On July 20, 2022, I purchased and closed on a Newly Built Home from the Dr. Horton Builder. The Carrier HVAC Unit was installed by Combined Services HVAC. In December of 2022, the HVAC unit Malfunctioned, and the Heater stopped working. Since this was a Brand New Home and Combined Services HVAC installed this unit - Andrew from Combined Services was sent to my home and was able to get the heat going. In July of 2024, Combined Services installed a Reme Halo System but failed to install the transformer (I have the original box this system came in and noticed the transformer is still in this original box - purchased from Combined Services). In December of 2024, this Unit Malfunctioned for the 2nd time, the technician from Combined Service informed me there is a broken part on this unit - and they need to order and install the missing part - an "inducer cooling wheel." This system also made large noises and the air distribution is completely unbalanced. I no longer hear the noises, but the air distribution is still extremely poor - the Primary Bedroom & Bathroom receive most of the air and or heat even though the vents are closed. read more

This is one of those rare reviews that is split into two. To start off with, this is NOT about the technicians. This is about the sales people, specifically about one. I've used Combined before and I have to say the techs that came out were spot on, professional and courteous. This is about the behavior or lack thereof of customer service of a certain salesman. I called three weeks before to schedule an appointment, this was on a Friday (May 9, 2025). The receptionist took me number and said the salesman is out but would call back ASAP and even on a Saturday if he could. I thought wow, that's service. Boy was I wrong. Three weeks went by without a telephone call from a salesperson. During the fourth week, from that Friday on Wednesday ( May 28, 2025) of the fourth week, I called Combined again and she transferred me to the salesman who happened to be in. I asked him why he didn't call back and his response was " I have your info right here, I meant to call Back" that was a red flag but I decided to ignore his comment. We set up his visit for that Friday ( May 30, 2025) two days from Wednesday's call, for 3 O'Clock. Come Friday 3 O'clock, no show. 3:30, 3:45 no show, no call. I call Combined to find out what happened and they transfer me to the sales desk. His buddy picks up the phone and tells me that my salesman is in but in the toilet so he put me on hold. This "sales guy" answers the phone while in the background I hear him buckling his belt, WTF I'm thinking to myself? I ask him why he wasn't here for the appointment and he says that he was coming after 3. What? I ask him what does that mean after 3? Could he give me a time estimate and he raised his voice and said " I said after 3" I was stunned, I took time off, had a medical emergency with my dog, and this fool's response was after 3 while buckling his pants. I got agitated and wanted a normal response of an actual time and he responded "you are getting off on the wrong foot with me" ,I'm thinking to myself, who does this guy think he is, I',m the customer and he's talking to me like I was a child? He's representing a company, talking and raising his voice to a customer and not even allowing me to say anything constantly interrupting me and trying to talk over me. Before I could ask for another salesperson he said something nasty and rude and slammed the phone down on me. I was shocked!! I guess I interrupted his day and he didn't need my business nor my subdivision's, my recommendation to the HOA board and to my neighbors is ZERO. I guess the company has no controls as it shamelessly allows their representatives/salespeople to abuse and talk back to customers. I recommend the company hire some professional real salespeople that know how to talk to customers without insulting them. In the mean time I guess they really don't care about making money they must have too much of it. read more

I received worst service by this company. I had to pay 165$ for the job they did not do on the first place when I moved in the new house. since then I have been complaining about the cooling system is not working properly. Even after many engineers visited my house, no one could find the cause of this cooling issue. But finally after my one warranty is over, they found out this issue and charged 165$ for a fix. I did not use the cooking system for more than a year and now they had me pay to fix this issue. Worst customer service and not satisfied with the overall experience read more

Here is an update on my review of Combined Services HVAC. Yesterday, we discovered the new air conditioner installed by above does not work. They are supposed to come out in the spring to test after installing in the winter. I still have not heard from them on my previous review. Very poor way to run a business. read more

We moved into our new place less than a year ago and last weekend our air conditioner stopped working, of course during 90+ temps. We called the contractor, Saturday morning, who installed the units in our complex. They immediately called us back and scheduled to come in the early afternoon. Trey arrived as scheduled and after troubleshooting everything, it was determined the compressor was shot. Mind you, we are all sweating from the heat and humidity. Trey knew our tight schedule and along with the owner, worked hard to find a solution. Early Monday afternoon they replaced our unit and we finally felt relief. Despite this being a "hot" issue, Combined Service provided excellent customer service. Quick response, courtesy calls prior to leaving McHenry for our place, arrived on time, and went above and beyond. They are great! read more

Brian diagnosed a complicated problem and fixed the furnace. The quotes and charges were fair, and I found him to be honest. I'm really glad Combined Services did the work before winter set in. Amazing company, family owned and hardworking! They installed 2 ACs and 2 furnaces for me in our dual zone house. The first AC was installed last year and they did such a great job I knew we'd be using their services again. The 2 furnaces and original AC crapped out a few months ago and they were the first call we made to start the replacement process. We got a few quotes to see what everyone else in Grayslake could offer, boy what a waste! Combined was cheaper by literal THOUSANDS for the exact same equipment. It was a no-brainer to replace the entire system and the guys got it all done in 1 day! Everyone arrived promptly at 7am and the work was done before 5pm, no messes or debris left behind. We could not have been happier! I've given coworkers and patients their business info, which speaks volumes for a happy customer. Had them replace my 30yr old AC Condenser & 21 yr old furnace. Crew arrived promptly and wasted no time getting everything installed. I required a new lineset from the condenser to the A coil (in a completely finished basement) - Brian was able to install the lineset with a minimum amount holes in the drywall.
