    Eggrolls

I recently ordered food from here on Father's Day and everything was great! I went to Katsuo next door the week before and knew I'd have to come back and try Com Tâm. They're running a promo: free drink with $35+ online order! Use code freedrink. I was able to try their Thai iced tea-- sweet and creamy! Choose from that, Viet coffee, lychee lemonade, passionfruit lemonade, or dragon lady. Order at the kiosk inside or online. I placed two pick up orders after deciding to try the vermicelli & get dad the pho along with some rice boxes. Eats: *Big Bro box: choose your meat! Comes with their super umami egg meatloaf, grilled shrimp paste on sugarcane, and shredded pork skin with rice. I got bone-in pork chop for myself and grilled chicken for everyone else. I added a fried egg to half the boxes I ordered too. Lil bro box comes with a fried egg already. *Shrimp & Avocado Spring rolls *Fried Eggrolls (chicken & shrimp) *Combo Vermicelli with grilled chicken, comes with 2 grilled shrimp & eggroll *Combo pho noodle soup (rare beef, beef ball, brisket) I loved the egg meatloaf! It was so savory and rich in flavor with glass noodles and bits of wood ear mushroom inside. I'll have to try the pork skewer option next time (off skewer for easy eating). It was cool having avocado in the shrimp spring roll. Eggrolls were crisp and delicious. Vermicelli was fresh and not watery at all. Everyone enjoyed the grilled chicken. My parents were nostalgic about the sugar cane. They used to drink the juice from them back in the Philippines. Food is served in paper boxes and to go ware, convenient if you can't finish when dining in. Friendly customer service! They're so nice and repeatedly told me I had more bags/drinks coming. I just had so many items ordered I had to make a few trips to the car. Can't wait to order again!

We were excited to see a com tâm place open up as the last time I had broken rice dishes was a long time ago and in San Jose. The ease of ordering from the screen is nice and there was plenty of seating. Our food came out really quickly and we also got two drinks. The dragon lady is a dragon fruit lemonade and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. I had the grilled chicken lil bro plate and my husband got the pork chop lil bro plate. The portions were perfect in the Lil Bro plate and I finished every bite! My only qualm was trying to cut my meat in a takeaway box was a bit cumbersome; I would've totally had an easier time eating off a plate but nonetheless the food was great!

Com Tom Bros is located in Hayward near the Costco on Hesperian and Industrial. I heard that this Vietnamese restaurant had just opened. I finally got around to checking it out the day before the 4th of July. I got there before opening, but the doors were already open and people waiting inside. The staff let me know they weren't open yet, but I was welcome to wait inside. There are two ways to order: at the kiosks or at the counter with a live person. I chose the latter. I selected the Iced Tea Lemonade, the Crispy Egg Rolls, the Little Bros Plate with Korean Short Ribs, and the Vermicelli Plate with Grilled Chicken -- to go. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. I was given a number 7, and I took a seat to wait. The drink was ready first and brought to my table. Then a staff member came out to verify my order. Soon, my food was ready and brought to me. All throughout my wait, there was plenty of foot traffic entering and ordering. The food was excellent. The Crispy Egg Rolls were indeed crispy. The Little Bros Plate was definitely filling. The Korean Short Ribs were well-seasoned. I'll definitely be back at a less busy time to sample more of their menu items.

Com Tam Bros. Opened recently where Blue Ginger was. Totally renovated with a fast food setup. Order at the front. Pd. Food brought to me in 5 minutes. Korean folk music in background. 7ish tables inside, 2 outside Offerings (Vietnamese); broken rice entrees, pho, vermicelli bowls, appetizers, Viet classics, refreshers.. Slurps: Combination Pho (15.99) -10% off soft opening special till 6/15/26. -savory beef broth with jalepeno slices, basil leaves, bean sprouts, lemon squeeze, sriracha sauce & hoisin sauce on side -lotsa pho noodles, tender slices of beef, some meatball halves, green onions in broth. 4.5 stars. Associates very helpful. Quantity/quality very good. Bus ur own table. *parking difficult at peak times. Located at far end of Costco parking lot

Food - solid! I got their grilled pork skewer rice plate. Their pho also was surprisingly good. Broth was beefy and soup was piping hot which I love. Flavors were on point for both dishes. Wish portions were bigger given the price tag. The rice plate only came with a very small portion of pork. Also I'm not a fan of how everything is served in paper boxes and to go utensils, even for dine in. Their to go box made it very difficult to eat out of. They have one high chair available for babies so that's nice. Overall it's a nice addition to the Costco plaza. Great for a quick lunch or dinner if you're craving Vietnamese.

My cousin and I wanted to try out Com Tam Bros since they recently opened up near us. I ended up ordering the big bro plate which came with four items, (Your choice of protein, shredded pork skin (bì), Vietnamese egg meatloaf (chả trứng), and grilled shrimp paste on sugarcane (chạo tôm). Served with broken rice, fresh vegetables, scallion oil, and house fish sauce.) My choice of protein was the grilled chicken. I did also order a Vietnamese coffee and forgot to take a photo. The staff was very friendly and helpful with making sure our items were made correctly and answering our questions. The establishment was very up kept. My order waa very delicious. The Vietnamese coffee was very good and not overly sweet. I most definitely will add Com Tam Bros into my dining rotation!

