoyable! We asked for an outdoor seating. Their have those cute light strings, surrounded by so many of their home grown plants. Covid spacing was correct and we felt comfortable. Now the fooood.. The pasta, cacio e pepe, is so good! Get it, get it. You may want to take some home too and enjoy more later! read more

I have been wanting to try Coltivare for years. Pre-Covid times the wait was just too long for a table. Post-Covid, they take reservations! In my head this was always an upscale Italian restaurant but I've learned its more like a treasured neighborhood spot. A lot of folks just show up in sweats and jeans, super casual. The price of food is responsible. Portion size is normal, not a chain Italian place that over does it. The calamari, cacio e pepe, and beef cheek ravoli were all amazing! I will definitely be back to try the bolognese soon. read more
My husband and I chose Coltivare for a Fri date night. We have eaten here before and loved it. This time we felt our main course food was a little mediocre. For appetizers we both shared Arancini which was Fabulous and N'duja which was just ok. My husband ordered Rigatoni which had tasty shrimp and great flavors but the sauce did not coat the pasta very well making it hard to eat and enjoy the flavors. I ordered the lamb which was a seasonal dish. The risotto was amazing that came with the lamb but the lamb itself was super fatty and could only get about 4 bits of meat from it. We felt that for the price ($30) that there should have been more edible meat. The manager did assist us in getting another dish which was the same for no charge. The good part is that we did get full but we're not happy with the cut of meat with the lamb being fatty. For dessert, we each had a chocolate rum cake that was super tasty and probably one of our most favorite desserts when dining out. The service was really good!! All in all, we will be back but will order different main courses on our next visit. read more

I was excited to try Coltivare for the first time, but my experience here was truly underwhelming. We ordered the 4 cheese pizza and it came out looking like wet cheese (pictures down below). Also had the fettuccine pasta and it tasted bland (even with the pesto on the bottom and I am a huge pesto fan). Honestly, both dishes were lacking in flavor. The garden outside is a nice scene but I would sit away from the garden due to all the flies & mosquitos. Our server was great with checking in on us, no problem there, just with the food. read more

First time checking out this restaurant recently and was highly disappointed. We sat out on the patio - and while the ambiance was nice - the tables were crowded close together and it was very loud and hard to talk to the person sitting next to you. The service was decent when we inquired about menu options but they were very slow. Wines by the glass are limited. The food itself was definitely nothing to write home about. I had the spaghetti with black pepper and literally the only flavor was pepper - it was very overwhelming. I get it's supposed to have a black pepper flavor but this was bad and nothing like I've had elsewhere. The pasta was otherwise bland and lacked salt, basically all around poorly seasoned. The parking is also difficult in this area. Overall this place doesn't live up to the hype and I won't be returning. read more

First we live about half a mile from here. At first I thought it was ridiculous to spend so much on food but I got a gift card from a business customer so I thought we would try it out. The spaghetti pomodoro was exactly what you would expect. We wanted to order the meatballs but at 3 for $20....no thank you. We ordered the pepperoni pizza as recommended and the focaccia with burrata. See the pics of the 'bread' literally half of it was inedible and the burrata for an extra $12.75......why?!?!?! The pizza was barely decent again the $13.00 pomodoro was good. So for $60+ including tip. I would say no thank you. read more

No. There is not.
What is the un-corking fee at Coltivare? I understand this is a BYOB.
I don't recall BYOB as they have an extensive wine and cocktail list...

No valet. They don't have a designated parking lot so parking is usually on side streets

Do they use a texting system to let you know your table is ready? Thinking about coming an hour earlier than when we want to eat to put our names in after reading all the comments about long wait times.
Yeah they use the texting system but the garden is really nice to get a drink and talk. Totally half the fun in my opinion!
Are we allowed to bring our own cake for cutting without a serving fee?
I do not know this answer so you need to call. I doubt they do. Many restaurants now don't charge per my experience.

We went at 5 PM on a Thursday and was seated immediately! There is sometimes a line right at 5 PM because people line up ahead of time but your best bet is going as early as possible!
Do they accommodate parties larger than 6?
The website says no. Called once and they also said if it's a larger party, the tables must be divided with no guarantee of being sat near each other or at the same time. I wouldn't try it.
