He quoted the project and after that explained all the details I was asking about (even I was asking quite a bit more than a usual customer would). As a result we slightly corrected his initial standard proposal to better fit my not quite standard case. His price was sure better than those big companies estimated. After being a customer of Allied Air Conditioning and Heating Corp. for 37 years and watching deterioration of service level there as well as a price increase I'm switching to ThermPro Heating and Cooling on a permanent base for all my HVAC needs. I can see that here you can talk it through and find solution (possibly even not a standard one) that will fit your needs and checkbook. Corporate America does not operate this way (it just cannot) - they have a set of rules and some company standards that they have to be within, but I, as a customer, do not care about. In addition to all I see that if we, consumers, will not support businesses like this one, we will be paying more for less service. We first contacted Service King (Jason) several years back to remove an in-sink garbage disposal,…read morethen over the years, have called him back to replace a kitchen faucet, 2 shower (1 tub) faucets and a sump-pump. Latest service was a drain replacement The extent of and costs for each project varied, as we expected, but the promptness in returning calls and showing up, the professionalism and courtesy are always consistent. We joke that plumbing is a dirty job, but Jason and his team keep it all contained and clean. He definitely leaves things better (fixed/replaced) and cleaner than when he got there. We've had to work with him from out of state to address concerns with a recent local service, and he honors his workmanship warranties, not to mention patiently ask questions to understand the situation before diving in to figure out what, if anything, is wrong. Jason is a no-nonsense, straightforward guy, which we really appreciate. He doesn't haggle, tells you whether he can do the job, how much it would cost, and when he can do it. We've read some of the negative reviews about Service King, and honestly, some of those comments sound a bit more like the result of a bad experience that the customer also played a part in. In our many interactions over the year with Jason and his crew, we feel like he has invested more into ensuring the work he does for us is the best. This is why we have called him back so many times. At this point, we just accept whatever price he tells us, though we feel he is very fair and honest, because we trust he will take care of our needs. For an aging home, we still have a long list of services we can call Jason on, and at some point, he will have helped us update/replace pretty much everything that helps this home run.