For a quick and easy lunch this place is the ticket! They were featured in the newspaper recently so hubs and I wanted to check it out! Located across from the Union City Costco and in the shopping center where Five Guys and Starbucks is located. We were lucky and got a parking space right in front. It was around 12:15 pm so all the seats inside were taken but after we ordered at the counter (there's also a kiosk where you can order inside), we waited at one of the two tables inside. The inside is clean and spacious. The cashier told us she would let us know when a table inside was available as we had my older sister with us and she would feel more comfortable inside. Once we got a table inside, we had Vietnamese iced coffee, Thai iced tea and shared the Big Brother Short Rib Plate and Big Brother Pork Skewer Plates and enjoyed the refreshing iced coffee and iced tea as well the tasty short ribs and pork skewers. For a quick meal in a box (take out or eat in) this place is the ticket. They gave us little platters so we could share the two orders.

Yay!! I'm so happy that a com tam place opened up near me and now I don't have to drive all the way to San Jose! Located in the small plaza near Costco - this parking lot gets hectic. You can either order at the front or on the tablets inside. The place seems like a to-go style, grab&go type of place, but they do have plenty of seating both inside and outside the restaurant! I ordered a big bro plate with pork skewers - this plate comes loaded with plenty of meat, a huge dollop of broken rice topped with fried pork skin, steamed egg cake (cha trung), pork skin (bi), and a shrimp sugarcane skewer (chao tom). It seems like their displayed menu is slightly different than the tablet one - the display menu says it comes with a fried egg, but the one on the tablet says it comes with chao tom? Super easy fix though, I'm sure they're still working out some minor kinks. They do serve everything in to-go containers, but I overheard the workers saying that they're planning on changing that in the near future! The flavors at the place are delicious, reminds me a lot of the flavors you'd get at Com Tam Thien Huong (iykyk). A good com tam plate is only as good as their nuoc mam - I would have liked the nuoc mam to be sliiightly sweeter, but the chili paste they provide on the table made up for it. This chili paste isn't your standard sambal from a jar, it's super fresh and SPICY. The pork skewers weren't dry at all, and had a strong lemongrass flavor, and grilled to perfection. They provide a LOT of bi, which I was super happy about! The cha trung was super juicy and flavorful, but had a touch too much vermicelli in it in my opinion. The chao tom was good, a standard grilled shrimp paste, but still delicious. Everything was just slightly too salty, but eating everything with the rice, salad, and do chua really helps to balance everything out. Overall the flavors at this place remind me of home, very authentically Vietnamese! I'll definitely be back to check out more of their menu items!!

Came here shortly after their grand opening announcement. Their Big Bro Plate for $19.99 is worth it! And the Passionfruit lemonade paired well with it. The service was pretty quick even though they were busy and the ambiance was casual and clean.

Newly open Vietnamese broken rice near us, awesome. At the moment, they serve everything in "to go" boxes but not sure if that's forever. I should've asked. Got 3 orders and took it home with us, and portion is not bad. Although, I have been to other authentic Vietnamese Com Tam in San Jose which doesn't compare. I see this place as a fast food com tam which I like when I'm craving it since it's so close to us. Place isn't huge but has enough space for eating there. Food isn't bad as well, again it being a fast food com tam. Prices are reasonable too. The menu isn't extensive so it's easy to decide what to get. Parking isn't a problem too! I mean if there's no parking, which I think will never happened, you can park at the Costco parking lot. But yeah, welcome to the neighborhood and glad you're here.

Came by Com Tam Bros around 2:30pm on Saturday and the place was full, which was a good sign. We originally sat outside but moved inside once a table opened up. We ordered the Big Bro Short Rib Plate, Beef Pho, Lychee Lemonade, and Thai Tea. I had wanted the dragon fruit lemonade, but they were sold out, and they were also sold out of the Viet coffee, which made me kinda sad. The short rib tasted good, but for the price, I don't think the value was quite there. I had eaten right before, and I think that if I hadn't done that, I wouldn't have been full. The egg cake was a bit on the bland side, and they forgot the fried egg. There's a four dollar up charge for the short rib, which is standard. If I were to come back, I would order the pork skewers because the value would be better. I really enjoyed the Lychee Lemonade, though I felt like they could have used less ice. My wife loved the Thai tea. Overall, the food tasted good. The owner (or someone on staff) came by and gave us a free Vietnamese dessert, a coconut jelly type of thing in a cup. For free, it was not bad. We also got 10% off because they just opened. Overall it's a new restaurant, so they're still learning and figuring things out. But I would definitely recommend this place.

