First time at a Come Back Shack. Not really impressed. May give them another shot in the future, but unsure. Got the classic burger with cheese, seasoned fries, and medium drink. Over $15, so seems a little pricey for what I got - especially at a place that is completely self-service. Burger was good, fries were lifeless, soft, and didn't taste very good. I'm a crispy fry fan, so it's a bit subjective. Decor was nice, staff friendly, well laid out. As a good point, after ordering at the kiosk, getting my own cup and drink, and taking my number to the front to pay, they did *not* ask me to tip. Wise choice! I may try them again if I'm in the mood for a burger, but won't get the seasoned fries again. read more

Could not convince myself to be impressed with Come Back Shack. It's a step up from your traditional fast food, but that's mainly because of the feel of the restaurant, not necessarily the menu options. The open concept, adorned with open garage doors and a patio space, did make the experience better. As for my hot dog, it was good. My blueberry milkshake wasn't necessarily my favorite, but they have plenty of options to choose from there. read more

Guess I have found out... they charge extra for dining in..I questioned the bill today because I had just enough cash based of the price displayed on their board. I pressed them because I can compute pretty well and it was 25c more.. and after several requests of explanation they admitted they charge differently between drive through and dining in! Stopped by here while headed out of town. Love the hand written signs that explain what the business is about. The server was friendly and kind. We went through drive through and we didn't have a wait at all. The food came out fast. We were in and out and they serve grass feed beef. Turning out of the place making a left can be tricky, but not too bad. Hand cut Idaho potatoes for fries and they were plentiful and hot. The burger was very tasty. I wish I had ordered it with cheese. The burger was small, but satisfying. My husband felt like his Coke soda wasn't mixed right. Overall good experience and I would recommend it. read more

There are several protein options, lots of toppings & sauces & cheese options. They also have pre-set topping combinations that you can choose from. You can also add a "combo" of a drink & side options as well. The staff was very friendly & even though we were packed, service was fairly quick. They give you a number when you pay & bring the food to your table. There is a house sauce on the table & a sauce bar with honey mustard, hot sauce, etc. Their house sauce was tasty, as was their honey mustard. The fries were good & so was their sweet tea. I got the fried chicken sandwich with bbq, pineapple & pepperjack cheese. I wasn't that impressed. Maybe it was the toppings I chose, but it was just ok. Pretty dang delicious "fast food" All fresh made, nothing frozen, great burgers, hand cut fries good quality fixings. We had ranch fries, pretzel with cheese, a single cheeseburger for my 6 year old, I had the Fried Green Tomato Style Burger, wife had the Come Back Burger with Bacon and Bleu Cheese. Everything was quite good and the food cake super fast. If I did it all over again I'd omit the pretzel just as it wasn't necessary. The fries were crazy delicious, crispy and fresh potato flavor. Perfect base for the fry creations and they didn't wilt or get soggy under the toppings. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone seeking a quality fast food experience. I saw Come Back Shack pop up recently on University Blvd and it looked popular from the crowd parked outside, so I had to check it out. I had never heard of it before but I'm so glad I stopped by! Overall, this place is excellent! Not only is it extremely affordable, they offer so many delicious options for your burger and the service is extremely fast. The ordering process is pretty unique: You order to the left hand side of the restaurant by marking what you want on a large sheet of paper with all of their options. This personal, hands-on customization is honestly just super fun to do! You definitely can be specific about what you want or don't want. The menu has a lot of different options as well. There are regular burgers, ahi tuna burgers, chicken, salad, milkshakes, slushees (even sweet tea slushees), and more. I got the Carolina style burger my first visit, and it was delicious! It had mustard, slaw, chili, and pickles. I added pepper jack cheese and ordered a side of the Come Back fries also. The fries were tasty as well. Bacon, cheddar, and comeback sauce. So addictive. My second time around I made my own burger, with slaw, comeback sauce, pepper jack cheese, and pickles. Again, a very tasty experience. I've seen some other not so stellar reviews that look to have been written in the first week of opening. They remark that the service is slow, but that has not been my experience at all. On the past two times I've visited, I sat inside and have gotten my entire meal in record time. A less than 10 minute wait for sure. I was impressed with the service and speed. Man what a great lunch. Went by there after a hard day's work in Charleston on my way back to Columbia. This place is awesome! You can order from a kiosk, online, or with a human (staff there was very good and welcoming). The menu is expansive - you can order burgers, chicken, and have the burgers prepared anyway you'd like for them to be. Fries are a good choice too - hot and you can set them up anyway you like from plain to loaded. Drinks are good too. Tonight I went in for the first time. Was greeted by multiple workers, asking if it was our first time. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The food came out hot and fresh. Come Back Shack was a great pit stop for my family and I for lunch after a trip to Whirlin Waters at Wanamaker Park! Right across the street in North Charleston, the restaurant is inviting with a cool vibe inside and an outdoor patio for a Summer evening. Stopped by for lunch today and had a good experience! It was our first time and we were greeted and shown the ordering process right away. You walk in, fill out the order form and turn it in to pay. They bring you the food and ours was brought out within 5 minutes. One burger was messed up with wrong toppings but they fixed it right away no problem. Food was delicious! Burgers are up there with Five Guys. Fries were hot and good. My son got a hot dog and enjoyed it too. They had a "come back sauce" that was out of this world! We were dipping all of our food in it! Ended with a peach milkshake and wow it was better than Cookout or Chic-fil-A. Nice work! The meat and other various ingredients are sourced locally in SC. First time eating here, we went through the drive thru, my husband ordered number 12 chicken sandwich Cajun style, I ordered number 1. Service was quick. We pulled out heading back home and realized my husband didn't get the sandwich he ordered just a grilled chicken, didn't get ketchup for fries which we weren't asked. When you come in, there is a counter with lots of paper order forms to create your sandwich order. You can choose from the premade burgers or create to your hearts content. Paid an extra $2 for bacon and an extra dollar for cheddar cheese on my burger but it didn't come with any. Will not be coming back