Com Tam Bros is a hair shy of Com Tam Thien Huong down in San Jose and Milpitas. For my Vietnamese people iykyk and for those who don't, this is a high praise. With that said I think with proper feedback Com Tam Bros can reach their full potential. Their team seems young, enthusiastic and absolutely eager to succeed. So let's start with the praises and work our way to the feedback. For those new to com tam, it's referred to as broken rice in english. The name refers to the broken rice grains that come with this particular dish and requires special grains/process to make. When eating Vietnamese rice dishes you want to see if the rice is truly broken and not using normal jasmine rice. I can confirm that this place's broken rice was made perfectly moist with enough room for fish sauce. As for the meats they definitely don't skimp out. You get three skewers for the thit xien nuong and my family's pork chops were all super hefty. They came home and immediately smelt the food which meant it was cooked/smoked correctly. All great signs. Now let's go through some of the feedback. I feel like a lot of folks who tried this place on grand opening were overly critical. Since they were new I expected some small hiccups and therefore my rating reflects those hiccups. 1. They forgot the Bi, in the Big Bro plate (4 mon). It would had been perfect if it was executed properly. 2. Their online ordering system may had gone down the same day or bugging out, but it didn't let me order ahead so I just went in person instead. It didn't look as busy so I was wondering what happened. Definitely look into this. 3. The meats were ever so slightly salty. A pinch less of salt and you guys would've nailed it perfectly. This is a very easy fix. 4. I would recommend a spicy nuoc mam or fish sauce. The one you have now is a bit on the blander side and doesn't add much to the dish. I know this too is an easy fix. But besides these very minor things in my opinion, Com Tam Bros have the DNA of a great broken rice restaurant. Their flavors are near perfect, their operations is only going to improve, and I believe they will only get better with time. So overall give this spot a try if you're a Vietnamese food fan and they have other dishes like pho here as well. Im looking forward to being a regular and hoping to update my review.

They were busy as usual so we ordered to go. We ordered a grilled pork banh mi, grilled chicken banh mi, banh cuon, and grilled pork rice plate. Everything was very tasty and delicious. A favorite for Vietnamese food in the area that's for sure. Can't wait til they open their new location soon. Even tho it won't be in CV..I don't mind driving to the Stack. I still need to try their other items including their pho.

My bf and I came an hour before closing and it was packed, but were able to get a seat as soon as we walked in. They have plenty of seating for large groups or smaller parties. The food here never disappoints! Ordered the large rare beef pho with extra beef on the side, the shrimp spring rolls and the fried potstickers. The pho is the best I've ever had. The broth is flavorful and seasoned to perfection. The soup is packed with meat and noodles. The spring rolls are fresh, the ingredients they use really make a difference in quality of the food. The fried potstickers are crunchy and delicious and the sauce they paired it with was sweet and balanced the flavor of the potstickers. Even though it was busy, the kitchen was quick and we had our food within minutes of ordering. This place has so much more than pho, I'll be back to try more from their extensive menu!

I was going to get Pho but the Bun Rieu looked pretty appealing and it's not a usual item to be offered so I opted for Bun Rieu. My daughter got garlic noodles with beef instead. Both items were very good and filling. I like the fact that I can choose the size of my Bun Rieu as most places only offer one size and it's usually for Pho rather than Bun Rieu. Might try their Bun Bo Hue next time. The place gets pretty packed around lunch time so it's a good sign that it's a popular joint for lunch. We arrived just after 12pm. If we were a little later, we might not get a table at all. There was plenty of parking in the strip mall. There's a cheap gas Arco just around the corner.

This visit was finally my lucky day, and I'm glad I stuck with it because it was worth the wait. The restaurant was clean, welcoming, and had a comfortable atmosphere. The staff greeted us with a smile, answered our questions, and were friendly throughout the visit. I ordered a bowl of pho with a side of spring rolls, and both were delicious. Everything tasted fresh, the flavors were well balanced, and the portions were satisfying without feeling overly heavy. One feature I really appreciated was the ability to choose from a small, medium, or large bowl. It's a nice option whether you're looking for a lighter lunch or a hearty meal. There are still several menu items I'd like to try, so I'll definitely be back. My only suggestion is to be patient if you're driving because parking can be a challenge during busy times. Once you get inside, though, the food and service make it well worth the effort.

The staff told her we wouldn't be seated unless our entire party was present. About 4 people were late, but they still seated us. The restaurant kind of felt old and somewhat dirty. But hey, it was my dad's birthday. I wasn't paying for lunch. We occupied three tables and ordered from both the lunch and dim sum menus. I enjoyed dishes like shiu mai, pork buns, walnut shrimp, fried rice, fish, and fried noodles. The sesame balls were tasty, but the service was slow, and I had to follow up on our order. I didn't care for the bun with the hot dog or the other noodle dish. Later that day, my daughter mentioned she had found hair in a pork bun and that her cousin had eaten it. She also said every item he picked up had hair on it, which was disappointing. I didn't confirm this with my cousin, but it would have been helpful to have someone inform the staff. Fortunately, no one at our table found hair in their food, which was a relief. Overall, the food that I ate was fine, but I wouldn't make a special trip from San Jose to visit again...unless it's a fambam family treat.
